Pathetic! That was all she ever was: pathetic! For years, she'd accepted the fact and gone through her life happy to only be one of many that made up the Empire's military might. However, things had changed. She'd broken past her wall, and even made a name for herself as a ranking Officer. She had been on Beppa. She had killed a ranking Mazoku agent. Her Oozaru could smash mountains and boil oceans away, but what did that mean without a moon? What did she have to show for all her effort?
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
Boarding the traitorous Zucceta's ship had been difficult. Those few steps onto the bridge had made her skin crawl, and if it hadn't been for her Queen's command, she might've put everything she'd had into making sure the former monarch couldn't leave the planet before answering for abandoning their people. Ships were fragile, after all.
That wasn't the source of her anger, though. As the young Officer took out her aggression on a simple training dummy she'd found in a large, empty room of the excessively gargantuan craft, the battle of only an hour earlier played over and over again in her mind. The leader of Earth had been much too strong, of course, but she hadn't even been able to defeat a damned slave! The tailless race traitor had taken pity on her! In the end, all that she could claim was taking her opponent's forgotten weapon!
Ginge yelled at the top of her lungs as her fist collided with the dummy once more, sending it flying across the room. With a burst of speed, she appeared in its path, and stopped its momentum with another blow. With a great flurry of fast punches, she punished the nonliving thing for trying to flee from her, then kicked it across the room again. This time, she appeared above it, landing atop the tool of cloth and steel and smashing it into the hard floor. With both hands, she slammed a hammer of her two fists into its body, caving in the structure like paper mache. After mounting the ruined dummy, she roared again and unleashed all of her aggression and anger and self-loathing on it, every blow filling the air of the room and the hallways outside with thunderous smacks.

Pin walked the corridors of Zucceta's ship with a mix of reverence and reticence. There had been a time when he'd looked to the woman as a symbol of the Empire's might, a time when she was unquestionably his Queen. He'd have followed her to hell. Now, however, that image was cast in a new light. She'd willingly stepped down, left the Empire behind. This might have been easily reconciled for Pin, had she not chosen to take up residence not on Vegeta or somewhere in Saiyan Space, but on Earth of all place. She'd stepped down, left the Empire, and moved to an opposing planet. Even if the two worlds were not actively at war, it was a clear sign that her loyalties were no longer what they once were. Pin couldn't help but wonder if they'd ever been.
Still, Pin couldn't help but marvel at the size and scope of this ship, once the flagship of the Empire itself. He'd hoped to one day own a ship like this for the White List, but that seemed as if it were another lifetime. A wasted lifetime. So he tried to focus on learning the layout of the place - the doors, the hatches, the resources. He didn't want to risk getting into a tight spot and not knowing where the hell anything was. Behind him stalked Suz, the unusual insectoid saiba hound, silently shadowing him save for the hollow clicking of her claws against the metal floor.
He raised an eyebrow when he heard the sounds of combat. Surely a fight hadn't ALREADY broken out before they could even take off. No, he realized a moment later that this wasn't a battle, but impassioned training. He followed the sounds, curious to see who it was. He had a guess, but wanted to be sure.
He stepped into the training hall as Ginge mounted the training dummy and started to go absolutely ape-shit bonkers on it. As she screamed, letting out the rage and frustration and pain that she must no doubt be feeling after the events of the day, he couldn't help but smile. If anyone he'd ever met had been a Saiyan, this young woman was it. Even Zoraba, the hairy brute, wasn't as archetypically a Saiyan warrior as Ginge. Pin began to clap, allowing his slow applause to announce his presence. Suz hung back behind him, still halfway in the hall, using his body to block Ginge's line of sight. Suz rarely came out of that hunter's mindset, and staying hidden from a sudden unknown person was always her first instinct.
"I think you've won," Pin said, putting his hands on his hips. "At the very least you've cost Zuccetta the price of a new training dummy, so that's a small victory right there." ___________________________________________________

