@noxa Thread PL:20,000 Suppressed to: 100
Verst was eager to see the cities of Earth. Not to embrace the culture of a foreign world, he'd done that enough. He needed allies, if he was going to make it in this world he needed a person, or a group to back him. He was lacking funds to purchase such help but some people could be coerced through force or promises. Hoping it was the latter, it's so much easier to be pleasant than to beat someone into a pulp. But beating someone to a pulp was fun every now and again. Especially when it came to Humans, such weaklings.
Satan City huh, the sign read in bright almost advertisement like font. It was garish but he couldn't very well go rip it up. Shrugging and continuing his way into the city, rain started trickling out of the midnight sky. The cold didn't bother him but he'd need lodging before long.
Verst mostly hated suppressing his ki, mainly because it made him feel weak but also that it was a necessity to not stand out to government types like Polara, he scoffed as he said the name of the pretentious Arcosian that had rejected him back on Yardrat. Both the planet and her were firmly lodged in his mind as an overall bad experience. Hopefully he'd find something to do in this god awful town

Noxa had left Satan City every night. Well, ever since she got back from her little adventure with Katsu, that is.
It was now impossible to have a comfortable night’s sleep here. A trait the city had been left with thanks to the recent ‘event’. A tale of giant monsters; heroes; spiky-haired golden gods. In reality the contents of the story mattered little to her as of now. The impact the numerous characters had on her were deep — even influencing a few of her decisions as of late. Still, the psychological and emotional changes were not what kept Noxa from sleeping in the city — it was the aftermath. The city had been left physically scarred. A miracle ,really; between the yellow ki-pizzas, giant blasts, burning kaiju, The woman thought it was a wonder that this place even had buildings left. Instead, all that happened were a few scorched roads, melted utility poles, broken hearts, and ripped infrastructure.
Maybe she owed a few more ‘thanks’ to the multitude of characters that had shown up to the party. After all, more destruction meant more disturbance. All repair work naturally meant construction work. Construction meant noise. Noise meant an end to Noxa’s ability to sleep peacefully — especially considering the acuteness of her senses when slumbering. That was a trait the Bio Android couldn’t help but shake off. It was ingrained deeply into her brain. So, naturally, as she fell asleep at night, every morning she would be rudely awoken with the din of working men.
Had this been but a few weeks ago Noxa would likely have been hunting tonight. Attempting to find some meaty snack — something that wouldn’t be missed. Tonight, however, Noxa wouldn’t be doing the policemen’s job for them; she wouldn’t be playing ‘janitor’ to the petty crime the city suffered.
Tonight, the redheaded woman was going to mingle! Or, at least, that was the plan. Noxa had gone out of her way very early on the day to plan tonight out: she had gone shopping for clothes!
The shopping spree had brought something to her attention: the amount of money on Dirty Dan’s account was draining steadily. Either sales weren’t doing too great, or the damn artist Noxa had extorted was holding out on her! There was an annoying though in the back of her mind — that maybe Noxa had been pushed items that were a little on the expensive side. It was very possible; she wasn’t exactly aware of what prices were normal — much less which were ridiculous.
This meant Noxa would soon need a way to make money.
Regardless of the reason Noxa had to be smart about what she’d purchased. Not that it mattered — the idea of fashion was still somewhat foreign to her. If it wasn’t for a clerk’s guidance on what to buy it was likely Noxa wouldn’t be able to find something ‘fitting’.
Despite her doubts about her shopping experience, the Bio Woman had needed more than just clothes to fit in. The woman also utilized her ability to Shapeshift. While her physical appearance wasn’t altered TOO much, Noxa had changed her eyes just a little. Just enough to look Human. She removed the markings of her cheek, as well as her carapace.
