”Not exactly. Not unless I’m around, anyway,” Kaiyo groaned after Toma asked if it was a common problem on Earth. She motioned to the older burn marks that dotted the curtains, the couch, and the chair she was currently sitting in. ”As far as I know, my family’s the only one with this little ‘gift’, so you shouldn’t have anything to worry about. I’d appreciate it if you kept your mouth shut about it though. Randomly setting things on fire isn’t exactly smiled upon around here, and it’s not something I can just turn off.” The teenager wasn’t sure if he was the type to go around blabbing about things like that, but she would rather be safe than sorry. It had definitely made him jump, but he hadn’t scrambled to get away from the flames. So far, the handful Saiyans she had met hadn’t been nearly as bothered by her abilities as the average human. The question was, would his attitude change now that he knew that she was the cause of it?
”Eh, no problem. I didn’t have anything else I was going to do today, so it doesn’t bother me any. I’m gonna have to ask you to use the door instead of the window when you end up leaving though.” It was at that point that Athren decided to disappear into the kitchen. It wasn’t a separate room, but there was a wall separating most of it from the living room, blocking him from their view. What was with him? Was he still pissed with Toma’s earlier comment about them being alike? Kaiyo wasn’t exactly sure since he didn’t look particularly angry. Maybe he was just getting antsy since it had been over five whole minutes since he had taken a break from his training.
”I don’t think he’s up for answering any more of your questions at the moment,” Kaiyo said, looking back to Toma with a shrug. ”I’m afraid I don’t know very much about Saiyans either. I think my sister would know more than I would, but only by a little bit. I know for a fact she’s never been to Vegeta, or whatever it was called. Either way, she probably won’t be back until way later.” Anzu never came back from her dates early, which was just fine for the redhead since she honestly didn’t want to hear about what went on between her and Ryosuke. ”You got any questions about Earth? Those I can cover.”

Kaiyo began to explain her powers over the element of Fire, and Toma nodded as he began to float in the air, crossing his legs together, hovering in place. This was his way of sitting down without actually sitting. Giving his legs a rest some, and it let him think more clearly. "I see, I see. Somehow that makes more sense. And don't worry, I'm great at keeping secrets." Toma said, as he smiled at Kaiyo with a reassuring look on his face. He wouldn't go around blabbing about her family if she didn't want him to. After all, it wasn't his place to do that.
It was shortly after that Athren walked into another part of aboad. Toma wasn't quite sure where the other Saiyan had gone, but he didn't quite care. It was at that point that Kaiyo mentioned that she didn't know much about Saiyans herself, but offered her knowledge of Earth. Toma nodded to her. "Well, I'm not really sure where to start. How about you tell me what would be absolutely vital for me to know? Would that be alright?"

From the other room Athren had caught all of their words since his exit. It wasn't a big apartment and Athren wasn't being very loud with his workout so it was quite easy to hear it all. Athren couldn't help but answer Toma's final question about what he needed to know about Earth. Sure, this wasn't any information about the Planet itself but it would be good for Toma to hear. "I'd say it's vital not to piss me off." Athren stated aloud with a light strain in his voice from his physical movement of his push ups.
He really didn't like the though of him being where he lived especially since he wasn't even a trained saiyan. If he was a warrior and appeared to be like the usual saiyan Athren would probably have interacted better with him but considering he looked like an outside Athren himself felt a bit uneasy. Athren would slowly continue his work out as he let the other two talk in the other room. His ears ready to pick up everything they say.

”Vital? I dunno, I guess that would all depend on your situation,” Kaiyo replied, absentmindedly tapping her finger on the arm of the chair she was sitting it. She hadn’t expected his question to be so vague. The teenager didn’t really know how long he had been here or what he already knew, or what information would be all that important to him. Though, Athren’s added comment from the kitchen made her laugh. ”Yeah, I guess that would be a good place to start, wouldn’t it?” she chuckled.
”Vital to do what, exactly? Survive? My only answer there would be eat and sleep. You gotta be more specific than that,” Kaiyo explained, trying to wrack her brain for some advice to give anyway. What was vital to her? Well, she went about her business by staying as covert about her pyrokinesis as possible. The teenager knew very well that her life was easier when she wasn’t attracting any unwanted attention. Maybe that would be a good place to start.
”I guess I would recommend trying not to make yourself stand out? See, most humans will take precious time out of whatever the hell they happen to be doing at the time to stand and stare at ‘cha if you aren’t normal like them,” she continued with a shrug of her shoulders. ”Meh, maybe normal’s a bad word to use here. Basically what I’m saying is that if you want to blend in, you have to act kind of weak around them. It sucks, but that’s just how they are. You’re probably gonna want to lay off the flying while you’re in West Capitol, or any other city for that matter. Maybe find some way to hide your tail while you’re at it.” With that, she pointed at Toma's furry brown tail as he hovered above the living room floor.

