Tomoyo was tired to say the least. For the past hour and a half, Tomoyo had been trying his best to navigate around the Western Capitol of the planet Earth to at least TRY to shop for the coming holidays. Starting up the little shop on Korins Tower to sell those Senzu bean thingies had been a big hit apparently since the previously broke child was now sitting on quite the fair stack of zeni. Seeing as Hazzeru had mysteriously disappeared, leaving Tomo once more a hapless orphan all on his lonesome in the Tower and Teku so rarely visited, the child had taken it upon himself the deed of venturing into the bustling city and buy something to eat. Those beans feed you for 10 days, but the resulting hunger pains you DO feel are not very desirable. Holding his stomach as he navigate among the crowds of bustling individuals, Tomo couldn't help but break off finally from the throngs of people moving about their daily lives in rush hour before he sat down on a bench to the side of the street. Seated firmly on the wooden seats, Tomoyo balanced his chin on his palms as he stared back at the crowds. How was he going to get all the way to the store? What store would he even go to? Where even was the store he was going to!? ....then a thought occured to the hybrid child as he finally looked around him, taking in the scenery he had walked into. " Where am I?!" Cipher 24

"Noooooooooo..." Charlene groaned as she was pulled along by her mother. The girl was almost being dragged along. Meanwhile, Porsalynne was walking along cheerfully, pulling her daughter along behind her. "Oh come on Charlene. We need to get you a dress for the wedding. Besides, after what you and Tekuma did in the base kitchen's, you need to get out and do something constructive." "How is building a funnel cake machine non constructive? Funnel cakes are the food of the gods I tell you!"
Porsalynne sighed and shook her head. Her adopted daughter always spent her time around machinery. It was time for her to act like a lady, and to start, she was going to make sure that she was properly dressed for the wedding.
Then, the female android heard a voice yelling out. A voice of a child. Curious, Porsalynne pulled her daughter along, trying to find the source through the crowd. Eventually, she would spot a small boy, looking around, lost. What was a child doing here, all by himself? The white haired android approached. "Are you ok little one?" she asked, concerned.

Are you ok little one?
Turning his head towards the feminine voice that seemed to stand out from the rest of the bustling passersby on their day-to-day treks through the city, Tomoyo was surprised to see two girls, one a woman and the other a younger lady, looking towards him. Sliding himself on the bench so that his body was facing the two, Tomo tried his best to put on an assuring grin and chuckle... but all that came out was a half frown and nearly inaudible whimper emitting from the Hybrid's throat.
"I-I'm a little... lost?" Tomo tried to explain, looking for the best words to describe his situation without putting these random people into panic over him. He wasn't a little lost though, he was a LOTTA lost. Tomoyo recognized absolutely nothing about his surroundings, from the sprawling buildings, numerous chains of restaurants and streaking cars on the roads to the sides. He knew absolutely nothing about where he was... so how was he even going to get home, let alone to a store!?
Tilting his head while sniffing back emotions, struggling not to cry at his hopeless situation, Tomo turned back towards the white haired android with a pleading look. "Where's a store? I need to buy food."

Porsalynne looked down at the boy was clear sadness in her eyes. The poor thing was all by himself, hungry, and from the look of things, frightened. The female android simply couldn't stand there and leave him like this. "Here," she said, offering her hand to him, "We'll get you something to eat. Then, we'll do our best to help you." Meanwhile, Charlene watched the boy curiously. It was strange to see a kid out here on their own, and judging by his clothes, he didn't appear to be some sort of hobo. The girl was wondering just what this kid's deal was, and hoping he wasn't just trying to pull one over on her mother.

