[Heavy Weights, ON]
After hearing the voice of Emer echoing through the beautiful, blue skies of the world. Athren had left his beautiful relaxing place to rush back to the apartment. Obviously this situation was going to be quite dire. Athren had spent so much of his time training actually techniques that he had forgotten to train his tail in the meantime! That would have been WAY to big of a weakness for his enemies to exploit given the opportunity. He needed to train it, and fast. The only possibly way he could do that quickly, was with the help of Kaiyo! Hopefully she'd be home, for if she wasn't Athren wouldn't have a choice but to go along with his second plan which was quite simple. His plan B was ditch the weighted gear, suit up for battle and then blast off to battle. It would be quick and easy. Is speed was rapid, his heart was pounding against his chest. His head was still wrapped around the whole concept of himself being the first target! Why the hell did Emer pick him!? It must have been the comment about stopping him if the time ever came. Which it was obviously now, though he wasn't ready. ~ Damn it, Why did this have to happen!? ~ Flying at such a high speed it didn't take long for the young saiyan warrior to enter the city of West Capital and it didn't take him much longer to reach their apartment window. If Anzu had been home to give him hell, Athren still wouldn't have cared! He was going to use the damn window! It was a hell of a lot quicker than walking the building and right now he was in a MASSIVE RUSH!
Entering the building Athren's feet firmly planted against the floor of the apartment with a thud. It would have been more than loud enough to insure that anybody in the room would be able to hear him. His eyes quickly glanced over to Sprocket, who had been in his cage. He honestly felt bad for the poor guy, and at this point he had wished that he spent more quality time with him. Now that this situation had popped up that Athren may not be able to walk away from he was getting quite the emotional thoughts and at the very moment he wanted to pull his puppy out and give him some attention but he couldn't. It was slightly unusual for the young saiyan to get all emotional like this but he couldn't help it. Giving his light head a shake Athren mumbled to himself. "Blah. That's enough Athren. I've got work to do." With that being said he began to walk towards Kaiyo's bedroom. Hopefully she had been home.
In a VERY loud voice Athren had made himself noticed. "Kaiyo! I need your help! Right now!" It wasn't like Athren to ask for help and she would probably notice that but she would be the ONLY one he'd trust enough with this. Sure, doing the actual work wouldn't be much.. work but it was the fact that she'd be the ONLY person that he knew to see him while he had been at his absolute weakest state. There wouldn't be a time other than this where he'd be completely useless and pathetic. In a fight if he was near useless he had put up one hell of a fight. That would have been certain but here..? She wouldn't be doing anything more than gripping his tail but that would be more than enough to bring him down to his knee's. The thought of it almost gave Athren a spine shivering chill but he'd have to face it. If he didn't he was SURELY going to be killed by the hunter. "Come on Kaiyo, Hurry up! Please!" by this point in time he had known she was home. He had finally decided to be logical and just sense her Ki. There was no denying that she was there. Now it was just a matter of her answering him and helping him out!
Hopefully she'd hurry up, there wasn't any time to be wasted! As Athren waited impatiently he tapped his foot against the floor repeatedly and cross his arms tightly to his chest. The sad part was? Only seconds had gone by.. but they had felt like hours! This situation had the young saiyan cranked right up. Then again, he didn't know if he was going to be alive for more than a few hours! Who knew what could happen!?

Had Kaiyo finally snapped?! She had been meandering about the small apartment she shared with Athren and her sister as usual, the other two occupants noticeably absent for their own reasons. It was just like any other day, really. Athren was probably out training again. Anzu was out doing... whatever it was that she did on her days off that didn’t involve training. And Kaiyo was being an antisocial shut in just waiting for night to hurry up and fall. However, that’s where any signs of the day being normal ended.
Without any sort of warning, the fiery teenager had heard a booming voice challenging an unnamed Saiyan coming from outside of the living room window. Was some punk trying to challenge Athren to a fight or something? It’s not like there were any other Saiyans living there, so who else could he have meant? Not having anything better to do and figuring she could at least tell the weirdo that he was out of luck if not challenge him herself, she decided to investigate. The only problem? There was absolutely nobody outside of the window!
