Thread PL:2250 (Suppressed form) Verst had grown bored. He hated doing nothing for days on end. Wandering idly was one of the worst past times in his eyes. However Polara mentioned something about being in the military. That could be a good way of earning money for a new ship, and possibly gain some more strength. Allies too... He needed some new people to work with considering how his last crew went he thought a military group might be a bit more respectful.
He wondered where he might find either this emperor or Polara, he forgot to ask but. If he powered up he might be detected, that seemed to be what caught Polara's attention
He roared as once again Black Spires appeared on the sides of his head and his shoulders. PL: 22500 [True Form Active]

Polara was meditating quietly on a roof of a trading center, the Arcosian silent while observing the noises around her to the power levels in the vicinity. Sensing Verst, the female gave a quiet sigh and proceeded to locate his ki and attempt to determine his mood. It seemed bored, which to her was not good as last time he had harassed a shabby stall run by a spider and a saibaman.
Regardless, it was her duty to make sure the economy ran smoothly, yet the woman had yet to stretch her legs in a true fight. It made her wary, hovering up before letting her feet touch the roof. Silence ensued for a fraction of time before the commander hovered towards the ki.
He had better not be causing any problems or planning on it. A fight would be nice, but I do not fight without good reason. There is no need to fight upon this meeting, hopefully. I can see him from here; let us see what happens. The biped lizard stays silent, crossing her legs once more atop a nearby roof; proceeding to watch the Chaos maker to make sure nothing was to happen.
Suspicions confirmed as the male transformed, she proceeded to immediately take action and descended into the scene without a second thought, not powering up into Brute Form. "Stand down, or you will get hurt."
Verst upon noticing Polara approaching once again resumed his suppressed form the black horns making a quick retreat into Verst's body. Well his plan had worked... But now he had to figure out how to convince this Commander to let him join her army. He was good at convincing people but they tended to be gullible, and Polara well he didn't want to assume but he guessed she would be stronger than him. Possibly smarter too. [Suppressed form:2250]
"Sorry about that incident with the saibaman..." He said in a solemn tone. "I just wanted to talk, i didn't know how to contact you, so hence the horns." Verst looked at the ground "So i'm just going to come straight out with it, i'd like to join the Arcosian Empire, I can't stand just doing nothing." Determination rung out with his voice.

Polara watched as Verst simply powered back down, folding her arms as the other Arcosian began to speak. The apology she was not sure was sincere, since his departure previously had been, as earthlings called it, salty. A frown still remained on her face as she gazed at the male; not believing him all too well as she had yet to see him do something to imply he was trustworthy.
The colorful Arcosian spoke of joining the army; to which she replied almost immediately after he finished speaking. "You have yet to prove you would be a worthy asset to the military, as my impression of you is a quite unruly individual. You must be sharp, strong, and fast. You must use the brain you have, which I have yet to see you do. If you cannot sense ki, learn it to find me in the future."
Her voice was quite harsh, lips tightened when not speaking as her tail flicked slightly behind her. "I would not tolerate the incompetence you show; neither would Lord Abzerute. Perhaps if you became more worthwhile in the future I may reconsider, unless you wish to prove yourself now, somehow."
"Incompetance?" Verst let out a single hearty laugh. "My name's Verst, the Raider perhaps I've slipped under your raider but i've never failed a mission. 48 Completed raids and i don't plan to ruin that reputation." Verst spoke truthfully even if he was bragging. Verst rested his arms behind his back, and puffed his chest out in a hope to gain some control of the situation. "Fast, I can do." Verst finished his sentence and appeared behind Polara (Afterimage) the previous form of Verst faded as light caught up with his position.
"I only had a minor mishap with some idiotic stall attendees, doesn't mean that i can't be useful. When i want to be anyway." Verst said with a mocking tone, he truly despised when the weak felt the need to prove themselves strong. It was one of his more favored hobbies to put them back in there place.

