Articho landed on the outskirts of Ginger Town, his shoes clacking against the concrete road that lead into the town. He leisurely made his way into Ginger Town with his hands in his pockets and humming a little tune. It was a nice day. The sun was shining and a gentle breeze blew in between the stores and houses as the citizens buzzed about. The streets weren't overly busy, not like the cities, as Articho walked around.
He glanced at store windows as he passed them, looking half heartedly for help wanted signs. His mother had told him to try and find a job, something Articho wasn't to keen to try and find. He knew his mother was still hesistant on him fighting and putting himself into danger, even after she had sent him with Master Yamado. Making him find a job was her way of pulling him away from training and getting stronger to actually fight his father.
"You can get spending money for yourself," she had said. What a load of baloney. Articho saw it in her face that she knew good and well he didn't need spending money. He tried to argue the point with his mother, but she refused to give in and made an executive order that he would at least try. So, here he was in Ginger Town, ambling down the street, his eyes glossing over the few help wanted signs he saw and ignored. He didn't want a job. Even now, he felt the precious hours slipping away as he wandered the streets of Ginger Town.
"Maybe, I'll just say I looked and there wasn't anything," he said to himself. Lying to his mother was something he loathed to do. He sighed, frustrated as his aimless walking kept on.

[Heavy Weights on.] [PL: 44482] "Gingertown." Kaula said as she glanced around the area slowly. She was in her normal clothing she wore. T-shirt, cargo pants. Weighted vest and boots. Dark green scarf. Sunglasses. She narrowed her eyes as she looked around for a few moments, "Such a bother, so much humans.." she grumbled to herself, "And isn't as good as Paprikaburg." she said with a soft sigh.
"Hell.. Don't even remember why I came here.." she muttered to herself. It's true, the Half-Saiyan had remembered she was out looking for something, but she just couldn't remember what. ".. Was probably food." she muttered. Yeah. Food. She was always looking for that. Always hungry. She wondered if any of the restaurants here had any Saiyan Discounts.. Saiyans usually ate a lot. They were like food vacuum cleaners.
"HEEEELP! HE STOLE MY PURSE!"
The scream came from behind Kaula. She didn't care. There was running behind her, but she did not care. There was suddenly hands on her. HANDS. "Out of the way, girly." the thief shouted, trying to push her. But guess what. She didn't budge. She went to growl out, "DON'T TOUCH ME WITH YOUR FILTHY HANDS!" Kaula shouted out before rearing her head back. She suddenly headbutted the man, making him slam into the wall with a solid thud, out cold. Hey. At least she saved the woman's purse apparently.

Articho dejectedly walked into a small fast food restaurant that had a help wanted sign. He stayed back near the entrance to the store and watched people as they ordered food and the clerks giving it to them. He awkwardly stood with his hands in his pockets and shifted his weight back and forth between each foot. He was hesitant to ask for an application. One of the clerks noticed and him and smiled in his direction.
"Hi! Can I help you?" she asked.
"Uh..." Articho said as he approached the counter. He paused, unsure whether to ask for an application or not. The clerk's eyes quickly grew impatient with him and he swallowed nervously. "I'll have a club sandwich," he blurted out. Great, wrong thing to ask for.
"Alrighty, it'll be out in a few minutes," she replied cheerily. He smiled weakly, mentally berating himself for the sudden moment of doubtful panic. Articho stood by waiting, his hands in his pockets. As he did, a scream tore through the store and the young hybrid looked up towards the outside. The scream was followed by another incredible loud yell. Articho became aware of the high power level that had come nearby and he had ignored while he was distracted by his thoughts. He dashed from the store, intrigued and suddenly worried for the safety of Ginger Town. He looked in the direction of the power flare and saw a young woman with a monkey tail, much like he did. A man lay on the ground near by, passed out. The woman looked angry and he cautiously approached her.
"I think you won," Articho said, his tone light and joking. He hoped to ease her before she tried to do whatever she did to the man on the ground on him.

