”Our people have an enemy to strive to defeat.”
Those words continued to play over in her head. From the Super Saiyan Queen herself, the Majin was counted among the Saiyan people. Since her arrival and welcome to the Empire, she always felt as if she was part of it, but never fully accepted. With a people so proud of their genetics, could an alien truly ever be one of them?
Being promoted to Commander made her want to believe she finally earned her place, but still there were elites who looked at with what was almost disgust. On a personal level she believed it didn’t get to her. Skilled in blocking out environmental and emotional stimuli, she was always able to focus on what she was supposed to do. However, to hear the most powerful and highest ranking member of the Empire show her acceptance struck deeper than she could have imagined. Regardless of what others thought or said, she did have a home here. A home as the Commander of the Saiyan military and second in power only to the Queen.
This in mind, Shemha realized that her ability to close out those around her beyond their immediate use, while effective in protecting herself, also hindered her ability to fit with the soldiers she served. There were several she trained and spoke with that showed her respect and represented the buds of relationships, but unless she reached out that number was destined to remain small.
Today was one of the first in her endeavors to further integrate herself with the Vegetian people, her people. Number one on her list was a warrior of no outstanding power level, but in name one known to many. Perhaps warrior wasn’t the correct term, it was more like warriors as the Hofferson family possessed quite a few.
The youngest, as far as she knew anyway, was the very soldier that survived an encounter with Xylo and his demonic monster. Capper’s report was vital in the Empire’s understanding of what this magical creature that served the Mazoku lord was capable of. With war looming on the horizon, it was only a matter of time until they confronted both once again.
On foot, she made her way through the Radittsu district. Informed that the family lived here her senses tracked their signatures. A number of them were lumped together, a good bet they were within their family home. With a turn down another street she strolled until she was confident she stood before their residence. Her goal here, was to get to know them and better understand those who served alongside her.
Stepping up her right hand rose to gently rap on the door.
Knock. Knock. Knock.

"Hey, Courgi! Courgi!" Chire's voice would ring. Capper and Collard were busy unpacking their things, and Chire was quick to reunite with a certain someone who was left behind on Vegeta to look after their home while they were on Earth. Courgi, the saiyan android that was Collard's father and Capper's grandfather raised his head off of the picnic table placed outside of the Hofferson Residence. They were back this early? "What do you want, kid?" The android questioned in his usual tone, with no clear emotion. Maybe it was a robot thing, Chire pondered. But, something still felt... off in his tone.
"Oh, come on. You know I ain't a kid anymore." The recently revived mother spoke with half-closed eyes and a frown, crossing her arms. Corugi rolled his eyes with a sigh, his head lolling backwards. "Fine. What do you want, punk?" The grandfather spoke with narrowed eyes and clear annoyance while a smirk creeped across his daughter-in-law's face.
"...A step in the right direction." Chire spoke with a roll of her shoulders, sitting next to her tutor, hands clasped together. Luckily they already explained to the emotionless bot everything that happened on Earth, so he wasn't too shocked at Chire's sudden return to life. "Well, I just wanted to thank you for our last spar! It was a blast." The mother of Capper spoke with a smile. It had been a few months since they fought, but Chire never got the chance to thank Courgi, having died only days later. "Ya really impressed me, big guy." She spoke, giving the android a gentle punch to his shoulder. Courgi's dullard expression never once shifted though, save for a harsh glare towards the female.
"You beat me in two minutes."
"Well... Yeah." "It's just--" Chire began, raising her arms up. "I just meant that I, well, uh..." She tried to articulate, resulting in a sigh from her aging teacher, who turned his head away from the Super Saiyan. "Listen." Chire finally spoke, breathing in while her thumbs twiddled. Looking to the ground, a smile would slowly form across her face while she spoke. "I've been to Earth, Namek, and many more planets in my days." "And I gotta say, you are the most powerful android I've ever encountered."
"..." Courgi remained silent, turning back to Chire with some shock and confusion. "And... I was sorta hoping you would take Capper's offer to upgrade you." The female concluded, closing her eyes. With a quick flex of her arm, she'd smile wide and speak again. "And then we could train together as REAL equals again if 'ya want, old timer!" Chire proclaimed with clear excitement in her vivid tone before her expression calmed again.
"Just... think about it. Okay? I'm gonna go help the guys unpack now." Chire stood up, trotting away and leaving the old saiyan android with his thoughts. Courgi looked down to his metallic hands, clenching them. Ever since he was mechanized, his power was... lacking. He was no match for a Super Saiyan like Chire, let alone his own son, Collard... Closing his eyes tight for a moment, the droid would stand back up, walking into the residence of the Hoffersons.
Hours later after unpacking, Chire and Collard would have quickly hit the hay, tucking themselves into their bunk beds to nap. Earth and Vegeta ran on different times it was hard to adjust to, and unpacking winded the two parents. Capper sat in the kitchen of their home, hunched over at the table, vigorously playing the newest installment of Majin Bros on his Gamebit XL.