Noxa browsed to town tonight feeling absolutely magical — her confidence boosted by the feeling of her new getup. Her shapeshifting abilities combined with her newly purchased outfit was sure to give Noxa plenty of social opportunities! All would surely flock to her now that she'd achieved the summit of aesthetic perfection!
Then came the rain.
By the time it had begun to rain Noxa had noticed a few people had taken out their umbrellas — which she swiftly entered a corner shop to buy. The rain didn’t bother her; neither did she mind her wet clothes. Still, it seemed to be ‘the norm’ to shield oneself from drizzle.
The idea of shrugging off valuable water almost annoyed the Bio Android, who had been designed for an arid world. To her what was currently falling from the sky was more valuable than gold. Still, considering the abundance of water on this planet, it was at the very least understandable.
Like everyone else, Noxa hid from the rain. Unlike many, however, her large pink umbrella, slightly over-decorated with white bunnies and stars, stood out like a sore thumb. It also subsequently meant that the woman wouldn’t be able to show off her new looks as much as she wanted. The umbrella was quite obtrusive.
The large lady walked, looking into store to store. She was supposed to mingle tonight. Observe. Learn. Still, it was hard to find something to learn about peering inside tech stores. What was she supposed to learn from any of this crap? The price of a 50” television? Just how dead stores were at this point at night?
The woman, slightly disappointed, stuffed a hand into her pocket; her main one still clung to the umbrella. Her eyes fixed on the floor. The wet pavement glistened. It reflected the flashy neon sights of the store-packed venue.
The redhead with a ridiculous umbrella walked aimlessly down the road, mesmerized by the beauty of the falling drizzle and its reflective ripples. So much so that Noxa eventually failed to realize just how far she wandered for the bustling lights and chattering people.
It wasn’t a good while until Noxa had regained awareness of her surroundings. By then the woman had long been turns away from her starting point — in fact she was damn near the outskirts of the city. Noxa turned away from the road, glancing up at the massive ‘Welcome To Satan City’ sign. A hint of disgust took grip of Noxa’s face. She didn’t know much about fashion, but she understood aesthetics just fine — and this thing was a damned eye sore! Hell, she had half a mind to blow this thing down! At least then she would have hope that a better one was put up. That would mean more restless nights, but at least there would’ve been some pay off to it.
“Tsk.” The woman sucked her teeth, turning away from the pompous sign. She looked down to see a shape. Someone had been staring at the sign — just like her, but across the street.
The overall shape was unmistakable: this was an Arcosian. The hint of disgust had faded by then, but her face was not host to a different mask: one of slight annoyance.
‘Just what was an Arcosian doing here? Didn’t they have planets to take over?’ The woman thought to herself. She had been programmed with a slight distaste for Arcosians, although that didn’t necessarily mean she’d outright attack one.
A thought ran through her mind: maybe this was Frigi — or was it ‘fridge’? —, the same Arcosian who Celmaru gave a beat down not too long ago.
The woman’s left hand rose from her pocket. It cupped to the side of her mouth. She projected her voice, calling out across the street.
“YO! FRIDGE!” Noxa decided to go with the name that sounded more ‘normal’ to her, “You broke out of jail already?!”
It wasn’t until Noxa had the idea to reach out and feel his ki that she began to have doubts about his identify. His power level was 100 — absolutely not enough to give Celmaru trouble… Or, maybe Frigi was just suppressing his goods. Trying to hide and avoid another ass whooping from the hybrid!
Noxa may have miscalculated the amount of interaction she'd been able to get from a shopping street in the middle of the night, but maybe her evening wasn't ruined just yet.

