How many tournaments had this been now? Kiba had lost count but her Father sure hadn't. For Kiba, This was another chance to make her Father proud of her, for him it was another chance for her to fail him. For 12 years now Kiba Dainichi had lived under the 'scrutiny' of her Father. 14 hour training days and little rest all combined with harsh lessons? For her Father, She was his 'Pride and Joy' as he put it at times and at others, she was considered a useless pile of trash. Kiba tried doing everything she could to make her Father proud of her however despite how much or how often he made her feel worthless. It was almost completely due to fear of her Father, Fear of not making him proud? No, not even close. It was the fear of being beaten that kept her obedient towards him. For every loss in a tournament he'd beat her more and more when it was finished. For every day she had to spend recovering, she'd have to train that much harder. For every day she didn't train, it was another day she wasn't allowed to sleep. For 12 years that's all she had known, it was her life and she had come to more than accept it. Her father said that she had to train instead of go to school because it'd give her a better life. This was how he was raised and so she shouldn't be treated any different just because she's a girl. Her mother taught her while she ate and if she wasn't eating or training she was resting for more training. She was required to do 14 hours of some of the harshest and strictest training that anyone had ever done. Heavy weights on every limb, ruthless attacks from all sides and what some might see as one of the hardest fighting styles to Master, Muay Thai.
But now it was another Tournament and it was time for her to prove to her Father once again she wasn't a failure. When they arrived at the Tournament Grounds, She left the car and began heading with her Father to the lockers where she would shower, get changed and start preparing for her first fight. Kiba was the first match, and the first one into the ring. Her Father accompanied her with a small stereo which, after he placed it down, he pressed the play button and it began to tune out some soft rhythmical tunes. Kiba herself sat facing east and began to bow three times and on the third bow, held it. For most everyone here, they didn't know what she was doing however to Kiba and her Father, this was something that was always done before a fight and was known as Wai Kru. After about a minute, Kiba rose from her bow and bowed another three times after which she began to do what seemed like some sort of dance, specific to her family towards the end of which she began moving towards each of the sides of the ring. She was showing her respect and as such, made sure that when the time would come and her opponent emerged she would bow to him as well. Until then however, it was time for her to warm up and finish her preparation. The basics of Muay Thai conditioning was that the entire body was loose as a stiff body cannot react or move at the speed that Muay Thai requires for the best performance. She began first with her wrists, 'flopping' her hands around some and pulling on her hands slightly to start loosening them up. Afterwards, she started moving her arms in circles, extending her arms out fully and making the circles as wide as possible and going in both directions. After a few of these, she placed her hands on her shoulders and repeated it though with smaller circles now followed by pressing one hand to the shoulder and repeating once more and doing that for both sides, trying to get her joints as loose as she could without popping them out of place.
Then she moved to her elbows, manipulating them with the opposite hand and working them until the joints were loosened to a good point. At the same time, she twirled her head on her neck making sure to keep her eyes open and going in both directions as she continued her prep work. Placing her hands on her jaw bone, she began to loosen that as well before placing her hands on her hips and loosening that up as well by spinning her hips in circles almost as though she were playing with a hula hoop. Next she bent over to touch her toes several times, working to now loosen both her back and hamstrings at the same time, Kiba did this a few times before crossing her legs and repeating this process several more times before reversing and crossing the other leg and doing it again. After that, she did the same thing with her legs as she did her shoulders and with both legs. The next part was her ankles, lifting her leg and spinning her foot around for a bit before putting it against the ground and doing the same, then repeating for the other foot as well. Next, and the most important part for Muay Thai kicks, was her knees. Grabbing them with her hands, she went back and forth with them for a bit before spinning those in circles as well, she had to make sure that all of her joints were loose before the match since stiff joints made it more difficult to move around and fight. Spreading her legs next, she began to bend over once more and touch the ground for a bit before reaching above her head and grabbing either of her wrists and bending to each side one at a time. Sitting down now, She grabbed her toes and began to bend forward a bit, stretching the back of her knees and hamstrings some more. Turning over now, she began to stretch the small of her back, moving first her right knee forward before her left knee and holding for a few moments before finally standing.
