“Bye, Mom! I’m going out to get some food!” Toma spoke as he ran outside his home, his not-so-saiyan mother leaning out the window and shouting at him. “Be careful!” She shouted towards her adopted son as he flew into the air, heading towards one of the cities that was nearby. It was faster than using the vehicle they had bought him before he learned about his ability to fly. After all, after having discovered his ability to sense Ki, learning how to fly by pushing himself with his Ki was a synch. It came naturally, as if he had been born to use such abilities. Oh, how far out of the loop he was about his own people. Poor little Saiyan.
He was wearing his typical outfit. A black shirt and jeans and a thin overcoat that his tail was slid nice and snug around his waist, hidden from view. He smiled as he flew through the air, spinning and flipping and just generally having a good day. He smiled as he landed outside of the grocery store that he loved oh-so-much. The store clerk was a nice older lady that he had helped out once when he was little, though he couldn’t quite remember what it was. Something about beating up a stalker she had or something like that. All he knew was that he got food out of it. He walked into the store and was greeted by a friendly smile and a hello.
He, of course, didn’t look anything like the beings that were native to this planet, being a Saiyan and all, but they had accepted him. Toma wasn’t stupid of course, he knew he was most likely from another planet. That was the only possible explanation. But he was content living here. These people had adopted him, given him a home and love, when his own race had shot him out into space for whatever reason. Toma didn’t think it was right to pass judgement on his own species for their actions, at least not until he knew what their intentions were. He just hoped that they were good intentions.
He walked around the store, picking out the foods he wanted. A few eggs, some sand urchins, a a couple dozen pounds of Oonagi meat, and several other food items, before walking up to the clerk and placing his food on the counter, where she counted it up.
“Jeez, Toma, you eat more than any other guy I know…”
Toma laughed at this as the clerk picked up some of the sand urchins and placed them in the bag while he set his money on the table to pay for the food. “Hah, yeah, I get told that a lot. I don’t know why though, I just love eating! It’s a good thing I train though, I’m afraid I might get fat if I stopped!” He said, as the two shared a hearty laugh and he started to walk out of the store with his food. She waved bye to him and off he flew, into the bright orange sky once more. He was heading back to his home on the outskirts of town when he saw it.
It came without warning, decending from the sky as if it were some kind of heavenly being. But Toma knew instinctively that it wasn’t. The ship was large, metal, and triangular in design. It was adorned with symbols and languages that Toma hadn’t seen before, and Toma felt a pit in his stomach. He frowned, floating down to the ground as the planetary police of the planet moved out in their vehicles, which resembled tanks, to see if the new aliens were friendly. Toma knew that if these aliens ment well, they’d be more than welcome on this planet. After all, they had given him a home. Why not give a home to others if they require it? Or, maybe Toma had been a special case. He, from what he had overheard from his parents growing up, had arrived on this planet as a mere baby.
Perhaps that is why they took him in. Though, it didn’t matter to him. He set his food down in an allyway next to the store he had bought them at. He intended to come back and reclaim his food once he had made sure that these new beings weren’t here to cause harm to his home. After all, it wouldn’t’ be the first time Toma had meet someone with less-than-good intentions before. He levitated into the air, his Ki surrounding him before he took off once more, flying at full speed towards the giant ship.
What he saw when he got there angered him. His rage bubbled to the surface as he looked down onto the scene where the ship had landed. He was too late. The pirates had come out, firing Ki blasts as well as unleashing the blasters on their arms upon the poor police of the planet. The vehicles had been blown up, bodies strewn all over the battlefield. Toma clenched his right hand into a fist. A mass of energy made its way to his hands, as he held them to his right side.
“Galick…” He began to speak, as his power level rose. His breathing remained the same, but the only thing he wanted to see right now was these people paying for what they had done. They had invaded his home! Killed these people, who just wanted to greet them and make sure they were friendly! And for what?! Did they want to kill everyone?! Were they scared?! It made Toma furious just thinking about it.
“Gun…” The energy in Toma’s hands began to turn a deep shade of purple as he continued to gather more of his power in his hand. His clothing began to flap around in the wind as his Ki circulated outside his body, unfortunately drawing the attention of one of the pirates that had been looking up. They didn’t seem to be able to detect his Ki, nor have a way to do so via scouters, so they relied on their eyesight. They started to aim their blasters at him, but it was too late.
“FIIIREEE!” Toma shouted at the top of his lungs as he pushed his hands forward, the large blast of Ki flying ahead of him. The attack screeched through the air, as the on looking aliens began to sweat. “Run! That guys crazy, he’s going to destroy the ship!” Or at least, that’s what Toma thought they said. He couldn’t quite make out what they were saying over the sound of his attack. The pirates scattered like flies, but the attack hit its target. The beam blew through the hull of the vessel. The metal tore and scraped against each other, the attack twisting the hull of the ship before a bright light began to come from inside the vessel. About 5 people came flying out of it, before the ship blew up into thousands of tiny pieces. At least Toma knew that they wouldn’t be getting out of here that easily. They were going to face justice for what they had done.
