It wouldn't have taken long for Kaula to find herself regaining conciousness, but curiously enough it was not upon the soil of Vegeta, no there was something distinctively familiar to this scenery. The lush green forest that surrounded them, the familiar path that led along to a cottage and then the blue sky up above... This was clearly Earth, and the place she found herself in was Avalon. Yet, wasn't that place destroyed in those tragic events?
Kaula brought a hand up, scratching her head as she looked around. It was hard to believe she was back on Earth again. Was she.. Dead? She couldn't really remember. She slowly stood up, sighing, as she started to stretch lightly.
Yet only a few moments afterwards a familiar presence could be sensed, and a soft voice greet her, a gentle and sweet tone that usually seemed reserved for just her.
"Welcome home my dear~"
Yes, it was Reikiko, yet there was something different about her. Her body seemed to had become a bit smaller in height, her hands and feet looking more human in shape, and her carapace seemed to barely cover her body!
She knew that voice! She was expecting to see Rei, though.. Her cheeks reddened as she saw the state of her clothing.. Armor? Bone? Whatever it was. She never really found out. "H-.. Hey." she responded quietly as she looked down at herself. She was still in her armor. It was damaged, it's entire left side had been cracked and broken away from the battle.
Wether or not it was real, the mocha colored Saiyaness stepped forward. She tried to instantly wrap her arms around her wife. Her eyes shut tight. This was real, right? Was the fighting real? Was this? She wasn't sure. However, she was rather happy that she had gotten a chance to at least see- no, touch her lover again.
The hug that followed clearly seemed to make Reikiko happy, her lips curving up into a warm smile as she wrapped her arms around her, gently resting her cheek against Kaula's own while she whispered softly.
"I guess the fact that I'm able to talk to you like this again... means that the fighting has ended."
The words seemed to carry a weight of sadness with them, yet that didn't explain where they were, or how they were even talking! Was this heaven?
Kaula's smile had slowly turned to a frown. So.. The fighting was real. She gave a slow nod, "Yes.." is all she managed to answer. She choked on the word. It was.. Almost hard to believe. She let out a sigh, "I.. Ended it on my own terms, I guess you could say." she said quietly, taking a step back, though keeping her arms around her.
A short snicker came from Reikiko at those words, replying to Kaula's statement in a bit of a bemused tone. "I guess we truly are alike on that matter."
"Yeah. Guess we are.." Kaula agreed, smiling as she stared lovingly at Rei for a second. "So.." she paused, loooking around again, "We're.. Dead? Or something? Is this.. Heaven? I'm not gonna lie. Little surprised that I'm here.." she explained, the Saiyaness eventually looking back at the scantily clad Bio Android. However, surprisingly enough Reikiko shook her head gently in response to the question. "Sorry to disappoint you my love, I actually was send to hell... This place is umm..." She paused for a moment, as if she was trying to find the right words to speak. "A place between life and death. I'm only able to talk to you like this because of our powerful connection. It's for that reason, the very origin of our bond that this place has taken the shape of where everything began for us."
Of course this explanation made Kaula scratch her head lightly, her brow furrowing as she attempted to understand. "Between life and death?" she asked as she let out a sigh. "So I'm both.. Dead but not really right now.. That's.. Annoying to say the least." Kaula said, a bit disgruntled. She didn't want to be stuck here, that's for sure. "So.. Is hell any good, at least? Do they have apples?" The little complain that Kaula made stirred a grin from Reikiko while she explained to her cheerfully. "It's only for a bit my dear, you'll arrive in the afterlife soon." However, as the question followed about Hell and apples she paused for a moment, her cheeks flushing up as she whispered embarrassed. "They don't have apple trees, but they do have a really weird fruit in Hell. With the help of someone who allowed me to reclaim my body I... tried to find out what they tasted like. Really yummy! In fact I'm feeling more powerful than ever... but in Kami's name, I was so drunk you would have laughed yourself silly at the things that happened." Kaula simply chuckled at the explanation, "Maybe I'll have to try them myself sometime soon?" she said with a wink, "We can get drunk on weird hell fruit together."
Still, shortly after she laughed softly her expression turned more sorrowful.