With that all done, her prep work for her joints had finished however, she still had plenty of time before the match started and right now, it was time to warm up the body. Each one of these next few exercises she spent about five minutes on, starting with jumping jacks and then starting to bring her knees up as high as she could and making circles as she did so. She began to run in place for the next part before placing her hands against her butt and starting to 'kick' them. After that, she began to hop on her toes from side to side this all being things that were taught, or rather drilled, into her head from an early age, things that she had to do before her fight to warm herself and her body up for the fight. After that, she began to do some squat jumps, moving down so that her knees were bent as far as they would go before jumping in place on her toes. Next she began to stretch out for a moment before jumping as high as she could and touching her toes, something even to this day she struggled with due to the sheer difficulty of it but she managed, thankfully, without any fuck-ups this time. It was getting close to her match by now however, She'd spent the better part of an hour warming up and prepping herself in the ring and it was only about 20 minutes now until her match began and she could already see the seats starting to fill up with spectators but none as important as her Father who would be watching from the entry way to the ring itself. Out of the bag, her father pulled a jump rope and tossed it at her. The music was still going as she began to do various styles of jump rope, all still working towards warming up her muscles and she did this probably for the next 15 minutes or so before the music finally stopped on its own.
"Only level 1"
That was all her Father had told her before he took the stereo and the jump rope and began to leave the stage as her opponent began entering. Kiba sighed softly, bowing to her opponent. She spent the next 5 minutes before the match shadow boxing, never going as fast as she would be going in the fight itself. But, after almost an hour and a half, it was time to for the first fight of 31 total fights and with luck, she'd be the Champion and just maybe her Father would be proud of her. This was her first tournament that would go on for so long and hopefully it would go fast. If she made it to the finals, that was 4 fights at least with the final round being the 5th one. But that was far into the hopeful future and right now it was fighting time.
As her opponent came at her, she kept her hands up and eyes focused. She kept on her toes as she moved around the arena, dodging and blocking blow after blow as she read her opponent’s moves. Each blow gave her more information as it came in, a right jab quickly followed by a left one would cause her to first shove the right jab down with her right hand and the left quick but powerful jab came with a fast duck, Her hand coming forward fast and slamming right into the man’s gut as a small surge of ki erupted from the point of contact and the man was sent flying out of the ring and into the wall of the stadium. She didn't jump for joy, Kiba didn't celebrate. It was the first of 5 and it was too easy for it to be worth celebrating as the announcer proclaimed Kiba the winner and she moved off the stage. She hoped that the next fight would be more interesting since that guy went down faster than she did when she was starting. As she left, the medics came out to both pull the man from the wall, But to also bring him to the emergency room. Most humans were weak really... Kibas training and the techniques she had developed made her far stronger than the average human, even if they studied Muay Thai as well. She returned to the locker room where her Father was waiting and immediately they began training for the next round which hopefully would be more interesting.
It took about another two hours before it was her turn to fight again and the entire time her and her Father were sparing against each other to keep her on her toes. She went out and bowed to her opponent but was caught as his hand slammed into her jaw hard, catching her off guard and sending her flying to the edge of the ring, her head just barely avoiding the ground. She pressed her hands against the ground and flipped forward, pushing herself back up just as the man got to her again but this time she raised her right arm quickly to block the blow before slamming her fist hard into the males chest, another ki burst erupted and sent the man backwards but nowhere near as hard as the man before him. She wiped the small sliver of blood that came from her lips with her hand as she slowly made her way towards the man. Strafing in circles around him as she pulled backwards at each of his punches, Keeping her arms up and moving them swiftly to block a kick. He got several good jabs in however, making her lower her guard to block one attack before pulling another from the opposite side. It was about 2 minutes into the match and already Kiba had a bruise almost all over her upper body from the kicks and jabs that had gotten through. Finally, however, she got knocked to the ground and the male moved over her and as she raised her arms in a defense, He began to wail down at her arms. Kiba held her defense though and when the man moved his arm up to try and finally break through, she brought her knee up from behind and slammed right into the man’s back, Sending him flying off her and allowing her to get up. The male stopped right at the edge of the arena however Kiba seemed to be the only one panting right now. Her arms were sore from the beating they'd just taken and she wasn't sure how much longer she could go before they'd just give out. She knew her Father wasn't going to let her rest between fights as that simply wasn't his way. In the last 12 years he'd never once let her so why would he start now? The man charged back in at her and she moved to the left, chopping down on his arm and bringing her left leg up, hooking onto the man’s neck she brought herself up and around, lifting the male off his feet. She grabbed his right arm as she spun herself around, causing the man to shift off his feet and spin around before she dropped her right foot, unhooked his neck brought him around as her left leg came back up and slammed hard into the man’s face and sending him slamming down into the ground. Kiba brought her foot up and moved to slam it down hard into the male’s chest and slammed it hard into the male’s chest. She wiped off the blood from her face as she began to walk away and she was, once again, proclaimed the winner. She did her best not to show the exhaustion or pain that wracked her body as she viewed it as a weakness that she knew her Father wouldn't accept.