The Saiyan girl, as short as she was, was standing over the collapsed man. She seemed to have a purse in one hand. Her chest rising and falling as she took in a few deep breaths.
The woman who screamed, however, had come over and Kaula simply went to shove the purse into her arms. Seems she scared the woman enough to make her just run off. However, when she heard a person behind her, her eyes narrowed behind those cheap-o sunglasses, turning to glance back slowly at the newcomer. Her tail flicked to the side once as she inspected him.
"No duh.." she'd say as she stared at him, "He's passed out.. Do you not know how fights go or something..?" she asked. Still just.. Staring at this new person like he was an idiot.
((Sorry for the small-ish post. x3))

Articho watched the woman retrieve her purse from the Saiyan girl in front of him. The would-be purse snatchee quickly bolted away from the scene, fearful of what she had witnessed. Clearly, seeing a short girl with a monkey tail headbutt the living daylights out of a grown man was too much for her to normally handle. Articho glanced around at the gathered crowd. He honestly wanted them to disperse. He could tell the Saiyan girl is not too keen on anyone else really interacting with her.
"No need for such hostility. It was a joke," he said. Articho ran ideas around his mind to try and find something that would calm her in some way. Her look told him that she thought he was an complete idiot. He took another glance at her tail and an idea ran through his mind, or more specifically, his tail. He willed his tail to slowly slide out from his pants leg and out from under the back of his shirt. The brown, furry appendage lifted itself up, showing itself to the Saiyan girl. The crowd began to murmur in surprise.
"I would hope I know how fights went," Articho replied. "Otherwise, this," he pointed to his tail, "wouldn't be very fitting on my back. The whole 'Saiyan' half would be kind of a waste then, yes?"
Articho grinned as he let his tail fall down behind him, "What's say we get lunch and talk for a bit? Not to often I meet others similar to me and I got a club sandwich waiting for me a few stores over."
((It's quite alright (: ))

She continued to just stare at the other male. A joke? Ugh. She hated those things, she usually couldn't stand them, usually so annoying. She hadn't laughed, though. "... It was a terrible joke." she stated, turning around to look at the downed man. She seemed to stare at him before giving him a swift kick, mainly out of spite due to being told to stop. She eventually turned back to notice the other male was talking about his tail.. And being a half Saiyan?
"You would honestly admit to having impure blood in your body?" she asked, her nose wrinkling a bit, "I bet you were low-class, too." she grumbled before pausing at the thought of lunch. She didn't mind that. Not at all, considering her stomach began to grumble a bit. ".. Fine." she'd say with a low huff. She began to walk slowly, her arms crossing again as she moved.
"You're paying, though." she said as her tail flicked to the side once before it slowly wrapped around her waist. "What's your name, anyway. Might as well tell me that, if you don't want me calling you something you probably won't like." she said as her arms uncrossed to simply stuff her hands into her pockets.

Not much of a sense of humor with this one. Articho's grin fell and stood watching her kick the fallen man in the stomach. "Seems that way," he said. He studied the man for a moment more. He looked really pitiful curled up on the ground like that. "I've been told my jokes are so bad that they can raise the dead just so they can tell me to stop," Articho continued. He gave a breathy chuckle before stopping again. "Sorry."
Articho blinked in surprise at the girl's disgust. She seemed appalled by his admittance to being a hybrid, which confused him. "I didn't know there was a problem," he said. "Impure's a little bit strong a word to describe half Saiyans, right? It's not like we're unclean." Articho found her reaction very odd. They didn't even know each other and it seemed her judgement was passed. He had hoped that his admittance would lessen her courseness towards him even a little bit, though it appeared to do nothing. Her next statement confirmed her harsh manner. He had to stop himself from rolling his eyes when she said he was probably low class. He could have made a snippy comment, but he held his tongue and shrugged instead before replying, "So what? I was raised on Earth by my human mother. What 'class' I am has never applied to me. I don't even know, to be honest. My father was gone before I was born and I never learned."
He grinned as she agreed to have lunch. "I'm inviting you. Of course I pay," he responded as he turned and walked next to her. His tail began to move back to its hiding spot in his pants leg, but he stopped it and decided to let it stay hanging down his back. It was an strange feeling for him, it being one of the first times he has walked around public without his tail hidden. Plus, he really didn't want to sit on it at lunch. "Never had a nickname before," he commented. He extended his hand towards her for a handshake. "Name's Articho. Pleasure to meet you."