"But no, for one like me Hell is a great risk. Although I drawn the attention of a really powerful prince, one who could teach me the secrets I need to obtain true power, the power to protect you and our family..." She paused for a bit, and for the first time it seemed that she displayed an emotion Kaula had not seen since Reikiko had been a child: fear... "It's a dangerous place my dear... Even now I feel my heart struggling with the darkness that was stirred by the actions of Zucceta." Perhaps that would explain why the previously pure white carapace had now become almost grey in color. "The only thing that drives me onwards, the thing that keeps me from succumbing to the darkness is our bond. The feeling that you're here, that I can still be at your side. But I'm scared Kaula. Although our love is a beacon of strength for me, I fear what will happen the day I lose it... the day I lose the chance to embrace you, to feel safe in your warmth, for it is at that day, when I truly lost everything I hold dear that it will become a 'True Hell'." Kaula had stayed silent during the explanation. She just paused a little bit, exhaling softly before her right hand came up, delivering a light karate chop to Reikiko after she said that. "You can't get rid of me that easily. I mean.. We're both together here. We'll both be in the after life together. And hell, you know that fool you ate? What was his name.. Athren? Apparently he had come back to life. So if some loser like that can come back to life, you can bet your ass if I die before you sometime that it'll be a few days before I'm back. You know I'm just that awesome."
She dropped her shoulders a little, yet tried to force a smile. "I guess you could say Hell by itself isn't that bad, it's more the consequences that send one here. It's difficult you know, although my heart is skipping beats of joy at being able to talk to you, I also feel it is burdened with darker emotions at those who hurt us so much."
She sighed, looking up at the blue sky again. She kind of missed it, being on Vegeta for so long. All that red and pink tends to get a bit.. Boring compared to Earth's vibrant beauty. "Well.. At least it's not too bad. Besides. Don't feel too bad. I'm like.. Seventy six percent sure that they probably can't hurt us all the way back here, you know?" Reikiko blinked for a moment at the statement, before asking with a little wink. "You want to stay here instead then?" Yet, right after Kaula would have started speaking she teasingly poked out her tongue at the jest. "Just kidding, we got someone to pick up on Earth don't we?"
Kaula just chuckled in response, "Well it wouldn't be that bad. But yeah, you're right. We do have someone to go.. Get.." Kaula's voice had been a bit upbeat but she slowly trailed off. She stepped away, hands coming up to grip at her face for a moment, "DAMNIT!" she growled.
"Mom-.. Sh-.." she stuttered for a moment as she recalled the last few moments of her own death. Her mother was there. Was she okay? Was she still alive. Kaula just stood there before she let out a soft 'huh'. Her hands dropped down to her side as she sighed, "Mom showed up.. After you.." she paused a few seconds, shaking her head, "I don't know if she's.. Okay or not. I don't know yet." The words that were spoken caused Reikiko to show a hint of sorrow and regret, a hand lifted to kindly rest it on Kaula's shoulder. "If she was to harm your mother, she would harm the empire. While I doubt your mother will be following after us, the worst case if she does we make it a Flawhur family trip and bust everyone out of here?" She asked softly, yet after a moment she started to speak again. "There is something I need to tell you Kaula, or rather... something I wish to ask of you."
Kaula, however, relaxed a bit after Reikiko's soft words. The Saiyaness exhaled loudly as she shook her head some, "Y-.. You're right. I believe." She took in a deep breath before exhaling again. Her emerald eyes eventually glanced back at the woman. "Yeah? What's up, Rei?" Reikiko took a deep breath, finally deciding to explain what had been burdening her. "While I desire revenge for the things that happened today, there is one thing I care more even more than my grudge, and that is you. I... plan to learn a technique, an ability that according to the rumors would make me able to defeat even that accursed queen in one fell swoop. However..." She paused for a moment, the hand that had been resting on Kaula's shoulder lowering to her hand, and guiding it to rest upon her chest. "This power comes at a great cost. If the Kikoho is said to demand your life, then this technique is likely going to demand my mind. From what I learned it seems that in exchange for great power, it will feast upon my darker emotions, making them grow stronger. I... experienced one such moment during my training today. It's an intense power, but it feels like I lose a grip on everything I care for, almost as if I become submerged in the rage an Ascended Supah Saiyajin feels." Yet despite the worried tone she smiled when she finally voiced her request. "I know if there is anyone who can bring me back from the deepest reaches of the darkness, then it is you Kaula. This power... I want to master it for the sake of becoming a sword for our revenge, but also a shield to protect you and Letu... However, I..."