Weirded out by the whole thing and not sure if she was hearing voices or the little punk just decided to book it, Kaiyo hopped out the open living room window to scale the side of the apartment complex, as she often did when she wanted some time to herself. The roof had given her a far better vantage point than their third story window, but there was still no sign of whoever had shouted the challenge. However, there was something else that caught her interest instead. The pedestrians that littered the sidewalk seemed to be looking around as well, appearing to be just as confused as she was, if not more so. ”The hell is going on? Did they hear it too?” the teenager murmured to herself, continuing to gaze at the people below.
Suddenly, Kaiyo’s attention was snared by a flash in her peripheral vision. She looked over just in time to see a figure zoom into the window she had just hopped out of, followed by a thud sounding from the living room. Her eyebrow twitched in annoyance. Whoever that had been was flying way too fast to get a good look at them. However, she was going to give whoever was intruding in her house a friendly introduction to her fists. At least, she would have had she not heard her name being yelled rather loudly by a familiar voice. That was Athren? He was yelling for help? That was a first. Normally the guy was way too proud to ask for assistance with anything, at least not from her. It sounded pretty urgent too, whatever the issue was.
The redhead casually stepped off of the side of the roof and kicked off of the building next to her apartment complex so that she somersaulted into the living room right behind Athren as he called out to her again. ”Oy, what’s up?” she asked as she stood up, crossing her arms over her chest in the process. Kaiyo decided to skip the casual conversation for right now. He looked like he had seen a ghost. Wait a second... As the realization dawned on her, her face scrunched into a look that was a mix of both confusion and concern. ”Does this have something to do with that freaky voice that everyone else in the city heard a minute ago? Are you involved? What the hell even was that?”

What the hell had been taking her so long?! Blah! He didn't exactly have time for this. He needed help NOW! There was absolutely no time to waste. It was only a matter of time until the saiyan hunter known as Emer came blasting down their damn apartment building. He needed to move sooner than later. As the time went by, it had felt like even more hours had blown by. It was then when he had heard that soft, sweet and beautiful voice behind him. ~How did she?!~ Considering that his emotions were all in a huff, he must have just ASSUMED she was in her room. When he had sensed her being on the roof. Regardless, she was here now and it was time to make his request and explain this situation. That was of course, assuming if she asked.
Pivoting on his right foot Athren turned around swiftly to face the red headed beauty, in the back of his mind he couldn't help but wonder.. would this be the last time he'd get to see her? Though at this time, he felt like he was currently out of breath by just seeing her he managed to spit out a few words. The situation he had been in was much too important to let this beautiful woman cloud his judgement. "About time you showed up." Though, he didn't mean this rudely it may have came out in such a manner. That was his last intent at the moment but the urgency was obviously getting the best of him.
It was then in that moment she had a look of confusion crawl over her face, though that wasn't it. There was more to this look than just confusion. There was a mix of concern in there with it. Though why? Was it for her well-being? her sisters, Sprockets? His?! Hell. He didn't know but whatever it was. He'd only ask if it kept up AFTER he explained everything to her. With his arms still crossed firmly across his chest his beautiful, shining ocean blue eyes would have attempted to stare into her own gorgeous and flawless eyes. "Yes, that's exactly what it's about Kaiyo and Yes. I'm involved. Probably in the worst way possible." With that, Athren had taken a very short pause. Long enough for her to spit something out if she had chose too. Though, he wouldn't stay off track for long. All he was doing was thinking back to the EXACT words that Emer had said in his little speech.
Taking a moment, Athren took a nice breath in. Loudly, trying to relax he exhaled loudly from his mouth. It was time to explain every single thing he knew about the voice. Which had been mostly everything. "The voice came from Emer. The saiyan hunter. You're probably going to ask me how I know that so I'll just give you those details too. A few weeks ago I took Sprocket out with me to train and guess who showed up? Him. We chatted and he explained everything to me, his reasons, his motives. I wanted to face him head on right there but Sprocket was in my arms. I couldn't fight and he claimed that Sprocket was too innocent to get involved. At that time, he was stronger than me. Now, I'm not quite sure." Athren paused for a moment again, his eyes scanning her face for any kind of reaction to his words. "Now, that leads me to now. It's obvious he wants to destroy all the saiyans and ones harbouring them. From the sounds of it. Earth and my home Planet Vegeta are in his sights.. His last comment was directed to me. He called me out. So, I'm going to face him and try to end this thing."
