(Making use of my tier 3 shop for this one! Use 1/2 for the week of Jan. 4)
Raisu’s hands trembled as he carefully set the last of the the tea on the shelf. Very rarely was he so delicate with things, but this was a special case. This was his inheritance, his final gift from the departed Tsu Kini. He had to treat it carefully, and things had to be perfect. He would not allow anything to be out of place. Especially on the first day he was truly going to be open. Yes, he was taking special care for today. Each shelf was perfectly arranged, well, as perfect as he could manage. The floor had been swept, and he’d dusted everything. And while his desire for everything to be perfect would never be sated, Raisu was satisfied. He was, at least, ready to face the day.
Or was he? Raisu’s heart pounded as he true closer to the front of the store. Any number of things could go wrong. Hell, he expected any number of things to go wrong. In fact, things tended to go wrong around him. Some might call Raisu a magnet for misfortune, especially these days. It saddened the young half blood a bit. He’d just wanted to see the world. And now things were all twisted and turned, and his vision for tomorrow was barely what he’d imagined in the days before. Still, he had to keep on trucking. Tsu Kini had given him the store for a reason, even if it was a burden. Maybe he could repurpose that robot he’d bought for training to run the store…
No time to think about that. At least today, he’d run the store by himself. Quickly, he flipped the sign in the window to say “open” and then he retreated to the register behind his desk. He sat there and twiddled his thumbs, waiting. Any second now, he thought to himself. A second passed. Maybe not, thought Raisu.
But still, he waited. The South Capitol was always a lively place, and while the Saiyan Invasion might have hurt it, he was sure that they would bounce back. And any moment now, someone would walk in that door.

That day, the Saiyan was nowhere to be seen around the South Capitol, he was not taking a walk but he was into a gym in the local area. He had thought to check out how earthlings warriors trained, but he was truly disappointed. In that moment, he was on a small ring against a Human. The latter one had challenged him as soon as the Saiyan stepped in. Cornatto crossed his arms and waited for the earthling to attack him, the latter one wore boxing gloves. He had a decent muscular build and the man was also bald, but the Saiyan couldn’t sense any kind of power within the man.
“Why am I even doing this?.. I don’t even know if this guy stands a chance..” - he thought to himself, narrowing his eyes as he watched the man.
“Come at me, dude! Are you too scared to even look at me? This is not a playground, we’re serious here! What are you waiting for?” - the man spoke as he taunted the Saiyan, the latter one staring at him blankly.
“Attack me then.” - he said, not moving of an inch as the man approached him. The man landed a few blows on his chest, but they didn’t seem to pack much of a punch to the Saiyan. Cornatto let out a sigh in disappointment, apparently the man just as weak as he had sensed. “Well, my turn now.” - he told him before landing a right hook on his face, the punch’s force was too much for the man and in doing so, he was pushed off the ring with one punch.
The others watched the man in amazement, he was sore from the Saiyan’s blow. Cornatto just walked off the ring and got out of the gym, he had expected much more and was completely down with the mood. “Do earthlings really train in those places? They are not even capable of fighting without using their own tools.” - he said to himself. But he had no reason to ruin his day for such a reason, it was not worth it.
He looked around briefly, taking note of a shop which seemed to be curious. “Tea.. pretty sure you drink that thing. Hm, but what matters is that..” - he muttered, the Saiyan could sense a huge power not unknown to him, he had sensed it before and the Saiyan could not forget it. He decided to take a closer look and enter in, glancing around curiously.
Cornatto smiled, offering a nod to the Hybrid as soon as he saw him. “Hey. Just as I sensed, it is you. This place seems empty though, is the owner away or.. is this shop yours?” - he asked.

Raisu blinked as the Saiyan Cornatto entered his shop. That was the last person Raisu had ever expected to enter his shop. For some reason, Raisu had never really been unable to imagine the Saiyan in a real city, outside of combat. But he had to admit, he was pleasantly surprised. Especially if he was a customer. His first customer ever. It was a small world, it seemed.
"Cornatto!" He said, coming out from behind the counter to greet the man who had once called himself Goizen, "How are you?"
Raisu bowed to the man, a sign of respect. And, with a quick moment of focus, he'd noticed that the Saiyan had grown stronger. Much stronger in fact. Raisu had to grin. The Saiyan would probably catch up with him in no time. And then, they could have a good fight.
"And yeah, this is my shop. I, uh, inherited it."

