As Etoru lied on the ground, he felt Tania grab his wrist. Suddenly he was yanked up and the began running again. Well this stinks. Being chased by a giant worm and all. Etoru was sure that they can both declare they wouldn't be able to keep running for long. Well, Etoru at least considering he was made of flesh and bones and not a robot. But who knows, maybe Tania needs batteries? That's when Tania had a brilliant idea! She grabbed his wrist and began to fly upwards. Etoru flew upwards alongside her and listened to her idea. Etoru grinned. "Right!"
Etoru pointed his palm and with his free hand he gripped his wrist. at it and began charging his ki. Etoru still had trouble controlling ki properly, but for the most part he got it down. Although he has never been properly trained before, so he wasn't a very efficent warrior. Etoru began to produce a yellow orb in his palm. "SHENKAI...! BEAM!" Etoru fired a drilling yellow beam that soared towards the worm. It drilled onto the side of the worm as it yelled out a giant roar of pain. The beam drilled through it and the worm skidded across the dirt. Finally, everything was quiet. Etoru panted a bit and stared at the worm wondering if it was dead or not. Etoru was surprised that he actually did it. Wait, does this mean he's a hero now?!

Etoru went along with Tania’s idea almost immediately. The small girl leaned forward and watched intently as the half Saiyan charged up his energy in a single hand. That was so cool! Ki attacks were nothing new to her, but they never ceased to amaze. It wasn’t something she was built to do, after all. It would have been nice to join in the attack, but the giant worm probably would have swallowed her arm if she fired it at him. The energy that had been charging was manifested in the boy’s palm before being fired in a spiral into the side of the slimy looking beast! It let out a loud, wounded roar before collapsing in a heap on the sand and ceasing all movement. ”Woohoo! Critical hit!” Tania threw her arms up excitedly after a few moments of silence. This was just like one of Kutao’s old adventure simulators, but since it was actually happening it made it at least 100 times better! That’s why it was only fitting for Tania to open up her mouth and play one of the victory fanfares that her previous owner had uploaded to her system. The internal speaker at the back of her throat let loose the appropriate music.
With that, Tania slowed the power input to the jets in her feet and landed back on the ground. She looked back up to Etoru, her expression as gleeful as it had ever been. ”You did it! Do you think it has any cool loot on it?” she asked before scrambling over to the fallen sand worm. Though, when she got to its body, she wasn’t really sure where to go next with it. This was the first boss monster that she had ever encountered. It didn’t really have any pockets to keep its treasure in... ”Huh... Where would the prize be kept exactly?”Etoru |

TaniaEtoru blinked blankly. Tania seemed rather excited. But Etoru just stared at the worm confused. What Tania said really had him wondering. Did this thing have any loot...Etoru frowned annoyed. He glared at Tania. "Tania...if this thing doesn't have any loot...!" Etoru snarled at his robotic friend. He floated around the worms corpse from high in the sky with an annoyed expression. After a few minutes of hovering around it, Etoru realized there wasn't any loot. The Saiyan Hybrid frowned annoyed. He floated back to Tania and attempted to grab her shoulders. Whether he succeeded or not he'd shake her back and forth as he yelled at her. "Tania! What the heck! You said there would be loot! We almost DIEEEED!" Etoru let go of her frowning. He crossed his arms and huffed. "in case you haven't noticed Tani, I'm not a robot like you! I can't be rebuilt! DUH!" Etoru face palmed. But deep down, he didn't wanna admit it, he really had a lot of fun. Sure he was scared and all, but that was AWESOME! That worm sure tasted his Shenkai Beam! Etoru turned around facing away from Tania as they floated high above the desert sand and fist pumped lightly. He whispered to himself. "Yessss! I diiiid it~" Etoru turned around to Tania clearing his throat. "Ahem! What now...?" Etoru had his arms folded as he waited for his robotic best friend to answer. Etoru really was led to believe they were the best of friends. In fact, as far as he was concerned, she might as well just have been the only friend he had. Well his age anyways.

Tania was so busy looking the worm up and down for possible places to store treasure that she completely missed the annoyance in Etoru’s voice. It wasn’t until he grabbed her by the shoulders that she even realized that he hadn’t been nearly as satisfied with the encounter as she had been. Did he not like adventures after all? However, a single subject that he brought up brought her train of thought to a screeching halt. ‘Die’. ‘Can’t be rebuilt’.
Error processing input. Unable to address. Terminating dialog option.
It was always an odd subject to address for Tania thanks to her programming. It was as if her system couldn’t even recognize it as being a valid conversation subject. It’s not like she was under the impressions that it didn’t exist or anything like that. It was more like she just couldn’t seem to talk or even really think about it.
”I dunno. Boss monsters are supposed to have loot. Maybe we just got a bunch of experience points instead,” she said with a shrug of her shoulders. Admittedly, that part was a bit of a letdown. Getting closer to levelling up wasn’t a bad thing, but it wasn’t nearly as exciting as it was to actually find treasure on a defeated enemy! ”What do you mean? The boss was defeated, so we completed the adventure. I mean, I guess we could always go back into the tunnel and see if there’s anything cool that we missed, but I think that was just made by the sand worm moving around underground.”

((Oh my gosh Tania! XD Sorry! I thought it was your turn the whole time...)
Etoru frowned. This was a total bummer! A huge boss fight...WHICH THEY ALMOST DIED IN...and there's nothing here! What the heck! And the worst part is...TANIA DIDN'T REGISTER A WORD HE JUST SAID! "Hellooo~ are you even listening to me?? Ugh nevermind..." Etoru rolled his eyes stubbornly. Then she mentioned experience points? What the heck was that!?! "Tania...that makes no sense. What is an experience point...?" Etoru slid his hand down his face. "Look I don't care...anyways I'm gonna get home...cya" Etoru slowly floated away from the girl and the corpse of the giant worm monster. However, Etoru stopped and slowly turned his body to face her. "And er...it was kinda fun so...thanks!" Etoru smiled. "...even if I did almost die..." He mumbled to himself. Then with that, Etoru soared off.

Etoru’s reaction continued to baffle Tania. Sure it was disappointing not to get any treasure, but experience points were still a plenty good reward. Experience points meant leveling up. Leveling up meant being able to handle even bigger boss monsters. Bigger boss monsters meant even more loot later! A true adventurer had to be patient about that kind of thing and look at the big picture. ”Experience points are-” Tania began to answer before Etoru said he didn’t care anymore. Aww... Maybe the next time she saw him, she would have to show him one of Kutao’s old adventure simulators. Surely he would have more fun on future adventures if he really knew what they were about. ”Okie dokie. Buh-bye Etoru!” she waved, glad that he had enjoyed himself at least a little bit, though unable to hear the last part that he murmured. Well, Tania had had a lot of fun either way, and she still had a bunch of candy bars left over in her bag! There was no point in letting them go to waste. With one last look back to the defeated sandworm, Tania took to the skies and started on her way South back to the BBA base she was staying at. She bet that the soldiers would want to hear all about the excitement today had brought! ((Yeah. Thanks for being patient with me. ^^  ) |
