Zuni“She’s this way!” “For the Queen!” “She burnt my shoe!” There were cries all over the Radittsu Distract as soldiers from all classes and designations were dispatched to find the outlaw saiyaness. At first, everything had gone swimmingly from the dock to meeting the captain of the inspection squad. That was… until… By the gods, Arti, why didn’t you TELL me they might recognize you!? It’s bad enough that I had to be seen with an apparent ‘enemy’ of the Empire! If she had to be honest, Zerori didn’t blame Articho as much as she blamed the fact that the saiyans she’d known five years ago were not as ‘simplistic’ as she had thought them to be. Currently, Zerori was hiding out in a small meat shack, storage for the saiyan food processing as she waited out the patrols to move along. After about twenty minutes of slouching in the darkness of the forgotten storehouse, freezing thoroughly, she took a hesitant step out and checked the coast. When all seemed clear, Zerori smirked nervously, “Damn, my heart is racing. How long has it been since I’ve hidden from the enforcers like this?” If she wasn’t at risk for execution if she was caught, it would have felt almost affectionately nostalgic. Walking the streets of the district, once a home to her in the past, Zerori kept her eyes out for any surprise attacks while also making it a game to herself to try an recognize any parts of the neighborhood that seemed familiar. When a particular section caught her attention, passing an intersection of the sub-district, she stopped and stared at the saiyan numerals that seemed obvious to her. It really hasn’t changed at all, She noted with a sad frown. “Guess it wouldn’t hurt to check it out, see if my shit’s still there.”

"Well now, that's where you'd be wrong."
Zuni's voice was quite cheerful as she addressed Zerori. Simply popping up from behind the mighty warrior, she actually gave a little twirling step as she came around to stand in front of the other woman. Despite the way that her opening gambit could have been taken, there's no sign in her attitude or her energy that she actually wants to cause the taller woman any harm.
The demon was wearing, as is her wont, a different skin that day; a half-saiyan with brilliantly orange hair and flashing golden eyes, young, and with all the impetuousness of youth written over her grinning lips. She can't be more than sixteen years of age, can she? And yet, she moves with the confidence and grace of an experienced warrior... or, perhaps, a thief. Given that she's wearing the classic form-fitting blue bodysuit Saiyan Elites tend to favour beneath their armour, and a pale grey shawl over the top, that seems more likely.
"If you take a trip down memory lane, I promise you'll be caught in an instant. You've led them on a merry chase so far, why spoil the fun by provoking a fight? Come on."
Zuni tipped her head towards a dank-looking alleyway. From behind, the stark nature of her tail is truly impressive; the same shockingly bright shade as her hair, and tied all over with bright yellow ribbons. With a carefree wave, she indicated that the other woman really ought to come with her. It was only when she got to the mouth of the alleyway that she paused, and looked back over her shoulder, still grinning from ear to ear.
"If you're worried, I promise, you can trust me. Cross my tail and hope not to die. I'm taking a risk just hanging out with a wanted felon like you, y'know! This much trash can interfere with their scouters, and if you don't want to make things uncomfortable for all of us, that's exactly what you're going to want to do."