A moment of silence followed as she whispered. "Want you to promise me that you'll ensure I never become a slave to it. I'm confident no power, corruption or temptation would make me hurt you, I'd rather die before committing such a taboo. I guess depending on how bad it is just give me a strong smooch or a very nasty punch and I'm sure I'll get out of it."
Kaula remained silent the whole time she listened. Something like the kikoho..? But stronger. Seemed impossible. However, she talked about the darker emotions. Kaula nodded a few times in understanding. She knew that. She knew the rage she spoked of.
Kaula just exhaled again, blowing some air on Rei's face before cracking her a smile, "Pshaw." is all she'd say, "You won't end up like that. And I'll make sure you damn well won't. You got that, Rei? Because you need to understand that for if it starts happening and I totally kick your ass because of it." she said with a wink before giving Rei a kiss on the cheek. "So you're.. Okay in hell, right? You said you're training under some prince? He ain't hittin' on you or anything? Or is he some little brat of a prince. Does he have a palace or anything? I bet if he does.. It totally looks cool."
A giggle followed as her cheeks reddened a little, and soon Reikiko replied in an amused tone. "It's a prince, not a princess so you got nothing to fear. Even if she was of the fairer sex, I wouldn't really think of getting another expansion to our little 'family'" Such a lovely term for a harem, wasn't it? "But yes, he is pretty much hmm... a demon Etoru!" She laughed at her joke before she shook her head, thinking about Kaula's comment. "I should ask him sometime, maybe he has a palace hidden somewhere. Albeit you might want to be careful Kaula, I'm umm... dealing with a stalker right now." The last sentence was said in a rather amused tone, but at the same time she also sounded a bit exhausted at the teasing remark. Kaula snickered out a little bit as she heard the demon Etoru part. "Right right.." she said, "So a little brat. I'll be sure to say that when I meet him. Or should I act surprised instead?" she mused, chuckling softly. Though an eyebrow was raised. "A stalker? What kind. Should I beat the shit out of them or something. Because I will. And it'll be eeeaaasy." At Kaula's remarks the bio-android waved a hand, as if trying to deny the offer. "Best act surprised, and this stalker... I dunno, she is some type of demon girl, seems to be a fan of us. However, for some weird reason she has records of all sorts of stuff we did! I umm... think she is a dangerous type in her own way. However, she seems quite helpful, helped me find my way around hell and regain my strength. But she is a hopeless pervert, worse than the two of us combined." She teasingly poked out her tongue at the remark.
"So is there.. Anything else I should really know about this After Life stuff? Anyone I'm going to meet? Anything I'm going to need. Like, did I have to die with my zeni on me? Because I am eighty percent sure I left my wallet at mom's house. And if there's like.. Some kind of charge to get in, I'm pretty sure I'm screwed." Kaula said, half joking as she stuck her tongue out. Reikiko seemed to ponder for a moment before she whispered softly. "That's going to be a problem... You actually need to pay to get inside, well I did pay for you in advance, BUT I'm totally going to make you work for that money 'the fun way.' She teasingly winked at her joke before continuing. "After you wake up you'll find yourself in a weird place, lots of spirits heading into this big building... You'll be guided along with the others where some big and rather amusing guy called King Yemma will judge you, pretty much the usual stuff you might expect." Still, after a moment she seemingly decided to reveal a more dire thing: "That pretty body of yours... We can only talk like this right now because of the nature of this dream, but once it's over... you'll be in for a little surprise. Just, don't enjoy it for too long, I'm rather fond of my sexy wife's body."
Humming teasingly at the joke it seemed that Reikiko had at least regained some of her usual cheerfulness.
