Tania eagerly combed the southern edge of Fortunteller’s Desert from the air with ki the scanners in her eyes activated, a relatively large messenger bag slung over her shoulder, and a giddy look on her face. When she had met her new friend Etoru, she unfortunately had to leave early to go check in with the Blue Banner Army. However, as she was flying away, the dark haired boy had yelled to meet him around this area today for the adventure that he had promised her. There was no way she was going to miss this! Adventuring was one of her most favorite things in the world!
The synthetic child continued to scan the area while occasionally venturing a glance down at her bag. A seasoned adventurer like herself knew to always be prepared. That’s why she had been absolutely sure to pack a bag full of important stuff that they might need today. Water for all non-robotic adventurers? Check! Emergency snacks? Check! Snacks for when they just felt like munching on something? Check! More snacks just in case the previous stash of snacks ran out, but the situation wasn’t really an emergency? Check! And last but not least, a small handful of Senzu Beans that Benjamin had been nice enough to give her before she left? Double check! There were a few other odds and ends stashed away in there as well, but as long as the important things were taken care of, they would be just fine.
After continuing her flight through what most people without a built in cooling system might have described as uncomfortably warm, Tania finally sensed a ki signature up ahead. Ooh, was that Etoru? If so, he had gotten stronger than when she had first met him. Neat! ”Etooooooooooru! Are we ready to go?!” Tania called out as soon as she saw the spot of familiar dark hair below. Today was going to be so much fun! She had heard stories of all sorts of things that were hidden in the sandy expanse that they were to venture into.
Supposedly there were caves filled with monsters that were guarding unbelievable treasures at the end of them. There were palaces obscured by sandstorms that time had long forgotten! There were crazy old witches that cursed anyone who got close enough to their secluded domains! There were sand worms that were massive enough to devour entire cities in one bite! Were any of those stories true? Tania had no idea. She was super excited to go and find out though!

Etoru was extremely excited. He hasn't been this excited in a while. He thought Tania was really high class. He had a lot of questions to ask the android, but certainly did not want to pester her. He also noticed how much she was into adventuring. I mean Etoru loved to explore but man this android was nuts about it. He was pacing back and forth holding an empty potato sack. He brought it just in case they found souvenirs and treasure! Oh man was he excited. He began to sweat. He wiped his forehead. "Phew! Probably should have brought water..." He pouted. He looked into the sky impatiently. "Ugh where is she? Too bad I can't sense her energy..." He shrugged. "Well I can always train to kill some time."
He slid his foot across the dirt to concentrate a bit. He let out a little high pitched growl as he struggled to focus. He had to practice to show Ms.Seka what he's capable of! He began yelling as he kicked and punched the air. As he kicked around, anyone could hear the sounds of wind slapping about. He looked back at his sack to see a lizard grabbing it. "Hey! I need that you stinking reptile! Come back here!" Etoru tripped over a rock and crawled as fast as he could. The lizard crawled into a little cave. Etoru groaned as he stuck his hand in. He moved it about but quickly removed his arm as he got bit. He growled. "Fine!" He yelled loudly. He stood up dusting himself off before sending his foot stomping the rock. His intention was to crumble the rock and send the lizard crawling out which he'd then dig the remains of the small rock cave for his potato sack. Instead the ground began to shake. "Did I kick it that hard? Oh man..." The ground collapsed a bit sending Etoru falling forward and face first into the dirt. The ground caved in more leaving his waist and below out. His tail swayed about rapidly and he kicked his legs as he heard Tania call his name. He blushed embarrassingly. "Tania get me out of here!" He yelled. "It smells..." He mumbled.

Tania had been right on the mark. The tuft of dark hair she had spotted had definitely been Etoru. Though, as she flew closer and more details became visible, the small robotic girl noticed something off about him. Did he get shorter? That was weird... People were supposed to grow as time passed, not shrink. Maybe it was a Saiyan thing. Tania admittedly didn’t know much about them since the boy was the only one she had met so far.
Or maybe the ground had just swallowed up his legs, as she quickly discovered as the distance between them continued to shorten. The dark haired boy looked up in her direction and pleaded with her to get him out of there. ”Etoru marks the spot!” Tania piped up while slowing to a hover and holding her hands out to him to latch onto. ”Did’ja find treasure already?” That honestly didn’t seem very likely. Still, she was curious about how he managed to go and get himself stuck like that. The ground looked too solid to be quick sand. And what did he mean by it smelling bad? Was there something weird about that spot of ground?
”Alrighty! Hold on tight!” Assuming her adventuring companion was to grab onto her outstretched arms, Tania would proceed to fly backwards in an attempt to yank the hybrid out of the hole he was in. She was careful not to bonk him on the head with the snack filled messenger bag that was still slung around her shoulder. This was definitely an odd way to start off an adventure...