"Capper?" A familiar voice pierced the air, causing the son of Chire and Collard to raise his head, pausing his game. Courgi stood in the doorway, grasping the frame with one of his hands. "Oh, hey gramps!" Capper spoke in a chipper tone, waving down the android as he approached. "What brings yo--"
"I'd like to take up your offer, kid." Courgi got straight to the point, causing Capper's expression to briefly sink. "..." He did call his old man and offer to upgrade him while they were on the way back to Vegeta, but Capper never expected him to agree. "EEEEEEE" Capper found himself sqeaking while a wide grin creeped across his face. The boy's sparkling eyes quickly shut when the robotic grandfather shoved his hand over his mouth, shushing the little technician.
"Ghk-- be quiet! You'll wake your parents!" The android proclaimed with hushed urgency. "Oh!! Right, right!" Capper remembered. Perhaps Courgi wanted to surprise his mother and father? Or maybe he just didn't want them to know he was taking this route of attaining strength rather than training? Capper wasn't sure, but he wouldn't bug his grandfather about it.
Capper quickly got to work. He pulled all of his tools out of the room, beginning work on Courgi's systems in the kitchen. The android laid on his stomach on the table, which Capper had managed to pull out and make into a makeshift workbench. Wearing his trusty wielding mask with a torch in hand, Capper would begin to plaster new, enhanced fiber metals onto Courgi's right arm, being careful not to touch the delicate wiring located a few layers below. Many wires were exposed on Courgi now that all of his navy blue armor pieces were removed- a few hung out of his neck and eyes, while gears clicked and churned on his exposed systems. Capper grimaced at the sight of some of his organic, rotting organs and skin beneath everything. Still, the boy continued at work...
That was until a knocking sound interrupted his work. "...Hm?" Courgi grunted, raising his head. Despite the static in his vision from having one of his robotic eyes removed to be upgraded, and the lack of some of his hearing systems, the android was sure he heard a knock. "Yo-You didn't tell me you had g-guests planned." He spoke, a faint, glitching echo to his otherwise blunt tone. Capper raised his wielding mask off his face, setting down a torch when panic sank in. Who could that even be? "I-I wasn't! I don't know who that could be."
"Just... Let me see who it is real quick." Capper sighed, stepping away from Courgi's exposed systems. The weakened android raised his unprotected torso off the table somewhat, gears groaning and wires bending with strain. It was a good thing Capper temporarily disabled his pain sensors.
Capper walked to the door, quickly undoing the lock and opening it wide. A few oil stains and burns were visible on his tiny body, as a result from a few excess sparks and oil leaks that haphazardly occurred while he was working on upgrading his grandfather's battle capabilities. Nonetheless, the boy spoke to his visitor with tired, closed eyes. "Look, I'm REALLY busy right now, so if we could make this quick and painless, that would be--"
Courgi's glitched throat-clearing made Capper open his tired eyes. "C-COMMANDER SHEMHA?!" Capper spoke with sudden, terrified realization! He didn't just disrespect the COMMANDER of the solar empire, did he?! The bare android behind Capper raised his form off of the table, narrowing his single, robotic eye at the commander curiously. This certainly wasn't an everyday occurrence.
"Wh-what are YOU doing here...? I, uh..." Capper stammered, glancing to and fro. Catching himself in his panic, he'd take a breath in and lean against the doorframe with his singnature smug smirk, although his new confidence in front of the Commander was just a bravado. "I mean, uh, what brings you to the Hoffersons' humble abode?" He spoke with more confidence, pointing a finger-gun at Shemha. 'Play it cool, Cap. Play it cool.'

Initially met with what she took for annoyance, Shemha’s head cocked to the side. It was getting late, but it wasn’t that late was it? Perhaps her busy schedule and lack of any real time for early nights skewed her perspective. The thought already in her head to apologize for bothering him at his residence, she instead hid the smirk that threatened to tug at her lips as the reason for his words became clear. He hadn’t initially realized who is visitor was.
Limited in friends and limited in terms of personality, that didn’t mean she was incapable of interacting with others on something beyond an official level. In fact, the few friends she did have were slowly introducing her to the interactions that came with those types of relationships. Capper and his family were not friends of hers, not like Habana and a few others, but she attempted to employ what she had learned.
”Quick and painless? Would you believe that is the way I prefer it?” She remarked with a superficial flare of her aura. The show of power passed quickly though and a small smile spread across her lips. Like with Etoru, she chose to be a little playful, a side not many got to see.
”I stopped by to talk actually. I realized that your family has done a fair amount for the Empire and I know little to nothing about you besides what is detailed in reports. Sad for someone who calls themselves Commander, don’t you think?” She asked with a minuscule shrug of her shoulders.
As she held that smile, she looked over him with ease, spotting the strange robot creature behind him. Unaware that the family possessed an android (also unaware it was his partially deconstructed grandfather), she hid her displeasure. Something about the creatures, did not sit well with her. It probably stemmed from her opinions of Vi-Poi and Carva, but she knew showing any sort of disgust towards the machine was not the best way to start this off.
If her words came across a little awkward that is because they were. This was new territory for her and she rarely spoke so casual with others, especially ones ranked below her. To any that might pass by or even to Capper’s own grandfather, the two at the door was an odd scene. Shemha, all 6 feet two inches of her standing casually with hands on her hips as she sat in the sights of the far shorter Capper’s finger guns.