The Saiyan offered a bow to the Hybrid, as a sign of respect in return to Raisu’s. It was indeed a surprise for the two to meet in such a place, while Cornatto isn’t exactly the classic citizen and was not fond of many things related to a town, he had been reflecting and he wanted to get closer to the earthlings. No, he was not there to defend them as a guardian, but to understand if he had to and realize why.
“Hey! I am fine, well.. pretty good actually. Except for one thing that happened to me into one of the gyms here. A guy wanted to be a boaster but he wasn’t even worth a punch. I thought there was something useful there in order to train, but.. not really.” - he said.
He glanced around, looking carefully at the shop’s interior. Everything seemed pretty good, and everything was in order. “This place must mean much to him if he takes care of it so carefully.” - he thought. “Ah, I see.. What about you? Doing well?” - he asked.
“And also, mind if I buy a cup of tea? Or.. uh, however you buy it. Not sure, never had the pleasure to drink it to be honest.” - he told him, asking another question but this time it was not a curiosity but a request.

Raisu nodded. So, he'd been training. Never an idle moment, it seemed. Raisu should be training himself, but he had something far more important to tend to today: his shop, his inheritance. But at least one of them was still training.
"Oh, you want tea? Hold on, I'll make you a cup..."
Raisu went back behind the counter and pulled some tea from beneath the counter. Extra stock, but he wouldn't miss it. And besides, he could go for a cup himself. He spoke as he began the process of tea making, "Training, huh? Tell me about it. What was up with that guy?"
He reached below the desk again, and pulled out two cups. The pot was put on the fire, and now all they had to do was wait. Raisu looked at Cornatto expectantly, waiting for him to speak.

“Yeah, it’d be great.” - he said. The Saiyan approached the counter, resting an arm on it as he waited for his cup of tea. He was not aware about this shop’s existence and had no idea Raisu was the owner. “Is this what he does in his free time?” - he wondered, looking at the Hybrid curiously.
“Oh. Nothing much really. I was curious to check out the gyms they talk about in the city, but they are nothing really. As soon as I was inside, one of these buffed guys walk up to me and think I was some kind of newbie and made me follow him and fight him on a ring. I gave him a small punch and he fell off the ring.” - he told him, letting out a sigh. “What a waste of time.” - he said.
“I just walked out of the place, didn’t really seem worth it to be honest. I’d probably have more results if I stick with my training regimen.” - he said.

Raisu nodded, listening. Sounded about right. People often underestimated how strong people really were or could be these days. Sure, there were a great deal of super-powered individuals running around, but one never quite expected to come face to face with one in their daily life. Raisu sometimes had trouble remembering that he was in a very powerful, privileged minority, and that the vast majority of people were not like him.
"I see," said Raisu as he tended to the tea. It was almost done down. Just a little more time, "Yeah, I agree. A personal training regimen is probably the best way to things. You know your body better than anyone else."
Raisu knew that much. He had his own training regimen. Though mainly it involved training under gravity, punching rocks, getting angry and subsequently wallowing in self-pity. Fun stuff, thought Raisu.
"You're doing a lot of training, then?"

Cornatto offered a nod, in agreement with Raisu’s statement. A personal training regimen was the best option, after all following someone else’s could also have no effect but making him weaker. What he wanted was the exact opposite, he didn’t want to turn into a weakling for sure.
“Yes, I am. I’ve been training a lot since our last encounter in the wastelands and I am pretty sure you can sense the results.” - he finished his speech with a grin on his face.
“You know, I’ve been thinking a lot on what you’ve told me.. you know, your reasons and so on. And there is only so much I can do for something.. or someone. Perhaps, a pure-blooded Saiyan’s best chance would be to join the Empire and all of that stuff..” - he paused for a moment there, letting out a chuckle.
“But, no need to tell you I’d rather grab her head and smash her against a wall than serving her and the other traditionalists. And also, here is where I was born after all, on this planet.” - he said.

Raisu grimaced. He had to agree. Raisu Hanamura was a son of Earth. He had no love for the empire. Quite the opposite, in fact. Raisu had an intense dislike for the empire, probably rooted in the fact that they had tried to invade the place that he called home. His hands trembled a little in anger. If the Saiyans had destroyed his tea shop... No, best not to think about it. He should enjoy the fact that he had. Speaking of which, he remembered the tea he had set on the fire.
"Yeah, I get it, man" said Raisu as he reached for the tea, "The empire can wither and die for all I care."
In a huff, Raisu poured the steaming tea from the kettle and pushed a cup towards Cornatto. It was a good blend, thought Raisu as he took a ship of his own. A simple green tea blend, but a good one. He could get used to this.
"I dunno. The more I think about it, the angrier I get. Like, what the Hell were they thinking, attacking Earth? Next time they even think about trying something like that..." Raisu's voice trailed off, leaving it at that as he sipped at his tea again.

