”After everything else that had happened in your life up to that point, it sounds like that was both a happy memory and a welcome change of pace,” Nai-Ran commented as she listened to Mimikku speak fondly of Ruto. ”As I said, In Emer’s case it’s all a matter of waiting for the documentation to be processed and delivered back to the office in Satan City. In the meantime, I would like get him into the mindset that he is to be treated as an equal rather than a piece of property to be abused for whatever reason as soon as I possibly can.” Again, from his reaction to ruining a measly wash basin and some extra clothes, she would have her work cut out for her. She wasn’t really sure if there was a specific way that would be best to go about it other than what she had already been doing already. She didn’t exactly have any experience with this sort of thing...
”Actually, the way I understood it, I experienced Emer’s memories as a side effect of having the presence of Alith and Irith within him. Had they not been there it just would have been a standard combining of our blood to signify the purchase of his contract,” she explained, recalling what had happened that day.
Nai-Ran chuckled a bit as Mimikku placed a hand on her shoulder. ”I’m still experimenting with different kinds of food I’ve hunted and gathered to try to find proper substitutes for traditional Ryashi cuisine. I’m a novice when it comes to cooking, and even experienced chefs take time to be able to replicate a dish when they’re still new to the local ingredients. I’ll happily share the methods that I know though.” She then slithered over to her space pod and opening it up, revealing the chilled food that she had packed it with. Between that and the various cooking vessels, tools, and spices that were stacked neatly against the cave wall, Mimikku would have some decent resources to work with. ”Take as long as you would like. If Ninjin decides to take me up on my offer during your stay, it would certainly make your task a bit easier.”
As the Ryashi eagerly waited to get started, she figured she would fill the Kagami in on her plans for tomorrow. She would be staying for a while longer than she first thought. It would be rude to just up and disappear on her the next morning without any explanation. ”By the way, I’m going to be setting out early tomorrow morning for Satan City to pick up some more clothes. I’m not sure exactly when I’ll be back since most human dressing rooms aren’t very accommodating for we Ryashi. Then there’s trying to find a clerk that would be willing to do business with me instead of trying to flee.”
”I apologize for having to depart so soon after inviting you to stay, but it’s something I would like to get out over with right away. Feel free to help yourself to anything in the cave while I’m away. If you are in need of water, all you have to do is head towards Mt. Paozu and you’ll come across a stream on the very edge of the desert,” Nai-Ran informed her guest, motioning towards the distant mountain. With that out of the way, it was time to start exchanging cooking tips and tricks. She kind of wished that she had something to take notes with, but it’s wouldn’t be too difficult to remember if she went through the motions alongside Mimikku.