“Aww man, the bastard blew up our ship!” One of the aliens cried. Unlike the others, this one was flying and seemed to be stronger than the others. The four other aliens, all dressed in odd blue and purple colored clothing, could fly as well. Toma knew that a fight was about to ensue, but he was confident in his abilities. “Hey! Asshole! Who do you think you are?!” One of the men shouted at Toma, who simply stared at them, scowling. “Who do you think YOU are?! You come to my home, attack my friends, and don’t expect anything to come of it?! How stupid do you have to be to believe something like that?!” Toma shouted. He couldn’t believe these people! The nerve of them!
He took off his jacket, tossing it to the side before he raised his arms, and spread his legs apart, bending his knees. Even if he was in the air, it always made him feel more at ease in this stance. He held his left arm forward, bent slightly in front of him while his right arm was held closer to his body, bent more and his fist closed, in case he needed to defend himself from an attack, which he knew he would. These people didn’t come for tea and cookies, after all.
“We’re pirates, mate!” The alien spoke in a rather Australian accent. It was an accent that Toma had never heard before. Not that it mattered, of course. These men were nothing but brutes. Killers, who end lives for their own amusement. “So you came here just to steal this planets minerals?” Toma asked, as the alien shook his head and face palmed. “Well, it’s more complicated than that. But yeah, basically. That’s the general idea.” He spoke, grinning.
“We were going to leave the inhabitants alone, but those men attacked us and you just blew up our only ticket off this rock. Looks like we’re going to have to kill all of you for payback…” The alien spoke, before Toma rushed at him at full speed, delivering a powerful punch to the man’s face, sending him down to the planet below. “I won’t let that happen!” Toma shouted, before one of the other Aliens, a 10 foot tall behemoth of a being, flew at Toma with all the force he could muster. He threw a punch at Toma’s face, which hit Toma square in the jaw, dazing him and knocking him back.
Toma shook the dazed feeling off before he looked up and saw the large man coming down from above him, his hands locked together above his head. Toma strafed to the side to avoid the attack, before bringing his knee up, landing a solid blow to the man’s abdomen. The man gasped in pain, spitting out some as his jaw dropped from the impact. Toma withdrew his leg from the man’s abdomen, before bringing up his elbow and smashing it onto the man’s spine, causing the man to scream in pain before plummeting to the ground below.
The other two aliens frowned and looked down at the two men who had been bested by Toma. They weren’t dead of course, they had been merely caught off guard by the Saiyans skill. “Hey boys, take care of this kid! We’re going to get us another ship!” One of the two shouted, before they both flew off, leaving Toma alone with the two he had just knocked into the ground. Toma’s tail unfolded from around his waist, plainly visible for all to see now, though he hadn’t realized his tail was moving. He had been too focused on the enemies to noticed. He let the other two get away, for now. Their Ki was signifigant. He could track them down later.
The first alien he had knocked into the crater floated back up to Toma’s level, scowling, flustered and humiliated. “You daft bastard! You don’t know what you just got yourself into! You’re in for a world of pain!” He said, before noticing Toma’s tail. “A Saiyan? What the hell is a Saiyan doing here? No wonder he’s so good at fighting…” The man muttered to himself, before rushing at Toma. Toma kicked high with his left leg to defend, but he had been too slow. The man grabbed his leg and spun around. Toma tried to stop himself, but he wasn’t strong enough. After building up enough speed, the man let go, sending Toma into the crust of the planet.
Pain shot through Toma’s entire being from the impact. His back was scratched up, his shirt torn some. He was dazed, and in pain. Though, he could live with pain. He grunted as he pushed some rocks off of him, before rolling over onto his stomach. He pushed himself up onto all fours, before standing up again. His nose was bleeding, and his body hurt, but that wasn’t enough to stop him. Though, he had to admit, fighting strong opponents sent a rush of adrenaline through his body at the thought. He was enjoying this, even if he was bringing them to justice.
Toma looked up at his enemies, the other behemoth of a person had regained consciousness and now floated next to the other one. They held their hands out infront of them, and Toma’s eyes widened. Their hands glowed for a moment, before a barrage of Ki blasts fired from their hands. Toma quickly turned around and started running as fast as he could, most of the barrage landing behind him. The ground crumbled under him, the explosions were deafening. He felt the rock under him rise up from an explosion that had hit near him, and it knocked him off balance. He went bouncing across the ground, before he was hit by a Ki blast. He grunted in pain a he turned around, his arms raised in an X shape, to try and defend himself from the blast. The men kept firing, pelting Toma with all they had, before finally stopping. They were sweating and panting, and they had assumed the Saiyan had died.
