"Lets begin the second act.""And in this corner!... Um... Seriously, guys? What does this even mean? Are you sure this is right? ... Ok then.. Ahm... A tiny, cape figure stands at the opposite corner of the ring, barely managing to withdraw his laughter upon hearing the announcer's stunned reaction to his opening spiel. It was these small moments that really gave 'Jerry' the extra bit of confidence he needed to ignore the fact that he was forced to reside in South Capitol. Because lord knows that this man despises South Capitol. Aside from his withered right arm, most of the man's identifying features are hidden underneath his brown hooded cloak. And though he seems to keep the cap lowered at all costs, there's just a small enough window for his competitor see a glimpse of stitched lips held up in a grin. Whoever this guy is, he sure isn't human.
"Second act already, huh?" Jerry lets out a forced cackle, as he decides to play along with the bounty hunter's play metaphor. The man then lowers his knees slightly, making his already diminutive figure seem even tinier, as he pulls out a single knife from his a buckle strapped to his trousers. "I guess we've reached our complication then." He smirks, holding his blade like an ice pick. The man's cockiness just doesn't feel natural. It's almost like he isn't completely comfortable with being the arrogant martial artist. Unfortunately for both him and the audience, the man still had some half-assed trash talk to throw around.
"But that just begs the question." Jerry's voice deepens a fair bit, making him sound less like a house elf. Though his smirk and tone is obviously meant to be intimidating (or, at the very least, memorable), the man's lax position, bored delivery, and awkward clothes just serve to prove how detached he was from this fight. "Which of us is playing the lead?" That line should have carried some impact, and it really would have, if Jerry didn't sound absolutely underwhelmed by everything. One gets the distinct impression that he doesn't want to be here.

Laetus gave a smirk and twirled his worn sword in hand. "Well, that's yet to be decided." He replied. "But don't try out for the part if you can't put on a good show. Tis unfair to the audience." Laetus seemed to be trying to put up a good show, but something about this guy felt... off. Part of him just wanted to end this quickly.
"Both challengers look ready, folks! Let the match BEGIN!"

"Well then, mister performer..." Jerry smirks and points his knife at the lad, waiting for the younger warrior to move. Though his gaze remains hidden beneath the hood of his cloak, something about the man's aura made it feel like he was staring directly into his opponent's eyes. The very nature of his ki was unnatural, almost evil in a way. If the swordsman could feel ki, he would have been repulsed by the knife nut's demented output. If he couldn't, well he'd at least notice how inhuman the man seemed to act.
"Why don't you show me how to give the crowd a show?" Jerry asks the boy, lowering his stance even further. Still, he remained in his readied position, not budging a single inch from his area in the arena. With a nod, the man flicks his knife around, in the same way one would taunt their opponent with a finger wave. "C'mon, take the first shot." He cackles quietly, still not sounding entirely sure about his position. "I don't bite..." He adds, as he flashes a small, sharp row of fangs to his opponent. "Not that much, anyways."

Laetus stood there for a moment examining his opponent. 'What s this guy' He couldn't help but think. He then let out a sigh. 'This is my opponent. Gotta put on a good show.' Laetus smirked, gripped his sword tightly in hand and rushed at his opponent. He got right up to the odd mans face before making a sudden jerk to the right and taking a heavy swing with his sword at Jerry's right side.

Cross had just made two mistakes. The first, and less obvious, of these errors was rushing directly into Jerry's line of sight, landing just at the right angle to see what was beneath the midget's hood. And holy shit, that decision had a very unpleasant (and uncomfortable) consequence: the view. Though those who are familiar with 'Jerry' were probably already used to every grotesque facial feature that he was blessed to possess, not everyone was lucky enough to receive such a prestigious blessing. And perhaps in that regard, Cross should have felt honored. But if the bounty hunter was anything like most people, then he would probably be, at the very least, mildly miffed.
Newer playmates of Jerry would most likely be drawn first to his face's disgusting patchwork of rotting muscles, twitching veins and dying skin that was all held together by numerous black stitches, which leaked of musty, black ichor. The second defining feature was probably Jerry's eyes, or rather, his eye. Singular. As only a single eyeball of his was remotely functional. The other one, unfortunately, was stitched half-closed, though not completely.
In fact, if one decides to look closer to said eye socket, they might even witness the wailing cries of pained agony from all the lost souls that burned in the eternal bowels of Hell. (Road rage in Hell is pretty bad, you see. Especially on pay day, that's why most sane people in Hell walk to work. The mid-afternoon commute is just not worth the effort.) But that's just a solid might. As Cross would probably just see some pulpy, red mush leaking from it. And finally, Jerry had horns on the sides of his head. There isn't really much to say about those horns, so we'll just move on now.
Nightmare-inducing visage aside, there was another downside to Cross' attack. And this one was much clearer for both the audience and the contenders to take note of. You see, Cross had decided to take a heavy swing at the garbed creature's right side. Which coincidentally, was the home of Jerry's only functional arm. The very same arm that gripped onto the steel blade that the man had presented earlier, allowing the knife-nut to deflect his opponent's much larger blade with a single armed jab forward.
"Tsk. Tsk. Tsk." Jerry sighed audibly, shaking his head as he pointed the knife away from his opponent. "I didn't someone so young could have performance issues." The man shrugged, as his blood-shot eye stared directly into Cross' line of sight. With a showy (albeit insincere) cackle, Jerry snapped his wrist, coating his entire arm with an evil energy. "Maybe try being a little bit more... robust. You good with that, chief?"

All thoughts were pushed aside when their blades met, only to flood back in after Laetus was forced back. When their blades made contact, Laetus flowed with his jab, sensing quickly he wouldn't overpower this man, and backing off. He stared at the man quietly for a moment. No clever quip or snappy comeback. Just confusion. "What... The hell... Are you... What is..." He rambled for a minute before shaking his head. "Are you... Do you need a doctor, man? I cant imagine any way this is all ok..." But at the same time, he knew he didn't. He effortlessly pushed Laetus back... He... What was he about to fight?

"Dude, chin up." Jerry let out a soft growl, a tinge of urgency could be heard from his tone. Despite keeping a cocky sneer plastered onto his face, the man's voice was one of worry. With a flick of his wrist, the energy forming around Jerry's arm dissipates, and he points the knife at Cross. "Seriously, you gotta work with me here. We have to give these people the best show of their goddamned lives." He hissed anxiously, his chest thumping rapidly as he gave another crocodile grin. "If we don't, a lot of people are gonna get hurt, alright? Just please do something..." Jerry practically pleaded with his opponent. "Look, if you don't move right now, I'll rush ya. Just block it or something, you got a sword, don't cha?"
