The young woman pulled the red jacket she wore further onto her shoulders, covering the tattered white tank top she wore underneath. She had a small bag over one shoulder, full of the items she had gotten while in South City. Her eyes narrowed in frustration as she thought back on the final battle she had encountered at the tournament. To think that there was something that powerful on Earth, and for it to be human no less. She sighed in weary irritation, adjusting her red jacket slightly. “Well, once I get back to the Bamboo Forest, the first thing I’m doing is taking a bath in the stream to soothe my soul!” The woman declared aloud, not caring if anyone in the immediate vicinity heard. A single cart with a farmer on it was rolling past, and the old man on it leaned over and called out to her. “Um, girlie! If you’re aiming for the Bamboo Forest, you’ve gone the wrong way. This way is west, and you’re about to enter the Fukurou Forest.” Tulip’s emerald eyes widened in shock, before the girl’s grip slipped on her bag. The small bundle fell to the ground as the young woman screamed loudly in rage and disgust. “Dammit! I forgot to ask which way was East when I left South City! Fuck!” The farmer continued on his way, leaving the hybrid to stew in fury. Finally getting her emotion levels under wrap, the woman glanced towards the nearby forest and sighed more warily than before. “Well...since I’m already here, might as well make something of it.” The clearing the young hybrid found wasn’t as nice as the one she called home in the bamboo forest, but it would serve its purpose. Less than a hundred meters away was the large creek bed that was more than four feet deep, which would serve as a bathing spot and water source. The woman tossed her bag to one side and pulled her red jacket off, revealing the weights that lined her body. She started to take off the weights, when she suddenly detected a power source nearby. Something breathing...definitely something humanoid. “Dammit...why now?” Walking towards the power source, the woman secured her jacket and pulled it on again. Heading into the forest, she made sure to note the location of the clearing, in order to secure her bag at a later time.

Somewhere, deeper in that same forest...The energy that Tulip would sense loomed. Far, far up in a tower made of stone that pierced the very heavens... Tales and legends told of the people that dared to scale this tower, only to find a powerful entity waiting at the top, ready to reward the disciplined and hardened souls that risked their lives and sanity to reach him. They would be granted a sacred cup of water...Whoever drank from this, would be empowered beyond their own expectations, physical feats rising like never before!
...That was thousands of years ago, though.
Now, a 19 year old city boy and an 11 year old kid were living there.
Faint humming could be heard coming from the 'downstairs' floor of the large tower, the sound of running water crashing and plashing against stone and skin. Soft streaks and clouds of steam covered most of the closed bathroom, creating the feeling of a near sauna. Inside, Hazerru was taking a well-deserved shower after an agonizing hunting trip, with bad luck hitting him around every corner possible. From stepping in bear crap to being stung by wasps, to being crapped ON by a bird! Horrible luck aside, his superhuman speed and reaction timing always gave him a little 'Cheat-button' to catch any unwilling animals. While he hated relying on it for hunting, everyone had their tolerance limits...Including him.
Hazerru's relaxing shower session was quickly cut short as the boy sensed something. A thick, powerful energy reading fairly close by. Judging it based on power, Hazerru could have sworn it was Tomoyo, back from doing...Whatever it was that 11 year olds do in a forest. Make treehouses? Hazerru turned off the shower and got out, mind scratched by pure curiosity. Something felt off from this energy, a different emotion linked to it, a vibe. While Tomoyo's energy reading always had a very happy, optimistic, and chaotic nature to it, this one felt much more level-headed and matured.
Yanking a towel off of the wall, Hazerru scurried around various rooms to dry himself off WHILST getting dressed, resulting in him tripping multiple times. Several potential concussions later, Hazerru was fully dressed in his casual outfit. Atleast, mostly. While reluctantly, he also slipped on his new training weights: A pair of boots, gloves, and a jacket disguised as impossibly heavy weights designed for fighters just like him. They were quite neat and helpful, honestly.
Finally stepping outside, Hazerru traced the Ki reading and followed it with his eyes, leaning over the steel railing. [There!] Realizing where it exactly came from, Hazerru vaulted over the railing and began freefalling hundreds of feet towards the ground straight toward the powerful energy reading. When dangerously close to splatting on the ground, he halted himself mid-air and floated down in a much slower, more gentle manner. Hazerru emerged from the treetops down onto the forest floor, eyes widening as he saw the person with his own eyes. ''Huh, didn't expect a girl here...-!'' The second after he said those words, he jumped up slightly, a nervous expression on his face. ''Er, wait, that sounded rude- I, uh, didn't mean to...''