With the second fight won however, her father was smiling at her. Did he know something she didn't? Maybe, maybe not. He allowed her, however, a brief reprieve. She hadn't eaten in several hours and she was getting hungry so thankfully her Father let her break to eat which also gave her arms and legs time to recover. Her next fight, however, was going to be harder. He had won this tournament last time and his first two opponents were in critical condition… This gave Kiba a reason to be nervous about it but despite this she knew what she had to do in order to make her Father proud. Once she had finished eating it was already nearly time for her next fight, she got up and began to head towards the Arena, Her Father giving her some tips as to how to beat this guy and as she was headed down the center row to get to the stage her Father yelled something.
"Use it "
This made Kiba freeze for a moment as she turned back around. She didn’t expect to be allowed to use THAT so early, she figured that her Father would make her wait until the finals to use it but no, she was told to use THAT in this fight. Her Father nodded to her with a wide smirk and she nodded. Kiba turned back to the stage and continued on, her opponent already standing there. He stood almost 6’6 and was built like a tank, how the fuck was she supposed to beat THAT!? She shook her limbs loose as they bowed to each other and took a few steps back. He had a much longer reach than she did and if he was as strong as he was made out to be, he was probably fast on his feet too. This presented a problem for her, if they were big they had to be slow… but if they were fast at the same time? She’d never fought someone like this before. But, the round commenced and she brought her arms up to protect her face as she danced around the man, waiting to find an opening but there wasn’t one. This man knew how to fight; he had every part of himself covered. However, there had to be a weak spot she just needed to find it. She moved forward towards him, keeping herself covered at all times until she knew she could land something. But, as soon as she got within his range she felt a sharp crack to her side and her eyes went wide as she was sent into the ground. She was already coughing out blood and her Father’s eyes went wide for a moment as he looked on at how fast she went down.
"Get up!"
He muttered under his breath. The man backed away, already starting to leave figuring she was done for but Kiba forced herself back onto her feet slowly. She wiped away the blood and charged the man, she leapt upwards, coming down and slamming her foot right into the side of the man’s neck with her full force. As the blow connected, there was a loud “boom” the echoed through the stadium as the man was sent flying to the edge of the arena and staying on with his mere toes. Kiba landed on her feet, panting heavily as she kept her eyes on the monster of a man who pulled himself back into the arena simply with his toes. Kiba kept her arms up, her back was aching and screaming at her and that was from just one blow. This man had been sent all the way to the edge of the arena and not only did it look like he took barely any damage, but he had also pulled himself BACK in with just his toes! How?! Kiba remained focused however; she couldn’t let little things like this distract her especially against this man. Her first fight had been cake, the second was a little more challenging and this one was certainly life or death. Kiba watched as the man began his approach again and she began to move away from the edge of the arena. She shook herself loose again as she watched, this time as he got in close and swung, she side stepped it and brought her leg up and another shockwave erupted from the contact and the man was once again sent to the edge of the arena, but once more he pulled himself back in with his toes. If she didn’t know any better, she’d say this man was an Android of some kind. He never flinched when he was hit and his feet never left the arena’s stage. That’s when she decided it was time for an all-out offense to bring this thing down as fast as she could. He was still at the edge which meant all she needed to do was hit him once more and he’d be out. She moved forward quickly, jumping into the air and bringing her foot down as hard and fast as she could, connecting with his shoulder and sending another shockwave erupting out except… This time he didn’t even move, Kiba’s eyes went wide as the man simply stood there, completely ignorant of her attack. He grabbed her leg which caused Kiba to get even more worried as she was spun around and slammed down into the arena stage, causing her body to bounce back up as she coughed out more blood. Her leg wasn’t released however and she felt herself brought back up and slammed right back down. The man released her and began walking away again, Kiba struggling past the pain as she flipped herself back over and coughed out some more blood and pulled herself from the small dent in the arena that had been created. Slowly rising back to her feet she was panting heavily as she looked over at the man.
”I’m not done!”
She snapped at the man as she winced in pain, the man turned around slowly to look over at her and see just how much pain she was in and despite all that, she was still fighting on.
”Fine, if you wish for death I shall give it to you”
That was all he said before charging back at her and she brought herself back to her readied stance. Preparing for his attack just as it clashed with her, her feet planting into the ground and keeping her from even moving which caused the man to raise an eyebrow before her leg came up, smashing into his ribs as hard as she possibly could and for the first time the man’s eyes went wide as she was sent to the edge of the arena and this time had to pull himself back quickly as he nearly lost his balance. But as his head turned up Kiba was right in front of him, her leg smashing into the side of his head hard and sending him to the very corner of the arena. Kiba wasn’t going to relent however and kept charging him. When he looked up this time, her leg came upwards at full force to his jaw, sending out a loud *BOOM* like a shotgun going off and a shockwave that not only knocked him backwards, but the force of her kick sent him flying upwards and sending him out of the arena completely. Kiba maintained that position with her leg held high as she panted heavily and slowly brought her leg down. In a stunning shock the announcer stuttered that she was the victor as she began to limp away.
