Duri would be wandering around the seemingly endless bamboo forest. He had enjoyed his training time with Negi, a fellow soldier of the Solar Empire. Duri thought things couldn't get any better. He had a ki blade formed in his right hand, all the way from his elbow to a few centimeters above the tip of his fingers. He was slicing away at the sticks, planning to cut them into tons of tiny pieces before they could hit the ground. Duri wondered if there were more full blooded saiyans on Earth, and some with good potential. He knew a few by now. Maybe he could adapt a widespread partnership.
Besides, Duri could use a squad. Someone who would have his back, and he had theirs. Sure, Duri really did what he wanted, but nothing outside the limits of the Solar Empire. Duri was truly dedicated to the Solar Empire, and would do almost whatever it took in their name. He still proceeded, taking step my step through the forest of standing sticks. The soil here was quite firm, with him having even ground to stand on. This cutting would loosen his joints, and make him more flexible and agile.
He wondered if he could find any more full blooded saiyans like Negi? Especially one aligned with the Empire! Perhaps one was nearby?

[Thread PL: 3000] [Equipment: None] [OOC: Hello! Thanks for the tag and thread! ^.^] Taro was nearby. On her short time on Earth, she'd spent her time wandering through this strange planet. From the cold, northern highlands to the sweltering western desert, Taro was awestruck by this little green gem's infinite complexity. Now, Taro explored through the thick bamboo forests of the east. While she'd seen sparse vegetation on other planets, the thick walls of growing shoots was a magnificent sight to behold. This Earth was truly the stuff of legends. It held more wonders than all the planets Taro had visited or razed combined. She had long since shed her saiyan armor--Taro found out it attracted too much attention after watching a few Earthlings flee after she asked for directions. Instead, she wore lose-fitting, baggy, dark-blue pants accompanied by a simple, large white T-shirt. She didn't quite get Earthling fashion, but it was much better to blend in here. Taro also still hadn't replaced her scouter. The earpiece had been destroyed in a recent battle. Speaking of which, she didn't mind the food. Taro idly munched on a food-bar--the Earthling said it was a flavor called "chocolate", and it was quite enjoyable! It had a tenancy to melt and stick to her fingers. She redoubled her efforts on the chocolate bar and took two quick bites as she explored the forest, weaving among the tall stalks of bamboo. "Duri?" Taro nearly inhaled the chocolate bar in surprise. While she hadn't met him before with him personally, the up-and-coming saiyan warrior was garnering a bit of a reputation, especially to the new recruits like her. Earth was the last place she'd expect other SSE soldiers to loiter, especially given the recent invasion attempt. Her thoughts caught up to her racing thoughts, and Taro introduced herself, albeit informally, "I'm Taro! I wasn't here in the attack, but I'm still a soldier of the SSE!"

Unknowing that others were nearby, Duri continued. He continued until his name was called by an unfamiliar voice. Almost instantly, Duri turned his head. ["Wait... someone knows my name and I've never seen them before?"] Duri was VERY confused, but he stopped and went with it. He powered down his ki blade until nothing was left of it, and stood tall in front of the female. Duri was only a bit taller than her at the moment. She was quite talkative, and she introduced herself quickly. "Oh, your a fellow saiyan and member of the empire?" Duri paused for a second, before he continued speaking. "Wait... How did you know my name...?"
While Duri was waiting on a reply, he looked at how she was dressed and what she had in her hand. Duri just ignored it and glared back at her normally.

"Sure am!" Taro explained between contemplative bites of the wonderful chocolate bar, "You, uh, finished the academy right when I was going in." There weren't many that finished the rigorous trials of the academy, so remembering the names of the saiyans that passed wasn't as hard as it first seemed. For a while, the only sounds were of the buzzing insects and chirping wildlife in the deep jungle and the sound of Taro munching on the rest of the candy bar. After she stuffed down the last bite, she cracked a broad smile, happy to see a fellow saiyan. She wiped the little bits of chocolate that stuck to her fingers off on her shirt. She was naturally curious as to what Duri was doing here. After all, the invasion was over, they lost. Still, she'd learned that asking too many questions quickly earned the ire of her superiors, ire that was punctuated, usually, by a blow to the stomach. Until she got a better read on this new saiyan, Taro would play it safe for now. Likewise, she hoped he would avoid that topic as well, but those worries were hidden behind her friendly grin and bright eyes. "You want one?" Taro produced another half-melted, crumpled bar from one of her pockets. She waggled it in front of Duri's face for a few moments. "This Earthling food isn't really all that bad, you know." [ OOC Notes: These two are going to get along great. Lovin' it !]

