MAGIC AND MAYHEM
Rustic cabins dotted the grassy hills as trees stood up like spikes, zigzagging the border of brick roads and unpolished homes. Rivers streamed through deep valleys of the classical and rustic Ocariin City. A brilliant white spacecraft flew over the town, energy wings folding back inside it's hull while the vessel came to a slow. It passed the greengrocer with his window full of apples and oranges, and the butcher with his bloody lumps of meat on display and naked chickens hanging up, and the small bank, and the grocery store and the blacksmith, and then the craft came out at the other side of the city on to the narrow country road where there were no people any more and very few motor cars.
The ship landed on the ground, the insignia of the Saiyan Solar Empire sparkling on the side of one of the vessel's winds. Inside, a tall, brown-haired saiyan yanked the keys out of the control panel, causing the starship to power down with a low, descending whirr. Turning to his side, the saiyan would eye his son, whom was slumped over the controls, fast asleep. "Hey, Cap. We're here." Collard spoke to his son, putting a hand on Capper's back and shaking him a little. No response came from the tiny teen, save for a brief stir of his tail. Closed eyes tightening for a moment, the saiyan boy would continue to dream in the abyss of sleep.
Sighing, Collard scooped up his sleeping son in his arms, positioning Capper in a slumped position over his back, with the dreaming technician's arms draped over his father's shoulders. Flipping open the bottom hatch of the ship, Collard would trot out, holding an arm over his eyes as the violent sun of Konats glared with it's single, judgemental eye. As they stepped into the cool, windy evening air, Collard caught his breath at the view. The Capitol twinkled like a vast field of fireflies behind them- truly a sight to behold. But that wasn't why they were here.
Capper had recently heard about Konats from a plot-convenient brochure, and heard of the native species' incredible magical capabilities. Maybe, just maybe, this was the key to bringing his mother back. Chire had died during the Xylo escapade on Konats, and Capper just barely managed to save his best friend, Etoru. Collard was proud of his son for managing to survive, for one, and do everything in his power to help. The father knew his son felt useless, and wanted to help... He just wasn't sure how, with Capper's unwillingness to train.
Sighing, Collard turned back as his sleeping son stirred for a moment. Letting loose a wide yawn, Capper's eyes lazily rolled open for a moment before closing again. He had had a very long month- between staying up for many sleepless nights to make Etoru's new limbs, telling the tale of what happened on Namek to a large crowd, including the soon-to-be-queen herself, Habana, and coping with the loss of his mother, Collard figured his child deserved a well-deserved rest. But, would their time on this planet be peaceful, or was this a big mistake? Collard bit his lip, staring off to the sun. Only time would tell.