Her father met her at the exit, when she saw him smiling she couldn’t help but smile herself. He only smiled at her when he was proud of her. To see that he was proud of her made her the happiest person in the world to her; she followed him back to the locker room. Thankfully that was the last match for her for the day so she’d get the chance to hopefully rest after that beating. As they left the arena and got in the car her Father praised her for her fight and they began to drive off to the hotel that was already booked for the Fighters. The rest of the night went pretty uneventful for her, they got room service and her Father went to work researching who her next opponent would be… or rather, opponents. Specifically there would be 2 people in the next match that she’d have to fight against. Her Father filled her in and told her that they were a tag team setup however if one got knocked out the match was over which made it sound easier but in reality it’d be harder since they’d both be protecting the other that much was certain. Kiba went to sleep early, almost immediately after she was done eating in fact. In the morning they returned to the training grounds and she began her prep work once more to loosen her joints as did her two opponents. They both looked fast but not strong which meant they relied on their speed rather than their strength however thankfully Kiba herself was fast on her feet as well; hopefully faster. When her warm-up and prep work was done there was another 5 minutes left and she spent this time listening to her Fathers words and how he told her to handle this situation. He told her to hold nothing back, go at them with full force. She nodded as he walked away and she took her position, bowing to both of them. As she moved to her spot on the arena she kept her eyes on both of them, trying to find a weak spot that one of them had. She had to put everything she learned to good use here, having to pay attention to one person up close is one thing, having to keep an eye on two people at the same time was an even bigger challenge that she’d never before had to actually do. Kiba, however, had a smile on her face. She already knew how she’d handle this fight even if they both came at her at the same time. She took her ready stance as the match started and didn’t move a single inch, her eyes swapping between the two girls as they made their advance. One of them vanished and she already knew what was going to happen, if they relied on speed that means only one logical move. As the one in front of her approached she did a huge back flip into the air and as she turned she saw both of them underneath her just as she expected. Her entire body began to glow brightly as she came down and slammed her fist into the ground, sending out a large shockwave and a loud *BOOM* like the shotgun from the day before, Sending both of the women flying to opposite edges of the arena. Kiba stood with a smirk on her face as she took another, more defensive, stance. She kept her eyes on both of the girls as they stood and came at her again. She started blocking blow after blow before one, or rather two, one from each of them managed to connect and sent her flying backwards. She slammed her foot into the stone arena and launched herself forward, Spinning and sending her leg hard into the women on the right’s chest to send her flying before coming low to trip the other and as she rose she slammed her fist into the girls chest. She didn’t stop there however; she slammed her foot once more into the ground to launch herself forward, another shockwave coming from the ground as she rocketed forward and began to launch another assault on the girls. First hitting the first women low in the stomach to knock her into the air; then sending a second punch to the girls head to launch her further up; launching herself into the air and bringing her leg around and slamming hard into the girls’ chest and sending her crashing back into the arena. As she came down the other girl was readying herself as Kiba’s leg rose then came crushing down on the girls shoulder with full force, pushing the girl into the ground and shattering her left arm. Kiba moved back now, shaking her limbs free once more. So why had her style changed from before? She was told not to hold back.
She hoped she didn’t kill them but had a feeling that at the very least this was probably over. Neither of them were moving or trying to get up but she wasn’t going to let up her guard. She danced on her toes back and forth as she waited and eventually they began to get back up which triggered Kiba to attack again. She launched herself forward and sent her right hand into the women on the right’s ribs and sent her flying out of the ring, cracking several ribs at the same time before she came with a roundhouse to the side of the others head and not only sent her crashing into the ground but caused her to bounce off the ground and right out of the arena. Kiba sighed softly, She was in the finally in the finals and hopefully the last fight would be more difficult. She knew this wasn’t going to be hard when she was told not to hold back but she was hoping they’d prove to be a bigger challenge than this. Regardless, the match was over; ending with both of them being rung out. Kiba looked over to her Father who was smiling at her and she ran back over to him to be praised almost like a dog wanting to be petted by its owner. It truly was amazing how trained she was in comparison to the rest of society. She went back to the locker room to begin practicing more with her Father before her final match; she made a note to watch the monitor as well to watch how her opponents fought each other to get an idea of how she was going to fight them and unsurprisingly the winner was last year’s tournament champion and he looked dangerous. When her time to ‘shine’ so to speak came, she made her entrance and her opponent was already standing there. The male couldn’t have weighed anymore than she did and he looked almost as young as she was. She bowed to him and couldn’t help but notice the stance he took was also Muay Thai, which meant he probably knew everything she did if not more. The start wasn’t delayed like most others were and the moment the match started he was launching himself into an attack, forcing her backwards as she pushed aside his blows and blocked the kicks until she felt her foot start sliding off the edge of the arena and forced herself to keep still as he kept on wailing. He was faster than she was in terms of his attacks but they didn’t have any power behind them. She grabbed his next kick, shoving it down and spinning into a kick of her own to send him away from her as she moved quickly away from the edge of the arena and kept her eye on him. They were both dancing on the balls of their feet proving that he did, at the very least, know the basics. Her adrenaline was already pumping as he attacked again, This time she lead him in a circle however as she kept her eye on his attacks that came almost as fast as she could block if not slightly faster.