Duri smirked. It was nice knowing that there were plenty of members of the empire on Earth. Duri then heard her talk about the academy. He hadn't really been thinking about that, the academy was easy enough for him with the influence of his father. In fact, he had not even contacted his father in a while. Maybe some day he would get around to doing that. Duri didn't know much of his mother, as she died during his birth. He watched as the saiyaness bit away at the chocolate, before smiling at him. He smiled back, and would try to loosen up a joint in his arm. It would make a popping noise, Duri not knowing why.
Duri ignored the pop in his elbow, and would watch as Taro offered him some chocolate. Duri would smile. "I don't really eat candy, but thanks for the offer." Duri only really ate meat for the protein, and sometimes vegetables mixed in with it to stay in good health. Putting that aside, he was going to reply to the saiyaness' next comment. "Yea, Earth's food is amazing." Duri would then go back to being calm. "Putting that aside, do you have a partner?"

"Suit yourself." Taro said at Duri's refusal, pocketing the candy bar for later. It meant more tasty Earth food for her. She leaned against one rather thick bunch of bamboo stalks, enjoying the warmth, even if the damp air and buzzing of insects did ruin it a little. Especially the insects which tried to dart and land on her delicious chocolate bar that stuck out of her back pocket, but a few swats left the little bugs dead on the ground.
When the saiyan inquired as to if she had a partner, Taro tilted her head a bit to the side. She wasn't quite sure what Duri meant. She didn't really find him that attractive--the gruff saiyan type was the norm, really. She hoped he wasn't hitting on her at their first meeting, although she had met some saiyans that had the gall to try. Those types ended up with a ki-blast through their chest.
"You mean a sparring partner?" Taro said, hoping this is what Duri meant. She considered for a moment. I'd be a great opportunity to train with another saiyan, one of the SSE, no less. While the calm, stoic demenor Duri had could be irritating, she would have a lot to learn from a more experienced warrior like Duri, "Not for a while, but I'm always looking for a good fight, why?" Taro almost waited patiently for Duri's answer, but soon her curiosity started kneeding the back of her mind. Something seemed a bit off, or a bit different about this saiyan. She tried to ignore the thoughts and just soak in the grand scenery of the forest, but there was something off about his arm. . .
"Also, What happened to your arm? Why does it pop like that?" Taro blurted as Duri stretched and popped his arm. Her curiosity was lightning-fast and irredeemably insistent. Sometimes her better judgement didn't catch up.

Duri waited, and he got a reply. Duri also commented himself. "Like a squad partner. Training partner is also nice. What else did you think I meant?" Duri paused before making a followup to the saiyaness' other reply. "I have some training partners, but the more the better." Duri paused again, the saiyaness' was a person who had many questions, that was fore sure. Duri didn't really pay any mention to it. It was better than being bored all day, and chopping bamboo sticks down to loosen his joints. To add more on to the questions, she asked while my arm was popping. Duri thought the answer was obvious, it happened to everyone, at least he thought, every one in a while. Well, if she didn't know, Duri might as well go ahead and tell her. He sighed before he spoke, letting the air out of his lungs that had built up. "It's because people joints stiffen sometimes." Duri then paused, thinking about the other full blood saiyans on Earth and he should tell her about them. "Also, there are more of us on Earth." Duri paused before he would comment on all the full blooded saiyans he met. All of them were still loyal to the empire in his visions. "There's Negi, a long haired male saiyan. Also there's Kaile, a female saiyan like you. Then, there's Capper. He's the weakest of the bunch, with a power level of 20. He doesn't like training and he whines all the time." Duri would then pause, waiting for any new comments.