Though her hate-filled barrage against the prone training tool had lasted only seconds, by the time she'd stopped, the Saiyan woman was breathing hard through her mouth. Her two fists shook with the rage she hadn't managed to vent as of yet, and she growled through painfully clenched teeth. For a moment, she hadn't heard the metallic clapping of her newly arrived comrade, but his voice reached her and helped to pull the woman back to some semblance of sane.
Ginge's dark eyes turned to the approaching male for a moment, before she turned her attention back to the dummy for one, final blow that caved in its head with an excessively loud crack. Though not quite satisfied, she sighed a small, growling noise and stood from the completely ruined tool. One hand, partially covered by her weighted, black wrist guard, swept the unkempt and unruly hair from her brow. Her wounds had stopped bleeding since they'd boarded the ship, but the many cuts on her arms only accentuated the slight swelling in one eye. Her armor had taken the worst of it, though, and was sitting against the wall beside the door, leaving her in only the black spandex she usually wore underneath the shell.
"It doesn't feel like it," she muttered as her tail unwound itself from around her waist. With a sudden, forceful kick, she sent what remained of the dummy flying into the wall with another unnecessary bang. It took a few seconds, but she eventually appeared to calm down again, and turned to address her visitor.
"I-I'm sorry, sir. This is a civilian craft. I should... I should be better than this." Unable to look her superior in the eye, she forced her gaze to the floor just beside his feet. Her hands still wrung themselves, trying desperately to convince her to let them vent the anger that still boiled beneath her breast. It took her a few moments to realize she'd been growling in her throat again, and imagining the red of her own armor as belonging to...
Never mind.
"I," she began before the words failed her just at the tip of her tongue. After clearing her throat, she peeled her eyes away from the armor to focus on the purple of the male's mask. "C-Can I help you with something?"

Pin couldn't help but chuckle as Ginge apologized to him for her conduct on what she'd called a civilian vessel. Sure, she needed to calm down, to collect herself, but all things considered she could be doing a much worse job of it. Pin shook his head.
"I don't think Zucceta's been a civilian for quite some time. No need to apologize - not to me or to anyone. And you can cool it with the 'sir' shit, just call me Pin. I keep it profesh out in the field but after what we just went through, I think we can keep it casual."
He felt for the girl. That frustration, eating away at her belly, threatening to tear her apart from the inside out? It was real. He'd felt it himself before, once upon a time. He believed that every warrior felt it when in the presence of other, stronger warriors, but that Saiyans also felt it much more acutely than others. As a species they'd come a long way, but certain toxic parts of their culture still persisted, and when a Saiyan dedicated themselves to the life of a fighter, always being surrounded by stronger fighters could get downright demeaning.
"I was about to ask you the same thing. You look like you're about to come out of your damn skin. I know it probably doesn't feel that way, but you did good out there. You showed your pride and didn't shy away. That's important."

She didn't know what to say. He was right, of course. He was right in every conceivable way. She'd done... She'd done exactly what she'd always done. She had lived up to her Saiyan blood and pride, and never backed down for a single moment. She had been prepared to fight, to lose, and even to die for her people.
So, why did she feel so angry this time?
"I... I know..." Ginge muttered the empty words without any heart. Again, she ran her fingers through her hair, and sighed long and hard. All of her anger had left her for the time being, but it would be back. It always was. "I just," she continued, as her hands fell to her sides and her tail swayed uncomfortably behind her. "I feel so useless. I could bench press this ship, for fuck's sake! I can wipe all life from a planet single handedly, and still...
"And still, I hardly matter. When you're all Super Saiyans, and our Queen is something even greater, what do I even matter?" The soldier's voice wavered with hints of her returning fury. A gut-wrenching pit of hatred was building up inside again, and her body tensed visibly as she tried to find the right words. The air around her shivered with the sudden spike of power coming from her body, and the faintest of burgundy aura coated her skin. Her tail twitched with an unconscious need to release all of the building tension.
"I-I can't even kill one fucking deserter!" Finally, the quickly-constructed levee had broken, and her emotions came pouring forth again. Her aura darkened and filled the air around her, kicking up a strong gust of wind that blew out of the room and into the hallway. Her hands balled into fists so tight that she thought she might break the skin. "A s-slave mocked me! That... That Earthling took pity on me, her enemy!" For a moment, it was all she could see was red. The red of her armor. The red of blood. The red of fire that should've engulfed this entire damned ship!
With a growl again exuding from deep in her throat, Ginge swallowed to wash down the lump of rage. She fell quiet for a moment, until her eyes came to the male's face again. Talking wasn't getting her anywhere, she thought to herself. There was only ever one thing that'd made her feel better, and they had the better part of a day, at best, before their arrival on Namek would give that to her naturally.
"I need a favor." She spoke calmly, as though she had either gone full circle again or was just barely containing her rage underneath a veil of self-control.