The hairs of her tail rose at the voice, prompting Zerori to freeze for a moment before whirling around on whomever had spoken. When a body came twirling to her front side, the saiyaness blinking rapidly at the strange occurrence, stared at the warrior in front of her with open confusion. Is this… how the saiyans ambush people now? She was trying so very hard not to judge the Queen right now… Her garb didn’t really scream ‘elite’ at her but the blue spandex couldn’t be mistaken, leaving the shawl for Zerori to guess the rank of the warrior. The orange hair made Zerori think hybrid or some other kind of species, golden eyes shining with a familiar mischievousness. “Is that right?” Zerori mumbled, her eyes dead-panned in curiosity. She continued, informing Zerori that she would definitely be caught should she decide to check out her old home and Zerori… had to be grudgingly agree with her. A thousand zeni says she’s knows where they are and where I’m going to need to go! Walking away from Zerori, the strange hybrid gallivanted over to the mouth of a dark alley, an ago-old friend of her run-away life, before looking around the streets and following after her. “If this is a trap, I’m going to make you regret it…” Zerori growled lowly, her cerulean eyes narrowed in suspicion. That was when the female turned around and brandished a very wide grin at the saiyaness, eliciting a shudder in the woman. So that’s what that feels like, before she just placed a hand at her lips with a vicious “Shhhhhh! Fine, I’m going – I’m going!” She whispered silently before following. As she entered the alley, her hip brushing against a can, she quickly grabbed the side of it before it could fall and let out a soft sigh of relief. Placing it back, she looked up at the girl, giving the ribbon’s a disgusting grimace, “I don’t even know you and I think is might be your worse idea yet! Where are you even taking me, assuming-,” She grinned cheekily, “-you’re not just leading me into an ambush so you can get the credit?” She really hoped she didn’t just give the girl ammunition. “Zerori, by the way. Seems everyone knows my face already.”

"Oh please." Zuni actually rolled her eyes at the other woman, shrugging her shoulders, "If I wanted to sell you out, I'd do it where you'd never know! Like I'd put myself in arms reach of someone like you, what am I, an idiot?"
She kept walking along the alleyway, pursing her lips as she went. Her tail swished from side to side as she does. "Besides, you're right, you don't know me. I've had way worse ideas than this."
As she walks along, Zuni's boots splash through the gross and disgusting garbage-water that fills the alleyway, and worse... she didn't seem particularly put off by that! Instead, her hands trailed across the wall and the slime that covered it, her eyes narrowing as she goes. It had been a very long time since she'd been in this area, but the neighbourhood is an older one still, and if she remembered just right...
"Ahah!"
One of the bricks slid into the wall under her touch, and the door swung inwards. The scent is horribly musty; this room hadn't been opened in, well, an incredibly long time. The girl ducked inside, and the moment she did, a light flared up brilliantly to fill the space with eerie light.
The room itself was a quiet space, insulated from the outside world and really very bare. Mostly, it was just bare brickwork in a room perhaps ten feet by ten feet wide. There was also a bright pink monkey face splattered on the wall in paint; though the ages have not been kind to it, and the paint had largely peeled away to a faded remnant of its former glory.
"Hurry up." Zuni urged the woman, "Saiyans tend to get bored after a few hours. We can hide out here over night, and in the morning, you can go and do whatever you like. They'll probably have brawled themselves into unconsciousness or drunk themselves stupid by then."
Of course, within the eerie light, even Zuni's disguised 'normal' form looks a little bit eerie. Those brilliant eyes of hers, that wide smile and her swishing tail... there's no getting away from the fact that the demoness is weird. And what's all that stuff about saiyans? She's not exactly being very complimentary about her planetary hosts!

Zerori narrowed her eyes at the strange saiyan, tilting her head. “Okay, you have a point but fuck you,” As much of an idiot as this saiyan was apparently not, she sure didn’t have any qualms of talking to her like an idiot. As she followed the saiyan, catching note of her saying that she had way worse ideas than this Zerori couldn’t help herself and mumbled, “Care to share? I’m sure we can paint our toenails and talk about boys while we regale each other with stories of how terrible our ideas are,” What was it about this saiyan that brought out the rogue in her?
Walking along the sewage and waste was easily counted as one the least favorite things Zerori enjoyed, feeling some of the water seep into her boots as she took a step that was a little deeper than ankle height. “Ugh, Fuckin’,” She grumbled, shooting a glare while she paused and shook the water off. Looking at the saiyan, she seemed… FINE with this? Just who the hell was leading her to god-knows-where? “Why does this seem-?” She would have continued with ‘seemed normal to you?’ but when a wall was prompted open by some sort of secret passage, the hybrid would just look at the receding wall and then glance back at the her with the most speechless expression before she closed her mouth and shook her head, “No, let’s just go,” More to herself, rather than to the wayward saiyan.
Leering inside, Zerori took in the rather plain décor with a raised brow. Sure, on the run you don’t have time to critique the staying arrangements but… what WAS here to critique anyway? Her gaze pulled to the worn pink painting, she snorted, “I get the feeling you don’t like it here. H-How long exactly have you been hiding from these saiyans?”
Walking inside, she had to watch her own tail as she inspected the place. Picking a wall close to the door, just in case, Zerori started with the hard question. “So… why’d you help me? Besides being a felon on the run, I don’t see what I could do for you,” She then shrugged at the overall area, “Aside from… you know, some decoration tips. Nice monkey, by the way. Could be less pink and more red, if you don’t mind my saying.” Her grin was absolutely facetious as she brought her arms up to fold behind her head, getting comfortable.