"Um, nothing!" Taro quickly denied that she had thought Duri's offer was anything else. She was always up for training, and it would be nice to have another saiyan watching her back. She listened intently to Duri as he explained the many Saiyan traditionalists still on Earth. She never would have guessed there would be so many.
"Wow! I didn't think there were so many SSE about after, um, you know." She didn't refer to the failed invasion by name, "They sound like a fun bunch. I wonder why so many saiyans are here on Earth?" She idly asked to no one in particular, "Then again, the queen's been really quiet lately, so I guess some would stick around. In any case, I'm glad I'm not alone" Sort of. While it was nice to see a familiar face, or at least one that wouldn't run in fear if she dawned her battle armor, half of Taro hoped she could explore Earth without being reminded of the Saiyan Solar Empire and all its rules, at least for a bit. Maybe Duri felt the same way.
"I'll give you a good spar, maybe it'll help you loosen out that arm of yours--just let me stretch a bit first." Taro said and idly started to stretch. She bounced in a low crouch, stretching out first one leg, and the the other. She wasn't concerned about a difference in power level. While she knew that Duri was probably more experienced and the stronger fighter, facing those stronger always gave her an opportunity to learn and grow herself! Taro swiftly cut down a thick stalk of bamboo. Using the stalk as a makeshift staff, she hoisted it above her shoulders so it rested on the back of her shoulders, just below the neck. Then she rotated her torso from side-to-side, stretching her back, warming up for a good scrap. After stretching, she said, "It would be nice to follow someone that actually knew their way around this planet. I'll join your squad for now, but I'm not going to do anything that will re-ignite any sort of war or anything. No terrorizing villages and blowing up cities."
Taro held a stretch that felt particularly good, "At least, not without the queen or one of her generals ordering it."

Duri thought Taro was the quick one to respond. Duri scratched the back of his head, wondering what was next. Duri quietly listened to all her questions, interested. Duri almost instantly replied. "Hundreds are still on Earth most likely, somewhere. The invasion number was in the thousands, I'm pretty sure. Even if the saiyans weren't ordered directly to come I bet they would still want to come to get some action in." Duri paused to take a breath of air. The queen, someone Duri hadn't thought about in a while. He assumed she went silent out of nowhere to take a break, maybe she was even teaming up with the earthlings. Duri folded his arms. "The queen is on Earth somewhere. I personally don't care as long as it doesn't hurt the empire."Next up, she wanted a spar. It was good that Duri had his weights on today, so he wouldn't win almost instantly. These weights also increased his power, so he really had no problem with them as long as they helped. He watched as Taro took her position and make her a weapon to use. Duri would gain himself a bit of space, and would take his own stance. He'd put his right arm in front of him, and the other bent from the elbow behind him facing forward. He would also put his right leg in front of him, and the other behind. He'd keep his eyes focused on Taro. Duri would then form 2 blades of ki on both of his arms, from the elbow up to a few centimeters above his fingers. ["I'll take a basic multi-purpose stance. After all, I just met her."] His body would sparkle in ki in a electric-like coating, following the ki blades. His muscle mass would then start to increase, causing him to become at least 0'5" taller, making his height 6'5". Rapid streams of shock waves would pulse around the area, making some bamboo sticks bend back. Duri would listen to Taro's next reply about joining the squad, and the orders. "Don't worry, I don't do any of that... Without permission." Duri said this while maintaining his position. Taro smiled as she held her stretch and let Duri power-up. She was starting to like him, in the friendly way. Most saiyans got fed up and annoyed with her questions, but he didn't seem to mind, even if he was a bit on the quiet side. She listened to the rattle of the bamboo stalks as they bent backwards and knocked against each other. It almost sounded like a very heavy rain. She let the wind from Duri's power ruffle her hair. She heard the hurried squawks of Earth-birds and the fluttering of many wings as the nearby birds quickly took off, startled by Duri's sudden surge of power. Taro figured she would stay away from ki attacks for now, she didn't want to start a fire in such a large forest. Taro held her stretch just for a moment longer, and--there! Now she was limbered up and ready to spar!
"Alright Duri!" She said, grinning. Taro was more than enthused at Duri's unique ki-blade technique and his power. She'd learn a lot from him, and had a lot to learn. "Show me what you've got!"
With that, she flexed the bamboo into an arch, and let go of one end, swinging it around in a throw as she did so. It whirled so fast, that it could be mistaken for a large, wooden disc. The flung bamboo carved through the air, directly at Duri!
But that wasn't the only trick Taro had. After she flung the bamboo, Taro quickly lept upwards, flipping as she did so. She stabilized at the top of her trajectory to bring a heel crashing down--aimed for the top of Duri's head. She hoped the bamboo would distract Duri from this, real attack.