The Hybrid seemed to know what the Saiyan talked about, but either way, Cornatto knew too well that he did. He didn’t forget their last encounter and their conversation, it had been more than insightful to him and he had thought a lot about it. Even too much, perhaps. The Saiyan himself held a grudge towards his own species, as they broke not only his, but his own family’s pride and by his assumptions, also killed his parents.
He looked down for a brief moment, offering a nod in agreement to Raisu’s statement. He had no desire to help the Empire, not even slightly.
The Saiyan shifted his gaze at the Hybrid once again, before looking at the cup of tea. He smiled briefly, taking a firm grasp of the cup and raising it towards his mouth. He had not tried it, ever before, but the Saiyan was curious to taste it. He took a small sip, savouring all of it. It wasn’t exactly the classic beverage a person could drink into a bar, but it was not an unpleasant feeling at all. He thought it could have been a good one to drink before taking a nap or just before resting in general.
“Mhm.. I can understand what you mean, perhaps not entirely, but I sure can.” - he said, before looking down at his own cup of tea. “It didn’t take long to realize I couldn't really fit among the other Saiyans, for obvious reason I told you. I feel they wouldn’t take me either way, for a matter of mindset and stuff like that. But not like that is anything of importance to me, I would never use my power to help that bunch of people.” - he paused for a moment there, looking at Raisu once again.
“I had no idea about what was going on with the Empire and this planet. But I feel I wouldn’t have even tried to help, if I’d be honest. I would have simply tried to kill a Saiyan or two to satisfy my own desires, but as I walked around the planet and met several people.. from Saiyans to Humans, Pink ones and others.. I came to realize this was much more than just a planet to rest my feet upon its surface. I had no regard towards it since I was a child, my parents thought I could rule it, but to be honest.. It’d have been a boredom. I never wanted to do that, not for anything related to power and strength but I just wanted to.. have fun, as in fighting, obviously. I wouldn’t be surprised if my parents had noticed that. But, yes.. I think I’d like to help this planet, if anything is upon us. I doubt I’d be welcome by any of the inhabitans here, my species is not well seen here and I am not surprised.” - he told him, taking another small sip of his tea.

Raisu considered it a moment, swirling the cup of tea in his hand. To protect this planet. It was what Raisu wanted, wasn't it? To protect the Earth and all of the people on it. Even if some people on this planet would prefer that Raisu and his ilk, hybrids, were shipped off to some ungodly corner of space. After all, he had Saiyan blood in him. And Saiyans had attempted to seize control of the Earth. They'd killed millions. His was the blood of warlords. The blood of killers. The Earth ran red with the blood of man and Saiyan, like the very blood that ran in his veins. It was a scary thought to say the least.
"Yeah," whispered Raisu, "They probably don't want any part of you."
And it was a damn shame. Cornatto seemed like a decent person, despite his Saiyan blood. And that was saying something. Sure, Raisu might have met a few people who shared Saiyan blood that were alright, but the vast majority of the populace of Saiyans were still monsters. It just wasn't obvious until they were below the light of a full moon. Raisu shivered. Speaking of full moons... He looked to the ceiling. Thank Kami it was still daytime.
"Yeah. It sucks. But can you blame 'em? Millions are dead, Cornatto. Millions..."
Raisu shook his head and took another sip of his tea. There was a bitter taste in his mouth.

The Saiyan looked down at his cup of tea for a brief moment, his eyes were narrowed, he had thought about what could happen. The Human name had an actual purpose: hide his real identity. Though, it didn’t take long for him to change his mind, his opinion in general had changed. He was not a traditionalist, but he had Saiyan blood in himself, he couldn’t deny that.
“..No, I can’t blame any of them. But it is nothing really, after all I have nothing to do with those dogs of the Empire. I shouldn’t just hesitate because the others would not trust me.” - he said, tapping his chin briefly.
He raised an eyebrow as he followed the Hybrid’s gaze, the Saiyan blinked slowly and looked at him. "..What is he up to? Hm." - he thought to himself.
“It could have been worse, I guess. I can just hope they will forget about all of this as quick as possible.. even if it is kinda impossible. Anyway, none of this as it is now, will change me at all. I’ll keep training and if I can, I’ll definitely help.” - he told him. The Saiyan took another sip from his tea and let out a sharp exhale.