Etoru groaned when she began joking. "Tania this isn't funny..." He began to push him self out but failed. He sighed. "Hurry it up will ya..." He laid his hand on his face and swayed his tail that was on the outside about waiting to be pulled up. Suddenly a scorpion began crawling to his face. "Tania hurry...!!!" Suddenly he felt something grab hold of his tail. "Eep!!!" He immediately went limp and was dragged out of the cave. As Tania pulled him out, he looked like he just took medicine and had a druggy looking smile. Etoru wanted to say to let go of his tail, but he just couldn't find the energy to speak.
((Short post but...! You didn't exactly let go =P))

((Due to me apparently not paying attention, my last post doesn’t really make much sense as I thought it was Etoru’s upper half sticking out of the ground for some reason. Sorry for the confusion! ^^ ) Tania wanted to grab onto the boy’s ankles to yank him out of the ground, but they kept moving to much as tried to free himself. She didn’t want to get kicked on accident. After all, Etoru was a lot stronger than she was. Thankfully, the boy was part Saiyan. Since she was unsure about his legs, she just grabbed onto the fuzzy tail that was attached to his hind quarters. As soon as the small girl grabbed onto the fuzzy appendage, the boy’s legs stopped moving and immediately went limp. Weird... That would have been handy to have happen before she started pulling on his tail. Oh well, there was no point in letting go since she had already felt him start to come loose. With one really good yank, Etoru was freed from the hole and drug about a foot across the sand so that he didn’t fall back in. Mission successful! ”How’d you go and get your head stuck in a hole anyway?” Tania asked curiously as she finally let go of his tail, completely in the dark about how it had affected him. ”Did you at least see anything cool down th-huh?” The synthetic child stopped mid-question as she noticed the weird look on Etoru’s face. It looked like he was dazed or something. ”Uh, Etoru? You okay?” Was he sick? He kind of looked like it. Maybe today wasn’t a good day for an adventure after all. Tania pushed back the top flap of her messenger bag and fished through the sea of snacks that she had brought with her to find one of the canteens that she had remembered to pack. After all, just because she didn’t need water didn’t mean her travelling companion didn’t. It was one of the plus sides of being non-organic. ”Thirsty?” she asked, holding the canteen out to the boy.

Etoru growled. "Tania...hurry up...!" He said squirming around. He pouted as he struggled to free himself. "Well this stinks...!" Etoru huffed and tried pushing himself up but hit his head. "Youch....! Tania I swear if you don't get me out of here I'm gonna g-EEEeeep...." Suddenly he went limp right after he squealed loudly in pain and quietly piping down. He was dragged out against the sand and then held upside down. Etoru listened to Tania's question and wanted to strangle her! Then again androids don't need oxygen...do they? To make things even worse, she dropped him to the floor. He sort of twitched as he lied there trying to regain the feeling in his body and get rid of all the numbness and the pins and needles feeling. Ugh it sucked. When it was better he hopped up and stared at her in the eye angrily. "Tania! Why did you go ahead and do that for!" He huffed and turned around to show his tail. "Don't you know a Sayians weak spot is their tail! It hurts a lot there when you grab it!" He wagged it around to get rid of all the pain that was boiling up there. He turned back around and frowned. Then he pouted as he just wanted to ignore her for a bit but she offered him water...! He groaned. "Fine...and thank you..." Etoru sipped the water and let out a relaxed "Ah..." Handing the water back.
"How did I get in there...? Well I...um..." His cheeks turned extremely red. He didn't want to tell her really. He was supposed to be some great warrior! If she found out he was bested by a lizard it would be embarrassing! "Uh...Tania do you need to know...?" He said scratching his head and his cheeks were obviously still flustered. "Well the uh...adventure thing...where do we start?"

