[Heavy Weights on] [Learning Eye Blast[MP3]]
Nai-Ran took a deep breath as she surveyed the area, the numerous patches and lines of broken bamboo stirring up some rather unsettling memories. The day’s travelling had brought her to a somewhat familiar place, as this hadn’t exactly been the first time she had entered the bamboo forest. She had actually chosen to revisit this spot for a specific reason. The young woman hadn’t seen Oni in a long time. That didn’t mean she could slack off on her training. As much as she liked to believe that Earth was a relatively safe place, she knew very well that those with malicious intent were still out there. She couldn’t allow another repeat of what happened the last time she was in the bamboo forest. The Ryashi was hoping that visiting this specific place would give her a much-needed push.
Nai-Ran took a deep breath and scanned the sky. She didn’t want to accidentally shoot anyone or anything out of the air with what she was planning on doing. Everything looked clear. She would still have to keep a sharp eye out just in case that changed in the middle of her training session though. The serpentine lass closed her eyes for a brief moment before snapping her eyelids back open and firing a burst of bright red ki simultaneously from each one into the air. As soon as they dissipated, she continued to gaze upward with a look of dissatisfaction on her face. That simply wouldn’t do. Her eye blasts weren’t nearly as strong as she needed them to be.
”Alright, let’s give this another go,” she murmured as she scanned the sky once more. Just like last time, there were no obstacles in her way. Nai-Ran went through the exact same motions as before, closing her eyes before forcing them open and letting two more beams pierce the sky. Once they cleared, she let out a sigh. A small frown crept across her face. It still wasn’t good enough. How was she supposed to hold her own in combat if her attacks weren’t up to par? Instructor Re-Za wouldn’t have been pleased at all if he had witnessed such a performance from her.
Nai-Ran pursed her lips together and lowered her gaze to look around the environment once more. The battle with Oni began to play out in her mind as she observed the patches of destruction that they had left in their wake. There were lines of bamboo that had been destroyed from the ki attacks used by both parties, several smashed stalks from one of their bodies being thrown backwards, as well as the large patch of upturned dirt from where she had skidded across the ground upon losing most of her tail. It was that last part that really made her grimace. It wasn’t just the loss that got to the young woman or the incredible pain that had coursed through her body that, at the time, she had been absolutely positive had been damaged beyond repair. It had been the feeling of helplessness that it had left her with. Not only that, but allowing her friends to see her in such a state and worry about her wellbeing. It was something that was unacceptable for someone looking to one day looking to take her father’s place.
The Ryashi closed her eyes and relaxed the muscles in her face as she continued to play out when she remembered of that fight. There were plenty of details that could have altered the outcome of that fight had they been different. One of said details had already been taken care of, which was the fact that Nai-Ran now carried Senzu Beans with her to use just in case she happened across trouble and things got bad. The detail she needed to focus on now was tuning up her signature move.
Nai-Ran kept her eyes closed; her concentration was unwavering. She had narrowed down the past exchange of power to a few moments in particular. There was the point where she had managed to blind Oni with her eye blast, the point where most of her tail had been blasted off, and the point where she had started hearing Ninjin’s distressed voice as she came to her aid. It was hard to remember that last one since she had barely been clinging to consciousness at that point. One by one, each moment was replayed in her mind. She could feel something building up from deep within her. She had to grow stronger! People weren’t supposed to worry about her like that! It was her job to be worrying about them!
The young woman slowly looked back up at the sky, a renewed intensity shining in her crimson eyes. There was nothing above her that she needed to worry about avoiding. Nai-Ran grit her teeth and squeezed her eyes shut for a split second. With newfound determination, she snapped her eyes open and let two powerful beams of bright red ki rip into the sky. She could feel the dirt beneath her scales shift as it actually managed to propel her backwards an inch or two. Once the sky had cleared, the young woman stared up at the clouds, contemplating what had just happened. Had she actually done it? That was definitely a lot stronger than her first two attempts that day...

