Tekuma was sitting in a tree, having recently gotten off her post at the BBA for the day and clocked out. The sun was starting to sink below the horizon, bathing the forest in a deep orange glow. The tree branches surrounding the hybrid were alight with the last dying rays of the sun; and the occupant of that tree branch too enjoyed the fading rays. The nights were hard, but not something the female demon couldn't handle.
There was no intimidating kis for miles, silence in the forest as it seemed to settle down for the night. It would soon fill with the nighttime creatures of the area, but in this twilight there was a silence as the world shifted its balance to that of night. The sky was clear and turning deep blue whilist the horizon remained a varying array of beautiful colors. As the silence continued on, the female hybrid began thinking about why she wasn't affected by the Makyo Star that came out once in a while.
I'm so different compared to other demons.. What would father say if he saw me now? Would my parents be proud of who I've become? I finally got accepted into the Blue Banner Army, it's all I could ever have wanted.. But I know I have to get stronger. Not only to protect myself, but to protect the planet from the menaces that face it. I can't just sit here and do nothing. Father would have wanted me to fulfill my destiny of protecting this world.. I have to. Her red hair, despite its shoulder length, would blow in the breeze that moved the green leaves of the trees surrounding her.

Rafar walked through the shadowed boughs of the pine trees, secretly enjoying the beauty of the moment, though he would never admit it to anyone. He seemed to be softening to this planet, his drive to surpass his allies quieting for brief moments as he watched the Earth’s star set over the lush forests of the blue world he now inhabited. It was almost enough to make him consider trying to actively defend this planet. Almost.
He was not, therefore, pleased when his scouter shattered the still peace of the evening, notifying him of a power level measured at 8003 units. Hopefully it wasn’t someone who would disrupt his evening, though he wouldn’t mind a fight if it was an interesting one.
He would levitate to Tekuma’s level, touching down with a light toc on a nearby branch, staring at the sunset like the human was. He waited for the human to intiate the conversation, if she so wished.

Tekuma watched as the last bits of the sun died, sinking below the horizon and turning the world into a dark, blue-hued area. The leaves turned black like the shadows, the hybrid sighing as the warmth had left her face and the planet's nighttime began to cool the area. The forest stirred to life with nocturnal animals, an owl hooting gently and landing on her shoulder. The female stroked the owl's soft wings, her jade green eyes closed in relaxation.
A power level higher than hers flashed at the back of her mind, a light toc sounding as the Saiyan stood on a nearby branch. Her closed eyes would open, turning to look at Rafar in an indifferent manner. A quick scan revealed no SSE insignia; something she looked for on almost every encountered monkey she'd come across. "Evening.." Her voice was soft, the wind not stirred by the speech of the female. The owl hooted and took off into the sky; leaving the two alone. "What brings you to this area of the forest, perchance?"

Creaks could be heard in the distant parts of the forest as creatures settled in for the night. It was actually rather peaceful and Rafar reclined against the tree trunk as he watched the moon slowly rise over the treetops. “Mostly your power signature, I don’t have much other use for this place other than training.” His tail curled around his waist as he regarded the teenager with an almost contemptuous glance, “It’s peaceful to be sure but beauty isn’t very useful for gaining more power or experience.”

Tekuma turned towards Rafar, her jade green eyes viewing the Saiyan calmly. "There are more uses to the forest than training.. You just need to listen." He regarded her with contempt, to which the hybrid didn't respond in an aggravated manner at all and kept her quiet, level voice. "To reach your true potential, you have to find inner peace. Not only with yourself, but the future and the past. You must truly embrace who you are to attain new levels of strength."
A soft sigh came from the teenager, surprise nonexistent. "Most Saiyans only seek power. They fail to notice in their search for it that if you are greedy, bad things can and will happen to you. You must learn the balance of give and take, in order to grow. What you take, you give to replace the taken things. Listen to the sounds of the forest. Each sound speaks it's own language, a meaning most cannot understand until they become one with the environment."

The human girl spoke about the supposed "calm of the forest" and how it was so much more than a training ground. While some of her point were valid, he didn't agree with the almost religious way she spoke of attaining inner peace, it couldn't possibly be that important. Still.....Retsu constantly surpassed him no matter how hard he trained. Maybe there was something holding back his potential, maybe he had to face some of his inner demons to advance past his current strength. He shook off such thoughts, they were for another time if at all.
"You have good points human, though some of your ideas I have to disagree with out of principle. By the way, what's your name? Mine is Rafar if your wondering." His eyes tracked a owl's flight over the trees as he waited for the human's next words. He wasn't really sure why he found this conversation so engaging, it just was.
