So hey. I'm bringing this up now because it, hilariously enough, effects me directly. So yeah. Specials. I honestly think they should be limited, but... Before y'all get your pitchforks and torches, let me say why. Specials are just that. Special. I don't think anyone, other then Goku, has had more then 1 special. Now I know some of you are going "that's unfair! That's unfair! Don't limit us to just one." So I'm gonna level with you for a few reasons on why the limit should be TWO. 1) We're not DIRECTLY following the show's canon on some things, so I can see some of us possibly learning more then one special. 2) Those poor, old-school demons, such as Nabel will be left out because they used to have to start with a special, so it'll allow them to learn an additional special from a school, if they wanted to. The way I'm looking at it now, the voting options would be "1" "2" and "3", in terms of limit. Because, there really SHOULD be a limit, other wise people will just hoard specials and use nothing but those. This also greatly affects Toma who wishes to be the Power Ball (which is a special) teacher, but is also a student of the Turtle Hermit Ninjin Nedrag, who teaches the Kienzan. Just saiyan. Anyway, discuss.

I think it's a good idea. Why call it a special if you have a bunch of them and other people have a bunch of the same moves as you? Might as well call it "Taught Techniques" with that being the case =p

Two or three sounds good to me to be honest. It also prevents people from going "Technique hunting" and getting too powerful.

I do agree there should be a limit to specials. 2~3 at most, or at the very least a cap on how many you can use in a thread.
Else it might get a bit crazy if someone was to hoard specials and then unleash them onto the world, especially if the 'palace' option is implanted someday.

I feel that limiting a number of specials one can learn could prove to be problematic because that could stifle some creativity when it comes to peoples move sets. Though I feel like in order to combat people abusing them there could either be a rule that limits there amounts of use in a thread or perhaps they could take longer to learn? Like say if you make a 6k Power jump you can opt to wait getting a new move till you get another 6k letting you unlock a new special? The first 2 or 3 could not be held to this limit but after getting past a certain point it becomes harder to unlock them. I dunno I'm just kinda spit balling.

Specials should cost 4 tech slots to learn. As for a limit, sure.

I think 3 specials should be satisfactory; nothin' too fancy or exorbitant.

I think it should be 1 but you should be free to lose your special and learn another if you like.
Powerball, for instance, becomes pretty much useless in the late game, so Toma could choose to drop that and pick up Kienzan at no cost when neither he nor anyone he knows would benefit from using Powerball any more.
Old school demons should probably be revised to work the same as new flavour demons.
I think 2 would be 'okay' (though I still think that'd be 1 too many, really), 3 would be too many. Technique slots aren't a limit at all they just mean that when you get to 500,000 you'll have 10 specials and when you're starting out you'll have none.

Power Ball isn't useless if you have saiyans under 100k. Power Ball gives the CASTER x8, but everyone else is still x10

Well, I think when you get up to the top tiers of power, any thread you are involved in, your <100k allies won't be given enough of a power boost to become relevant just by a x10.
But either way, that's the sort of decision I think you should have to make. There's not a lot of room to differentiate between characters in terms of techniques, but specials open up that design space. I think if you want to be the ally-boostin' Powerball Dude, you shouldn't also get to have Kienzan.
It is interesting to have to make a tradeoff, IMO. I totally get why some people wouldn't like that, but limitations can be fun.

x1 100k with 2 70k alies vs a 150k enemy
that's a 1,200,000 and x2 700,000 vs a 2,000,000 I think? That could provide a significant advantage.

Specials should be limited yes, though instead of limiting how many someone can learn to one or two, you could limit how many you can use in a fight. Like using three different special techniques in a thread, but only once per technique, which would limit the use of them effectively, and make people use them more strategically instead of simply blasting one after another. Though, if you do want to limit how many someone can learn do a limit of nine, but do the limit of three per thread and only can use them once each. Make the roleplayers think more while fighting instead of limiting special techniques to one or two, and letting players use them infinitely.

Sure. x1 300k (rocking MSSJ for 4.5 mil total) and 2x70k allies vs 1 5mil opponent? That's 5.9mil vs 5mil but the moment the 5 mil hits one of the little guys they explode into bloody chunks. Besides, the fact powerball could be useful is a good thing - it means there's a tradeoff to be made and I see that as a positive (though I think it is likely that you stop wanting powerball eventually, where Kienzan remains great all the way through - if you don't, that's obviously a decision you'd have to make ICly!)

I thought Specials were already limited to one.
I think there should be a limit, 2 Sounds good to me. That way you can have your own and learn one from an ally (Or two from different allies if you don't have a Dojo/Palace).

I agree with a cap of 1 or 2 Specials, BUT this doesn't include specials or other techniques you might be lucky enough to get taught in the afterlife.