(Heavy Weights on)
The rich dark ground held the fertile seeds of the end, and the beginning of life. The cycle was stepped on and ignored every day, every waking moment right under you, yet who paid their dues to the Earth and soil? The monstrosity known as Koramund has finally embraced his precursor bio-virus, his deeds of the dark realms finally taking root into his body. The atrocity of nature did not bother with creeping, the tactic would be wasted on the feeble minds that witnessed his approach. His foot stabbed into the Earth, the upturned soil fertile with a recent corpse's destruction. He sniffed the air, the crisp remains, it was reptilian, scaly, yes it was clearly an organism near by, its mixture was interrupting the scent. The new tyrant would go against anyone he deemed weaker by a vast margin, enough for easy prey, but standing- no slithering, near him was a pink haired beauty with crimson eyes.
The woman was attractive to Koramund in a weird way, she had so much thermal energy, so much potential energy, and yet so much tapped! Her form held only 21K power level, his new eyes easily finding her power level, but the armor embedded on her. He cursed in silence, his own power level restricted so low it would not even be a contest. The beast exposed himself to the serpentine mistress, his crimson eyes glowing like a daemon, his pure white bone body was Arcosian in nature, but his tail was clearly something else. The beast spoke in a fluent tongue, his words slipping out like a liquid stream, "Hello there Mistress, how is your laser eyes working for you?"

Alright, it was time for another try! There was no chance that a onetime fluke was going to be sufficient. Nai-Ran needed to make sure she had this more powerful version of her eye blast mastered before she would be satisfied with her training session. What was it exactly that triggered it though? Was it her memories of the fight itself? Her desire to keep a strong appearance? Her need to protect others? The young woman would have to do some experimenting in order to narrow it down.
The Ryashi closed her eyes and began to concentrate once again, deciding to focus on her memories first. However, hearing movement coming from behind caught her attention and caused her to open them right back up. Nai-Ran slowly turned to face whoever or whatever was approaching her to find that it was indeed a ‘who’. Standing in front of her was yet another being she had never seen before. He was white and had a tail that looked somewhat similar to Reikiko’s but still noticeably different. His eyes were of a similar hue to her own.
”Good afternoon to you, sir. I sincerely hope that I haven’t disturbed you with my little training session here,“ Nai-Ran returned the greeting, straightening out her posture and folding her hands neatly in her lap now that she was no longer alone. She wasn’t sure who the man was or what he was doing all the way out here in this ruined portion of the bamboo forest, but it was still important for her to mind her manners. Though, there was something in his voice that was somewhat off-putting, even if she couldn’t quite place her finger on it. Oh well, surely she was just overthinking things again. ”Thank you for your concern. So far I would say it’s going well. I’ve had some marginal success with it. Now it’s simply a matter of getting consistent results.“

The power, lord she shot it out like it was nothing! She focused, the tension increasing, hmm, thermal activity around her eyes increased. She spoke with respect, and he noticed the straightening out of her spine and body. Manners, she was clearly either well educated or formal. Her use of ki would be strange if Koramund himself was not the android he is. The beast gave up stealth, warping his body into a long stream and then rising up in her face, inches away. His head and neck was all that stretched out from the Earth, and it spun around her after taking a look. He said, "Serpent in origin, humanoid. Assumption of cold blood, needs natural light to warm internal body and organs. Excellent ki, powerful, able to use through muscles. These changes are leaps and bounds in the right direction, but I do believe there is an easier way to accomplish your task. If you use a tiny amount of ki, and try forming the eye lasers, looking at a single spot, then increasing the output of ki, the energy should inevitably cancel each other, reaching into a percentile of your max strength. At least, that is how my own training worked any ways..."
The structure of her muscles clearly detailed most of her mass is allocated to her tail, but the interesting thing would be the colors. White was a cool color, same as pink, so she would require additional time bathing in the sun for heat to be gathered, unless a kinetic organelle absorbed the heat, and kept it in. The beast returned into one piece, speaking with a liquid like tongue, "Pardon my behavior, I have not seen a species, let alone a race quite as fascinating as you are. Your build suggests so many questions, but the answers even though obvious look oblivious. I am Koramund, the Bio Android that saved both North and East capital from Saiyans, Daemons, a girl who was on fire, and a prince." He was not completely sure if he was in the right directions, but he heard of the East City Westmens, so he was pretty sure East city was also to the north. Wait where was he again?