"Blend in, huh... Alright, shouldn't be too hard. As for hiding my tail, I can just wrap it around my waist when I have my coat on." He spoke as he shrugged. Hiding his tail wasn't too big of a deal. The Saiyan continued to hover in the air, before he looked up at the ceiling, seeming to be lost on thought. "Hey, have either of you two ever heard of something called Dragon Balls?" Toma spoke, as he looked back down to Kaiyo. He didn't sense any malice or evil intentions coming from either of these two, grumpy as Athren may be.
It was an honest question in Toma's mind. If the Dragon Balls had existed for a long time on Planet Earth, surely there must be legends of some kind. After all, a magic wish granting dragon isn't something that wouldn't get told about to other people. Toma lowered himself so that now he was at eye level with Kaiyo sitting on the couch, his tail wrapping around his waist as he awaited a response.

Hearing Kaiyo's laugh put a small smile on Athren's face. He did admire her and the fact that she thought that was funny did make him somewhat happy even in this uncomfortable situation. Trying to keep to himself though he stayed out of the conversation for a little while longer. He just continued along doing his push ups. Of course that was up until he heard all of Toma's words. The first bunch angered him and the next drew his curiosity.
He then stopped and walked back to the two, the second he could see them both he would have leaned against the nearest wall with a shoulder and crossed his arms in front of his chest. "Blend in..?" Athren asked this curiously but wasn't going to let anybody answer. Before anybody could he began to speak. This time his voice had a overwhelming tone of annoyance. "You're a saiyan. Whether I like it or not you're still one of my race and there is no reason to hide that. You've got a tail and it's the key to the greatest power you can imagine. So what, People stare but that shouldn't make you hide what you are. There isn't very many of our race here and just because of that we shouldn't have to hide. Be proud of what you are regardless of who the hell judges. If they have a problem with your tail they have a problem with mine and I'm not afraid to meet their faces with my fist. You hide that tail and we're going to have some problems." It was obvious that Athren wasn't impressed but in his own mind he did have a good reason. He was judged for being different all his life and it did bother him but he wasn't going to let being different bother him here, especially if he had the power to do some good.
He then responded to the second part of Toma's words. "What the hell is a Dragon Ball? It sounds stupid."

Kaiyo looked over her shoulder as she heard footsteps across the apartment’s wooden floor. Athren had decided to rejoin the two of them in the living room. It sounded like he hadn’t been happy with the advice she had given, or the fact that Toma was thinking about following it. ”Eh, it’s up to you. Just ‘cause it works for me doesn’t mean it’s for everyone,” the teenager commented as she shrugged her shoulders. Kaiyo leaned back in her chair, casually placing her hands behind her head. ”Our situations aren’t exactly the same, after all. My family has a history of trying to hide what we are from the rest of the world. It’s just an extra pain in the ass for me since I got such a late start. Just remember that us humans can get pretty judgmental when we come across someone or something different than what we’re used to.”
Apparently not needing anymore questions about Earth or Vegeta answered, Toma decided to steer the conversation in a different direction. It might have been for the best since her last piece of advice didn’t go over well with Athren. ”Dragon Balls?” the redhead repeated, watching as Toma lowered himself to her level. It sounded like the name of some kind of underground punk rock band or something. Somehow Kaiyo didn’t think he would be bringing it up if that was the case though. Whatever they were, Athren seemed just as clueless as she was. Instead of playing a guessing game, she simply shook her head and waited for him to explain himself.