With a look of confidence on his face Athren then opened up to let another few words out. "Before I go face him, I need your help." Getting to the explanation right away he swirled his tail around to bring it into her eyesight. "My tail is my biggest weakness. Well, the biggest weakness of all saiyan's until it's trained. So, before I go face this guy I need you to grab my tail and squeeze it. It's going to cause me a lot of pain and make me hit this floor in a hurry, but you can't let go until I say so, it's better you do this to me than him. Cause if it's him that does it. I'm as good as dead." With that Athren watched to see her reaction. He assumed she'd be hesitate at first and need a little bit more encouragement. Athren did have a valid point. He was going to go whether she had helped him or not. Though, If she hadn't.. he'd be a lot less prepared.....

"Look, I heard that weird voice comin’ from outside and I went to go take a look. Excuse the hell outta me for not being exactly where you wanted me to be," Kaiyo grumbled, glancing back at the window in an attempt to avoid looking at his face for a moment. She hadn’t really gotten a chance to talk to him at all since her sister had dragged her on stupid shopping trip of hers. One or both of them had been busy for whatever reason. The teenager still wasn’t exactly sure how to feel about the guy. There was no doubt that Anzu had been right to some extent. Athren definitely showed at least a little interest in her in that way. What was she supposed to do exactly though? Ever since the drama in high school with her pansy-assed ex, Kaiyo didn’t really see herself as ‘girlfriend’ material.
It’s not that she didn’t like him or anything like that. Athren had a tough exterior that wasn’t overshadowed by the soft side he seemed to have for her and Sprocket, which was a good thing as far as she was concerned. He was one of the strongest fighters she had ever seen. He wasn’t bad looking either. Maybe one of the most important things Athren had going for him was that Kaiyo felt like she could talk to him. Well, about most stuff anyway. This was proving to be a difficult subject to get into, especially with him. The redhead simply wasn’t any good with touchy feely stuff, even back then. After her pyrokinesis had shown up and basically ruined the life she had before, she did everything she could to shut that part of her off even more. Trying to get comfortable with the idea again wasn’t something that was going to be quick or easy.
When Kaiyo finally brought her gaze back to the Saiyan standing with her in the small living room, he was staring directly into her eyes. Why did he have to do that? He was making it awfully difficult to stay annoyed at him over his rude comment. Oh well, she guessed she could give it a pass this time. Things were sounding pretty bad. The teenager apparently had a good reason to be concerned. As she had originally suspected, the challenge she had heard had been directed at him.
So, Athren found psycho that Toma was talking about after all... It sounded like Sprocket saved his ass big time too. How the hell this ‘Emer’ guy was able to do that with his voice, the teenager had no clue. It didn’t really matter though. What mattered was that he was on the move and that Athren was his first target. It was pretty brave of him to go running off to fight a guy that was probably stronger than he was. She really hoped that that bravery didn’t get him into trouble. Then again, Kaiyo probably would have done the same thing if someone threw her a direct challenge. She wasn’t the type to hide and just hope whoever challenged her eventually got tired of looking for her. She expected no less of Saiyan in front of her, even if she wouldn’t have blamed him for trying to avoid it. The guy he was to face sounded like a real weirdo. "Looks like you’ve got one hell of a fight on your hands. Count me in!" she said with a confident smirk on her face, cracking her knuckles.
However, joining him in combat wasn’t exactly what Athren had in mind when he had been asking for her help. That figured... Kaiyo didn’t exactly have a history of being asked to join fights. She just kind of butted in whenever she found one. Instead, he swung his tail around and lifted it between the both of them in order to bring her attention to it. Anzu had already explained how most Saiyans had weak tails after the fight with the three chumps that came after Athren on the night that she met him. She had been told all about how gripping them not only sent pain shooting through their bodies, but it also temporarily paralyzed them in most cases. Her sister wanted her to be fully prepared in case Kaiyo ever had to fight more of them. That just made it even more difficult to believe what she was hearing from Athren.