“Come on, let’s go. He’s done.” The shorter one of the two spoke, before Toma flew out from the smoke cloud, his hands glowing with powerful blue Ki. The two men, exhausted from wasting all their energy, were too slow to stop Toma’s attack. “Get off my planet!” Toma shouted as he placed one hand on both of the men, firing a ki blast through their chests. The corpses of the men fell to the ground, and Toma wiped his forehead. He was sweating, bleeding, and panting. His clothes were torn and he was tired. But he couldn’t stop yet. His job was not yet done. These people had come here to pillage this planet of its riches, but Toma couldn’t let that happen.
He looked down at the corpses of the men he’d just killed. He felt sorry for them. He would’ve preferred to let them live, but he couldn’t show mercy to these fiends. If he did, they’d just come back for him at a later date, and he simply wanted nothing more than just protecting this planet. If that meant eliminating all of these vile men, then so be it. Toma’s aura of Ki surrounded him once more as he flew off in the direction the other two men had flown.
Toma flew for about 45 minutes before he caught up with one of the men who had escaped earlier. He had stopped and waiting for Toma, apparently, while the last man had flown off to commandeer them a ship to return to their base with. They had been planning on getting another large ship and returning to raid the planet again, but they hadn’t expected Toma to have killed the two previous men, at least not so quickly.
“… They’re dead, aren’t they?” The alien asked plainly. Toma simply nodded. Blood continued to drip from the various cuts and scrapes he had on his body, and onto the planet below. The alien had an angry expression cross his face at Toma’s simple reply. “Bastard!” The man shouted, as he rushed at Toma once more like the others. Toma raised his left arm, blocking the punch that the man threw at him before raising his right leg in a swift motion to kick the mans side.
The alien rasied his left knee to block Toma’s incoming kick, before firing a Ki blast from his palm that smashed against Toma’s abdomen, sending him spiraling backwards. He grunted in pain as he straightened himself in the sky. Another Ki blast flew over the Alien, and Toma looked up to see it coming down ontop of him. It hadn’t been launched by the Alien he had been fighting. The second alien, the one who had gone off to get the ship, had returned. He had decided it would be best to kill the Saiyan before continuing, so as to not be bothered anymore.
Toma rasied his right arm into the sky and fired a blue ki blast of his own to counter the blast that was flying at him. The blasts collided, exploding into a thick fog of smoke. The two Aliens were caught in it, coughing and squinting their eyes in an attempt to see what was going on. They couldn’t see anything.
Toma’s hands moved to his chest. His fingers curled, and his right hand twisted so the palm of his left hand was against the back of his right. “Galick Gun…” He began to speak, as a large puple Ki aura surrounded his body. “FIIIREEEE!” He shouted, pushing his hands forward infront of his body, aimed at one of the men. While they couldn’t see him, he knew where they were due to his Ki sensing ability.
The blast flew through the smoke at the first alien who had attacked Toma. He could take care of the second one later, but he wanted to get this over as quick as he could. The purple blast grew brighter and brighter as it traveled, before becoming visible to the alien. “Son of a bi-“ The alien began to shout before being enveloped by the blast. The Galick Gun exploded moments after making contact with the man, leaving nothing behind. The other alien looked over at where his comrade had been floating, a look of horror and shock crossing his face. This Saiyan, this insignifigant little brat, had killed three of his best men! He was the last one left! This angered the alien, and the mans muscles began to grow as his power level increased dramatically.
The alien rushed at where the blast came from at incredible speed. Toma had never seen anything move that fast. One second, the man was floating, the next, Toma had a fist punching him in the gut. Hard. Toma went flying down to the planet below. He crashed into the ground, pain shooting through his body once more, but this time he was followed. The man flew after him, kneeing him in the face, causing Toma’s body to go deeper into the crust of the planet while he screamed in pain.
The man picked up Toma by his left leg, before throwing him into a nearby cliff face. Toma couldn’t move. He was in so much pain. He could barely think. He opened his eyes, before the man rushed at him and started repeatedly punching him in his stomach and his face. Toma ran out of breath to scream after a while, and the man floated back a little. “I’ll see you in hell.” The man spoke, before pushing his hands forwards and firing a large purple ki blast at Toma, destroying the cliff face and sending Toma flying. Toma was barley conscious when he landed on his back, looking up at the sky. He was bleeding heavily, his shirt completely destroyed by the combo the enemy had just used on him.