We'll get you something to eat. Then, we'll do our best to help you.
Sliding off of the bench side, Tomoyo grinned up at the nice lady that offered her hand. Raising his arm above his head slightly, Tomo slipped his tan and soft fingers into Porsalynne's own before giving them both a warm smile. "Thanks miss~" See! Who says talking to strangers wasn't a good idea!
Feeling the back of his neck prickle under the gaze of a wary eye, Tomo's own slowly drifted to the side before they landed on the form of the younger girl that was with the nice lady. Feeling weird about her staring without saying much, the Saiyan hybrid offered her a friendly grin too before introducing himself as happily as he could. "Hi! I'm Tomoyo! Nice to meetcha~" Cocking his head back as it lolled from side to side on his neck, the innocent bundle of released inhibitions directed the introduction mostly at Charlene but in a way in the same direction as Porsalynne as well.
"What's your name?"

Charlene studied the boy as he smiled and greeted her. He seemed a lot more relaxed now that he had people around the look out for him. She couldn't really blame him. Her mom was pretty great after all. The girl eventually smiled. "Hey there. The name's Charlene. And this is my mom, Porsalynne." Porsalynne smiled and gave the small boy a wave with her free hand as they began to walk along.
The female android looked around, trying to think of a good palce to eat. "Anything you're interested in for lunch? And no Charlene, you are not getting carnival food. One, I don't know where we could get some, and two, you need to eat some real food for a change." "Aww, but moooom, funnel caaaaaakes," the girl whined as Porsalynne chuckled and shook her head. She turned her attention to Tomoyo. "Is there anywhere you'd like to eat?"

"Nice to meetcha, Charlene!" Tomo repeated gladly as the younger of the girls introduced the two of them. So the older lady was her mom? That made sense, he supposed. Turning towards Porsalynne though, the Saiyan hybrid's face took on a confused contortion as he tried to ponder the name. "P-por-shal-in?" Fumbling over his own words, his black brows furrowed in difficulty while trying to pronounce the name correct. Casting his gaze upwards at the white haired android once more, his expression took on one of innocent hope that he had been successful.
Anything you're interested in for lunch?
At this question from Porsalynne, Tomoyo's ears suddenly perked up. They weren't just helping him find a store; they were getting him food too?! Caught up in the excitement though, Tomo barely even thought to say thank you; instead opting to jump full swing at the first thing that came to mind... which also happened to be the one thing that had been earlier denied to Charlene.
"Carnival food? Ooh, what's funnel cake?!" Hopping up and down in excitement, Tomo's mouth watered slightly at this new and cool sounding food. Funnels were like tornado's right? Carnivals had games... Was this some sort of carnival game where you went into a room with cake tornadoes!?! "THAT SOUNDS AMAZING!"
Eyes glowing with eager ambition, the child's soft hands clenched the elder's own ever so slightly to accentuate his excitement for the mysterious food. "Can we have funnel cake? Please~"

Porsalynne blinked and looked down at the boy as he bounced in excitement, echoing Charlene's testament for carnival food. The female android gave a small chuckle and shook her head. Kids. Bless their dear little hearts. "Unfortunately, there isn't anything around here where we can get that, so I'm afraid you two are out of luck." Charlene visibly deflated at being denied her favourite treat, despite the support that Tomo was providing her. The female android chuckled and pet her daughter on the head. "Now now, don't be like that. I'm sure we'll find somewhere lovely to eat. Come along you two."
With both kids in hand, it wouldn't be long before Porsalynne found a nice place for the to eat. A pizza shop. Naturally, with two kids in tow, and Porsalynne's own massive appetite, it was only natural she was going to order one hell of a pizza for them all. "Alright kids, what do you want on the pizza? Anything at all!"