The trees ahead of her rustled and opened, as a young man pierced through the foliage and landed on the ground. His eyes crossed her form, as she relaxed with her hands on her hips. His eyes widened, before speaking in a surprised tone. “Huh, didn’t expect a girl here…-!” Only a moment after he uttered those words, he rose to his feet, scratching his head in defeat before muttering with a nervous look on his face. “Er, wait, that sounded rude- I uh, didn’t mean to…” Tulip’s gaze met the young man and she relaxed. Seeing that he was an ordinary person, the hybrid sighed and began walking back towards her clearing. Glancing over her shoulder, she called back to the man. “Are you a human? Not that it matters. I’m headed back to the clearing I’m calling a temporary home. You’re welcome to come along if you want. All I have is water; I’m not sharing my food.” The young woman didn’t bother ensuring the man was following her, as she crossed her arms behind her head and stared ahead into the woods. She was here to relax and enjoy a vacation; though training would be nice, this was her break after that. Her eyes narrowed in frustration, before the woman sighed and muttered. “Relax, Tulip. It wouldn’t do to get your feathers ruffled now.” With that, the woman continued her brisk walk back to her clearing.

Hazerru awkwardly scratched the back of his neck at the somewhat uncomfortable encounter. In hindsight, he honestly wasn't even sure why he approached the girl. Curiosity? Slightly. It wasn't often that an unfamilliar energy reading passed through here, after all. And with how devoid Hazerru was of any intellectual conversations due to the fact that he lived with an 11 year old...Anything would satisfy him right now.
''Err...'' He muttered as the lady turned back again, for a moment Hazerru assumed he was being ignored rudely. Then, some unnecessary question came about him being human...And something about a camp. ''I dunno, are you?'' Hazerru replied suspiciously. As she walked away though, Hazerru quickly followed in a somewhat unconfident manner. Hazerru knew damn well how frustrating it was to constantly camp and travel everywhere, scavenging for food at every possible minute. He extended an arm as he scurried behind. ''Hey, hold on! If you're low on supplies, we got plenty up there.'' Hazerru tried to catch her attention, obviously referring to the colossal stone structure that stretched far above the skies.
Probably a bad decision, Hazerru continued to follow this person from a few feet away. He wasn't stupid, realizing he was probably being ridiculously annoying and poking his nose into someone else's business. Still, though, he felt bad for just having someone stay here sleeping in the forest. Even if, judging by their ridiculous power, they'd be just fine on their own. Tomoyo did it for him...So he thought he'd give the whole ''Being nice'' thing a go too. ''Trust me, camping in a forest ain't all that fun, I've been there.'' Hazerru continued to talk to the person, despite her clearly ignoring him for the most part. His hands were stuck down his pockets, not all that scared for the possibility that he could be attacked out of frustration. From the energy that he DID sense, she seemed to be about as powerful as he was whilst wearing his weights. No reason for him to worry, in his eyes.

When he asked if she was human, the woman only laughed aloud and continued walking. She would have given him an answer immediately, except for the tone he used when asking. Answering a question with a question only makes you seem guilty or condescending. Both are not great traits. The man continued following her, eyeing the surrounding terrain questioningly. She could only imagine what was going through his mind, as the hybrid checked the markings she had made on her way here to ensure the direction was correct. His arm suddenly shot upwards, causing the woman’s heart to skip a beat. An attack! Her enthusiastic thought was a false hope, as the man pointed towards something in the distance. A glance revealed he was pointing at a tall thing in the distance. Some form of tower in the distance. He spoke, voicing a possibility which would make the woman think. “Hey, hold on! If you’re low on supplies, we got plenty up there!”
We? The woman’s eyes narrowed at the mention of more than than one. This man had a partner, or many partners, living in that place in the distance. Why he would offer her free supplies was beyond the woman; all things came at a price, no matter how plentiful or easy to procure. He either had bad intentions, intended to use the woman for her body, or sought to obtain her wallet. The woman’s gaze remained on the forest in front of her, as she continued pushing onward. He still followed, either oblivious to the woman’s concern or the shift in her emotions. He finally spoke again, filling the silence with his voice.
“Trust me, camping in a forest ain’t all that fun, I’ve been there.”
The man thrust his hands into his pockets, possibly as a sign of his trust the woman wouldn’t attack. She sighed and finally stopped, turning to face the man. Taking a slow breath, Tulip finally spoke. “Look, it’s great and all that you’re offering me free supplies and a place to stay. I think that’s kind and amazing that somebody would take pity on such an unfortunate damsel in distress like myself. Unfortunately, I don’t think there is anything like ‘free supplies’, and that place looks conveniently ‘ambushy’. So, I’m going to ask you nicely to either be up front about your intentions now, or I might have to get serious and force you to spill your secrets. Either way, both of us are getting hurt.”
With that declaration, the woman slowly slid her feet apart. Her aura began expanding, turning menacing in feel. Thrusting one hand forward and tucking the other into her waist, she watched the man, waiting for his response. She hadn’t come here looking for a fight, but if this strange man from the distant tower wanted one…she was game, dammit!