Each time he got closer and closer to hitting her until she started feeling the wind move past her as the attack was blocked; he was getting too close for comfort. She caught her Father’s gaze just past the male as she blocked another kick and knew he wasn’t very happy that she wasn’t doing anything yet. She ducked down under the next high kick, bringing her fist forward to slam into the man’s stomach. He tensed up to absorb the blow before bringing his elbow down to hit her back. She winced and dropped to her knee and he raised his knee up to hit her chin and send her onto her back. However, instead of taking this advantage he stopped and… helped her up? Now there’s something you never saw during a tournament. But, her Father’s 12 years of training told her that he was up to something even if he wasn’t and this was one of the flaws in his training. She’d never been shown kindness when she fell or failed. She took the hand, however instead of lifting herself up completely; she got to her feet and swung the man around before bringing her leg up and slamming it into the back of his head. She backed up some and was panting some as her opponent got up rubbing the back of his head and frowning at her but she didn’t care… He had to of been up to something, this was a tournament what was the point in nicety in the ring? This was about winning, nothing else. That’s all life was about, winning at all costs. He came at her again though and she brought her hand back before sending it forward, slamming into his face hard and sending both a shockwave out and him backwards. She came hard forward, launching her the same way as before. She sent one fist into his stomach before another to the head, grabbing his arm and pulling him around before bringing her leg up once more and slamming it into his face and sending him into the ground. She brought her fist up before bringing it down hard into the man’s chest causing him to spurt out blood. She pulled back and hopped back some before looking over to her Father who… had his thumb down. It meant she wasn’t finished.
Kiba didn’t like to kill and she could tell this man was already finished but… Her Daddy wouldn’t be proud of her if she stopped now. She jumped into the air and brought her palm down, Smashing into the man’s chest hard. She could feel his ribs shattering underneath the force as his eyes went wide and she brought her other fist up, Bringing it down fast and hard on the man’s chest once more but felt her arm grabbed by the man and felt a strong kick to the back of the head which sent her flying and she had to use everything she could not to slide right out the other side of the arena. She looked up and saw the man starting to get back up before eating something and everything she’d done seemed to reverse itself. There was an outrage as the spectators watched him and as the announcer was about to speak, Kiba launched forward. Usage of items during a match was prohibited and this man had just violated that and she wasn’t about to stand for it. A bright glow came about her as she launched herself into a flurry of attacks. Her speed had dramatically increased and even her Father had to adjust himself to get a better view as Kiba’s enraged latent power triggered and shockwave after shockwave, boom after boom erupted forth. The man was sent flying into the air and Kiba soon followed him, Unleashing another flurry of blows before her leg came sweeping around and slammed the man right back into the ground technically ringing him out however Kiba continued, Coming down with full force as her fist slammed into the man’s chest. But she wasn’t finished there, her flurry of attacks kept coming and not only did her Father rush out, but as too did some of the security guards and it wasn’t until her Father got there that they managed to pry her off of the male and she had almost went off on them until she heard her Father call out to her.
"KIBA! THAT’S ENOUGH!"
Kiba’s fist stopped just short of one of the guards and she looked over. Her Father gave her a stern look as he came over to her and pulled her away. The announcer came out and proclaimed that there would be a hold on the winner being announced as the medics rushed out to try and treat the man and Kiba was pulled away from the arena and back into the lockers. Her Father began to talk to her about her behavior as they waited for the results but eventually after about 2 hours of delaying she was called back out and crowned as the victor. It was later revealed that she had crushed the man’s chest so badly she’d killed him on the spot and for her that was the first time she’d ever killed anyone.
