Habana grinned to herself, it had been quite a while since she’d been on the Imperator but it remained an impressive sight both inside and outside, perhaps it was a bit of bias but the only ship she could think of that really compared was her own the Zenith, the fact that the Zenith took quite a lot of inspiration from the Imperator probably helped that quite a bit as well.
“Habana?” A familiar voice chimed in interrupting her thoughts and briefly surprising Habana. “Oh hey Gin, I was just about to give you a call to give you the good news. Things have been uh… smoothed over is probably a STRONG term for what happened but the Empire’s fine for now” Habana said with a grin, it was still a bit surreal that she had actually made it out of that debacle mostly unharmed.
“We’re enroute to Namek to deal with Xylo finally so I want you to get the Zenith fired up again and start making your way there to meet up with us” Habana continued andwhere usually Gin would give a prompt ‘on it!’ sort of response there was a strange pause.
“I’ll get on that immediately, but uh.. You might want to head somewhere durable for a bit. I have a few updates for you” Gin siad and between his tone and what he’d said Habana knew IMMEDIATELY that something particularly bad had happened. Gin had long since learned not to deliver bad news while Habana was just out in the open, if it pushed her too far there tended to be more than a little collateral damage.
“Zucc’s got a Gravity Chamber so I’ll head there” Habana said with a sigh rolling her shoulders and bolting through the ship, she’d had a few chances to use Zucc’s gravity chamber so finding it was easy enough. “Alright Gin, what's the damage” Habana questioned closing her eyes as the chamber door shut behind her.
“It seems that between our trip back to Vegeta and your encounter with Vi-Poi Xylo launched several attacks to take Yardrat, Beppa, and the Brenchian Gemini. The results have been pretty bad on our end, none of our forces were quite enough to push them back. We’ve lost quite a lot of the forces stationed on those worlds but in particular Beppa featured the loss of a couple of our stronger fighters, the Hoffersons, Brassica, and Purika”
Habana was a bit stunned by the news, granted a lot of the SSE’s strongest forces had been tied up with getting back to Vegeta and dealing with Poi but for Xylo to take ALL of those planets so quickly was as astounding as it was infuriating.
Habana was quite capable of keeping her temper in check at the prospect of just losing control of the planets, it was unfortunate certainly and infuriating to lose ANY forces and to lose what mount of integration into the Empire that had been achieved, particularly with Beppa.
What Habana could not remain calm through was the list of major deaths that Gin had given, she didn’t know the Hoffersons particularly well BUT she greatly respected the family for how active they had been in the battles against Xylo, the youngest of them, in particular, had gone FAR beyond what someone of his power would be expected to do, actively entering a battle involving the Mazoku Lord himself and leading the take over of the Gemini.
Brassica’s death was FAR more impactful and infuriating to Habana as it was not simply someone Habana knew of and respected for there work, Brassica was a friend. It was that news that broke Habana’s control and unleashed her super saiyan power causing the chamber to shudder briefly with her anger.
Purika’s death was unfortunate in a different way, it was technically unfortunate in that it was the loss of an admittedly powerful warrior. More, however, it was unfortunate because he’d managed to escape punishment for his actions on Yardrat.
The only thing that kept Habana from going entirely out of control in her anger was the knowledge that death was not necessarily an end, Brassica was not the strongest in the universe but Habana held hope that the self-proclaimed goddess would make her way back.