Disappointed slightly that there wasn't any funnel cakes to be had, Tomo's gaze was cast downward for a few moments before he almost instantly rebounded. There wasn't a lot that could keep this bundle of innocence down, short of just beating the crud out of him~ "*long drawn out sigh* Okay." The hybrid conceded before willfully allowing himself to be led by the hand further by Porsalynne. Letting his eyes wander as he was led god knows where in the city, Tomo's gaze finally landed back on Charlene's...
where they promptly stayed.
Blinking once, the oblivious half-breed's eyes soon widened in panic as he began realizing that the person Porsalynne was leading along on her other side was the very thing he was not prepared for... A Girl his Age. "Oh no! What do I do? Do i say more stuff, what do I say about her hair!? Um... okay. Maybe if I don't look at her, she wont think i'm weird?" The curse of just figuring out that you like girls, albeit the process was a little haphazardly erratic and slow for the hybrid child; Tomoyo's mannerisms and normally flowing nature soon fell into awkward mumblings and goofups-galore~ Oh darn it, why'd he have to start thinking about girls differently!? They were just prettier boys that look weird!
Snapping his head almost unnaturally straight while he stared straight foreward, Tomo tried his best not to think about the thing he was thinking about... and it failed. Before Tomoyo even knew it though, the three of them were now standing in what looked to be some sort of pizza restaurant of some kind? Oh! That's the perfect thing to get off his mind, food!
"C-Can I pepperoni the hungry? I'm pizza!"
Beautifully worded. A true linguistic linguist.

Porsalynne couldn't help but chuckle at Tomo's stammering. She had noticed Tomo's behaviour around Charlene, and the female android couldn't help but find it cute. Most parents would be wary about a strange boy having eyes for their daughter, but Porsalynne was more than confident Charleen could handle herself. And if she couldn't Cipher and Tekuma could.
"Ok, Pepperoni for you. Anything you want Charlene?" The girl was about to speak up when Porsalynne quickly added "And no, they cannot make a funnel cake pizza." The girl look slightly deflated. "Ok, Bacon then." Porsalynne nodded and smiled. "And I'll add some red peppers to that. You need your vegetables after all." Charlene puffed her cheeks out lightly as Porsalynne smiled and headed to the counter to order. After placing the order, she had collected three cups, two of which she gave to the children. "You two go get a drink from the machine. And if you two are good, there's a dessert bar as well." She smiled and gave a playful wink to them.

Practically slapping himself mentally at how dumb he was acting, Tomoyo was trying something, ANYTHING at all else to focus his mind on besides the existence of the opposite gender. When he finally found it though, Tomoyo was part relieved and part disgusted at the new thought which had invaded his mental and auditory spaces:
And I'll add some red peppers to that. You need your vegetables after all.
Frown growing by the second as the child's nose perked in disgust, Tomoyo was practically mortified. Who would put VEGETABLES on PIZZA!? That was like an affront to all that was good about its taste in the first place; and that was not even getting into the entire discussion that the whole branch of "food" items were practically poisonous to his taste buds. Letting out a quite audible groan as Porsalynne finalized the orders before handing him a cup, it seemed that had done the job as, turning quite enthusiastically to Charlene, Tomo had once more shifted from developing child to full on little-kid mode as his distracted mind started regarding Charlene as just another kid his age.
"Hey, you think they have root-beer? That's my favorite soda?" Tomo tossed the question into the air as he led the charge on the beverage fountain; Upon hearing the older woman's words, a fiendish smirk beginning to worm its way to the corners of his face as he heard the magic words, "desert" bar. Turning his head to Charlene while holding up his hand to shield it from Porsalynne's view, Tomo whispered to the girl in an almost silent tone. "Psst, you think they have a funnel cake~?"

While Charlene was annoyed about the peppers on the pizza, she was at least able to push that disappointment down when she was offered a drink, and the possibility of the dessert bar. At Tomo's question about the drinks, she smiled and replied, "Well, let's see." Sure enough, there was Root Beer, along with others. Charlene helped herself to some cola. Then came the big question. Did the dessert bar have funnel cake?
"I doubt it. They rarely have that sort of thing in places like this. Still, we can see what they do have here." Leading Tomo over to the dessert bar, the girl cast a critical eye over it all. "Let's see," she said, her voice taking the tone like an expert, "We have jello, red and green varieties. We have chocolate brownies. And of course, we have soft serve ice cream with chocolate chips, both milk and white. Chocolate syrup, caramel, and OOH! Strawberry topping. Not a lot of places do that anymore. We also have crushed cookies, crushed nuts, and sprinkles." The girl looked over it all before turning to Tomo. "My professional opinion on the quality of this dessert bar. Be good for mom."
Meanwhile, Porsalynne had been getting their pizza, bringing it over to the table. "Ok kids, lunch's ready!"

