[Thread’s pl: 214,209 x12p ]
South Capitol, there was a few place on Earth that the Arcosian child known as Core disliked, and this one might be one of the worst; even if this place was the place he met his best friend in the universe, it was also filled with loads of criminals, mobs, corruption and everything, truly, this place needed some cleansing, and Core just had the perfect person for the case, his newly found alter-ego, the vigilante that still had yet to be named by him or anyone else, he didn’t really had a name for it, though he did made a few draft, but it was nowhere near to be completed, he needed a really good name and apparently those weren’t really running the streets that often, but that wasn’t in Core’s priority, tonight, he would test if he had the guts of a real vigilante, and that would be spending a night in the south capitol, where there would be plenty of work, and as the new caped crusader, carrying the cowl of a previously well-known Arcosian that had fallen many years from now, he needed to feel worthy of this costume he was given, he couldn’t just take it as earned.
The night was dark, only the moon was lighting the shadowy alley of South capitol, and nobody could notice the shadow that was leaving Core in his costume, on the top of a building, overlooking the street and using all of his senses to make sure there was no crimes around, the night was oddly quiet at the moment, not much sound but the flowing wind in the streets, really, Core was expecting much worst to be already happening, but he wouldn’t complain too much, he felt that it would degenerate really quick and that screams would fill the place in a matter of a couple of minutes top, he just knew it, this city was well known for its permanent crime waves, and it was time to put an end to this, tell the criminals that someone more competent than the police is watching over the streets and that this person isn’t afraid of them or their guns, neither is he afraid to step in against a hundred of them if it should happen, normal thugs were nothing more than fun to him, there was no way someone not mastering ki would hurt him, there was only one men capable of being strong without using ki.
After a couple of minutes waiting there, Core would hear his first scream of the night, seemingly a man, the scream was quickly silenced, but it gave Core enough time to localize it, this man was in danger and was not going to be ignored, not tonight. The Arcosian, having his costume on him that was practically not visible in the darkness, would jump off the building and fly toward the scream he heard, arriving quickly at a building, planks on the windows, door locked, no easy way in, something was going down in this seemingly abandoned building. Core would jump on the building, looking for an entrance he could use to surprise the thugs that were obviously inside. His cape was hiding most of his body, his eyes were glowing red in the night, his cowls leaving only them to be seen and he would look like the shadow of a demon, the shape of him being visible only in the right angle to catch the light of the moon.

Faster than a speeding bullet, Aiami was zooming toward South Capitol. It hadn't been long since her curiosity overrode her caution when it came to checking out the massive power she had felt in the city. Originally, she promised herself she had to be careful, and running toward such things was only a good way to get hurt. A power like what she sensed could probably get rid of her in a thought. But of course, minutes later the presence was still weighing on her mind, and her need to know what was going on had only grown. With an aggravated sigh, followed by an inward celebration, she stopped and diverted course directly for the city. Though, to be fair, she had no idea it was the city she was heading towards. She may have a map now, but it didn't help her if she wasn't looking at it.
Soon enough, she was flying over the city proper, still angling toward the power she felt, though at a much slower pace. Aiami wasn't being a complete fool about what she was doing, and had reduced her speed so she could mask her power while she flew. Once she arrived to the source of the power she felt, she hovered down and gently set herself on a building near what she felt. It seemed to be a bad neighborhood, maybe the abandoned kind. She didn't have much experienced with that, having only visited cities, and then usually the nicer parts. At least, not the parts with decrepit housing and boarded up windows.
Aiami looked around for a moment, trying to pinpoint what she was looking for. It was fruitless, however. She couldn't see anything that would match what she was looking for, at least not with her eyes, so she closed them. She took in a deep breath and focused herself, trusting her senses to guide her. It helped that what she was feeling was the equivalent of a bright light in the darkness, and it didn't take long for her head to angle directly at Core. She opened her eyes and squinted, but soon made out a figure in the dark. Or rather, a dark figure. Some kind of costume?
She hovered a little closer, settling on the same roof as him, before speaking. Aiami did so quietly, but hopefully enough for whatever the figure was to hear. "Ah... excuse me, but... what are you doing?"