The girl kept her hidden eyes on the other hybrid. She simply continued to stare at him, even as he came up with another joke about raising the dead or something..? Yeah. They were bad. Why didn't he just stop, she wondered, as her head tilted to the side. She started to frown a little bit, shaking her head a little bit.
"It was on Vegeta." the girl would say, continuing her explanation, "Some half Saiyans were even killed back there." she said as she rested her arms behind her head all nonchalantly. She let out a lazy yawn as her tail swayed lightly in the wind for a few moments. Of course, that last part wasn't EXACTLY true. Was probably very minimal. Hell, she lived and she was a hybrid.. Not that he knew she was one. "Ah. I see. Human raised. Guess that makes sense, considering." Kaula said, not really expanding on that yet.
She didn't care much about the way of lunch. She just hoped he had enough to pay for two Saiyan-appetite meals. ... Unless that human in him made him eat like a human, too. It would be rather amusing to see him have to pay for her meal when she ended up getting ten burgers or whatever this place served. She glanced towards him when he started speaking again. Now he was extending his hand..? An eyebrow went to raise at that action before she reached over to shake it lightly, "Kaula." is all she'd say in response.

Still no laughter. Clearly comedy was not his strong suit. Articho cocked his head slightly in confusion. Hybrids were killed on Vegeta? That seemed odd to him. Would Saiyans really kill those like them? He knew they were a pretty strong, warrior race, but killing their own half kind that they could use or held some form of relationship with. Then again, his father had left him, so relationships didn't seem important to them. But he also had held a relationship with his mother and told her that mission for him. Did Turrip love Articho's mother? Did he hold some sort of fatherly pride for Articho? It was hard to tell and it ultimately didn't matter. His father had still left them and Articho would get his revenge.
"Harsh planet," he commented. He gave her a questioning sideways glance. "Not so bad being human raised. I've got the Saiyan potential for strength without the stubborn, warlike nature they have. Plus, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have wanted to be raised by Saiyans."
"Nice name," Articho said as he let her hand go. His stomach rumbled. He would need to order more than just a club sandwich. He was lucky his mother gave him a lunch allowance of a good deal of zeni. He figured the time she spent with his father taught her the nature of Saiyan appetites.

Either comedy wasn't his strong suit, or Kaula simply didn't like to laugh. Hell, all these jokes had her thinking back? When was the time she actually laughed. Legitimately.. Not to be a smug asshole or anything? She honestly couldn't remember. But, to be honest, she didn't really care about that. She had ditched any chance of a "normal earthling" childhood when she was born on planet Vegeta. She was almost envious of this other Hybrid because of that, after she's seen how Reikiko, the child she was helping, acts.
Still, she brought a hand up to push her sunglasses back up her nose. "Probably made you weak." she'd simply state as she moved along. "Then again, I have met some strong humans. But, still, a lot of them are weak." she'd say, not giving him another glance.
"Was named after my aunt." is all she'd say at that as they entered the restaurant. Kaula looked at the menu for a few seconds. "At least this place isn't a McBao.." she'd mutter, having a hatred for the food served at that place. She eventually pointed up to one of the options. "Yes. Server lady. I will have Ten of those." she'd simply state. Wait. Ten? Ten sandwiches!? Judging from her size, as she was rather short, it was still a lot. Could the other hybrid handle both her and his own orders?
"So.." she started, "What are you doing out here?" she asked as she looked back to the hybrid male.

Articho felt a flare of anger in his chest. The way he was raised made him weak? Yamado certainly hadn't been easy with him and he had spent eight years of his life training with the old man. From what she was saying and what he learned about his father, it seemed that Saiyan parenting was more hands off and brutal. Yamado had been hard during their training, but he was also encouraging and friendly during their down times. "One can't be too sure," he simply said. Articho looked up at the sky for a moment. "Human nature can surprise you."
"Was she a Saiyan?" he asked as he walked in after her. He glanced sts the counter and spotted his sandwich sitting there. He approached the counter and picked it up as Kaula ordered her own food. Articho glanced up at the food she ordered, then back to his own sandwich. "May I get..." the hybrid paused, tapping his chin as he thought about how much he wanted, trying to determine how hungry he was, "seven more of these?" The cashier nodded, a look of amazement on her face. Articho handed her the money and turned back to Kaula as the rest of the food was being prepared. He took a bite of his sandwich as she asked him a question.
"My mother sent me out to look for a job," Articho answered as he swallowed his bite. "Not that I really want one. It would take away time from training. What about you?"