Kaula could only chuckle from the joke. She had, at first, believed her. Of course until it was mentioned she had to pay the fun way. That's what tipped her off. The pointed eared girl rolled her eyes as she huffed out, "Haha. Very funny." she muttered out softly. She brought her hand up, nervously running her hands through her hair again. She nodded a few times, though. "So.. Big building. Lots of other spirits. Big guy. Is he why the building's big?" Kaula asked, sticking her hands on her hips. "I think I'd assume so. But.. Anyway. Speaking of bodies. What's.. Uh.. Why are you looking like this?" she asked as she motioned to the near nakedness of her wife. "Is this because it's my dream or something?" she asked, her head tilted to the side ever so slightly.~
At the question Reikiko's smile seemed to return to a mischievous smirk at the question surrounding her looks. "Yes, this look of mine is entirely because of your secret desires. I didn't think you had such naughty thoughts you wanted to see me like this even outside the bedroom." A short pause followed before she shook her head. "This is my true form Kaula, the one I possess as a result of all the power I gathered over the last three years. Although I could adjust my carapace to cover more but..." She suddenly stepped closer, teasingly pressing up her body against Kaula's own while whispering seductively. "You seem to be enjoying this too much... Perhaps a temptation to make you regain your strength in the afterlife. Nevertheless, the big guy is the reason why the building is big. And 'big' is an understatement for that guy..."
Kaula blushed as she heard the whole mention of 'secret desires'. Hey now, it wasn't her fault or anything. She had needs. And sometimes she'd like to think about them while she had some alone time. That wasn't too bad. But, of course. This was another joke. Kaula just chuckled a little bit. "So.. You'll start looking like that soon?" she asked as she crossed her arms. "I like it." as for the big guy.. However, Kaula simply chuckled, "So.. I guess I shouldn't call him fat or whatever. That would be bad. Probably. Pretty sure."
However, Kaula seemed to start to be fading out. "I.. Uhh.." she paused glancing down, frowning. "I suppose I'm about to wake up or whatever?" she asked. "Am I.. Going to remember this at all, Rei? Or do you.. Not know?" At the question Reikiko shook her head, explaining in a cheerful tone. "This isn't merely a dream Kaula, so yes you will remember... if not..." As her body started to fade Reikiko's embrace seemed to follow a final time, but this time without any reservations she gently pressed her lips against those of the Saiyan hybrid, a simple yet warm-filled gesture when finally she stepped backwards, licking her lips with a smirk. "I'm sure you'll remember that~ Do not keep me waiting too long, I'm a girl with needs of my own, and those needs kind of need you."
Yet as she winked and the dream started to fade away the last words followed, a bittersweet message.
"I'll be waiting for you Kaula."
Kaula.. Wasn't sure how long she had been in line. She wasn't positive about anything. Last thing she remembered, besides the dream she had shared with Reikiko.. She was fighting on Vegeta. She tried to clench her fists but something didn't feel right. She felt.. So light. Weightless, even. Though it was different from space. Space weightlessness and whatever this was..? This was different. She tried to look at herself and all she saw was.. Puffiness. It was like she.. Didn't have a body at all? Was this that weird surprise Reikiko was talking about? Her accounts of the dream were a bit fuzzy.. As was the fight that had happened on Vegeta.
She closed her eyes, thinking back to the fight now that she had a calm mind. She had.. Ascended past Super Saiyan. To that.. That form. The form the queen had. She don't know what had come upon her. She had just.. Seen.. Reikiko.. Kaula paused as she recalled that painful memory. She wanted to cry.. But no tears came out.. She wanted to power up, to lash out at the pain that was caused at her to ascend but she found she didn't really have anything to flail. So she just sorta.. Floated there for now. "Well.. This is depressing.." she mumbled to herself. However her voice.. Something was clearly wrong with it. It was higher pitched, squeaky even. She knew this would likely be laughably adorable if it happened to others, but to her? She just plain didn't like it.
At least it managed to lighten up her mood some. For now, she seemed to pace back in forth in the line, bumping into a couple of rather annoyed spirits every now and then. It seemed she was in front of some type of giant building. And she was at least close to the end of the line. That was nice.. She just felt like.. The line ended inside of the building. A big building. This was the huge building Rei was talking about, right? Well.. Probably. It had to be. Only one.. And it was giant. probably had the big dude Reikiko was talking about. That king dude.
