“…But I would say the regret of what you left in the hands of others is a bigger problem than the demons themselves,” Namorel finished. Those words were something else. They made Endivia question her reasons for leaving her home behind. Was there ever any ounce of regret in her heart about abandoning her place of birth, her family, and her people? To be completely honest with herself, those thoughts had never really crossed the musician’s mind. It was not as if she was homesick – her parents were just as arrogant and battle-obsessed as any other Saiyan. Besides, there was a lot more in Earth’s favour than Vegeta’s when it came to aesthetics.
“That’s just it,” Chicory spoke softly: “I didn’t leave anything behind to regret.” If I were to leave Earth now, then I really would have regrets about what I’d be leaving behind… Musing to herself, the Saiyaness allowed the silence to encroach once more upon them. That deafening haze of uncertainty, where only the melodies of the gentle winds seemed to dare to whisper, was ill-desired. This quietness was a void which she felt she needed to fill, in order to be fulfilled, and that sense of passionate necessity was what had been instilled within her soul from a young age. She smiled.
“You came here to escape something. I came here to find something. But, I guess we’re not too different all things considered. I wish people would look at others for who they are, not what they are,” Endivia stated, absent and philosophical. In truth, she was being abnormally vocal about what was bothering her – the fact that people still weren’t fully accepting of her due to her nature as a Saiyan. How many people on Earth still held a grudge against her race, just because of the Solar Empire’s attack?
Fear, as she had seen, was a driving force of the weak. It was also what made people strong. But the average strength of the general populace, even when backed by that instinctual hidden potential, was still pitiful compared to the most frightening forces in the cosmos. A half-dozen scared humans trying to act tough were still no match for a Saiyan of her calibre. But, she considered passively, what about a Namekian?
The thought dominated her mind.
“Oi, Nam’,” the entertainer began, lazily cutting the alien’s name short, “why don’t you fight against your inner demons…?”

"Yeah... I can imagine interactions with these humans is just as difficult for you as it is for me... they seem very wary of aliens like us."
Namorel replied to the saiyanesses open philosophy about acceptance. He had faced indirect disputation over his residency on this planet, with the glares and travelling eyes of the native Terran population that happened to call Earth their home long before Namorel stepped foot unto the landscape of the planet. Even though he had only been here less than a week he had more than his fair share of humans watching him. It was almost as if he were a circus attraction, meant to draw in the children so they may laugh or ridicule the difference in his appearance over theirs, it was one of the reasons he reserved his time to the mountains rather than to the cities or towns and that's not to mention the noisy machines these humans found a necessity in using for their day to day lives, especially the machine they used to travel from one place to another rather quickly.
"As far as fighting my demons go... they all happen to be long dead or too close to me to be a real threat."
Namorel spoke, clenching his fist in remembrance to his father, as for the other namekians... fighting them would serve him no benefit nor purpose and would label him a traitor to his own people, and that was the least of what he wanted. Rather he wanted to 'scare off' these demons with the potential he could drive from his new position on Earth... a chance to live up to the creed he had taken after his father's passing. Still, he had shown little to no success here and rather was worried on whether or not he would ever get the chance to show himself what he was sure he was capable of if he tried his hardest.