Toma had to admit, Athren had a point when it came to addressing Toma's heritage. Toma didn't like the fact that he might have to blend in to avoid getting hunted by the being who lived on Mt. Pazou that Milac had warned him about, but at the same time, was it really worth getting killed over ones pride? It was something Toma might have to contemplate for a while.
Kaiyo spoke up about her family having to blend in to avoide getting ostrasized due to their ablities. Toma didn't mind so much, mostly because such abilities weren't so odd to him, but he understood where she was coming from due to her situation. It was then that Athren said that the Dragon Balls sound stupid, and Kaiyo clearly didn't know what they were.
"A little Namekian boy told me about them. Apperently they have the power to grant any wish once all seven are gathered... I plan on finding out if this is true. If it is, I'm going to bring my family back."

Athren couldn't help but arch a brow at the concept of the dragon balls. They really did sound way to good to be true. If they were this powerful Athren figured the world would be a much different place for if somebody evil was to find them and make a wish they could easily turn this Planet into a living hell. Regardless, as Toma brought up his family Athren really didn't know what to say. It wasn't like Athren had ever had one and the closest thing he ever did have to a family was the two girls and this couch that he was free to sleep on that laid inside the apartment they were in.
Finally Athren spoke and his words were exactly what was on his mind. "Seems a little far fetched to me." With that he went silent. He didn't want to say a word less or a word more than what he had.

Kaiyo cocked her head to the side as she listened to Toma’s explanation of these ‘Dragon Balls’ that he had mentioned. So, all you had to do was collect seven of them and you got whatever you wanted? The teenager had heard her share of strange tales that happened to be true while growing up thanks to her family’s lifestyle, but that seemed like a little much even compared to those stories. ”Namekians? They’re those green folks with the pointy ears, right? Anyway, I think I’m with Athren on this one. They sound like something straight out of a fairytale.”
Even though there was a lot of doubt on whether the Dragon Balls were actually real or not, Kaiyo could help but have her mind wander to what she might do if ever given the option for having a single wish granted. If she had been asked a few years ago, the obvious answer would have been to get rid of her pyrokinesis. She wasn’t so sure she wanted that now though. Living life without those weird abilities of hers seemed like it would be incredibly boring after everything she had gone through so far. She supposed there was always the idea of wishing that it was fully under control, but that was something that would be achieved after enough training. It seemed like kind of a waste of a wish. Was there anything that she actually wanted as far as powerful wishes went?
Figuring it might be worth asking Anzu later if she had ever heard about something like what Toma had talked about, the teenager shrugged her shoulders and looked back to the floating Saiyan. ”But hey, more power to ya if it turns out they’re real. Sounds like you would have a good use for ‘em. Out of curiosity, how do you plan on finding out if the story the Namekian told you was true?”

"Yes, I thought that they might not be real as well, either... but if there's any chance I might be able to bring my family back... why shouldn't I at least try? They adopted me and gave me a life even though I wasn't one of their kind, I owe it to them to try and restore their lives." Toma spoke, as he brought a hand up to his chin, to think. "I don't know why, but the Namekian I met seemed like a trustworthy person. He warned me of a man who has been hunting Saiyans on this planet, and from what he told me, the man is said to be considerably stronger than me. He doesn't seem like he is the type to lie to someone. He seems to... pure hearted." Toma spoke, as he looked up at the cealing, lost in his thoughts as he recounted the tale.
"As for finding out how, he told me that a Kami watched over this planet from somewhere in the sky. I can fly, so I plan on flying around the planet a few times just to see if I can find it. It might very well not be there, but I can't live with myself if I don't at least try. And besides, flying on this planet is pretty easy."

Athren listened to Toma as he spoke. He was actually listening to the whole thing carefully about how he planned to wish his family back to life but all that went out the window when he was told of a man that hunted saiyans. "A man that hunts down saiyans who's stronger than you? I hope I encounter this man. I'll slaughter him. Simple as that." Of course Athren didn't know what he was getting himself into but that didn't mean his threat was empty. If this saiyan slaughterer decided to try Athren he wouldn't hesitate to finish the man in one attack, assuming that he could anyway. When Athren had said that his eyes would have been lit up with a fire of determination. He was never one to back down or hold back and this saiyan hunter seemed like a good target for him. "Or.. I'll just go hunt him down myself and end the bastard." With that last mouthful of words Athren got his normal and devilish smirk on his face.
He then walked over to his scouter and picked it up off of the couch. He then slowly attached it to his left ear and turned it on. He then turned his attention to the open window and began to walk towards it. "Maybe I'll see you's around." If anybody wished too they probably had a moment or two to try and say something else to him. If they didn't.. well, he was going to be gone in a hurry.