Pin let Ginge talk, not interrupting. She needed to get this off her chest, to work out these feelings. They were valid, they were real. They were chains. Pin had struggled with the same chains for a long time. Hell, he still felt their weight some days. In the end, they'd made him stronger. They would do the same for Ginge. Once she seemed to compose herself, she asked him for a favor. He reached up and removed his helmet, placing it on the floor beside him.
"There is value in even the weakest of ground troopers. There are more threats out there than Xylo himself. But you know this. You just don't like the way it sounds."
He folded his arms, looking Ginge in the eye.
"What's the favor? I don't have a ton of spare cash, and I don't know if we have time for any real errands." His voice was thick with sarcasm. He knew it wasn't going to be something as petty as that. Hell, he had a feeling he knew what she would ask him, and he already knew exactly what his answer would be. But she needed to be direct with him. She needed to flex that very specific muscle that would let her speak freely amongst those she might consider her superiors - either in power or rank - even if it was for personal reasons.

Honestly, she couldn't help herself. For all of her boiling rage and lashing out, she couldn't stop the single chuckle that escaped. For the briefest of moments, she smiled at his joke, before her show of something other than anger died just as quickly. Still, a small hint of a smirk remained in one corner of her mouth as she explained her request.
"Nothing like that." Ginge reined in her out of control aura, and the burgundy coat around herself died with the buffeting winds. Her tail still twitched every second or two, but she did her best to hold it still while she placed one hand on her hip. It was the only thing that got them to stop wringing themselves, it seemed.
"I... Well," She glanced back at the ruined training dummy one more time. There wasn't a doubt in her mind that it wouldn't be any further use to anyone, besides as scrap. Bringing her gaze back to Pin, "I need a training partner. No... I need a fight, not a training session." As soon as she'd finished speaking, she took her hand off of her hip and crossed her arms, like some mirror of her comrade. She couldn't get comfortable. "Comfortable" wasn't standing around and doing nothing. She needed release, on so many levels.
"I won't get any stronger on my own."

Pin folded his arms and smiled openly at Ginge's request. She was certainly something else - frustrated from throwing herself against brick walls, only to ask to throw herself against another. On any other planet, in any other society, this would be considered madness. Only on Vegeta would this be the romantic ideal. Still, Pin had to wonder just how much merit the idea had. Sure, he'd trained with Habana in a similar manner when he'd first started to get serious, but ultimately it was his battled with opponents that were relatively on his own level that had taught him the most. His fights with Habana were mostly just a reminder of how far he had to go. To fight Ginge right now might give her that perspective, but Pin was fairly certain that she had an embarrassment of riches in that regard.
Thankfully, Pin had something Habana hadn't had when they'd trained together.
"You want a fight? That's good. But it's better if you fight someone you can potentially beat. And it's better if you fight something hungry."
With that, Pin gave a high pitched whistle, followed by three clicks of his tongue against his cheek. From behind him bounded Suz, chitinous claws clacking against the floor and carapace shining in the light. She gave a deep, rattling sort of growl in Ginge's direction before lunging at the Saiyan female, jaws wide open for a vicious bite.
"Ginge, meet Suz. Suz, meet Ginge."

For just a moment, her heart had sank. Pin was turning her down, and she would not have the fight she'd so sorely needed. She would have to track down another training dummy to keep herself busy until they'd arrived on Namek, or something. However, he didn't stop there, and he mentioned an opponent that she had a chance of beating. He mentioned how it was hungry. She was confused at first, at least, until the large, chitinous beast strode into the room, its claws clacking ominously against the metal floor.
"Wha-" The Saiyan woman tried to ask what sort of creature this was, but was all too late as it growled and leapt at her with surprising speed. She hadn't recognized it as a beast of Vegeta, nor from any of the planets she'd fought on during her career. In some odd way, it reminded her of a saibaman, but only by so much.
Either way, there was little time for thought. Slowed as it was by her weighted gear, her body reacted in the very way it'd been trained to: by fighting back. She didn't guard, and she didn't attempt to avoid the very open lunge. Instead, instinct drove the warrior's leg, bringing her boot to meet with the side of the creature's head and send it flying away from her. She wasn't certain of how much she could hurt the beast with so little build up, but that hadn't been the point, at all.
When she'd bought herself a moment to breathe, Ginge's mouth pulled itself taut in a wide grin.
"What the hell, Pin!?" She shouted with a hint of amused laughter as she brought her guard up and squared herself against the creature. Opposed to the rage and melancholy of moments earlier, adrenaline was coaxing the woman back into her warrior's mentality none-too-gently. Above all else, her tail showed her building need to fight by writhing in anticipation behind her. "Where'd you find this thing?"