"Human nature can be rubbish." she said in response. She hated her human half, sometimes, giving her this conscious. It was just annoying and usually got in the way. Again, the urge to punch things arose, but she made an effort to control herself. Noooo. Can't get violent here. You'd get in trouble and people would come after you and it would just be so annoying.
Her eyes rolled, "Of course she was, what do you think with that name. It's a traditional name that runs in my family." she said with a soft huff. Geeze. Did he know nothing about Saiyans? She watched him order, however, and was glad he didn't seem to have a human appetite. That much was good.
"Ah. A job." she'd simply say. Sure, she had one of those. Actually two. She was actually a magazine model, believe it or not, from time to time as well. But she didn't seem to really care enough to divulge that information to the other hybrid. "Good. At least you seem to train." she said, deciding to talk about what else she does. "I am a guardian of a city. I protect it and help train the person that the city was built for." she'd say, being a bit vague on purpose.

"Human nature keeps me from killing everyone I come across," Articho retorted. Of course, he did have the random violent urge every now and again. Sometimes he wanted to punch the nearest person straight through a wall for the hell of it, but the hybrid controlled his Saiyan half by reminding himself to save such urges for his father when he finally confronted him. A big deterrent was also the backlash his mother would have for him if he did something that stupid and got sent to jail.
Articho raised his hands defensively. "Hey, no need for the hostility," he said. "Not like I was raised on Vegeta or anything. All I know is my father picked my name and I have no idea why my mother agreed." He always thought his name was strange, but given other Saiyan names, it made sense. "That's pretty cool, actually. Your parents must be pretty fond of her, then. I didn't think Saiyans actually held familial ties in high regard."
"Seem to? I do train," Articho scoffed. "It's mostly by myself and by my own guidance and not with actual equipment, though. Just boulders and trees." It sounded like he really didn't since he used what he could rather than buy training gear, but he made sure to keep it high intensity that strained him. He nodded in response to what her job was. "Probably better than working a fast food joint. What's the city you protect? I'll have to stop by and visit sometime." Articho smiled as he said it, meaning it as a joke, but he wasn't sure if she would take it seriously or not.

The womanly Saiyan hybrid let out a scoff at that. It was true, however. She had known that. Granted, she had been taught to direct her anger in ways to help her.. Well.. Mostly. Hikari was trying to fix that, however, by teaching the woman manners and responsibility. Bah. Lame. However, their order came up! "Finally. About time." she said before moving to grab her tray of sandwiches and take a seat. She unwrapped the first and simply dug in, starting to eat a bit noisily and quickly.
Kaula burped, how classy, after he spoke. "Yeah yeah. Raised by a human. Not raised on Vegeta. Yeah yeah yeah. I remember that, at least." she said as she waved a hand, getting ready to start on her second sandwich when he mentioned something about her parents. She paused after that, starting to frown slightly as she started to think back about her mother. Was she still on Vegeta? Was she okay? Was she even still alive..? These thoughts troubled the female saiyan. "Yeah. Ancestry is.. Important.. To my family." she said with a sigh.
She tried to gain the attitude to insult him after that. Probably call him weak. But she didn't feel like she could right now. She paused, standing up slowly to tap at the desk slightly. "Don't worry about it. That's kinda just as good. But I suggest you get some weighted clothes. Those'll help. Or join a school" she said before sighing again. "It's a new place. Super expensive technology. Stuff is still being made, though. It'll be flying after a while. It's also in the west.. So if you're ever there." she explained as she slowly started to stand. Kaula looked off to the side as she knocked on the table. "I lost my appetite. I'll see you around, maybe." she said before moving to simply leave. That was odd.
[Trying to leave][Thanks for the thread. When you put it up, I want PL. :3][By the by. You can still do another post and all. x3]
