"No. What I expected you to do is end their lives, Pieter!" Bing clenched his fist tightly, collecting bits of dirt and rubble between his fingers. "You think that a couple of quick hits to their pressure points would have stopped them for long? Hell, give me three minutes and I'd still kick your ass after you 'blocked my chi' or whatever the hell you think you did!"
Grunting wearily, Bing pushed himself to his feet, his stance wobbling and weary. Pieter offered to set Bing up with a new arm, but the Ex-Kami refused. "Thanks, but no. Not sure I want an arm from the guy who's so ready to beat the crap out of people who want to defend earth but gets all apprehensive when a mass murderer is on the chopping block."
Bing turned, walking back to the spacepod he rode in on. It was somewhere on the outskirts of the city, which meant a long way from here. As he trudged, he turned back to Pieter, and spoke one last time.
"Like I said back on the Lookout: Vi and I paid for our sins in more ways than one. Maybe you can understand where I'm coming from when you've paid for yours."