The rain continued pouring, the skies looking unrelenting. People passed by him ensuring not to make too much contact else suffer the unknown response from Verst. However a bright pink umbrella did catch his eye, garish and overly cute he shrugged it off as someone's inner child being expressed too much until that person shouted after him. Fridge!? he thought to himself, who does she think I am, Jail? Never been there, must be a case of mistaken identity, he could take advantage of this but that could back fire.
He turned around, streetlights glaring off the helmet and shoulders of his armor. "Who are you and what do you want from me? The name's Verst not Fridge." The words came out of his mouth, making the android seem more like a nuisance than a threat. He looked the figure up and down trying to inspect her noticing she was distinctively female, and more importantly human. Must just be a weakling trying to find someone else but something about her seemed off. That Umbrella... Regardless he approached her.

The hand used to add to the volume of her shout moved. It slid higher, until it sat just under her brow. Noxa leaned in a little, narrowing her eyes as she peered across the street. It was definitely an Arcosian — for sure. Although the voice that shot back at her claimed he WASN’T Fridge.
“H-hey, I’ll come over there! We’ll chat! It’l be g-r-e-a-t!” She exclaimed, almost taking a step before she noticed he was already moving over to her. “Oh, you’ll come over ‘ere? That’s cool! Don’t worry. I won’t go anywhere, mate!”
‘Mate’. Another word Noxa had picked up within the past few days of ‘studying’ human interaction; Noxa considered it studying, but someone who worked in law enforcement might consider it stalking or loitering. To her the word sounded great — albeit she hadn’t yet had the chance to try it out on a few other people. To Noxa ,for all she knew, it could’ve been a vile-sounding word.
Noxa watched as the menacing Arcosian approached. His white bio-armor and reflecting purple polish weren’t exactly what she’d pick for herself should she ever shapeshift into an Arcosian… But it looked great on him!
“Hmmm…” Her left hand lowered itself, fingers cupping around her chin. “Are you suuure you’re not Fridge? It’s hard to tell — all you Arcosians look the same to me. And you change all the time too, right? ‘Changelings’.”
The woman rolled her shoulders, moving closer to him as to bring him under her umbrella protection. “Don’t worry, Fridge. I won’t rat you out. You were kind of a douche bag last time we met — sorry for pelting you with ki blasts while you were unconscious… But, you know, you had it commin’. No hard feelins, right?”
A soft elbow came to bump against the Arcosian’s side. A playful little jab that was followed by a hearty chuckle.
Noxa went on, absolutely disregarding the Arcosian’s claim that he wasn’t fridge. “So, Fridge, where you headed to next? Gonna try and give Celmaru some payback? I hope not. I’d have to beat you up if it’s the case… But -- hey, instead of going out for juicy revenge… Why don’t we get some food?”
That was Noxa’s grand proposition — her way of making up to who she still believed was ‘Fridge’. Food. In reality Noxa didn’t give two damns about Fridge — she simply didn’t want to waste all of the effort she put into dressing up for tonight. She might as well have a nice meal and talk with someone. Even if it IS an Arcosian.
Noxa leaned into Verst or, as she saw him, ‘Fridge’. Her silky whispers came, “I know this place where they can let you eat however much you want for just like 100 zeni. It’s freakin’ great — I’m tellin' ya. Good food. Good price.” She straightened, “Hell, I’ll foot the bill for ya. Providing you’re not a jerk.”

"I'm quite sure I'm not this, 'Fridge' of which you speak, I am and always have been Verst. Who the hell is Celmaru, you have some strange ideas of how us Arcosians work. We're named that from our ability to change forms not faces. You still didn't answer my question, who are you?" Verst looked the strange woman up and down still slightly fixated on the distasteful umbrella.
"I wouldn't mind going for food, especially if it helps sorting out this whole situation." Verst remarked, hoping food would calm this bizarre person down. He was still wary, Unsure of how strong the residents here were, this woman could be stronger than him or far weaker. Only time would tell. However a free meal is never bad typically.
Verst was quite overwhelmed at how fast this creature was bombarding him with questions, but he felt like he should reply to the. Kind? Woman. It'd been a long time since he last complimented someone, even mentally. The thought made him shudder slightly.

This guy was pretty stand offish, but Noxa didn’t mind! His tough to crack exterior simply meant he had a night, nougatty interior! Figuratively, of course. Noxa would probably not think of trying to eat an Arcosian — she knew these guys were a pain in the ass. They are all pretty strong, which meant any confrontation between the two would set off alarms all over the city.
Noxa didn’t want to cause a scene.
Either way, he was definitely not Frigi. Or, as the redhead called him, ‘Fridge’. Now that she listened to the Arcosian talk for a little bit that much was clear enough. Frigi, from the little time she spent with him, had come off as a major jerk — even by Arcosian standards. He was a stuck up ass, who would probably have attacked Noxa by now anyway.
The Bio Android in a human guise began to move slowly.
“Let’s get going. I’m sure we can find some nice place to sit down, eat, and chat.”
Should the Arcosian take her offer, Noxa would begin to knock his questions down one by one.
“Celmaru? Oh, he is my teacher. He teaches me martial arts. His wife helps him teach me about society and social norms — humans are freaking confusing.” There was a distinct pause; Noxa realized her fuck up and promptly initiated ‘damage control’ mode. “I-I mean — we are! Us, humans. Like me; I’m a human. One-hundred percent. Earth-bound, born n’ raised. For sure.”
She let off a nervous laugh. A bead of sweat trickled down her forehead as the woman figuratively crossed her fingers. hoping that the strange Arcosian would buy that and not really question her slip of the tongue.
“A-anyway… Who am I? Why, I’m your friendly neighborhood redhead, of course!” She woman’s tone was returned to her previous upbeat cadence. “Sorry for not getting to your question earlier — I, uhh… Get a little too enthusiastic about social things sometimes.” Noxa assured him, though she still hadn’t given him a name. “What about you? You got a name?”
“Oh!” The woman would explode the bombastic vowel, “Here is another question; probably just as important: are you familiar with Earthly cuisine? Any idea what you’d like to eat? If nooot I could probably just take you to a buffet and we could go to town on the variety of stuff!”
At the mention of food Noxa subsequently hastened her gait. Her heels clicking just a tad bit faster against the wet sidewalk. The scarlet-haired woman let off a forced sigh; her breath visibly steamed in the air. “Kind of chili tonight, huh?” She mumbled, “Glad I have a coat… I’d ask you, but you guys can survive in space, right? I doubt this temperature even bothers you.”
