Vi-Poi Thread PL: 50,282 The large, bulky wooden creature flew over the city of West Capitol, scanning the streets for the logo of the Blue Banner Army. He had come to locate a friend of his father's, one Virtual Poi, or Administrator Azure. The artificial life form did not have any Ki signature, so it would require a more circuitous approach. Landing outside a marked building, one labeled "Recruiting Station", he moved towards the doors, stopping in front of them with his arms folded behind his back. Inside, there was some activity, and then a man exited, wearing a military uniform and looking distinctly uncomfortable. "Umm... are you... Freelancer Walker?" He looked more than a little confused. Apparently his father's appearance was reasonably well known. That, or there had previously only been one Verdant for them to observe. Shaking his head slowly, Bastion stared down. In a deep, rumbling voice, he growled out "I am here to speak with Administrator Azure. Can you please contact him?" The man stared, then shook his head briefly, snapping back to focus. "I... I guess I can put in a call, but... it'll be a while, probably?" Bastion nodded. "These terms are acceptable. I can wait." He was in telepathic contact with Slither, the serpent acting as a temporary lookout while the Verdant was away on this mission. He stood in the street, waiting off to one side of the building. His legs spread and arms behind his back, he seemed far more military than his parent. All that remained was to wait for Vi-Poi.

Vi-Poi was standing on a bank of computers, silently interfacing with the latest probe that had been flashed to Kanassa. Before it self-destructed, it relayed images of the dark tree. It'd grown to a tremendous size, eclipsing the Kanassan capital until nothing was left. The diminutive android's mood was sober. Another planet would be lost to the voracious hunger of the Saiyans and their queen.
"A-Administrator, sir?" A voice beamed into his ear. Vi-Poi back-tracked the call. It was from the West Region Headquarters hotline, their offices located at surface level several hundred meters above him.
"What is it now?" Vi-Poi asked, still gloomily observing the figure of the tree.
"A talking tree is here to see you.”
The android’s pale brow furrowed. But that was impossible. News of Walker’s demise had reached him days ago.
“Put the Evacuation Protocol on standby. I’ll be there shortly.” Vi-Poi ordered, swiftly moving to the elevator, wirelessly keying in his destination.
Half a kilometer and four blast doors later Vi-Poi arrived in the lobby.
The entity looked a good deal like Walker, and ki analytics even agreed, but there were slight variations as well. The tree’s stance was alert and active, but not hostile.
“I didn’t know that Walker could make saplings.” Vi-Poi ventured a guess, walking over to extend a slender hand high towards the tree in greeting. “I’m Virtual Poi, Administrator of Blue Banner Army.” The thought of condolences briefly crossed his mind, but he dismissed it. Biotic machines, in his experience, tended to be less sentimental than their natural counterparts. White cross-hairs intersected in his large blue irises, reading a very strong battle rating of fifty thousand. He should ask if this offspring could grow an orchard.
“I met with your progenitor sometime ago.” The android explained, before stepping out towards the double doors of the lobby. “We walked through a park. There’s one around the block, quite a good one.” He gestured with a smile. “West Capitol has gotten used to… unconventional beings in their midst since the War. I’m sure we won’t turn so many heads.” He offered.

Bastion turned as Vi-Poi moved closer, hearing the Android's words and nodding slightly. "Indeed. It was only a recent development, sir" His voice, unlike Walker's professorial cadence, was that of a military man... or tree. In fact, it almost sounded like BBA style officer speech. Knowingly or not, Walker had made his first son in the partial image of Vi-Poi's defenders of Earth. The tree saluted the Administrator, turning and following him as he moved away from the building.
"I apologize for the intrusion. I have yet to acquire a more reliable method of contacting people like my father had. I assume you are aware of his recent absorption by Lady Rei, sir?" Hopefully that hadn't been misunderstood as a hostile act. He wasn't sure how much intel about the event had spread, but it was reasonable to believe there had been confusion about what exactly occurred. In addition to that, he had a few questions for the BBA leader about what was to come.
Moving slowly along, he paused in his speech, uncertain of how to proceed. "Before I go any further, I must ask... the BBA is the current standing military, for all intents and purposes. What is it's policy on other forces? I know there are the Z-Fighters, but..." Trailing off, he sighed. "I apologize, I shall cease being coy. My father created me, his "Son", shortly before his death. I have many memories of his, and thus I intend to continue a project of his. Soldiers, to defend the earth. Currently, only a few of the first grunts have finished growing, the elites and commanders still not ready. These grunts have a power level of 5,000. Squad Leaders.... perhaps twice that. I would be a Century commander, as I am now. The Legates, the position I intend to achieve, would have Power Levels over 150,000."
He stopped, looking down at Vi-Poi. He sounded worried of offending. "The goal is to have additional warriors to counteract the Saiyan's, but I am concerned they would be seen as a threat. Hence why I wished to speak with you ahead of time." The Legion was still in it's infancy, and discovering the nascent army of defenders would anger the BBA would be a fatal misunderstanding. "If you wish, I can call a few of the existing legionnaires here, so that you may speak with them, sir." Standing at attention, he waited for Vipoi's response.

Vi-Poi listened to everything the son of Walker said, recording it all and analyzing it with a fine-tooled suite. His words seemed genuine, though it was hard to tell with a Bioandroid. “A demonstration is not necessary.” The android said finally as they walked under the shade of the trees at the nearby park. Some families gathered on the greens, and more than one child paused to stare bewildered at the walking tree before being hustled away swiftly by their parent.
“You seem to have a high organization in mind.” Vi-Poi said after a moment, folding his arms and stopping to peer up at a great live oak, whose top branches had taken centuries to grow to its lofty height. “Blue Banner Army will work in conjunction with other Earth-based forces. It is our policy to create a shared defense space to all those willing to lend a hand.” He said carefully. “But we should hold the lead. There must be a clear chain of command in any military operation, lest there be a lack of coordination and an increase in confusion should the Saiyans attack again.”
“This old tree.” He said tilting his head towards it. “It has many branches, all pulling away from the main trunk. The trunk is the oldest part of it, and used to be but a small green shoot amid the rest of the grass. Blue Banner can be the trunk to your branch.” He offered.

It sounded reasonable enough to the military-minded tree. Vi-Poi had a point, after all. If everyone just did whatever they wanted, the earth's defenses would be fractured and unusable. Bowing to Vi-Poi, he straightened and nodded. "That sounds perfectly fine, sir. I would be happy to serve alongside the Blue Banner. I admit, I do not think it would be possible to fully join. But if Earth is attacked, I will happily follow your lead, sir."
Bastion shuffled slightly, looking about. He wasn't quite sure what to say. Vipoi was staggeringly strong, and possibly earth's next ruler besides. He wasn't sure what to say to such a figure, and he hadn't expected things to go that easily, if he was honest.