Pin laughed as Ginge fought back against Suz's lunge, sending the big bug-dog tumbling back across the floor. Thankfully, Suz's thick carapace had mitigated Ginge's blow - which hadn't been charged with any of her true power, but had rather just been a reflex - almost entirely. Suz clicked her mandibles as she got back to her feet, shuddering slightly with what seemed to be excitement.
"I found her egg under a rock in the Wastes! And I took it! I don't know why!"
Pin whistled, then clicked his tongue a couple more times. Suz leapt back into action, swiping all six of her claws at Ginge and snapping her jaws. Her barrage of attacks were feral and vicious, focused on one thing and one thing only - tearing at Ginge's soft and fleshy bits. Pin took a few steps back and leaned against the wall, content to watch things unfold. He planned to step in if Ginge got too serious - he didn't want a smooshed bug, after all - and he would call off Suz if Ginge got too badly injured. Still, he was fairly certain that this would be an interesting fight between relatively evenly matched opponents, and was excited to see what would happen since he was equally invested in Ginge and Suz's individual development. _______________________________ Suz is pressing the attack with some basic melee moves!

The wastes? So, it was native to Vegeta, the woman thought in bewilderment. As the creature stood and readied itself to pounce once more, she pushed the thought aside, as unimportant as it was. Knowing such things wouldn't do her any good, anyways. It was only an idle fancy, a fleeting bit of amusement.
Ginge mirrored the bug's excitement with her own actions. Her shoulders rolled in preparation for another attack, and she crouched slightly to make herself smaller. The only thing that wasn't carefully practiced was her tail, as it wriggled in the air behind her and tried to give voice to its readiness. Then, her comrade clicked his tongue again, and she used the cue to charge the few feet between herself and the creature.
In the heat of battle, for lack of a better word, she nearly forgot the male's presence in the room. With her dark eyes alight with newfound glee, she charged directly into the creature's waiting claws and mandibles. Her speed carried her through the barrage with less damage than she'd have taken merely defending, and with many of her cuts reopened and oozing blood over her shoulders and arms, she brought her knee up into the hungrily snapping jaws that'd come within inches of her much softer midsection. She hoped to raise the creature further off the floor to make her response all the more effective.
With little regard that her opponent wasn't truly her enemy, she mimicked its barrage of slashing claws with her own crushing fists. A seconds-long flurry of quick and powerful blows aimed for the creature's joints and body, and sought to drive it back against the wall where it wouldn't be able to flee.