As the new vigilante was walking around on the roof of the building, he would sense a rather strong power level on the outside of the city, clearly going toward him in a straight line, there was something more to it, someone had probably felt his power level and wanted a little chat with the Arcosian, but it’s not like he really had the time for this as someone was getting beaten up in this building, but he just couldn’t find a place to enter that would help him without leaving too much trace, the easiest entry would be to broke the door up, or even a wall, but that would leave trace and destruction more than he would want to, especially since he wanted his existence to be kept a secret for the longer time possible so the criminals would be considered as crazy describing him and fear would slowly make its way into the others.
While most of his attention was on the building he was supposed to break in, a little part of his mind was still keeping on guard the fact that someone was tracking him, and this someone was not blend in the normal people of the city, making it impossible for Core to track the movement on the power level that was clearly going toward him as there was still people in the street and the presence completely vanished through them, the young Arcosian knew it was probably the suppressing technique, maybe the person was afraid that Core could be dangerous but she was too curious not to go and check for her own what kind of person, Core could rely to that, he did reacted the same way when he first met his first mentor Beryl, and this person wasn’t in danger coming to talk to him at all.
When she finally arrived near him, Core could tell his costume was efficient, because even for a ki-user, he was hard to detect, though not impossible since she finally settled her look on him. Apparently it was a human girl, nothing really out of the normal standars except he knew her power level was higher than most of those of her kind, which was really pleasing to see for Core, maybe she was just a younger Beryl and she was going to be one of the strongest of her race just like him, he smiled under his mask before he finally found what he was looking for, the girl could wait, especially since Core didn’t really wanted to be found out just now. The Arcosian jumped back, seemingly disappearing under his cape as the girl could hear glass breaking, Core had entered the building.

She thought she was being loud enough, but Aiami could swear the figure barely registered her presence. On one hand, at least it didn't seem like they were there to hurt anyone. On the other, what were they here to do? Had to be something important if they were dressed like that. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, she thought before speaking again. "Hey, didn't yo--"
And then they were gone, jumping back into the shadows. She knew he had to be near there somewhere, and moved to follow. Once she heard glass breaking, Aiami hesitated a brief moment before following through slowly. Now that she was inside, she became aware of something else besides Core. It wasn't her ki sensing or her eyes telling her, but she could tell there were other people in here. She didn't know where or who, but it was just a feeling, her instincts warning her.
"Hello?" She called out into the darkness. "Who's there?"

Core knew that the human girl was trying to reach for him, but he had something to do before talking to her, there was something going on but he’d be sure to talk to her after this is done, after all, after she saw him clearly, he would have to discuss with her for her not to tell anyone about what she saw tonight, but there was no time to think about that right now, a man needed help and Core was on the crime scene now, his enhanced vision was perfect to see in the dark, he could see them, a couple of thugs in street clothes with baseball bats and knuckles, they were punching this man, probably some stupid story about money or something, and they were on alert, the only source of light was around the man, attached to a chair now, in a panic himself as he also heard the glass break.
The vigilante would slide in the darkness, taking down the thugs one by one, without giving them any mortal injuries, just hurting them hard enough so they’d fall on the ground and wouldn’t wake up until dawn, were the police could probably pick them up in the morning, plus there was nothing they could really do to Core, their weapon were lacking the ki needed to damage even Core’s suit, which was enhanced from the material being really Ki-sensitive and absorbing Core’s energy to shield his real body from damage, making any non-ki based weapon totally inefficient against him. After knocking everyone down, the young Arcosian in disguise would turn to the human girl, she had followed him.[I got to admit, she has a lot of guts, interesting… maybe she deserve a bit of attention, anyway, I don’t hear anything else doing down for now…] He would think as he turned to her after freeing the man who was slightly injured but quickly ran away.
There was only the two of them in there now, Core’s costume was a bit more visible since he was close to the light source, his black armored suit was visibly both solid and flexible, like scales, and was clearly not his natural skin, his cape was long and his mask was hiding all of his face except his eyes, that were looking at her with a fake sign of anger that was actually coming from the mask, not to sell out Core’s childish nature as his eyes behind the mask were showing a rather happy and innocent look. ‘’ So, you followed me in there… can I know why?’’ He would simply ask her, his voice was clearly not his natural one, sounding more mature and deep.

Aiami hovered there a moment, but whatever fighting was to be had was over and done with before she knew what was going on. She got a little closer before she touched down gently, boots resting against hard concrete. She observed the figure for a moment, or at least, the costume. Whatever it was, it was more than just some dark hoodie and sweatpants. It looked like armor of a kind, but nothing like she had ever seen before. Not that she could still even see that will in the dim light of... was that a lantern? Looked like some kind of electric model, but the lens was broken.
At hearing him speak, Aiami snapped her attention back up to the figure. She narrowed her eyes very slightly as she considered her answer. There wasn't a good lie, and it wasn't like she was here to fight him. How could she? Regardless, not much need for anything besides the truth in the current situation.
"Curiosity. The last time I felt a power like yours in the South Capital was the Saiyan Invasion. I was... concerned." Aiami admitted with a nod, before tilting her head. "Though once I got here, your costume and your behavior confused me. I figured I would stay to see what it is that you were doing. And now that I have..." She paused, looking to the broken lantern. "Who are you? And why do this?"

