Right over Hunter’s head. For his quick wit and endless stream of one comments, the android sure wasn’t the best at picking up shots directed at him. Or perhaps he possessed the amazing ability to ignore any negative remark directed at him, that much more likely considering how he dealt with others. Regardless, Shemha said nothing more on the subject for the moment, only a slap shake of her head and a masked smile took shape in reaction. If she was going to have to deal with Hunter she was going to get the best of it.
”Oh I don’t need anything to eat at the moment, but thank you for thinking of me. However, if you wish to help I wouldn’t mind passing off chopping up the rest of these potatoes to you if you don’t mind.” Shemha stated with a motion of her hand to the dozen or so spuds still spread across the counter. She didn’t mind the work really, but she was willing to share it since he was so nice to offer.
As long as he was capable of mimicking the process she put the first starchy oval through, Shemha would put her focus back on the meat. For the moment they sat and sizzled on the hot grill top, slowly cooking to the perfection she expected from herself. With a watchful eye on the protein she shifted back to the line of questioning she directed at the android before, taking it a step further this time.
”Hunter, you mentioned how you met Marcel out in the wilds, but where did you come from before that? You were no lumber jack by your own words so what in the world were you doing out there in the first place? On top of that, why did you choose to accompany Marcel? If you say it was just to help him get women, I will let you know right now, I don’t buy it.” She said rather bluntly. Suspicious of almost everyone deep down, the green haired robot was no different. To her he seem quite the character, but one’s character could easily be a ruse.

Marcel nodded before making his way around to Shemha, taking in the aroma the food on the grill gave off with a satisfied smile. He had a thing for helping people, especially people he has grown a liking to. After getting his hands washed in a nearby sink if there is one, the hybrid dried his hands, and walked over to the counter of potatoes with his sleeves rolled up, but before he could do anything, he overheard the Majin once again addressing the posing android. He could tell from Shemha's tone that she was suspicious of Hunter, and his intentions which was something Marcel couldn't blame, but he was starting to pick up on this habit of hers. It was good to be suspicious, but not so frequent. He could just be reading her wrong however due to him not being as suspicious about people which may one day bite him on the butt. Law simply glanced at his friend before shifting his attention to the perverted android who...was still at it with the posing.
"Oh, I was in space before all that for maybe a...year, or two....I don't really keep track of those!" he'd finally stop with his posing, and make his way back to the counter before leaning over some with a grin. "Ya see, I have my own spaceship "The Lady Smasher!" he said with a wink before snickering. "The reason I call it this, you wonder? Well, my red skinned stretchy lady, it is because my ship looks like a giant p-" "She....isn't talking about your ship..." Marcel interrupted just in time, causing Hunter to pause before shrugging.
"As for your answer on why I accompany this sad sack, it IS because this poor soul needs more women in his life, and I am the bot who will make it happen!" the cyborg claimed before giving Marcel a double thumbs up. Law simply ignored it, and went back to looking at the potatoes, not wanting to hear anymore of his nonsense, raising a hand into the air as if he was about to karate chop the potatoes....showing how little he knew about preparing things in a kitchen despite seeing Shemha do one properly not too long ago. Hunter may have....somewhat of a point however. Maybe it wouldn't hurt for Marcel to find ONE female companion, but unfortunately, Hunter was right about another thing, that being.....
"I mean COME ON! It's painstakingly obvious that this guy is HORRIBLE when it comes to women." Hunter said as he looked over to Marcel who proceeded to aggressively chop a potato in half, causing two of the them to drop to the floor by mistake. Quietly, he crouched down to pick them up so he could throw them away all while Hunter shook his head before looking once again at the Majin.

”Interesting.” Was Shemha’s simply response to Hunter’s words. Her facial expression remained as nuetral as could be as she spoke before her attention looked to turn back to the food. In part it was, her eyes on the meet as she flipped the burger and slide the filet to the side slightly. Internally though, her mind was digesting farm more than the sizzle of the proteins.
In space for a year or two… Shemha was naturally suspicious of others, it was ingrained into her nature and so far it had done her well. The green haired android that accompanied her friend carried himself as this ladies man, with his goals of catching as many women as the duo could handle. Yet, in the same answer her mentioned the years he spent in space. As far as Shemha knew, there weren’t many women who wandered the stars looking for their true love. She was quite sure there weren’t even escort businesses that operated in the darkness of space. To her it didn’t add up.
For now though she chose to leave it as it was. Marcel was her friend and Hunter looked to be no immediate threat. Pulled from her short assessment of his tale, she saw Marcel using his hand to chop the potato in half. The technique, as brutish as it was worked, but at the cost of some starch. For another moment she watched as Marcel’s hand rose again, prepared to divide another one of the dark ovals with his bare hand.
Gently, her hand reached in to clasp his by the wrist before he dropped it. With a shake of her head and a small smile, she pointed to the knife set along the potatoes, the same one she used before.
”Perhaps you should just use the knife. I know its not as fun, but its far more practical and easy to control.” Shemha suggested with a small chuckle. Her bet was, Marcel over thought the simply sue-chef task and hadn’t even noticed the short blade. Hopefully he didn’t plan a venture into the culinary business anytime soon.
