Thread PL - 676,304 Heavy Weights on PL reduced to 169,076
In her captain’s chair Shemha’s fingers drummed against the armrest as her eyes lingered on the screen before her. Rarely did she hesitate to do things out of unease. Usually she gathered intel, assessed the situation and came to a decisive decision. The problem was, this wasn’t a normal situation and one actually quite unfamiliar to her.
On the screen before her contact information sat at her full disposal, the individual it belonged to a friend of the Majin’s who last she knew, was back on Earth. Now contacting a friend was a simple act to most, but the whole idea of friendship was still developing for Shemha. In reality she overthought it. Would Noxa be busy? Would she be bothered by the interruption? Did she not wish to talk? All these trivial worries held her red finger back from tapping the button to connect with the woman.
Finally, after several more minutes she developed the willpower with a snort. How could she be that much of a coward? What would really go wrong with this? Noxa would answer and likely be as cheery as ever…right?
Index finger extended, her arm rose from the chair to tap the screen. A green light on the console indicated the signal was sent and it would only be a matter of time until the two were connected. Straightening in her chair, as if her posture mattered, she forced herself to take a rbeath. When she eventually heard a click as the connection was made she offered a single world.
”Noxa?” Shemha asked to look for confirmation that she had reached the right person. How embarrassing would it be to bother something entirely different than her intended contact!

The phone was picked up, and the first words were. “DAMN IT! WHAT DO YOU WANT?!”
There was a pause, followed by rather aggravated barks.
“I SAID NO — THIS IS MY POT PIE!”
A loud thud followed as the phone was presumably dropped. There was a distant quality to the sounds of barking and growling, as well as the familiar grunts of Noxa.
“FUCK OFF, FLOOFS! YOU ARE YOURS!”
More barking followed.
“FINE! HAVE IT! MUTT!”
The acute, sharp thuds of heels against wood grew louder, before the sound of someone fumbling with a microphone were heard.
A sigh came through to Shemha’s end, “What? Who is it?” Noxa asked, clearly being extremely irritated at the moment. Probably something to do with the sound of noise chewing in the background.

Shemha flinched at the harsh words that greater her from the other end of the line. The voice was clearly Noxa’s, but why she was so irritated Shemha couldn't guess. It was clear she wasn't in the mood for a phone call though.
”Oh..sor…” The beginnings of the apology was all Shemha got out before the loud thud made her pull the phone away from her ear. Not at all understanding what was happening, she strained to try and hear what was going on.
Was Noxa arguing with someone? No, not someone but something and by the sounds of it her oversized dog. Starting to think those first aggressive words were not her fault she waited. Soon the clack of heels approached and then a much calmer, yet still irritated voice.
”Noxa...it's Shemha. Is this a bad time? I was just contacting you to check in, but I can do so another time if that is more convenient… Her voice trailed off, confidence wavering a little as she wondered if Noxa was infact annoyed by the call.

“Shemha!” Noxa exclaimed, an unquestionable glee present in her voice, going as far as to cause the woman’s silky voice to crack like that of a highschool girl. “I haven’t heard from you in so long! How are you?! Aren’t you glad I decided to force this number on you? I know at some time we were going to lose contact — it has happened to me before, you know?”
There was a clear stop on her tirade, the woman deciding it was best to dispel any possible thoughts that she may have been upset at Shemha or something of the like; from her constant online interactions Noxa had come to learn just how easily it was possible to misinterpret things when bodylanguage wasn’t a factor.
“No, no.” Noxa dismissed, a heavy sigh coming in through the line. “It’s fine; Mr. Floofs is just being a greedy dog. Now is a perfectly fine time. I was going to go eat, but I guess now I’m not.” That last clause certainly sounded a little bitter but nothing too harsh or crazy.
With the sound of thumping heels and the noisy eating growing distant it was obvious that Noxa was distancing herself from her canine companion. Soon the sound of a door’s opening and closing made itself apparent, marking the end of any noise Shemha could hear from Floofs. The sound of Noxa descending some stairs was what Shemha was met with while the redhead raked her mind for any possible hints that Shemha had left her with the last time they spoke; she couldn’t remember anything about the majin going on a trip…
Then again, she was a mercenary — she lived tracking people down.
That’s when it hit her.
“Don’t tell me you went on a mission and didn’t tell me!” Noxa exclaimed, some of her complaining being born out of selfish boredom, while some of it was born out of honest worry. She knew that Shemha was strong, and more than capable of holding her own against nearly any thret out there — but like it or not that two had become friends; it was in Noxa's nature to worry from now on. “Mercenary work is exciting; I could use a break from all of this… Internet surfing and drama watching! I mean… It’s fun and all, but I feel as though I haven’t left my home in weeks!”