Tania tilted her head to the side as Etoru started getting mad at her. ”No. You’re the only Saiyan I’ve ever met. Sorry...” she answered quietly, her eyes fixated on the furry appendage. Aww, did this mean that she couldn’t poke at it later? It had felt so soft when she had been using it to pull Etoru out of the hole he had gotten stuck in! What a let down... Oh well, she wasn’t going to go and cause him pain like that again now that she knew better, no matter how soft his fur had been. That wouldn’t have been very nice at all.
The small girl took the canteen back and placed it back in her bag, relieved that it seemed to help him feel a little better. ”Aww, is it a secret?” she asked with a bit of a pout when Etoru seemed reluctant to explain himself. Those were only fun when she could be in on them too. Tania wanted to press further when the subject was changed to the reason they were out here in the first place. ”Oh right! The adventure! I was thinking-” she began to speak, but her words stopped abruptly when she noticed the hole that Etoru had just been stuck in.
The ground around it had cracked and fallen away a bit, making it a bit bigger than it was just a moment ago. The girl crept over to it quietly and stuck her head inside now that there was more room. It was super dark down there, but Tania could see that beneath then was some kind of subterranean tunnel that stretched way further in either direction than she could see. Aha! That was perfect!
Tania turned back to her companion with an excited grin on her face. ”We start right below us! Geronimo!” she squealed giddily before jumping down into the darkness. The tunnel couldn’t have been any more than ten feet high. Upon landing, she activated one of her functions that didn’t get used all that much considering that she could see just fine in the dark. The girl closed her eyes for a moment. Upon opening them, each ocular lens emitted a beam of light as if they were a pair of flash lights. It wouldn’t have been any fun if she was the only one that could see anything. ”C’mon Etoru! There could be treasure down here! Or an abandoned city! Or monsters! Oooh! Or all three! It’ll be fun!” she excitedly called back up to him, waiting for the half Saiyan to join her down in the tunnel. Tania wanted to see where it would lead them!

Etoru's cheeks deepened in it's color of red as she asked if it was a secret. "W-well...um...n-n-no but--" Then she was taken off guard by the adventure! He sighed in relief. That was a close one, Etoru sure did not want her to find out that embarrassing tale. She seemed to stop talking when Etoru heard something crack and then rubble hitting the ground. The sound of the rocks crashing echoed causing Etoru to blink blankly. He watched as Tania walked past him and poke her head into the hole. Etoru followed her and poked his head right beside hers and examined the cave. The two little heads looked down into the dark tunnel system. Etoru obviously couldn't tell it was a tunnel system from how dark it was. Tania's little face met with Etoru's face as she stated that they'd start right now. She jumped into the cave causing Etoru to blink blankly. "T-Tania! Waaait! We don't even know if it's safe yeeet...! It can be dangerous!" Etoru called after her. Suddenly he saw a light plop and Etoru's eyes sparkled in amazment! IT LOOKED SO COOL! Etoru's thrill for adventure just bursted and he was ready to explore! As Tania yelled the fun possibilities to be found here, Etoru cheered with her. "Treasure down here!" Etoru yelled back. "YEAH!" "Abandoned city!" "YEAH!" "Or Monsters!""YE--Wait what?!" Etoru gulped fearfully. "M-m-m-monsters...??" Etoru jumped down hesitantly after her and stayed close to her. He was practically clinging to her as they walked down the dark tunnels. "M-m-m-maybe w-we should um...a-adventure in my b-backyard..." Etoru said gulping. Then his cheeks flushed a bit. "N-not that I'm s-s-scared...! Just...my backyard is a whole lot um...cooler than this junk so..."