"Woah there... You want me to grab it?!" she asked with a raised eyebrow. Kaiyo glanced back and forth between his tail and his face. He looked completely serious. The way that both he and Anzu made it sound, that was supposed to hurt more than anything she could imagine. Athren seriously wanted HER to do it to him?! The thought of causing Athren that much pain, especially on purpose, didn’t sit well at all with Kaiyo. She guessed it was better than if the guy he was going to go fight did it. It sounded like he knew what he was doing, but that didn’t mean she was going to like it. This was going to suck for both of them...
"Er... I guess if you really think it’s gonna help..." It was obviously from her tone of voice that she was reluctant about it. The redhead stared at Athren’s tail nervously. It was a pretty big shift from her usual demeanor. Kaiyo wanted to argue with him about it, but the way he talked made it seem like they didn’t have much time. The guy sounded 100% positive that this would help him get over his weakness, so she figured she might as well suck it up and just get it over with. There was no sense in drawing it out. "Alright, I’m gonna grab it. Tell me when to let go!" Kaiyo warned him after taking a deep breath. With that, both of her hands darted out and gripped the furry appendage, giving it a solid squeeze. The teenager gritted her teeth, trying to prepare herself for the Saiyan’s reaction. As much as she knew she wasn’t going to like doing this, it was going to pale in comparison to whatever Athren was about to go through.

After his rude remark, the beautiful woman had her own little comment to jab in there. The hell?! She was being quite.. defensive. Though he had understood where she was coming from. He did just so happen to deserve it. Though, before things go too serious in this small apartment he figured he'd try to make things right. She watched as she turned her head to look at the window. His first thought had been about the flowers. ~Guess they didn't do much.. Huh?~ He had assumed that the effort behind them had gone to waste but that was definitely a topic for another day. Making up for his rude comment, he decided to apologize. As if it wasn't for her speaking what she did, he wouldn't have even known exactly rude he had been. "Whoa! Kaiyo. I'm sorry, Okay? I'm just in a rush. That's it, I didn't mean to be rude to you! It's kind of a life or death thing right now. That's it!" With that being said it was just about time to get to the painful stuff.
It didn't take very long after that had been said for her to turn his gaze back to him. Finally, her eyes had met his ocean blues. It was in that moment that all of the problems of the world had faded away. It was in that exact moment when nothing else but the two of them together mattered. Instead of worrying so much and trying to rush through this, Athren took a deep breath. Why did she have this effect on him?! He knew he liked her A LOT, but this was pushing it quite far. It was an odd feeling that she had given him. He had butterflies in his stomach, a light heart. It didn't make sense. He wasn't a professional with these kinds of feelings considering the simple fact that he hadn't had them before, EVER. Back home on Planet Vegeta, there typically wasn't any feelings between mates. They mated for reproduction purposes and that was it. Damn, he was getting in over his head, WAY in over his head for that matter. With these feelings clouding his judgement over the situation, he had once again remembered that this could very well be the last time he would see her, or Sprocket or anybody that he could call a friend again. As long as Athren had been breathing he assumed Emer wouldn't just go blow up the planet. Where would the fun in that be? Taking all of that into consideration Athren figured he could slow down his rush a little bit and try to make this time with her more enjoyable, for the both of him. Of course, in his case that wouldn't be an easy feat but he'd try to enjoy every single second with her that he wasn't in pain.
With the request made to her by the young, ocean eyed saiyan warrior it was completely understandable that she had acted the way she did, so hesitant. It had finally been starting to sink into Athren's very stern, stubborn and thick skull that this girl MAY have actually cared about him more than he had originally thought. Though, before she finally grabbed it she had seemed to repeat his question. His answer would have came out quite sweetly. "Yes Kaiyo, I need you to grab it. Don't worry about hurting me though, I need to face this and overcome it. Once I do that then I'll be nearly immune to the weakness of my tail. It's completely natural for a saiyan to do this. Usually it's at a much young age though." Pausing for a brief moment it was obvious that his rush had almost been reduced to nothing. With her around, nothing else had mattered. The hell did it mean though? Bringing his right hand up he scratched his head lightly and ruffled his hair around lightly. Hell, Now adjusting to the slower pace Athren couldn't help but get a smile on his face just from looking at the woman. She really did make him a better, happier person. Didn't she? Though, he still had more to say and didn't want to make the pause an awkward long. "And I'm going to make a simple request. I'm not going to tell you because you'll just ignore it. I'm going to ask you to please stay out of this one. It's over your head Kai. I know you're a great fighter.. but this guy.. He's much more than just a great fighter. You'll get hurt and I really can't see that, I think .. I'd lose it." Well, there it was. Yet another little hint to the feelings he had hidden deep down inside him. Though, it wasn't much. It was probably more than an obvious hint. Regardless of that though, it was just about time to prepare himself for the pain he was about to receive.