After everything was said and done, the young Arcosian disguised as a vigilante would smile a bit to himself, looking at the fleeing man, he had done a good first job overall, for a first mission, this was a success and it showed that Core was able to do this new job just well, even though he could get better, and he knew he would get better with time, this was just a bit of a show for himself, leading him to believe he could do this job and do it in the way to honor the memory of the one Arcosian that took the cowl before him.
The young human was looking toward him, seemly to think of what she was going to say next, which Core wouldn’t really be worried about, he knew she didn’t had bad intention, otherwise she wouldn’t have rushed toward a power-house like himself, she would have probably just left and would go for another city that didn’t had such a powerful vigilante like him. The young Arcosian was staring at her, his aura and his look was showing no aggressively toward her, more like curiosity, why was she following him if that wasn’t to ask something of him, or even just to see him in action, she looked like a fighter and honestly, Core could see her as one, humans were a daring race after all, and they had some potential if they were to push themselves far enough, so why not really, the strongest fighter Core knew was a human after all.
When he heard her answer, the young Arcosian smiled, even though she couldn’t see it through the suit, and the next thing she said would bring concern to him, there was a saiyan singely stronger than him? Or just as strong? That was not a good news... ‘’ Yeah.. I have heard of the previous saiyan invasion… I do hope they don’t do another thing like this… though I highly doubt they’d let it go on a lose… saiyan pride you know…’’ Core would tell the girl, hearing about her second statement, he then got closer to her a bit. ‘’ I can’t tell you who I am… to be perfectly honest, I don’t want people to know my real identity and… well… I don’t have my vigilante name just yet… as for why I do this… to make Earth a better place… were justice reigns victorious…’’ Core would admit to her simply.
The young Arcosian turned his back and looked at the sky through the glass roof he broke through. ‘’ Maybe… you would want to join me tonight? Then I could think about letting you know my real identity… but I have to make sure I can trust you…’’ Core would tell her right before turning back to her. ‘’ What do you think of that miss? You don’t have to tell me your name just yet, that will make us even don’t you think?’’ He would tell her a bit amused.

"I hope they don't come back..." Aiami said quietly, brow furrowing as she considered that worrying thought. She had only seen one city after the invasion, and that was more than enough for her. Though the idea of Saiyan pride ensuring it will happen again? She didn't know enough about that one way or the other, but if that were the case, she was concerned for the future.
She shook her head to clear her thoughts and looked back up at Core, listening to him as he spoke. Vigilante name? So that's what the costume was for. Aiami raised an amused brow while she thought over her answer to the offer of joining him on a night of reigning justice. It could be fun, and it might do South Capitol some good, as well. Then again, this was all reminding her a little too much of the comics her brother, Reiji, liked to read. If she was spotted doing this with someone dressed like Core was, she would never hear the end of it.
Still, it might be worth it, and it was a chance to do some good. Aiami nodded, putting a hand on her hip. "Very well, then. I think those terms are agreeable. Where to next, vigilante?"

When Aiami said that she was hoping they would never come back, Core would nod lightly to her, many are scared… but many are training in expectation as well, so there was nothing to worry about that much, most of the people were going to be ready to defend Earth, and against the whole planet, there was no way the Saiyan Solar empire was going to win this new war, knowing they lost last time to a weaker Earth force. ‘’ I know… everyone hopes they don’t… but be prepared of the worst, and if something better happen, then roll with it…’’ Core would simply tell her, looking down to her after his thoughts, smiling lightly though she couldn’t see it. ‘’ If you want to counter the next invasion, if it ever comes, train… train more than everyone else, and become stronger than them so you can help in the defense…’’ Core would then tell to her.
Core knew that he sounded silly, but it was kind of expected for now; he was literally in a costume, chasing crimes in a city but didn’t had a new, which was really not an asset since he couldn’t be called or anything to help, but he was going to find all those details later, though he saw in the human girl’s look that she was mocking him a bit, which wasn’t really an insult for him, any normal person would mock the crazy alien dressed in a dark costume to fight crime wouldn’t they.
When he heard her accept his offer of joining him for the night, Core would smile lightly, having someone at his side could by amusing, and it would give the girl some training that she needed a bit; Core knew the human’s potential and wanted to help every one of them that had the guts to follow it. To answer his question, Core would open his senses around, the night was quiet. ‘’ Well, we wait for something to happen, keep your eyes open, your hears too… we should get up on a higher point though… and we stop the crimes that we can see’’ Core would admit to his, his method wasn’t perfect at all for now, but it should work for the first couple of nights at least, until he finds another way to do so.