“Too close to be a real threat…?” Pondering the meanings of Namorel’s odd statement, Chicory rhythmically tapped her nail against Tohnari’s body. A normal person – in particular a normal Saiyan – might have questioned the wordings of such an expression. However, the musician was more concerned about the actual meaning than poking holes. Sure, it might have seemed strange to considering that the closer an enemy was, the less of a thread it became, but there was another expression – a human one that was very similar. ‘Keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer,’ was how it went.
How lyrical.
“Ugh! I’m tired of trying to fit in – trying to be ‘normal’,” the Saiyaness stressed, more to herself than the Namekian who just happened to be close enough to hear her pleas. “I’m driving myself crazy thinking about all these things too much, I guess. I’ve been searching for something all my life, and that’s recognition for my talent – something no other Saiyan seems to care about. I don’t fit in on Vegeta, I don’t fit in on Earth, so I-”
Endivia cut herself off. Dark eyes widened, her tail quivered as if she’d just been stricken by lightning. That bolt from the blue’s name was inspiration, and Namorel (whether he was aware of it or not) had provided her the board to bounce off. All of her thoughts were rolling together, he spoken words bouncing about within her skull and finding new order in amongst the organised chaos of muse. She smiled. She chuckled. She laughed out loud. All of the insults and the fear directed towards her in the past seemed to lose their negative connotations, instead becoming building blocks that meshed together into a brand new form, and it was bizarre.
All this time I’ve been playing my guitar, she thought, breaking from her place amongst the tranquil skies and putting some distance between herself and her Namekian associate. As enthused as she was, she still had to accommodate for her lone audience member’s tastes when it came to volume. Whether or not he’d like what was about to happen was entirely beyond her, but the dark-haired damsel wasn’t letting that interfere with this sudden surge.
Tohnari’s melodies are nice, but maybe it needs some accompaniment… After adjusting the instruments tuning, the frenzied femme raised her free hand, ready to play. She took a deep breath, steadying her lungs after her brief but strong bought of laughter, and closed her eyes. In the darkness her eyes now looked into, music composed itself, as too did an audience. Namorel – the man in green – found his mental imprint surrounded by ghosts of the past and the present, from Saiyajin to Human to Zoanthrope and more. They were the phantoms of people who had called her out for her origins, and the beacons of hope and wisdom she had found in her travels.

”Fitting in would be ni-”
Namorel began to respond to the saiyaness, whether she wanted it or not, but his words were cut off when she moved back, at first he considered the possibility that this was an act of social retaliation, but gave her the benefit of the doubt on this, unaware that she was going to begin playing the instrument and gave the distance as a sort of buffer for Namorel’s tone sensitivity. It didn’t take long for him to notice she was altering something on the instrument in her hands and realized the purpose of her movement.
THe music was of its own curious variety, even though he was not used to the music of the universe he felt some sort of proverbial resonance in the tone of this song, he couldn’t pinpoint the feeling… almost solemn or sorrowing, but he did not want to jump to conclusions of the matter. The notes were a wonder… without the pain of before he could listen to the notes of this compendium and acknowledge the power behind them.

“Hah… Hah… Whew,” she panted, bringing the music to a halt as its waning tones spilled into the tranquillity of her surroundings. It startled her, really. The power of her song had not been through volume, but through something else – Endivia’s emotions. The rhythms of her composure, of her soul, were not an unknown quantity. Rather, the Saiyajin had long since discovered just how great a difference there was between a song whose chords brimmed with emotion and meaning, and a tune without such things. Each had their own charm, but it was clear which won the contest.
Her hand aquiver, her forehead damp with sweat which glued loose bangs of black to her skin, there was no denying that the energy of Chicory’s performance still quaked and roiled within her body like a storm. The usual fighting rage of her race rarely manifested, the musician having an uncanny control over such things thanks to the power of music – why had it not crossed her mind before to use that power? Strumming soothing melodies upon strings was all well and good when she was upset, enraged or otherwise frustrated, but keeping those emotions bottled up or pushed to the side did not rid her of her problems.
There would always be ghosts and phantoms – inner demons to plague her state of mind. Perhaps in her Oozaru state, the beast within acted violently not just out of pure primal rage, but also reflected her own torments? It was a thought she had dared not to entertain in the past, but it made sense. Indeed, she frowned at the idea, but that displeasure soon turned into a soft smile again as she considered further possibilities. The saying ‘music soothes the savage beast’ came to mind, and though she was typically one to dismiss such a notion, the airborne entertainer had no choice but to reconsider.
“S- So,” Endivia addressed Namorel. “How was that…?” There was an obvious hint of nerve in her tone; lighter and a tad more energetic than the usual torpid tongue in which she spoke. The idea that she had unlocked a potential secret of her own being was as frightening as it was exciting, those feelings further backed by the uncertainty and the hope that the striving star could feel returning to her. It was the same sensation she had experienced when she had first set foot upon Earth: The same sensation that Endivia had become fevered with during her first stage performance. It was as refreshing as a cool rain, as invigorating as the salty tang of the sea air.
Was it time already? The Namekian’s answer would soon tell her…