She continued to glance around before she noticed someone.. With a body! They had an actual body! Granted they looked like some kind of demon? Being all blue.. And.. with horns. Kinda like Letu's horns. It was weird. Despite the.. Rather odd look, the woman was dressed decently at least, if not a little nerdishly. A simple button down blouse and a pencil skirt. It was.. Alright. Not to Kaula's liking, but alright. When she neared her while in the line she continued to stare. "So.. Where am I..?" she asked as she tilted her head at the creature. She looked a bit surprised, fumbling with her clipboard. "You are waiting in line to be judged." she said, glancing at the spirit before looking back at his clipboard. He flipped through the papers a few moments before she stuttered out. "Wait. Are y-.. Are you Kaula the Fourth?"she asked, clearly a little bit excited, as she stared at the cloud. She tried to nod, however noticing that she was only bobbing up and down a little bit.
"Yeeeess..?" she eventually replied, a bit confused, for sure. "Wow!" she immediately replied, "It is so amazing to actually meet you!" she started though paused as he had eventually realized what he had said. "I-.. Well I mean it's amazing to meet you but it's not amazing that you are here. I was watching your fight. You were awesome!" she said as she went to smile, "I had to start working before you uhh.. You know.. Ended up here." he explained, "But it's all the buzz. First Reikiko, then you here now. Two of the strongest warriors in centuries. Up here. Big stuff has been happening. Lots of big stuff." Kaula blinked.. Well.. At least she knew Reikiko was here. She breathed a sigh of relief as she seemed to relax. "Here. Step out of the line, you can move up front whenever you want. You're kind of a big deal with all that's been going on. Reikiko had to have Ogre Supervision, after all. Bit too powerful to be allowed to wander around freely. Can't have her tearing through some important walls or whatever. That'd be pretty bad." Kaula simply listened as she floated out of the line, "So.. I gotta ask. Who did you in? Was it Bing or Zucceta? I mean, you were even footing with the queen, but Bing on the other hand.. He had some power behind him." she asked, a bit nervous of course. Kaula took some time. She had to take this all in. She was.. Actually dead? She.. Lost..? So the dream she had.. Was real. Alright. She sighed, "It was more myself." she said, floating with the ogre girl as they approached the front of the line. "Used the kikoho technique too much. I almost killed the queen myself. Bing.. Stopped it, sadly." she muttered. "Well that sucks. Anyway. Up front.. Just tell him about your greatest deed and your worst deed. That's all. Also, don't lie. He can tell if you lie. It will make it a lot worse. So. Again. To say. Don't lie." the ogress responded. Kaula simply huffed out, "Alright, I understand." she said before continuing on with her new found line cutting abilities.. She found herself before the massive desk. The HUGE desk. And behind it, the same massively large man.
She shrugged. So her greatest and worst deed? She could do that. It was easy. Probably. Should start with her worst.
Kaula paused as she recalled. She hadn't done.. A whole lot of evil. Yeah, she killed some people. First ones being those two kids back when she was a child. Yeah, they were children. That was bad. But she was also a child. And, in her defense.. It was self defense. Her next thought was of that Arcosian. Yeah.. That was probably it. The cloud gave a few nods. That was definately her worst deed. Now for her best?
She exhaled. Well.. She did.. A lot. Recently she saved Vegeta from being blown up. She let the person who was going to blow it up just walk away, granted he was a friend. But still, it was the thought that counted. No. No no. It was neither of those. Her memory went back to Earth. Earth was the key that held her good deed. Or, should she say deeds. She had helped defend the planet. Twice. Once from the scourge that was Realigner Red. The other time was against the Saiyan Empire. She had to abandon her people to protect her second home. It was a tough choice.
She sighed. She knew her choices. The squeaky voiced cloud spoke out with all her might. "Right! I was told how this works. My name is Kaula. I died on Vegeta fighting the queen and the bastard bot she made from Earth's kami after they killed my wife. My worst deed is killing a few people. Most was done in self defense. One was done because he was doing something that would have brought doom to the planet, probably, and he refused to listen to reason. He wanted to gather the dragon balls right when the robot demanded them. He would have just taken them from them." Kaula explained. She took in a breath. "My greatest deeds is the defense of the planet Earth. I protected it from threats twice. Once against the robot known as Realigner Red. And once when I had to abandon the Saiyan Solar Empire to fight against the queen herself in the North City, with the Kami of Earth." Kaula stated before she just kept.. Floating there. Nothing else she could do right now other than wait. One thing was for certain, though. She hated being a cloud.