Nai-Ran blinked slowly, staring at the stream of goo where the gentleman she had been speaking with was just standing. Wh-what? He... melted? Had she eaten something strange that day and was starting to see things? Whether it was that or if he honestly had the ability to shift his form like that, the young woman wasn’t quite sure. A single tendril reached up from the goo on the forest floor; the man’s head was attached to the tip of it and mere inches from the young woman’s face as she continued to look on in shock. This was a thought that she had found crossing her mind quite a bit as of late, but she had definitely never seen anyone quite like that before.
”Umm, y-yes?” the Ryashi spoke as he listed off several traits of her species. She was still trying to wrap her head around the fact that she was speaking with someone who had just liquefied right before her very eyes. What exactly was he getting at by listing off those things though? Nai-Ran might have called him out of the ordinary for that, but would just be redundant at this point. ”Your advice is appreciated, but I think I might have this under control. Besides, my instructor would be incredibly hurt if he learned that I was ignoring his methods in favor of another,” she declined with a smile. Yes, Instructor Re-Za was yet another curious fellow. However, he was one of Appodorra’s most renowned masters of ki for a good reason.
After the comment about her training technique and spending a bit more time looking her over, the odd man reformed himself back into the solid mass that he had first approached her as. He introduced himself as Koramund, and he had quite the list of accomplishments to his name. It sounded like he had gone up against some rather interesting opponents. ”It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Koramund. I am Nai-Ran of the Rassuto, savior of none but still doing what I can to defend those that I come across. Please, just call me Nai-Ran,” she returned the introduction. Perhaps she could have counted those farmers from Spinach Wastes that she help defend from raging Paozusaurus, but Ninjin had been the one to actually slay the beast. It really didn’t matter too much anyway. ”I’m a Ryashi. It’s not too surprising that I’m the first of my kind that you’ve encountered. We generally don’t stray from our home planet. To my knowledge, there are only two of us on this planet. I’ve been proven wrong before, though,” she chuckled. He seemed strangely fascinated by her. At least his initial reaction wasn’t one of fear though. That was definitely something she didn’t need anymore of.

Koramund sighed, watching her, growing slowly more bored. She was interesting as all hell, but her structure was not something that was more efficient then he thought. He snarled deep in his throat, echoing out a small pulse. He asked, "Do you find my form disturbing mistress? You seen confused... but thank you very much for explaining yourself, few show honor in their words." Was he one of those? Maybe, but his words implied what he meant, and what he meant was a flowing river, it changed with each different piece of information that splashes in or blocks it. His mind was constantly processing all this information to make sure he held everything perfectly. He then bowed, saying, "It is also a pleasure, Lady Nai-ran of the Rassuto." He coughed, tapping his own throat, whispering to himself silently, before tapping it again. He mentioned, "Vocal cords, normal size, slightly covered towards the back of the neck for animal like sounds, assumption. But it can be assumed that every mystery tends to always be as creepy as it should be."
Koramund snickered, his crimson eyes slowly opening, glowing like blood stones. His shoulder plates rippled, growing their spikes for a moment, preparing almost to stab out like claws. His spine grew out its cord, glowing with its acidic substance. He stabbed his tail into the ground, leaving a strange trail of emerald green digestive fluids, looking to a dead bamboo stick. He said, "What a poor travesty of death, it would take to much time for nature's course to be taken." This experiment, why was he treating her like one? She seemed honorable, good, nice. He felt some rage and loathing because of that. The bamboo was impaled by the emerald green fluid, as it melted down in mere moments! The fluid dripped into the Earth, turning it into a mouth of dirt, melting even rock, albeit slower but still, quickly into the decayed. He smiled and said, "That is better..."