As her music receded, Namorel watched her body language; a combination of exasperation and confusion in an excited flurry is what he got from the facial expression he felt he was seeing on her. Perhaps he was wrong, but then again, perhaps he was right. He didn't bother questioning this, her feeling towards her music would be her own and not his, his opinion towards it however also did play a large role in it as a crowd has just as much control over the music as the musician does. Their opinions and motives either super sizing a song, or their vindiction sending it to the slaughter like a herd of livestock. When he listened he could easily feel the emotion resonate through the music itself and despite not knowing the exacts could feel the mood of the situation resonating through his very being with each lick and trickle of a note. Perhaps this thing humans and these other races referred to as music were more than he took them for at face value. "It was excellent. I could feel the mood and emotions resonate through my very being as you played. I may not have too much knowledge with musical traditions of either saiyans or human, but if it can convey feelings like that then I believe it to be excellent."The namekian spoke, telling the absolute truth as he spoke, not refraining from a single word with each sentence. As his first introduction into this music he was content with it and would gladly take the opportunity to experience it again in the future, be it near or far. He would then await the saiyaness' reply on his opinion of her music.

“It was excellent,” were some of the best words Endivia had heard in months. Actual months! Indeed, such words hit her far harder than any punch or Ki blast could ever hope for, stirring her in body and mind and spirit. It seemed, by the unheard applause of her imaginary audience, that the time had come for the musician to reinstate herself within the entertainer’s community. The fallen star that was ‘Chicory’ had been reignited by the simplest of sparks, burning hot and bright again and ready to rise higher than ever before.
“Perfect,” she smiled gleefully, chest swollen with pride: “Glad I could introduce you to an absolutely stellar performance!” Were she not in such a good mood, the taupe-tailed traveller might have actually slapped herself for such a terrible pun, but the energy that crackled within was something else entirely. Most, if not all of her worries and troubles had been swept away or blown down to naught but embers of their former selves in the wake of such an enthralling performance. Music was like water; present and powerful, but variable and capable of being delivered in so many forms. Whether it be gentle droplets or coursing streams, ebbing tides or devastating waves; there was a veritable assortment of possibilities for the musical mademoiselle to make use of.
Lost in thought, she gently tapped at Tohnari’s strings. Her first rise to stardom had been swift as a coursing river, but fortunately without the force of a great typhoon. No, that had been the thing that had swept her away. There was no denying that the strength of the Empire was like that of a raging fire. Indeed, the SSE’s methodology was as mysterious to her now as the dark side of the moon.
I… Should probably get off this train before I rip off a whole song… With a shake of her head, the Saiyaness cast her dark eyes to her emerald-skinned audience, curious as to his next course of action. So far, the people of Namek seemed to be very patient individuals with need for neither haste nor hurry in their lives. At least, that was the impression that Namorel seemed to provide her with – better not to judge a book by its cover, even if said cover was as green as the grasses below.
“Namorel,” Chicory addressed him fully: “Thanks for the help. See you around!” Rather than flying off, Endivia instead descended towards the plains below, opting to travel the old fashioned way back towards civilisation. A nice quiet walk would do her good to calm her nerves, and perhaps channel the excitement of her new-found muse into something more controllable. Whether or not she would see the molluscan monk again was unknown, but she had the strangest feeling that their paths would cross again one day. Wishful thinking, perhaps…?
@namorel - I was going to try and continue this, but I don't know how we can make much more of it! If you wish to end the thread here, then we can do so. I'll take PL, thanks!

The musical saiyaness seemed rather content with Namorel's reply about the music. Her eyes seemed to light up and take the compliment positively. Namorel smirked with a content feeling on this matter and was happy he could help lighten her mood and perhaps kindle her muse. It was a good introduction to music for Namorel, he wanted now to seek out more variety of music; to explore the possibilities of the imaginations of these races that have lived with this audio based invention namekians didn't have.
"No problem."
The namekian said as he saw the saiyaness descend unto the ground. He himself would fly back to the mountain range of Frappe, to rest some for the remainder of the day. Endivia was an interesting individual and Namorel wondered if there would be more like her on the planet Terra, or if she would be one of her own variety.