Etoru was getting fired up about this adventure at the mention of what could be waiting in the underground tunnels. That was the spirit! He was practically shaking in anticipation! ”Of course not. We’re already here, silly. Maybe we can adventure through your backyard next time,” Tania giggled as they slowly made their way down the tunnel. Tania liked hugs and all, but the way Etoru was holding onto her was making it kind of difficult to walk. Maybe she could distract him with a snack? She had made sure to bring plenty with her. Wiggling her arm free from her clingy companion, she pulled a pair of candy bars out of her bag and held one out to him. ”I made sure to come prepared. Want one?” However, she had to stop for a moment before opening her own snack. She had just noticed how the tunnel made their words echo. It was pretty neat to hear! ”Echo!” the synthetic child cried out after a deep breath and listened closely as the single word bounced off of the cavern walls. Echo... Echo... Echo... Echo... ”Wow! Isn’t this place cool?!” she squealed in delight. The girl’s echoing voice didn’t just grab her attention though. It proved that Tania and Etoru weren’t alone in the cave as it had also disturbed a small swarm of bats. Their shrill cries also echoed off of the cave walls as the group of winged creatures appeared before them, caught by the light that was being emitted from Tania’s eyes. The swarm darted past the two of them, high above their heads as they didn’t want any part of the two adventurers. And then, just like that, they vanished out of the hole that Tania and Etoru had entered through. ”Flying away scared? Hah! At least you know better than to mess with a pair of real adventurers!” the synthetic child declared triumphantly as if she and her hybrid friend had just beaten the bats in combat. ”Good work, fellow adventurer! We showed them a thing or two!” With that, she gave Etoru an enthusiastic ‘thumbs up’ before chowing down on the candy bar she had pulled out of her bag. ”This tunnel looks super old. What do you think might be down here?” she asked in between bites as she kept walking.

Etoru frowned sadly. She didn't buy the bait and now he was stuck in some creepy tunnel cave thing. Etoru stayed close to Tania gulping fearfully. He really was about to admit he was afraid but Etoru wanted to stay strong! Suddenly, Tania wiggled her arm free from Etoru's grasp and dug into her bag. Etoru blinked blankly. Etoru let go when he saw the chocolate bar and then smiled. "Oh wow! Thanks Tanie!" Etoru reached for the chocolate bar and unwrapped. He began munching on it happily. When she made her voice echo Etoru stared in amazment. "COOL!" Suddenly the cave began to echo the word cool which made Etoru laugh a little bit. "Awesome..." Etoru whispered. "Yeah Tania! This place is awesome!" Suddenly, Etoru heard a bunch of highpitched screams. He looked up and saw a swarm of bats. "B-B-B-B-B-BATS!!!" Etoru screamed. He ducked for cover and held his hand over his head as he cowered in fear. Etoru began shaking not wanting to get up until HE WAS SURE they were gone for good. As he was cowering in fear, he couldn't help but take little bites of his chocolate bar. It was just so good! After moments passed by, Etoru slowly climbed to his feet dusting his training pants off. "Huh? O-Oh right! Um real adventurers! Yeah!" Etoru said awkwardly as he scratched his head. Etoru gave a hesitant thumbs up back as he followed her down the tunnels. "You know Tania...I'm not sure...I hope it isn't monsters though. It would be cool to find treasure! OR MAYBE WE CAN FIND A REALLY COOL ICE CREAM MAKER!!!" Etoru yelled happily. When the cave echoed he piped down afraid of another swarm of bats coming. As they continued walking by, Etoru noticed skeletons lying on the wall. "Um...Tania..." Etoru pointed at the skeletons gulpng. Etoru so badly wanted to scream in fear but he wanted to act brave in front of his companions! "M-m-m-maybe...t-t-t-t-this isn't a good idea...w-what if they came down here adventuring t-t-t-to....and..." Etoru gulped. "You know...! There could be bad stuff down here....!" Etoru looked around nervously. He definately didn't like the feels of this place.

