It was a warm afternoon in the Bamboo forest, and as always Melo was found on his porch drinking his favorite beverage, green tea. He couldn't live without it, moments like these were what basically made his life somewhat feel complete. Even though he was only 19 he felt like he had made a living for himself so far on Earth without his parents aid. His house was beautiful and made out of the best wood in the forest, and he personally loved it himself. To be honest, anyone that put so much devotion and dedication into one certain object/house would love it as well. It did take him about a year to build but in the end it was all worth it.
Melo could hear everything from his house. There was always a certain tranquility in the forest that allowed him to be their watcher of sorts. Yet, that peace would soon be disturbed by a sudden sound of leaves crashing as if someone was rushing through the forest. The trees were all jumbled up meaning that if anyone were to run through them they would have caused a racket. He didn't smirk or anything he was actually fairly pissed judging by the fact that this unknown entity disturbed his afternoon tea time. While he was a Saiyan, he had to have his afternoon tea time, it was just a must.
He flew up from his porch and moved closer to where he had heard the sounds coming from. He did seem ticked off, but that was his normal look. Melo always looked ticked off, it was just something he was born with. As he finally approached the area where he had heard the sounds coming from Melo stood straight and looked around.
"Who the hell is here. And why'd you have to disturb my goddamn afternoon tea time."

As Melo looked closer he saw that it was a woman causing all this noise, and god was she ignorant and stubborn. Just by her response Melo knew she was the type of woman that wouldn't back down from anything. Yet, Melo did look like he was about 15 or so, while in reality he was 19. He knew this woman was trying to get on his nerves so all he did was pick his tea pot up, his table and a chair and flew down from his porch to where this woman was walking around. He set his little area up around her, placing his table, tea and chair he began sipping right beside her.
"What the hell are you doing in a friggin forest at this time of day. Did they kick you out of your corner?"
He smirked at his smart remark, and continued to sip on his tea. "But that's none of my business" he said. He was really trying to get on her nerves just as much as she got on his. Even though she could be fairly annoying this woman was fairly cute as well. Melo didn't have many things to look at when he went to puberty nor did he have any friends there for him so he really was clueless when it came to females and such, yet he knew which ones were cute and which ones were not. He smiled and continued to look at her. He actually was wondering why she was in his forest. He's been living her for about 9 years and actually never heard a soul, yet this random day someone had to come and it was her. It was confusing, and sparked Melo's curiosity. Whatever she was doing here it was fairly obvious that she was looking for something in this area. What ever that was Melo didn't know.

Melo knew this girl was clever and that she would think of a comeback quickly and he liked that. He laughed, took another sip of his tea, placed the cup on the table, stood up, and looked at her; straight in the eyes. "Actually, I am a monkey of sorts, so you got something right" he said as his tail moved to somewhere visible to her line of sight. "Anyways, you're pretty smart yourself and judging how you're here all alone I'd guess you're looking for some companionship. And since you already ruined my afternoon relaxation moment I guess I can stay with you."
He smirked and gave her a cocky smile. He was an asshole, but after all that was how he grew up to be. With no parents, no family, and no friends there never was someone to tell him whats the difference between right and wrong. He took his chair, table, and tea set, placed them in his house and walked back over to the woman. "So, what's your name anyways. Never got a chance to ask, since we had such a formal and great introduction." He actually was nice this time, without even trying to be. Melo was a bit kind at times, whenever it fit the moment or whenever it just randomly popped out. He never was sure whether or not he was being nice, so he always thinks he acts the same all the time.
"Also, I'm pretty proud of my house thank you very much. I built it all by myself at the age of 11 and I couldn't have done a better job at that age. Again, it's about sentimental value not anything else. That's how I think at least, but you're entitled to your opinion; I guess."

The name Scarlet was pretty cute, but she had something weird about her. He had never seen a human with a tail before. Melo could put two and two together so he did have his mind thinking about what she actually was. He didn't have many life experiences after all, he was only barely an adult that raised himself. She was the first person he had saw in ages, thats pretty much the reason why he was disturbed by her playing with the leaves. He actually was getting quite lonesome and decided that he would approach her. He actually needed to talk to someone, but there was nobody he could trust at all. On Vegeta he had learned that emotions were for the weak, and that a Saiyan that cried was not a Saiyan at all.
Melo smirked and looked at Scarlet, "Yeah, a pretty short fuse. Maybe it's just because I'm not use to having people create distractions around these parts. So yeah, I'm just tryna say that I get a bit lonely here since I don't leave. People don't accept people with monkey tails in cities. Supposedly I'm weird and unnatural..." His facial expression went from a smirk to a frown sort of, and he really didn't do it on purpose. He slowly was given Scarlet some of his feelings, but he was only giving her the bare minimum, there was still m there was still a lot on his mind which he didn't even want to get into. He actually felt like preaching and deciding to hit Scarlet up with a big question. He didn't want to scare her and all, but just to answer with honesty. It all related to his parents, whether or not he should give up hope, wait or just live his life. Melo really didn't know what to do, he was clueless.
"Would you believe in what you believe in if you were the only one who believed it?"

Scarlet mostly said words that actually made sense. From the fact that she shouldn't care about what anyone else said, to the fact that Melo has been wasting most of his life living in a stinking forest. After he heard what she had to say, he smirked up and invited her into his house. "Of course I have extra tea! I'd love to have you come to my house, I could show you around my homemade house hah."
His mood obviously lightened up, as he held her hand and ran off up to his house. He didn't really know why he held her hand, but he just did. Maybe it was just him latching on to someone since he had nobody to latch onto. Despite not acting it, Melo was very lonely and bored and the fact that a woman walked up to his doorsteps helped him overcome the fear of talking and interacting with humans. He looked back at her and said, "So, what are you? You're obviously not a human since you have a snakey tail. You don't seem like a zoanthrope, but who am I so know."
Melo didn't mean to pry into her business, but he was so exciting that he just did. It was the first time in a long time that he actually smiled, and he hoped Scarlet wouldn't take that in vain. He brought her to his porch, sat her down, and poured a cup of fairly sweet green tea. Melo enjoyed his tea to be a bit sweet, but not too sweet of course. He also believed that the making of tea was an art, that only few knew how to make perfect tea. He didn't believe his was perfect, but he just believed that it was close enough. He loved tea, as much as he use to love training and getting stronger; he just lost muse.