Nai-Ran slowly shook her head, her expression softening a bit. She hadn’t realized until he asked that question what an unpleasant look that must have spread across her face. The young woman was supposed to be better than that. Any trace of shock or confusion faded from her face, and was replaced with her usual polite smile. ”I don’t believe that ‘disturbed’ is the correct word. Surprised would be a better fit. I’ve encountered many beings with differing physical appearances. Though, you are the first to change your shape like this. That’s a new one for me,” she explained.
”If you would, could you please refrain from calling me ‘Lady’? Where I come from, such titles are generally reserved for those who either currently hold or formally held a seat of power. I’ve just barely crossed the line into adulthood, so there’s no chance that I’d be ready for being referred to as ‘Lady Nai-Ran’ any time soon,” explained the young woman. She really didn’t want to think about that for the moment, especially considering where they were. The last time she was in the bamboo forest, she had been frightened out of her mind that her father would have forbid her to assume his position due to the severe injuries that she had taken. While not having to worry about taking such responsibility would have been quite the load off of her shoulders, the reasoning behind it was enough to make her cringe even now.
Koramund appeared to be having some throat problems, though the way he referred to it as a mystery didn’t seem to make much sense. He said himself that his vocal chords were slightly covered in order to make animal sounds. Was that unusual for his species? Even so, why might it have been considered creepy? Who knows, perhaps Nai-Ran was the strange one in this case for not having any problems with it. After all, she had encountered all manner of different beings while she was growing up, even if they weren’t as common as they were in the more tourist-oriented regions of Appodorra.
A laugh escaped him as his body began to shift. Spikes protruded from his shoulders. Koramund’s backbone glowed with an eerie light before the tip of his tail darted downwards, piercing into the ground and splashing a bright green fluid around the point of impact. The strange substance melted all it came into contact with almost instantly. The young woman watched carefully as the acidic fluid worked, making a mental note not to touch the stuff. She looked back to the man as he commented on the destruction around them. ”I’m afraid that I played a hand in it. A while back, I took part in a battle here that didn’t end so well for me. Honestly, it’s a wonder that I’m still alive,” Nai-Ran chuckled sheepishly. Her mind was still heavy with the memories of her battle with Oni. It simply served to reinforce her need to get stronger.

Koramund stopped his strange game, his behavior shifting like the flow of time itself. The mutant shifted his form back his regular boring old self, his albino bone skin very easy to see in the day light. He spoke with his dark attitude, "Well pardon me then my friend, I do believe I have some business to attend do up in Jingle Village." Koramund slowly floated up, his form almost like an inverse silhouette. The nightmare beast mumbled to himself, "Hmm, what if a horde came instead of a single one?" Koramund shattered into a swarm of albino crows, flying as a murder over the land. The beast would remember her, but it was clear he could not turn HER into food. He had to pick his battles, and she would simply deck him in the halls then disintegrate him. Where was a Giras where you need one? He zoomed down, unleashing his power, and lifted up the corpse. He would be eating tonight!

Nai-Ran watched him shift his form yet again. Koramund then spoke of having business in a place called Jingle Village before he rose straight up into the air. The young woman had never heard of such a place. Then again, there were a lot of places on Earth that she had never heard of. This was nothing new. The young woman’s pointed ears twitched as she could have sworn heard faint mumbles coming from him as he continued to ascend, but he was too far away for her to actually hear what he was saying. Just like that he flew off, passing through a flock of white birds and sending them every which-way. The Ryashi blinked as she watched the sky in the direction her new acquaintance had left in. Her hands were still folded neatly in front of her. ”What an odd fellow...” she found herself mumbling to nobody in particular. It was the strangest thing, really. Koramund claimed himself to be a hero, but Nai-Ran was getting an eerie feeling from him that she just couldn’t seem to rid herself of. It was hardly fair to judge someone based on something like that, but it wasn’t going away. The serpentine lass shook her head. She was reading far too much into this. Deciding that the odd feeling was coming from the battlefield around her rather than the being that had just left her presence, Nai-Ran uncoiled herself and decided to slither her way out of the Bamboo Forest. That would be enough for the day’s training session. While she would have liked to test out the more powerful version of her eye blast a bit further, she seriously felt like she needed to get out of there. The important thing was that she had managed to push herself to achieve that new level. She could always practice with it another day. ~Thread Completed~

Eye lasers can be such a pain to learn, speaking from experience XD And your Jingle Village remark was some ominous foreshadowing. Calculating...Calculating... Nai-Ran, your WC is calculated at 2489 and I estimate your gains at 4760 PL! Kora, your WC is calculated 1142 at 1142 and I put your gains at 1824 PL! Koramund