Duri stood there in his stance, smirking. Duri waited as Taro talked, before she finally did something interesting. Duri got his foothold in the ground, standing firm and tall. He watched as Taro took a piece of bamboo and arched it, and flung it sending it straight for him. Finally, Duri could get straight to it. Duri quickly raised one arm in the path that the bamboo stick was going. Once the bamboo stick touched his arm, it almost instantly sliced from the point his arm hit. He still didn't take his focus off of Taro, watching as she jumped into the air, flipping as she flew. He watched as her heel was about to come down on her.
Duri quickly put both of his arms on the top of his head, making the palm face where her leg was about to land. He quickly turned off his ki blades so he wouldn't rip her clothing or puncture her foot. As her foot landed, he would grab it. "Nice try." Duri would then fling her into some bamboo stalks, before reactivating his ki blades and proceeding to follow her. Duri really thought it wouldn't be nice to rip her clothes, so he deactivated his ki blades for good. He'd then try to do a followup by striking her stomach with his right arm.

Taro's heel connected with Duri's ready palm. Taro cursed under her breath and quickly tried to reverse her momentum and wrench her foot away. But it was too late! With a powerful heave, Duri flung Taro into the wall of Bamboo. She was thrown with such force that the stalks cracked and snapped as her body careened through the forest. She had to admit, Duri was pretty strong!
Before she could recover, Duri struck with a lightning-quick blow to the stomach. The blow completely reversed her momentum and launched her upwards. Taro saw stars from the force of the blow. shocked at Duri's speed. Surely no one could move that fast! She didn't even see him! She flew, spiraling upwards from the blow until finally she recovered. She hovered a dozen or so meters above the thick green canopy. She scanned beneath her, waiting for Duri to make a move.
"It's not gonna be that easy!" Taro challenged, gasping for breath in between each word. She widened her stance to a defensive one. She regretted eating that chocolate earlier. She felt a bit sluggish. Her stomach protested and grumbled. The candy bars were not an exactly a nutritious meal.

Duri quickly looked up as the blow landed, not too surprised. Duri would smirk as she went up, preparing to make a next move. He watched as Taro continued to fly upwards. ["Did I hit her too hard...?"] He was worried until she finally brought herself to a stop. Duri then called out to her. "I'm surprised your not unconscious from that hit!" Duri glared at her as she glared at him, with Duri listening to her comment.
Duri laughed for a brief moment under his breath in reply to Taro's comment. Duri would then swiftly raise his hand into the air, pointing it towards Taro swiftly. Duri would then fire a ki ball at her, and paused for a moment. After about 3 seconds had passed he fired 3 extra ki balls headed her way. "See if you can dodge or block these!" Duri would bring his arm down, and re-assemble his multi-purpose stance, preparing for a counter attack.
Duri had to admit, she was tough. Still, Duri wasn't at his full power, and he planned not to use it. His weights were also restricting half of his power also. Duri then waited for anything to come.

Taro rushed forward into the volley. No matter what her stomach said, she would keep going and get stronger! She clenched her fists until they shone with concentrated ki energy. The ki extended down her forearm to form matching energy-gauntlets. Then, with titanic force, Taro punched through the first shell, then the rest of the volley. Each blow stray energy skittering into the blue sky as the orbs detonated. The canopy of the forest below rippled in the shock-waves from each impact. After Taro deflected the last blast, she shot to the ground just in front of Duri. The stalks of bamboo rattled when she hit the ground.
Taro's lighthearted smile was gone. Instead, she sported a look of grim determination. Scuff marks from the close blasts peppered her face, and contrasted with her bared teeth. There were no more quips or tricks, just a desperate, all-out rush of melee attacks at her opponent. Taro rushed Duri with all she had! She would slake her curiosity and find out how strong Duri really was!

Duri was surprised at the capabilities of Taro. She was tanking his ki blasts, punching them head on! Duri quickly looked up, with his eyes locking onto Taro to track her movements. He watched as she deflected the last one, sending it into the nearby background, exploding and causing the bamboo sticks in the area to fly in all directions. There was no time for Duri to pay attention to any distinct details, but the saiyaness had formed a ki coating of her own. As Duri looked at Taro's face, he could tell she was determined. As soon as she hit the ground, Duri switched his position into defense mode.
Soon following her hitting the ground, she rushed Duri. ["Wow, she's really going at it..."] Duri would be blocking all of her punches with his forearms, and her kicks with his shin. "Trust me, you aren't going to beat me. I'm only at half of my strength now. I'm wearing weights." Duri would smirk looking at Taro, before removing one of his hands from the blocking almost instantly to form a ki ball in it. He would then attempt to ram it into Taro's abdomen, while blocking a few hits with his left arm. The ki ball wasn't explosive, so it wouldn't ruin her clothes.