Polara kept her arms crossed as Verst let out a cocky, hearty laugh. If anything; she believed him to be a brute with no brains, thus slightly frustrating her. "Do not try to pass yourself off to me like this. You make yourself look more and more of an idiot, and you do not dare mock me. My power is far greater than yours, I could hurt you badly."
The female continued to speak with her tone getting harsher, eyes narrowed as she turned to face Verst. "I have been in the military for about 60 years. I know what I am talking about, do not make yourself such a fool. Military requires the ability of precision skills, tactics, and power. You lack the all requirements, and I cannot consider you if you lack these crucial abilities."
The biped feminine lizard was a bit harsh, for a good reason. Military had hardened the black and white Arcosian, her cyan eyes blank as she gazed at Verst. He seemed like a mere joke, something disappointing and a waste of time to begin with.
"How can i prove to you i'm worth you and your lord's time? Power is not all it takes to hurt someone though is it?" Verst asked inquisitively "There's no way i can demonstrate skills and tactics to you, especially without my fleet." Verst grumbled under his breath still angry about the loss. He crossed his arms defensively, he was clearly losing this debate, he needed to know what she wanted before he could demonstrate.
"I'm almost a master of underhanded tactics at this point, but open warfare I've yet to come across. Arcose was the closest I got, and then i left. A tactical retreat I suppose." He recalled his journey among the refugees. One of the low points of his life, yet he could climb his way back out of obscurity maybe using the army as a stepping stone, or maybe a more permanent place.

Polara gave a soft sigh as Verst spoke again, not getting what she was saying. "It is also a balance of honor and respect. You chose to seek me out by powering up, rather than cause chaos. I respect this, as you do have some honor in your bones. However, if I were to consider you it is not without consulting Lord Abzerute to see if you join."
The Arcosian gave the other a look, she still thought him stupid but the init frustration was wearing off as he seemed to truly want to be a part of the military. Not only did he look for her peacefully, he was still here after her tests. "If you truly wish to join, you must prove yourself in a fight against me. Now, do you wish to undertake this task?"
"Why confirm something you already know? You'll beat me, even if you stay in your base form i'd have a difficult time." Verst said prematurely admitting defeat. Either he beat her with his true form or lost to hers. There was no way this would end in a draw. But he might need to prove himself in combat. "All it takes is for you to power up and flick your finger and i'd be in that wall, catatonic." He indicate the wall behind him with a nod of his head.
He held his arms out accepting whatever Polara chose to do.

Polara narrowed her eyes further as Verst seemed to chicken out, her tone harshening once more. This was the part of her that got irritated; it was rare she got irritated to the point of pinching the bridge of her nose. "I offered you a chance to prove yourself, so I could take the case to Lord Abzerute if you proved worthy. But here you stand, cowardly trying to get out of the situation YOU put yourself in."
Irritation radiated from the feminine Arcosian, annoyed greatly by Verst. If the male was to be cowardly the woman had a very hard time believing that he was a successful raided multiple times and was successful; to her he seemed like a coward.
"You offered me a chance to be destroyed by someone who 'has been in the military for 60 years.' That's not a chance that's a sacrifice. I'm willing to take whatever you throw at me but i can't hurt you. A good soldier knows when to engage a fight right? I'm unable to win so i'm minimizing losses." Verst said with a determination. He didn't understand why Polara wanted to fight him when she would win.
"SO HIT ME ALREADY!" He closed his eyes and braced for a hit, a blast. Anything, he just hoped it wouldn't hurt too much tomorrow.

Polara, out of irritation, covered her fist in navy blue ki energy and sent it for a direct uppercut in a blitz of speed. She'd had enough of Verst, there was NO way in her opinion he would be an asset to the military. A few seconds before her strike hopefully hit, her voice whispered coldly. "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger."
If the powerful uppercut hit, it would hopefully result in him going flying into the wall, and Polara turning her back before disappearing into the crowd of Friezaton. She was still irritated; so much so she needed to burn off steam in Abzerute's gravity chamber.
As she spoke her last words, he had gotten what he wanted. Baiting his enemies was a specialty, luckily this one fell for it. Now he had a way in. Going over her head might be a possibi... Then the hit landed. The pain shot through his systems setting his receptors on fire. This most definitely hurt but he'd live. His legs swung out from under him as the momentum of the swing flew him back into the wall he'd previously indicated.
The wall cracked as did his back. Ow... That was his last thought before he crumpled out of the wall collapsing onto the floor.