”Again, more power to ya. You obviously think it’s something worth going after, so I’d say go for it,” Kaiyo commented as she listened to Toma talk about what was going on with him. It sounded like the guy had some pretty heavy issues to deal with. If chasing after some magic artifact that may not have even been real was the answer, then so be it. Though, as he continued to talk about it, there was one thing that he seemed to just gloss over that made the teenager raise an eyebrow to him.
”Woah there, step back a sec,” she said as she leaned forward. ”Did you just say there’s some guy out there hunting Saiyans?” The idea of someone like that out there sounded pretty damned psychotic. Was it one of those wackos that lived out in the middle of nowhere with a taste for human, err... Saiyan flesh? It was the immediate image that popped into her head, reminding her of the horror movies she used to go see with her friends over the Summer.
Athren seemed eager to find the guy and deal with him. Kaiyo couldn’t exactly blame him either. After all, he was a Saiyan. If there really was someone out there hunting his kind, they would eventually come face to face with each other sooner or later, right? Still, it’s not like there was all that much to go off of. All they knew was that it was a guy somewhere on Earth. ”That all the info you have on the guy?” Kaiyo asked Toma. Athren didn’t look like was going to wait around to get any more information though. He wasn’t exactly the investigative type from what the teenager knew of him.
”Headin’ out?” Kaiyo asked rhetorically as Athren headed towards the window after retrieving his scouter. ”It’s none of my business, but try to be careful out there. Saiyans are supposed to strong, right? If this guy is specifically hunting them, he probably knows what he’s doin’.” In all honesty, Kaiyo kind of wanted to tag along. She didn’t have anything else planned for that day and was never one to turn down the opportunity for a real fight. However, she didn’t know when Anzu would be returning to the apartment, or whether or not she would be drunk out of her gourd when she did. Kaiyo didn’t want to go out looking for an opponent just to have her possibly intoxicated sister activate her seal when she was in the middle of something important. Besides, there was still a guest in the apartment.

"Unfortunatly, yea. I don't have any other info other than there's a guy hunting Saiyans. I couldn't tell you what he looks like or even his name, but if you really want to fight him, I can tell you he lives on a mountain near the desert where I landed. That's where I met the Namekian and that's where he said the man lived." Toma spoke as he shrugged, unaware of the danger the man presented to Athren. Toma himself hadn't felt the power that the man possessed, and so he didn't feel the need to warn Athren any further than he already had. Athren was a big boy, after all. If he got his ass beat by this guy, then that was his fault for going to look for a fight after being warned of the mans strength.
"I think Kaiyo's right. He probably knows what he's doing. Be careful, if you decide to go." Toma spoke, and that was it. He really didn't have much else to say other than that.

Athren smirked lightly after listening to the two quite carefully. "Mountains near the desert? Well at least I've got one lead now. You two may be right. He might know what he's doing but he hasn't fought me before either, I'll be the last saiyan he fights." In all honesty it wasn't the fact that Athren was underestimating this saiyan hunter. Athren did know he must have been an above average fighter to be a saiyan slayer what Athren was doing wrong was putting too much faith in himself and overestimating his own abilities. That and the fact that he wasn't impressed with a saiyan slayer. His temper did seem to get in the way of his logic. Other than that though, one thing did seem to jump out at him and it wasn't even that big of a thing.
He then turned to Kaiyo slowly with his arched brow. His arms were of course crossed in front of his chest. He though he had heard concern coming from his fellow apartment mate. "Is that some concern I'm hearing from you Kaiyo? Or am I just crazy?" Of course it wasn't just his temper that got him into trouble, his curiosity was quite capable of that too though it usually wasn't to a painful extent. Pausing he gave her time to reply and with a light smirk on his face he would now attempt to stare his ocean blue eyes right into hers.