Body language definitely wasn’t something you could communicate over a connection like this and for that reason Noxa wouldn’t see the Majin’s body relax when everything was clarified. Honestly, it wasn’t surprising the two were fighting over food. Canines of all sorts loved to eat and from what Shemha saw, so did Noxa. Thankfully it sounded like it hadn’t come to blows.
As Noxa distanced herself from her furry friend, Shemha rolled her eyes a little at the comment about being forced to take the number. It was true she resisted initially, but in her defense she had no plans of leaving Earth at that time.
”Yeah, I have to admit I am glad. If it wasn’t for this I wouldn’t be able to contact you this far out. Shemha conceded. When a door banged shut and the fading sounds of Mr. Floors devouring whatever it was that had been Noxa’s meal disappeared, the Majin assumed she was outside of whatever structure she had been in.
Despite the warmth she felt being able to talk to her friend after a fair amount of time, she couldn’t be exactly honest with her. She was on a mission…but it wasn’t truly mercenary work.
”My apologies for not informing you of my departure, but it came about rather quickly. Besides, weren’t you in the middle of looking for a place? I wouldn’t have wanted to pull you away from that.” Shemha added as she shifted in her chair, left leg crossing over the right.
”Would you really have wanted to go all the way to Namek with me? Its peaceful here I have to admit, but far less exciting than Earth. I have yet to pass a single bar.” She remarked and it was the truth even if she hadn’t gone looking for one.

“It’s alright.” Noxa found herself reassuring her friend. “Maybe I just need to find something to do with my life that isn’t the shop. Business is too slow to keep me entertained, and I can only keep wasting away in front of the television so much before I lose my mind.”
Noxa paused, “Though, did you say Namek? Well, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t curious about my lineage — always felt a strong connection to my Namekian genetics.” She admitted. “What are you doing over there anyway? Who are you hunting?” Noxa wondered, only able to crack a smile at the mention of Namek’s lack of bars.
“Well, who knows? Maybe I could bring you some drinks.” Noxa noted, “I DO have my own spaceship now — bought it on sale, though I have to admit I’m not too good at flying it.” She said, “Crash landed on some island not too long ago, though nothing too serious happened. Apparently all that smoke and fire is normal for a spacepod after landing; managed to fix ‘er up without having to pay too much extra. Surely going to another planet can’t be that hard; it’s not like I’ve never done it before.”
The sound of another door being opened and then closed would be heard, then that of a chair creaking. Noxa grunted, tossing her legs up over a desk before resuming.
“I might take a sabbatical and hop over.” She said, “Do you think it’d be worth it? Well, besides us getting to see each other again — that by itself is almost totally worth the trip in my book. Meeting more Namekians is just icing on the cake… But what else is there to do on the planet?" Noxa found herself wondering, "You mentioned no new bars... Have you made any new friends?”