Pulling back after hearing Charlene point out the drinks, Tomoyo's grin soon faded with a more gentle smirk. The plus of the fountain having his own favorite soda proved to improve his mood even more as he soon loaded his cup underneath the dispenser before pulling down on the handle over his head to fill up his cup. Sipping casually from the drink, absorbed into the sensation of the frothing carbon popping down his tongue and throat, Tomo just barely caught the disappointing statement that had been issued by the little girl.
...but her next statements hooked the child right back to attention. Completely mystified by Charlene's expert tone and analysis of just the items in the desert bar, for a second Tomo even had a hard time thinking she was a kid like him. She sounded just like an adult when she was just talking about desert options and toppings! "Woah... you sound really smart~" Tomoyo uttered, mouth agape and honestly impressed by her thorough analysis. Hearing the girl's warning for him to be "good for mom" Tomoyo gave an apologetic smile before embarrassingly scratching the back of his fluffed hair. "Heh. Sorry~ I'll be good, I promise!" Could she read minds or something?!
Ok kids, lunch's ready!
Clasping his hands around his drink, Tomoyo turned back towards where the adult android had gathered their fresh pizza and brought it towards a table. Walking over at a mostly slow pace, the Saiyan hybrid would wait for the other two girls to take a seat before himself sitting down. While his Dad hadn't been much of a influence in his mind, the scholarly human had made sure to ingrain in Tomoyo's head a few valuable lessons; one of which happened to be letting girls sit down first... for whatever reasons that adults knew or something? The reasoning was completely lost on him~

Porsalynne smiled as the two kids approached the table. Charlene immediately leaped into her seat excitedly before Porsalynne took her seat as well. "Alright kids, dig in!"
The pizza was large enough for all three to have their fill. It would be surprising to see the normally dainty Porsalynne chowing down on pizza with relish. Meanwhile, Charlene was just as eager, but taking her time. Mainly because she was trying her hardest to endure the peppers on the pizza. At first the girl moved to pick them off, but a stern look from Porsalynne put a stop to that quickly. The older android looked over at Toma with a warm smile. "How's the pizza? I hope you're enjoying it." Charlene made a small sound as she ate her pizza. "Even handicapped by peppers, this pizza's pretty good."

Excitedly leaping into his own chair next to Charlene, Tomoyo stared at the pizza longingly, his mouth already salivating profusely at its intense smell. "Oh boy. I hav-" The excited hybrid started off, just ready to start digging into the meal before his eyes finally landed on it and remembered:
Vegetables.
Eyebrows furrowing in concern at the meal in front of him, Tomo looked cautiously side to side as if visually asking if the other two were actually going to eat this? On his left, Porsalynne's previously dainty and majestic demeanor had completely vanished as she was laying into her pizza slices with gusto. On the half Human's right, Charlene seemed to also be doing so but all the while trying to maneuver her way around the peppers. Noticing her strategy of extracting the pieces from the pizza, Tomo realized the brilliance of the plan and had just about set to work replicating it. Extracting the disgusting plants from the top of the cheese, Tomoyo had almost worked his way through his first slice before he noticed the girl freezing her activity completely with a single look from her mother.
"..." Eyes widening in panic and terror, Tomoyo hastily sweeped the pepper bits that he had picked off his pizza onto the floor in hopes of avoiding Porsalynne's sight and attention. Whistling innocently while slowly biting into his pizza (it wasn't really as bad as he expected) and looking away, the kid's face was the picture definition of guilty. "Yeah. Good. Pizza." Tomo mumbled in response to their previous remarks, bits of cheese sticking to his nose and the sides of his face as he ate mildly quick.