Pin watched closely as Ginge threw herself into Suz without hesitation. He was impressed, as the strange creature usually got some nervous reactions, but then again Ginge didn't have the same mindset as your average person. She had less regard for her own safety. This was a good thing. It made her fearless, which would possibly get her killed, but would just as likely elevate her to great power. He couldn't wait to see which.
Suz, however, also had strong combat instincts, honed by Pin's training and instruction. He'd taught her to hunt, and to help him hunt. And the first lesson a hunter learns is to corner their prey whenever possible. The second lesson? Don't get fucking cornered. As Suz was pushed back by Ginge's valiant advance, she scuttled to the left, strafing around Ginge gradually to avoid being pressed against a wall. She wanted nothing to do with being stuck between a rock and a hard place, and while she would snap back with her jaws on occasion, she quickly learned that Ginge was no easy prey.
A frankly horrific gurgling sound came up from within Suz's gullet, echoing through the inside of her chitinous mouth. She took a big leap backwards from Ginge. Once landed, she began to heave once, twice, three times. The fourth time, a large gob of bright green-yellow mucous launched from within her mouth directly aimed at Ginge. The only hint at its true nature was the unnerving hiss that came off of it as it flew through the air. _________________________________ Suz has used Acid Spit - [N1] - Suz spits a ball of acidic mucous at an opponent. The creature was smarter than she'd assumed. As her unrelenting assault pushed it back, the bug had swung out into a circle to keep the open room behind itself, and it'd only lunged back at her with its teeth when she'd gotten too close. If it were humanoid, she'd have thought it possessed some fighting skill and spirit. However, the bug as it was only played on her emotional strings, pulling and tugging at her anger and frustration.
Ginge's wide smile shrunk and concealed itself behind a wildly amused smirk. The creature had been trained very well, and already, the liveliness of her foe was feeding the fire in her belly. However, her outward glee disappeared when it retreated further still and began to make a sound that reminded her of a soldier who'd been shot through the throat. Like some horrific cat, it wretched once... twice... thrice... After the fourth time, a sickening ball of ick was spit out in her direction.
Instinct and rational thought were of shared minds now. Through eyes accustomed to much greater speeds, she watched the glob sail through the air on its path to her, sizzling menacingly as it neared. With the subtlest of motions, the Saiyan woman moved quick enough that the projectile passed through a mirage of light that had yet to keep up, before it hit the ground with an exceptionally foreboding hiss. If the mere thought of being covered in the creature's spittle was enough to make her dodge, the sight of it eating through the steel of the ship was enough to convince her to be ever more aware of that fact.
"Ughck." She commented on the unconventional attack in her own way before squaring herself again. In the split moment before she'd charged again, she smiled anew from behind her raised fists. The creature wasn't only fast, but it had venom, of sorts. She was coming to understand why Pin kept it as a... pet.
However, time wasted on such things wasn't time spent fighting. As the woman launched herself from the floor and across the room, she reeled back with one fist. The blow would be a heavy one, meant to break through whatever defenses the creature could muster and get herself inside its reach again. Once there, she could resume her swift assault and wear it down.

Suz was caught off guard by Ginge's speed. Pin had never put her up against an opponent with anything like the Afterimage technique, so she simply wasn't expecting it. When he acid missed, Suz was so focused on trying to figured out why that Ginge's heavy blow landed without issue. A dull cracking sound filled the room, and for a moment Pin thought Suz might have been really badly hurt. However, when the saiba hound turned to face Ginge and immediately jumped back into battle, he relaxed. Bugs were tough like that.
Suz met Ginge's new flurry of rapid attacks with a flurry of her own claws. She ducked and weaved to the best of her ability, but took a few hits here and there. Ultimately, however, Suz was trying to shepherd Ginge a little bit, moving her as far from the exit to the room as Ginge would allow. Eventually, growing frustrated, Suz decided enough was enough and simply attempted to snap her jaws down heavily on Ginge's leg.

Shortly after her barrage had begun anew, the bug had decided to fight back with its own. Large, blade-like claws narrowly missed her vitals, nicking and slicing shallow depths into her skin and muscle as she stayed unrelenting in her attack. As the seconds passed, the two traded who would give up ground, but it was the Saiyan who found herself being pushed back into the center of the room by her slightly stronger and faster opponent.
Ginge was enjoying the fight more with every second, and every wound she'd sustained. The bitter emptiness that'd been left in her on Vegeta was quickly being burned away, replaced by the fire in her belly that only fed on her pain. Animalistic anger from being injured excited the Saiyan woman's blood, and in turn, her attacks grew more wild and vicious. Again and again, she felt the thing's carapace underneath her fist, and the not-so-subtle cracking of her blows landing was like the sweetest of treats.
However, this was still a fight, even if a staged one. Unused to fighting with opponents who were smaller than even herself, the young officer failed to recognize the bite that sank painfully into her lower thigh. With equal parts agony and shock, she cried out in a shaking voice, and her fist came down on the creature's head in an attempt to force it to release her. Then, something horrible and brutal clicked in her mind, and she reached for the nearest set of arms.
While doing her best to hold the creature still, Ginge pooled energy quickly into her gaping mouth. Her voice, drawing power up from her core with a mighty yell, was quickly drowned out by the roar of the coalescing ball of energy, and her tail snapped at the air behind her angrily. A wide, pale light bathed the creature and a portion of the room along with it, where the blast then washed over everything the light had touched.