Tania was still giggling to herself about the bats, even after they had cleared the tunnel. The swarm itself had been rather large, but it was just a bunch of small, winged fur balls. They were so funny looking with their smooshed up faces, too! In her glee, she hadn’t even noticed that Etoru hadn’t been quite as gung ho about their first ‘encounter’ as she had been. ”You mean like a magical ice cream maker? That would be awesome! What flavor do you think it would make?” she wondered aloud after they had resumed their trek. Between the bats, the echoing, and whatever lie ahead of them shrouded in darkness, this was quickly turning into Tania’s most exciting adventure yet!
The two children continued along; the sounds of their footsteps bouncing off the wall ensured that the smile didn’t leave the small girl’s face. However, their progress was once again momentarily halted when Etoru pointed out something on the wall that Tania had missed. She turned her head to shine some light on a pair of skeletons were propped up against the tunnel wall. ”Ooh! Spoo~ky!” she laughed, moving in to inspect them closer. She was almost tempted to grab onto their bony hands and start jiggling them around to make it look like they were dancing. ”What are you talking about? You gotta fight a monster or two to get the treasure. That’s how you adventure!” she cheered, remembering the games about adventuring that Kutao always played while she was still in his service.
Tania’s fun was almost immediately interrupted when tremors began shaking the tunnel. What was going on? As the rumbling grew more violent, Tania began to look around frantically to find the source of it, making the light move just as chaotically. It didn’t feel quite like an earthquake. Slowly the pieces clicked together in her head and Etoru’s words began to fully sink in. It was a rounded tunnel beneath the surface of the desert without any branching paths. There didn’t appear to be any sort of end in sight in either direction. The only things that had been down there so far were bones and a group of bats that had been trying to escape. The tunnel itself didn’t look like it was manmade, which meant it was probably made by...
The synthetic child looked up in the direction that they had been walking, shining the beams of light from her eyes down the tunnel. It didn’t look so empty anymore. In the distance, a wall had appeared that was rapidly moving in their direction. It wasn’t just any wall though. Even from far away, Tania could see rows of jagged teeth adorning this wall. ”Saaaaaaaaand wooooooorm!” Tania squealed as she grabbed Etoru’s wrist and began booking it back the way they came. They had to get back out into the open!

Etoru had his eyes glued fearfully on the skeleton. He didn't even realize Tania asked him about the question for the first few seconds. "Huh?? O-Oh! Um magical? I guess...that would be a lot cooler though!" Etoru looked around the tunnles gulping. Etoru then saw her flash the light on it. She even laughed. "EEP! Tania! G-get away from ittt! It can be aliveeee!" Etoru whined. He didn't like this place one bit. Then she questioned him saying that you need to fight a monster in order to have a proper adventure. Etoru looked down. "Yeah but..." He frowned. "That's scary..." Etoru said, finally admitting his fear. He couldn't hold it in much longer. "Okay Taniaaa! I'm. Scared! I'm not as brave amd awesome and cool and amazing and strong and...did I say awesome?" This was the part where Etoru got too full of himself. "Well you got the point...I'm not as all of those things I mentioned as you think I am..." Suddenly the ground began to shake. Violently. "W-what the heck is that??" Etoru didn't think it was an earth quake.
Etoru then looed at Tania sounnding afraid. "Um...T-Tania what's going on....?" He said gulping. Then he noticed she was looking in a certain direction. Etoru looked and saw what she was looking at. Etoru then froze in fear. He couldn't move. He just stared at the large beast speeding towards them with wide eyes of shock. Then Tania grabbed his wrists and pulled him away. Etoru finally regained movement and began running with Tania as she held his wrist. "I TOLD YOU THIS WAS A BAD IDEA! But Noooooo! You wanted to be all like 'Oh you can't have an adventure without fighting a monster or two Etoruuuuu!'" Etoru mimicked her in a rather silly tone. Then Etoru saw it. Light. From the exit. "TANIA THE EXIT! Or wait...is it the entrance? Or exit...NO TIME FOR THIS! COME ON!" As they were running Etoru turned around and shot the ceiling with a ki blast causing rocks to fall in the worms path. "Aha! TAKE THAT YOU SLIMEY LOSE--" Suddenly it broke through the rocks. "WINNER! I WAS GONNA SAY WINNER! EEEEP!" Etoru jumped out the exit pulling Tania with him.