With a fair warning given to him, Athren's muscles had already tightened up as he was expecting the worst. He couldn't help himself as he knew exactly what this would do to him. He had been there before, plenty of times back home and it was probably the worst pain he could have ever felt in his life and yet here he was, ready to face it. Hell, he couldn't even keep his eyes open for what was to come. His eyes closed firmly, the young male had a serious look on his face. Though still full of confidence. He was ready to overcome this saiyan flaw. It was really only a matter of determination or time. Either way, he'd come out of this successful.
It was then he had felt her warm hands grip the fur of his gray tail. For the first second nothing had happened. He didn't feel an ounce of pain. It was then when she had squeezed his tail tightly that he didn't stand a chance against the crippling feeling it was about to bring him or the pain for that matter, his eyes had opened wide from this as well. It had started from his lower back where his tail had been attached. From there it had spread like a wildfire through all of his muscles. In a matter of short seconds, his whole body was in complete pain. It was like he couldn't move his body either, his muscles were limp and useless. At this time his knee's had given out and he feel FLAT onto the floor. With the collision of saiyan and floor came a loud thud. "Oww." He mumbled lightly, though loud enough for her to hear it. Trying to muster up the strength to do so, Athren slowly managed to get to his knee's and his palms, Which was an INCREDIBLE feat. Of course, it had helped that the tail was a tool for his bullies back on Vegeta so he was slightly used to it. Though not flawless, he had quite the way to go before mastering this.

Kaiyo winced as Athren hit the floor with a thud, a quiet ‘oww’ escaping him as pain wracked his entire body. She may not have been able to feel it herself, but she could tell that her grip on his tail was putting him through hell. Dammit, she really didn’t want to do this. However, the redhead didn’t loosen her fingers in the slightest. What else was supposed to do? As much as she wanted to let go, that would mean that not only would Athren keep such a weakness in the upcoming fight and allow the possibility of that ‘Emer’ person to take advantage of it. Not only that, but it would mean that she would have caused him this much pain for nothing. As much as it sucked, Kaiyo knew that she had no choice but to keep going.
The teenager tried to find other things to think about while still keeping a sharp ear out for signal. The first thing that popped up was Athren’s request for her to stay out of fight. That was something that wasn’t going to fly with her. Really, he should have known better than that by now. Aside from patching up the occasional battle wound, fighting was one of the few things she honestly believed that she did well at. The upcoming fight that Athren was to be involved in sounded huge. He seriously just wanted her to sit on the sidelines? Most girls might have thought it was sweet that someone was looking out for them like that. This wasn’t quite the case for Kaiyo. What, so it was fine for him to go out and risk his hide, but it wasn’t okay for her? That was bulls***! In any other circumstances the teenager would have been snarling at him, but he was already in enough pain as it was. At the very least, it could wait until after they were done.
Kaiyo watched as Athren slowly climbed to his knees, supporting his weight with his palms. Was that good enough? No, he looked like he was still in quite a bit of pain. Plus, he hadn’t actually told her to let go yet. This was taking forever! Okay, maybe it hadn’t been that long, but it sure as hell felt like it! The guy didn’t exactly say how long it would take to overcome something like this either. Hopefully it would take an hour or two. Kaiyo was finding it difficult to convince herself not to let go just for the short time she had been squeezing. ”Hey... Erm... How you holdin’ up? Do I need to let go yet?“ she asked, uncertainty prevalent in her voice.
Sure, of all the things he might have needed reminding of, giving the signal for her to stop causing him immense pain probably wasn’t anywhere near one of them. She couldn’t help it though; she was seriously starting to get antsy. Finding something to try to keep her mind off of it wasn’t helping either. The only thing she could think of was the fact that Athren didn’t want her in the fight he was going into, and that was just going to end up pissing her off.
