May I say some things since I'm one of the people in this thread?
1st) Cipher asked us for this kind of thread, even the attacking his gf part. Why he decided to ask that and keep his gf in Avalon at the same time, I do not know, so I had to improv
2nd) while an attack called Super Extinction Attack fired on humanity sounds bad, I split up the pl so much for each ball (even had to add that to the same post) that its strength couldn't even kill a baby (that being said, Hitora is going overboard so I got a nothing to say about that)
3rd) Rei, how would you know it was even Red Eclipse that suicide bombed a NPC on your property. While you are justified to join, you wouldn't be able to possibly know, not yet. If your char were to find out, then by all means, give me a good butt kicking since that was all me.
4th) Toma. Your idea is flawed because that means your always in your faction even if your somewhere else. Also, if we made faction personal areas into DE, so many areas would be areas almost anybody couldn't rp on. Sure you can have lookouts, but there are plenty of ways to hide yourself from what I've seen.
5th) regardless of what I said in 4, I honestly don't care if other people joined at this point, but have a real reason why your joining, like defending everyone from the giant Oozaro, and not, oh, I think this person is related to a bombing that happened so little ago, the fly speed to get here is unimaginable (looks at Rei)

You had them yell out "FOR THE GODS OF THE ECLIPSE" not only would the BBA officers on site be able to say that red eclipse was attacking the West Capitol, but it would be easy to put two and two together. Proof The Red Eclipse Messenger realized he messed up, but how could he return to his Gods of the Red Eclipse without accomplishing his mission. He realized this was it one way or another, so he fell to his fallback plan, at least this way his Gods would respect him. He ripped of his shirt, showing off the ki explosives on his vest. He ran towards the female and pulled the trigger. " FOR THE GODS OF THE ECLIPSE", the messenger yelled as he attempted to tackle the female robot. (Kimikize Attack, instant death for messenger) |

Komoto noticed the energy lance go through the floor, and go at Hitora, and merely laughed at the site. However, Komoto received a phone call of all things, and he pulled it out and answered. He listened, how the messenger failed to kill the mechanical wench. However, the messenger did manage to knock her out.

Goodbye my friend", Komoto said... Komoto then realized he left his mic on by accident, meaning Cipher heard everything.
Komoto then put all his remaining power into his flight move, and headed straight back to base, not saying another word.
bold part is enough to have overheard you if someone was lurking around, and due to the fact you had it as a closed topic, there's no reason we weren't around when you said the words that were spoken

But yes, Yami Rei pretty much is doing the 'dirty' work in Reikiko's story. For Reikiko Avalon is a paradise where she can escape from all the issues and problems she had to deal with in the past, as a result a threat to Avalon or Reikiko is surely going to stir Yami Rei into action, especially the latter due to the nature of their being.

I think if you're attacking something faction specific it should be DE but only to those actually apart of said faction. For instance if one were to attack a blue banner army base the Blue Banner army can retaliate and eliminate those attacking them. It's ridiculous to think you can attack a base non-DE and expect everyone to remain alive. This is way too unrealistic and on the side of being a god it also forces you to think regarding your actions or at least plan some sort of attack/strategy.
However. If you're attacking a specific area? Non DE would be fine. A group of characters could easily destroy/take over a non-contested area and make it their own, thus turning it into a faction base, or just leave it in the rubble. If left in the rubble another group could easily RP rebuilding.
tldr: attack a faction's base = DE, destroy an area/city/forest = non DE.

I agree that it should totally be Open DE, and I'll explain why. Events that can change story in a major way are determined to be Open DE (Saga) by site design. Something like blowing up a faction HQ, attacking a faction HQ, is changing that faction's story in a major way. If they aren't Open DE, what would stop someone from going "Lel, I just blew up the entire SSE army and attacked Cacumber Capital's Palace in all these Closed or no-risk threads."
Creating an OOC wall of invulnerability around your character so that you can influence big RP and story changes without risk is not a good system.
Could someone in an Open non-DE ICly destroy Cacumber Palace or Big Blu? I wouldn't think so.
We've already determined that if someone wants to destroy or takeover a city or planet, it's Open DE/Saga -- and they have to announce it first and wait 2 days for someone to intervene.
This is a very similar situation. It wasn't some random outlying base, it was the heart of the Avalon faction. People weren't even aware of the scale of the roleplay going on because it was all done in a closed RP.
In summation, you shouldn't be able to majorly and negatively impact other factions at the benefit of your own without there being a risk involved for yourself -- and that involves the Open DE standard used for every other majorly influential event.

You know, what's funny, is you all keep talking about mathing this an open DE because the cities are being attacked and stuff, but everyone seems to be focusing on me for bombing an NPC I was told it be cool to bomb by the creater of said NPC, and your all ignoring the giant ape that won't stop destroying the city. Instead your all just floating staring at me with hatred over my one attempted kill not caring about the civilians like how your threads should be stating from how your viewpoints are on here:P

Sounds to me like Yami Rei isn't just targeting you, she's pretty much cranky lady mode who is about to beat up you, the aforementioned giant ape and anything else in sight that annoys her. She just went after you first cause you attempted to flee the scene, the giant monkey is kind of rampaging without any sign of stopping yet so... she has no reason to go after him 'yet'.

This was just brought to my attention thanks to Pah'mazhan. I haven't been keeping up with the threads lately but apparently Red Eclipse members were in a battle that took place in Rei's territory.
Was there an official rule before this discussion began that stated that players were not allowed to do this?

Correction: You're allowed to do it, but not in a closed thread. You're literally placing suicide bombers in my garden and expect me to be unable to react to such an action? That's fundamentally flawed. In fact, a DE or Saga is usually caused by the result of a player's actions having a potential large-scale influence (usually through a conflict) that can influence others. You're pretty much going KABOOM on an island that belongs to another player, who has been investing time and money into their territory so by all definitions it would have led to a DE. At least that's how it would have been if I understood President Bao his explanation right about DEs and Sagas. It's already 'giving a hand' by simply turning it into an Open thread instead of a DE. |