Toma didn’t know what to think. That man had just beaten him so easily. What else was there for him to do? He could barley move, yet that man was at full strength. Ugh, how Toma hated 4-on-one fights. Toma cursed himself for not being stronger. For not being able tto protect his family and friends. He looked up at the sky, but then he saw something. The moon was full, even though it was day. It was one of those rare instances where one could see the reflection of the moon before the sun went down.
Toma suddenly felt soothed by the sight of the full moon. He didn’t know why, but he then felt a power surge through his body. His heart rate increased. The hair on his tail stood up on end, and his eyes turned red. His body started to convulse violently, and Toma started to let out deep grunts of pain before moving into a growl.
His teeth began to grow bigger, as fangs formed in his mouth. His muscles grew, ripping through the clothes that confined them, as his body began to expand. His face changed as well, his mouth elongating outwards and his nose taking on a completely different shape. His body began to grow more fur, until it was eventually covered in a thick layer of fur. His feet changed as well, taking on the appearance of hands rather than feet.
Toma had transformed into the great Oozaru! The Saiyan blood within him had come to a boil, and his full power was now at his disposal. Unfortunately, like so many other Saiyans, he couldn’t control it. He waved his hands and feet about wildly, smashing rocks and cliff faces, before feeling a ki blast hit the back of his head. He turned, not even damaged by the blast, to see the man he had been fighting. The man looked scared, of course, as he hadn’t noticed the moon was full.
Toma opened his mouth, and a wave of Ki shot forth from his mouth and flew towards the man. The alien raised his arms and fired a ki blast to try and stop it, but it was too powerful. His ki blast was absorbed by Toma’s, and he was hit dead on. He went flying back into a nearby mountain, that Toma jumped towards. He landed on the mountain, and he began to start punching into it with his large arms. The mountain began to crumble, falling to pieces under the massive force of his punches. The alien he’d been fighting flew out from the destroyed mountain, only to be slapped back down by Toma’s massive tail.
Toma couldn’t control his Oozaru self, but his instincts were guiding him. His rage was overwhelming, he couldn’t think straight, but he knew one thing. This man must die. Toma raised his left leg, and stomped down upon the man he’d been fighting, who screamed out in pain due to the massive force of the Great Ape.
Toma moved his leg back to see the man was barley alive at this point. But the job wasn’t done. Toma let out a loud roar as his mouth began to glow once more, and he looked down. He fired another Ki blast from his mouth one more time, landing directly upon the man once more. The man screamed, and an incredible explosion ensued. Toma even raised his hands to protect his eyes from the blast.
It was done. The fight was over. If Toma hadn’t accidentally transformed into the Great Ape, he’d know this, but his instincts were too strong. He was doing the only thing he knew how to do in this state: destroy. He turned his head, spotting the nearby city that he had just come from. He opened his mouth, and one more Ki blast fired from his mouth, smashing into the city. A large explosion ensued once again, and the entire city disappeared off the face of the planet.
His rampage went on for the rest of the day, and the night. They didn’t stand a chance against the Oozaru. He was finally fulfilling his “programming” that the Saiyans had sent him here to do so many years ago. He killed millions of people that day, ending so many lives. And he wouldn’t even remember. Poor Saiyan.
Eventually, he woke up. His clothes destroyed, the man was butt naked. He looked around at the destruction of the planet. Craters were everywhere, and there was no Ki at all that Toma could feel. There was just nothing. Nothing at all! Toma was devastated. What kind of evil power could’ve done this? The entire population was just… gone! And Toma didn’t remember a thing! Why was he spared?! Why hadn’t he done anything to stop it?!
Toma fell to his knees, tears streaming from his eyes. He let out a primal yell, as loud as he could. He didn’t know what to do. What could he do? He couldn’t stay here. He had to leave. He had to go find another inhabited planet to call home, at least until he could find who did this.
Toma flew back to his home, most of it was still standing, fortunately. He dug through his room to get a change of clothes. Black jeans, a shirt, and he had found his jacket on his flight back. It was wrapped around a flag pole. Then, he went to the Saiyan pod out back. His parents had repaired it for him after they found him, telling him that he might need it one day. He sat inside it. He felt a little cramped, but it was big enough for him, almost as if it had been designed for him. His tail wrapped around his waist and the pod door shut.
Toma scanned the nearby starsystems for any inhabited planets. He came across one, called “Earth”. It had the perfect living conditions for him, and the life forms there were mostly weak. Good… he could live in peace, there. Hopefully he could find out what happened to this planet by talking to the beings there.
The pod rose into the air, before shooting off into the stars once more. The chamber of the pod filled with a sleeping agent. It would be a long flight. Toma took one last look at his planet before he slowly drifted off into unconsciousness.
