Hi everyone. I'm applying for the position of Moderator on the site. While I'm not particularly interested in grading things, I feel I'd be great at analyzing techniques as well as possible characters that join. I always like thinking about how things work, so I'm great at making sure nothing is game-breaking, but at the same time I'm willing to discuss things. I've also noticed that the site needs someone who can lurk on the site and put their boot down fast when something is going down in the C-Box. I'd like to be that person. I don't feel like putting up with shenangians and I don't care if people think less of me for it.
Would this site's populace like to put me in that kind of position?

I'd just like to say that you're not the most active member as-is. Are you sure you can handle staff duties?

To bring it from the cbox, one of my problems with Toma's application is him not being interested in grading. To me, that's a red flag cause no other volunteers got to decide that, and its like 99% of mod work, and why even mod if you're not going to do help with that? It gets super frustrating sometimes, being one of the only graders with multiple other mods around who don't really do the big grind.
We're in need of people who are willing to grade.

I kind of agree with Vipoi on the aspect that that being a 'Cbox' moderator is a side-job to the actual job of a forum moderator that involves a lot more.
And we do seriously need more active graders...
To pick the 'fun' things you like, and just ignore the rest of the job is something nobody gets to do really, else there wouldn't be any work getting done.

After conversing with Pieter he has convinced me to learn to grade things as well. Just don't be expecting me to be grading 20 threads on my first day if I get the job >_>

20 threads is an overkill (you're not a robot like Vipoi~). Once you get used to it, things tend to go fairly fast. Even like 3~5 a day would already speed us up a lot, and would likely take no longer than maybe 20~30 minutes depending on how fast you are?
But yes, didn't try to sound negatively, but we really need more active mods for grading since Vipoi is getting slowly burned out by dealing with most of them (although I been trying to assist him a little on the matter).

Hah, I know. I'm just making a joke about how I'll need to get used to the task first. I'll probably use a few BP's to practice first before I move on to actual threads, according to what I talked with Pieter about.

Speaking from experience, the hardest part of grading is keeping all of the different multipliers in line. xD What I used to do is have a .txt notepad file open whenever I graded that had a cheatsheet of all the multipliers I'd add up for each instance. But grading is honestly fun, because you're one of the people who are rewarding people for their writing.

I've already made contact with him about it, after being reminded after the earlier portions before that post you have there. He'll be getting to it ASAP. My forgetful mind led to this.