Noxa was always a talker, but Shemha didn’t mind in the slightest. In fact, she enjoyed it. Usually reserved, the Majin found the red head’s questions and small stories invigorating. She always seemed to have so much energy and was often animated during conversation. Something about how much the girl invested herself in her words appealed to the magical female.
”Oh you don’t need to bring a thing, my bar is fully stocked. I just don’t enjoy drinking by myself really, a tad boring if you ask me. Although I have met a few note worthy individuals, I wouldn’t say they are my friends.” Shemha explained. The taste was still the same, but the experience was lacking when you sat at a bar in silence.
”It’s more of a “what” this time than a “who,” a bit of information gathering you see. That aside, I would highly recommend you swing over if your looking for some time to relax. The people here are peaceful and its quite beautiful.”
A slight pause came before she continued.
”Oh and if you want something a little more engaging, the Guru here, one of the Namekian elders, trains those he sees with potential. Perhaps you could pay him a visit. If you think you have potential that is.” Shemha said with a small smile her friend could not see. She wasn’t exactly sure what the woman was looking for in terms of entertainment, but that was a start. As for the information concerning the Dragon Balls…she wasn’t sure if that was something she should be handing out.

Noxa couldn't help but smile. It seemed that the leitmotif of bars and alcohol wasn’t going to die between the two friends any time soon. Not that she minded — Shemha was one of those special folk that made almost any activity fun. Alcohol, too, had that special element of being able to spice any kind of activity up. So when you mixed both of those elements together something the result was always a haze of fun.
She was sure that even in a planet that Shemha described as ‘peaceful’ the two of them could always stir up something to do — even if that something was just to look at the scenery, which her Majin friend also described as ‘beautiful’. Still, there was one thing that kept nibbling at Noxa.
“Don’t tell me you’re going to hold out on me on what you’re there for. Or is it the kind of thing that you don’t say over an unsecured line?” She wondered, “Because if that’s the case then I definitely need to pass by. “
The redhead naturally thought that whatever Shemha was out there to handle had something to do with whichever ‘Namekian Elders’ she had described. After all, the subject had to have arisen for some reason.
“If I have potential, eh?” A cocky smirk found itself tugging on Noxa’s lips, one that her friend could not see. “Now that’s interesting… Alright, Shemha. As if your company wasn’t good enough you managed to completely sell me on the idea. I’ll get some help with my ship’s navigation — or whatever you do to mark where you’re headin’, and I’ll be right over.”
There was a hesitant pause, “Oh, one more thing… Is Namek the kind of environment fit for a dog? Or, rather, a half a ton demon dog? If not I’ll have someone to pet sit for me.”

Again a smile found its way to the Majin’s features in response to Noxa’s words. The fact she chose to travel all the way to Namek to visit gave her a warm feeling. Of course she likely wanted to do more than just spend time with Shemha, but still. This only reinforced her decision to try and actually make friends on a deeper level than just getting what she wanted from them.
The fact Noxa asked again about what it was Shemha was doing on Namek made the Majin wonder how much longer she should hide the truth from the woman. Was there really any harm in telling her she belonged to the SSE? Marcel had learned about her allegiance and he remained a trusted friend. Wouldn’t it be the same with Noxa?
Unsure, she would say nothing of it for now.
”You do know what client confidentiality is, don’t you?” Shemhe decided to respond, clear sarcasm in her voice. It was best to keep things light so even if the truth came out, she would have a way to explain herself. The Empire didn’t want soldiers running around drawing attention when tensions were still high.
”As for the dog…I am not sure, but I haven’t seen any canines on the planet. In fact, I am not sure if Namekians even have pets.” That was the truth of it. On her visits here she never once saw a house cat or any other type of pet that one might normally find on Earth where they were most common. There definitely weren’t any demon dogs, light finally shed on the giant creatures background.
”So, that means you will be on your way soon? I will be sure to keep my scouter scanning for you then. If you need coordinates I can provide them.” Offered the Majin just in case her red headed friend would need them. Otherwise she would let the girl go so she could begin preparing to leave.

"Yeah — I'll be making plans to depart now!" Noxa exclaimed. "Keep an eye out for me, bubblebut — Imma commin'!"
And with that the line went dead. Noxa's enthusiasm was palpable, and there was no doubt to be had that she was rushing head over heels to make her way over to Shemha's little corner of the universe.
Noxa didn't get the coordinates in the end, which could prove troublesome. However, Noxa was a resourceful woman. She was sure to find a way.