"Life isn't just about getting what you can from other people, you know."
The mischievous young woman smirked as she closed the wall back up behind them. The light was revealed to come from several small stones set into the ceiling.
"I'm helping you out because you and me are ... kindred spirits, of a sort. See. Most of the people on this planet talk a bunch about how independent and prideful they are, but when push comes to shove, they just fall in lock step behind the strongest monkey in the room."
Zuni's expression grew extremely sour at that, and she leant up against the wall she had just closed, folding her arms underneath her chest and letting her tail flick around behind her to signify her frustration.
"That annoys me. As far as I'm concerned, if you're only going to live your life doing what other people tell you to do, you might as well be dead! So, when I heard about your little trouble with the law, I thought I'd lend you a helping hand. There's not many people left on this rock who would even consider standing up to the Elite. The Queen has tightened her grip pretty hard over the past few months."
She gave a nod towards the wall, then, at the painted face that Zerori had commented on.
"Anyway. I'm an ... archaeologist, of sorts. I'm not really interested in talking about boys, but if you want to talk about history, we could try that. Tell me, what do you know about the being they call ... Zuni Vukong?"

At the halfling’s words, Zerori would raise an eye brow and tilt her head to the side. Being no stranger to generosity, in her wholesome opinion, Zerori could accept the reasoning behind her help. However, as she listened further to the woman speak she would smirk softly. Falling into step behind the strongest saiyan? Yeah, that sounded like the saiyan way of thinking but she couldn’t help but feel… like this one was missing something important. Stretching, Zerori responded lazily, “Yeah, I don’t much think I’m like most saiyans on this planet either but,” She paused, “What if I told you that that type of thinking, following in step behind one more powerful than you, was the only way to survive?” She waved her hand dismissively, “Don’t get me wrong, I couldn’t give a fuck about certain kinds of people like that!” She grinned sardonically at the woman. Looking away from the hybrid as she continued to speak, Zerori would look bored observing the plain atmosphere of the room. When mentioned, Zerori would look back over with a blank expression of surprise. What? This woman felt as if Zerori was a cut above the rest by challenging the saiyans in plain view and managing to escape with her wits about her. She was flattered, actually that she had something of a fan on this planet. She laughed, “Is that right? The queen must have some sort of agenda if she doesn’t even allow the saiyans to fight among themselves!” Leaning up, Zerori found herself almost passionate about this sudden interesting topic, “If saiyans don’t fight, they’ll eventually lose the spark that makes them warriors and then,” She snorted, “Then, where will the queen be?” A topic change later and Zerori was throwing proverbial question marks in the hybrid’s direction. “I… Sorry, I don’t see it,” She apologized, tossing a slightly nervous expression her way, “Call me prejudice, but I didn’t imagine any saiyan cared about anything more than a blood past. As for this ‘Zuni’ person, I can’t say I do.” She grimaced, “Doesn’t sounds saiyan and that’s enough for me to like them without knowing them… No offense.” ((Gonna try and give you punctual responses!!))