”What are you talking about?! It’s not a bad idea unless the heroes fail! That’s us! So let’s not fail! Wheeeeeeee!” Tania continued to squeal as they ran down the tunnel together, trying to stay well out of reach of the massive set of teeth that was chasing after them. Even though there was danger rushing at them from behind, Tania’s voice was still filled with excitement. This was all part of the game to her. There was a big boss monster behind them that they needed to defeat. Now all they had to do was figure out how to defeat it. She was still working on that part.
The hole that they had jumped through was just head of them, but Etoru stopped briefly to try to slow the massive worm down with a few ki blasts and a collapsed ceiling. It didn’t work all that well, but it was a neat tactic. ”See? You’re plenty brave!” Tania called out as they continued their sprint. Sure he was right next to her, but the raised voice was kind of necessary with all of the commotion.
Just before they leapt free of the tunnel, the synthetic child’s head spun around 180° so that it was facing the beast behind them as they continued to make their escape. ”Haha-ha-haha~! You can’t catch us~!” the girl taunted before sticking her tongue out at the sand worm. It didn’t actually do anything useful, but it felt appropriate regardless. Her minimal contribution to the conflict so far taken care of, her head rotated so that it was facing forward again just as the two children leapt up into the bright sunlight.
The massive worm wasn’t deterred just because its prey had left its tunnel. It burst from the ground right behind the two of them, thick saliva oozing from its gigantic maw. Tania was still holding onto Etoru as they sped across the desert sand. ”Okie dokie! We’ve got more room to move out here! How are we gonna beat up this monster?!” the girl piped up again, attempting to strategize while on the run. Falling rocks hadn’t helped. Neither had trying to demoralize it. What about a distraction? Tania reached into the bag that was flailing wildly behind her with her free hand and grabbed another candy bar. The girl flung it to the side of the path that they ran with all of her might. It was time to see if that monstrosity could resist the allure of such a chocolatey delight.
Apparently the answer was yes, as the sand worm completely ignored the tossed candy bar and continued the chase. ”Okay, that plan didn’t work! Do you have any ideas?”

Etoru squinted at the bright sunlight. They were out! THEY MADE IT! "OH MY GOSH WE'RE ALIVE TANIA! WE'RE ALIVE!" Etoru kissed the ground a few times. That's when he heard more shaking. He was well aware it wasn't over. Suddenly the worm bursted out of the ground. Etoru screamed before he felt his hand gripped by Tania and being yanked again. They started running away from the giant beast as they tried to think up some plans. As scared as Etoru was, he couldn't lie, this was a thrill. "Ideas...not at the moment! Wait what are you doing?" He saw as she dug into her bag. He looked confused. Then she threw a candy bar at the floor to distract the beast...which did nothing at all actually. Etoru growled a bit when she asked the question.
"Ideas...? Ideas?!? I had enough of this!" Etoru pulled his hand away from Tania and turned around fast. So fast actually that he was still moving in the direction they were running when he turned around. That didn't last long until he kicked off the ground and towards the worm. "TAKE THIS!!!" Etoru started throwing heavy punches and kicks towards it's gut sending it back with each blow. Etoru was gonna throw a really powered punch when the worm slapped him back towards Tania. "W-well...I did s-s...something huh..." Etoru said as he looked completely dazed.

”It sounded good at the time! I would definitely choose to eat chocolate instead of people if I were him,” Tania piped up just before Etoru pulled away from her. Oh! Did he have an idea after all? The small android watched in excitement as he threw out an all-out offensive against the sand worm. Ooh! This was getting good! She came to a quick stop, spun around, and threw her hands into the air. ”Woo! You can do it Etoru! Get him good!” she cheered as multiple powerful punches were delivered to the beast.
The synthetic child was greatly enjoying the action, though it proved to be a brief fight as the worm coiled up and used its tail to smack Etoru so hard, he came skidding across the sand right back to her. Aww, he almost had him. The worm must have hit him pretty hard because he was acting all loopy now. The two children didn’t have time to sit around though. The worm was already sliding after them again! ”Yup! You sure did! Good thinking!” Tania assured the stilly dizzy boy before grabbing his wrist again and sprinting away from the sand worm.
Okay, that was four things that they had already tried that hadn’t worked. They had to somehow avoid getting gobbled up and beat this monster without rocks, demoralization, distractions, or punches. How were they supposed to... Oh! Duh! Tania had been so excited to be facing a traditional big boss monster that she had completely forgotten that she could fly! ”I got another idea! He can’t chase us if we go up!” she proclaimed proudly. Still holding onto her adventuring buddy’s wrist, Tania jumped into the air and activated the jets in the bottom of her feet. Hopefully Etoru would have snapped out of his daze by then and started ascending with her, If not, she’d continue to carry him by the wrist. They needed to get out of the worm’s range. ”Okay! Use your ki stuff and let him have it!”