"People don't forget, Cornatto."
Raisu dipped his head and rubbed one of his temples. This was a mess. The Saiyans mucked everything up, for everybody. Even those who wished to help would have a hard time of it now. Even Raisu himself, an Earthborn, had not been spared from the harsh feelings. Raisu felt forced to hide his tail as he went about in public, lest he upset the victims of the invasion. Not that he wanted to upset them. No, Saiyan imagery would just be cruel at this point.
Keep training, thought Raisu. Now there was a goal. Getting stronger just to help. Wasn't that what he was doing? It seemed almost pointless when everyone on Earth hated your guts for the sole reason of being born with a tail. But, like Raisu told Cornatto, they could not be blamed. He just wished it wasn't so hard.
"Yeah, Cornatto. Keep training. Get stronger, and maybe somewhere down to line people won't look at us like monsters. 'Course, you don't have the tail. You could probably pass for human if you wanted to. Most Saiyans could."
Raisu sipped his tea and frowned, setting the cup down so that he could tap the table erratically, thinking to himself.
"That's a scary thought, isn't it? That imperial Saiyans could be living among us and we might not even know."

The Saiyan frowned, nodding to himself. It was true, all of it. He had no reason to fight his words, he actually agreed with him. He had not seen the invasion himself, but he was aware of the result. The cities were slowly recovering, but nothing could erase the memory of the Humans. “I know.. but perhaps it is better like that. That might help them wake up and get out of their laziness, let’s be honest.. Everyone can be strong just like I am.. or even as powerful as you. If every single Human here would train, they’d make for pretty good warriors. In my opinion at least.” - he said.
He had thought about it and such a thing was quite possible, but he knew none of that could happen. Humans weren’t anything like Saiyans, they lacked that natural fighting instinct, probably Raisu could understand what kind of instinct he meant, after all both of them had Saiyan blood.
“Heh, you can bet your own soul on it! I would never stop training. And yes, I could but some can still notice that I have Saiyan traits, having no tail is a benefit as it usually sends them off track, but it feels weird. You know.. being observed and things like that.” - he said, before offering a nod to his next statement.
“True. I admit I never met anyone else without a tail, only imperial Saiyan I have met was.. a certain Natto. But he wasn’t really a traditionalist anymore, apparently he left the empire. That aside, if there are any like him but without a tail they’d be less dangerous than others to be honest. I am pretty sure you know, but without a tail, we can not turn into Oozaru which is our only transformation we can rely onto after our base form.” - he told him.

Raisu had to give Cornatto a little nod. The people of Earth had a lot of potential when it came to combat. They might not be as strong as say, Saiyans, but they were not an entirely helpless people. Why, Raisu himself had met a human man whose power far exceeded his own. Of course, that man had also been Kami, so perhaps the point had been moot from the beginning. "Yeah," said Raisu quietly, "Earthlings aren't exactly weak. Though, I'm not sure if I'd call them lazy. The kind of training we do will really tear your body apart, Cornatto. Not everyone is meant for it. Hell, there are even some Saiyans who wouldn't be able to handle it."
Raisu nodded, again. He had noticed the lack of tail, yes, but he had entirely believed that Cornatto had been human once. Goizen... That human name that Cornatto had used to fool Raisu once. Raisu was loathe to remember that. Especially with how right Cornatto was now. He did have Saiyan features. The hair, the eyes... It was quite obvious now that those were Saiyan features, but in Raisu's defense, they were not inhuman at all.
And then there was the mention of Natto. Raisu closed his eyes and sighed in disgust. The supposed Saiyan commander who turned traitor. Raisu had heard his story, straight from the mouth of the man himself. He was good now, he didn't want to conquer or destroy the Earth, he wasn't like the rest of the Saiyans. And Raisu had two words for that: Bull. Crap. Raisu would never trust that Saiyan. And Raisu was keeping an eye out for him, waiting for him to step out of line. Come to think of it, Raisu had not even felt the Saiyan's presence as of late...
But still, there was the matter of the Oozaru. Raisu hated that form. It was, quite possibly, the worst thing about having Saiyan blood. It was the representation of everything wrong with the Saiyan race, the beast inside. "You know, maybe its a good thing that you can't go ape. Its dangerous and destructive. Nothing good can come of it. And besides," sneered Raisu, "I'm not fond of my own ape form. I consider you the lucky one."
