Deep within the Bamboo Forest sits an ancient two-story Victorian house, many may think it would be out of place here but the forest made it it's own long ago, the roof overgrown with moss and flora, the once white paint had peeled away reveling the earthy brown wood beneth, the front porch and second story porch decorated with pots containing various herbs and flowers giving splashes of color to the old house, the glass greenhouse connected to the side of the house over flowed with even more lush plant life and slumbering in front of the old house was a large dog-like creature with rough grey skin, it's bottom jaw protruted outward revealing large tusk pointed toward the sky, floppy ears covered its eyes, moss and plants covered it's back as if the creature hadn't moved from its spot in years.
Inside the old home was a much diffrent scene, enter the through the ornate arched double doors in to the foyer decorated with paintings of the witches whom lived before. To the left was a simple living room that lead into the green house. To the right was the kitchen that obviously stated the resident of the house was a witch, potion bottles lined the window sill above the sink, by the stove on a metal hanging rack hung pesants and rabbits. Then into the dinning room where a massive stained glass window draped the whole room in a tantalizing aray of colors. Heading up the to the second story was a long stretch of hallway lined with locked doors except for one. The master bedroom with a connected bathroom, was sparcely furnished with only a bed covered in a pile of blankets and chest. Under those blankets lay a powerful source of Magick.
Tess's head popped out of the pile of blankets, her long golden hair in a curly mess, "Uuuuuuuuugh," she rose out of bed like a zombie, blankets fell to the floor as she set her feet on the old shag rug, King peeked up over of the blankets left on the bed, "Some of us are trying to sleep still.." he mummbled tiredly, the black and white cat slowly dissappered under the heap, "Come cat, we got work to do." Tess grummbled back as she grabbed all the blankets on the bed and threw them up in the air, along with the cat.
The blankets slowly drifted around the room as King landed back onto the bed, "You are so rude!" he laid on the bed dramaticly, Tess rolled her blue eyes, "Oh get over yourself, come on we need to water the plants." She discarded her white nightgown and stretched as she walked out onto the ajacent porch (2nd story porch), then casually waved her hand, water pooled up in the air above her and with a flick of her wrist the water rained down over her and the plants around her. King jumped under the water just in time to clean himself. Both of them shook the water off and Tess walked inside to dress herself.
"Race ya to the bottom!" King bolted past her to the stairs, she threw her hair back, giggling with glee as she ran after him, as they reached to bottom King darted off to the kitchen, but she walked into the foyer as she did every morning, "Good morning, Grandma.... Hi Mom." She rested her hand on the fame which contained the painting of a beautiful brown haired woman, a woman she met for only a second 20 years ago. "HEY! I'm hungry!" Tess turned to look at the pouting cat standing in the walkway with his arms crossed, "Psht, you can feed yourself." King looked down breifly, "But I want sausage...... and I'm not allowed to used the stove..." He kicked at the ground patheticly and looked up with big eyes, Tess shoulders sagged as she tossed her head back, "Fiiiiiiiiiiiine, go get me some wood." King's ears perked as he dashed out of the room on all fours to fetch the fire wood by the back door in th kitchen.
Tess sat on the couch with a plate of sausage and King beside her, happily eating his food. Just as Tess strted to wash the dishes, a gunshot rang out through out the forest, she ran out onto the front porch, but everything seemd quite now, King nerviously clung to her skirt as she walked down off the porch quietly passing the sleeping beast. Hunters don't come this far into the forest, she was about to head back when she heard grunting and rustling grass, it sounded like a group of men, she turned and ran behind the sleeping beast.
"GET OUT OF THE WOODS! It's too dangerous in here!" She shouted while remaing hidden behind the beast, she listened to the men mumble to each other. Despite her warning the continuted their approch, these men were witch hunters, or stupid or both. She peeked over the mossy beast, from where the men stood the beast looked like nothing more than a small hill. As she peeked a bullet zipped passed her head, she squeeked in surprize, "You've got a bounty on yer head witch. Heard ya were sending yer monsters out on innocent people." Typical humans, she couldn't control all of the creatures all the time, and she had placed signs a safe distance away from the forest edge, Warning people to tread causously, but since the beginning of time witches have alway been human's scapegoats.
The three witch hunters started shooting at the 'hill' she was hiding behind, the beast ears stood straight up to the pointed ends and a loud rummbling growl seemed to shake the earth around them, the roots of the plants conecting the beast to the ground snapped like rubber bands as he stood, Tess took the opprotunity to retreated into the house. The beast faced the witch hunters with his long jagged tusk, the cocky humans continuted to shoot at the beast rock hard skin, a massive roar erupted from the creature shaking the surrounding trees, the men toppled over from the force.
They quickly reoragnized trying to shoot the creature from diffrent angles but the beast headed no mind to the bullets ricoching off of him, The beast shook his head and charged the man infront of him, wounding him gravely. The beast turned to face the other two, the men dropped their guns and began to pray once they relized their guns were pointless. The beast charged toward them, both men closed their eye ready for the end...... but nothing hit them, they opened their eyes to see the beast inches from their faces, Tess walked up beside the beast with staring coldly at the men beneth her, "Leave."
One man cried out in reif as the duo stood and ran leaving their guns and supplies. She picked up what the men left behind, and smiled knowing full well that letting them live and try to get throught the forest without weapons was a far worse fate. She returned outside and inspected the wounded man, he was alive, barely. His eyes and lips weakly pleaded for mercy, she glanced back at her sweet beast as he returned to his spot, then turned back to the man with her pupils small and a cruel smile, "Oh don't worry~ I won't let you die........ Not before we have some fun~" She dragged him into her cellar and King slowly closed the cellar doors with a smile as the screaming began.
