CELESTIAL EVENT: Full Moon
The wastelands of Beppa were covered in rolling hills. Wind stirred up the wispy, volcanic ashes and the sun’s never ending rays beat down on Capper mercilessly. Salty sweat rolled off his nose and stinged the little brainiac saiyan's eyes. His tracksuit and armor were overwhelmingly hot and sticky. The stiff, dry breeze puffed dust, blurring the technician's scouter. His hair stiff with salt. Capper noted that his tongue felt as if it was coated in fur and his lips are chapped and dry. What he wouldn't do for a drink of water on this backwater warfront... Why did the Mazoku even want this crummy planet so badly anyways?
It had been a good hour since the Hoffersons landed on Beppa. After dropping Mustyan off at the saiyan outpost so they could get a view of the rest of the volcanic planet, Capper parked the brilliant silver Aurora near a small Beppan city. The city was small and modest- Stone shacks and cottages were dotted alongside ashen dirt roads. Everything had been beaten down and baked by the sun - and sunlight was everywhere: in the dust, in the vivid colors, in the smells of spices and overripe fruit.
The town was deep in the saiyan territory of Beppa, and a safe haven from the wars on the front near the Mazoku territory. Capper led his family through the city, flipping through a brochure about the planet, the newest gem under the Solar Empire's belt- aside from the Brenchias, which the Hoffersons had already taken over. "Ugh, and I thought those Mazoku were a buncha meatheads." Chire mused as she tagged along behind Collard, watching as sone green Beppans drunkenly giggled and slurped down their drinks. Chire and Collard never drank, despite the latter owning a bar. Alcohol wasn't even tasty. Capper briefly winced when another green man was tossed out the window, folled suit by another from the bar. Several saiyans ran over to detain the bar fight while the little officer and his family passed by.
"Ugh, why are we even here on this dumb rock?" Chire complained. "Xylo and the rest of his pathetic pawns are off planet. There's NOTHING to fight!" She groaned while Collard sighed, shaking his head. "We need to be ready for an attack, just in case. There's little Mazoku, yes, but there's also little of us." The father expressed, earning another sigh from Chire while Capper trailed a path emblazoned on his map of the city. The little officer came to a stop in front of the city's gem, a recently built, stone skyscraper that stood the test of time. Apparently ancient Beppans had built it as some monolith or something for bragging rights, and it stood here ever since. Saiyans had began to upgrade the tall skyscraper, along with the rest of the city, so to speak. Several hovering monorails flew around on holograhpic tracks, and chromatic metal implants coated one side of the central skyscraper.
Chire stared up at the structure while Capper turned his head, speaking to his father. "Plus, there's no commanding officers like myself here, just a buncha soldiers. Besides, I hear they have good steak also at the Spaceys here!" Capper proclaimed, eyeing his mother. She was still staring up the tower with a blank expression. "And I know you and I love our food, mom." He resounded while eyeing his mom with a smile. But, he got no reaction from his mother's blank, unchanging expression. "...Mom?"
Blinking once, Chire's pupils flashed to a red color- a detail missed by Capper. "Helloooo? Earth to mom?" Capper spoke, walking up to his mother. Collard raised a brow in concern, his eyes trailing the tower to see what she was looking at. His heart sank when he caught eye of the object of Chire's attention...
The full moon.Collard tore his own eyes off the space rock just in time, watching his wife's tail twitch. It had been decades since she last turned-- would she still have control? Capper tapped his foot in front of his mother, only to take a few steps back when he saw Chire's expression change, teeth grit, shifting into sharpened fangs. "Moooom...? Y-you're scaring me!" He spoke, tilting his head. "C-Capper! The moon!" Collard quickly spoke while Chire let out a yell, eyes solidifying to a red color. Capper briefly eyed the orb in the sky, before realization sunk in. "...Oh." He mused quietly. "OHHHH NO."
Already, some of the pedestrians nearby had started to run and scream while Chire's yells began to devolve into primal roars and hisses. Capper approached his mother still, sweating. "C-come on mom... Y-you... know me still, right? You have control, riiiight?" He spoke hopefully, though Collard shook his head when Capper eyed his old man once more... Oh. So she couldn't control her Oozaru state, then? "Crapbaskets."
By the time Capper turned around, Chire had already grown into a mighty, black-furred Oozaru with darkened skin- a good sixty feet tall as well. The newfound beast raised her head high, letting out a shrill roar with raised arms. "RRAAAUUUUUGGHHHH!"
"G-get back!" Collard commanded, standing near the base of the oversized ape. Frozen with fear, Capper could only stare up at the raging monkey as she fired a beam of energy from her maw over the horizion, shaking her head and roaring... And then, the beast's eyes drifted down to the shaking Capper at her feet.... The boy was familiar, somewhat.
Collard's eyes darted between his giant monkey wife and his son. The beast lowered her head as Capper took several nervous steps back, falling to the ground due to his uncontrollable shaking. "CAPPER!!" Collard let out a yell, dashing towards his son to grab him and run, but not before the ape leaped forwards, grabbing the boy in her clawed palm.
Collard was promptly slapped away by a flick of his spouse's tail, sending him flying into a building. The ape briefly sniffed the little one in her palm, trying to pinpoint why his scent was so strange. With a quick growl, she'd eye the tower beside her. The ape tilted her massive head, a sudden idea coming to mind while Capper screamed and shouted in her palm, the boy's cries for help mere gibberish to the feral ape.
"Urrggghhh... Whhat happened?" Collard groaned, his eyes opening after being slammed into the wall of a building. Prying himself out of a Collard-shaped hole in the wall, he'd shake some bits of rubble off of his form, a sneeze tearing him from his thoughts. What happened? Where was he? Where was Capper? Where was Chire? "GGGROOOOOOOARRRGH!" Another screech directed Collard's eyes to the top of the skyscraper beside him... "Oh, you've got to be kidding me."
Atop the building was perched an Oozaru Chire, firing beams of energy from her maw whenever a clumsy Beppan flew up to challenge her, with Capper in hand. The father could have sworn he saw this in a movie once... But that was just a passing thought in the back of his mind. HAstily powering up to his Super Saiyan state, he'd stand at the base of the tower, trying to ignore his nervous trembling.Just how was he going to get out of this mess without hurting Chire OR Capper....?