Aiami shrugged and nodded. It seemed a reasonable enough plan to find wrongdoing going on during the night. She stretched some before floating back through the broken window and rising into the night with Core. She closed her eyes and let her senses take over, or she tried to. As much as she put effort into focusing, something the vigilante had said was bugging the young fighter, and she couldn't shake it. Eventually she let out an aggravated breath and turned to the Arcosian, speaking. "Training is useful, and so is meditation. My teacher told me as such, but it's... there's more than just training in life. I know this, know. No amount of training can prepare you for a real fight. One where death is a real outcome."
Shuddering, she tore her gaze away, voice dropping low. "I discovered that myself, not too long ago. I almost died, and were it not for desperation, I think I would have." Aiami's shoulders slumped. Ever since that fight, she had trouble even bringing herself to train. It reminded her too much of the battle, or perhaps it didn't remind her enough. Her skills were likely the only thing that saved her that day, but how was it possible to prepare for life and death struggle?
"You're strong, surely you got there from more than simply sweating and exercise. How do you deal with real combat?"

The young Arcosian would imitate the human girl and would come out of the building by the glass roof he broke in to enter, he would then head to a higher building with her while she followed him. After a quick moment were Core could hear not much was going on, the Arcosian would turn back to Aimi as she was speaking, he would listen to her carefully and closely, she might be some good ally in the future and he didn’t wanted to overlook anything about her, it was one of Core’s thing, know everything about your allies since everything you know about them can be really useful when you get to fight beside them, that’s why Core wanted to know the most he could about every member of the Galactic Patrol he was a part of, but that was all things he couldn’t share with the girl in his vigilante alter-ego.
When she was done speaking at first, Core would nod lightly, he would get a bit closer to her and pat her back gently. ‘’ That’s horrible to hear… but if you survived, it’s because you were strong enough to do so, getting out of horrible situation makes you stronger, and at some point, you’ll be so strong that those situation will handle themselves on their own when you’ll be there. I’m just glad you didn’t died, you seem like a good person and I certainly want more people like you around.’’ Core would admit to his new ‘friend’ in a really friendly voice, though it was still a bit more heavily modified by his mask and mouthpiece. He didn’t really faced death that much time and he could only imagine what it would feel to have the exact power of the human girl, him was born and was stronger, a plus of being engineered to be perfect.
When he heard her question, Core would tilt his head, then looked away, trying to think about it for a moment, he then nodded and turned back to her. ‘’ How do I deal with them uh… well… like I handle most things… you know, I was always stronger than all the threat in my way so I was never endangered… but… when I think of the saiyan invasion… and possibly someone as strong as me… I just…’’ He would try to say, sighting to himself deeply before finding his words. ‘’I just think I’ll do like I always do in fights… fight at my best, if I can spare a life, I will, if I can save on, I’ll save it… but if my enemy won’t hear reason… if he just try to kill me…’’ He would say, taking a deep breath in. ‘’ Then I’ll kill him first… or die trying…’’

Physical contact from a stranger was new to her, but Aiami let it happen. He clearly didn't mean any harm, at the very least. She smiled over to him and nodded. "I'm glad you think so, I like to think I'm pretty good. Though I'm not strong. Not strong enough." She shook her head, smile fading. "People like you are proof of that. A year ago, I couldn't comprehend of someone as strong as you feel. Let alone what I felt during the invasion."
"There's still more I need to learn, need to experience." She laughed softly. "My master told me as such, but I don't think I really understood at the time. To be fair, I'm still not sure I do. Not fully." She shrugged, taking a few seconds for inward reflection. The last time she was home, Su was out of town, and she had never done that before. Not once in the many years Aiami had been her student. Which was unfortunate, because the young martial artist needed some guidance now more than ever.
Aiami listened close, but she could tell there was some uncertainty in his words. "So no one really knows what to do in a situation like that? Maybe that's the secret, there is no preparing for it." She shook her head. "Not very comforting, I have to admit..."

Core smiled softly at her when he listened to her talking, the young Arcosian wanted to make a new friend out of her, but he also knew that it would be hard without removing his cowl, which he was not really ready to do just yet, he wanted his identity to be kept a secret, but he promised himself he would find her with his alter-ego and would make her his friend, and to hell with it if she’d recognize him afterward. ‘’ You know, you feel me as strong as I am because I am transformed, but most people I know can become really stronger by transforming or obtaining a new form, and I’m sure you’ll get to that… I mean, the strongest person I know is a human, just like you, the potential for humans is high, you just have to conquers it, and I’m sure you’ll be able to do just that if you have enough will.’’ Core would tell her, trying to comfort the human girl.
Their conversation went on and the human girl would start talking about her master, the Arcosian boy would listen closely, still keeping a part of his mind trying to find a crime to stop but the city seemed extremely quiet.’’ You know, I still have experience to gain from… I mean… I was in a real fight for my life only once, I never felt someone stronger than me threatening me at all… I have as much to learn from experience as you, if not more… and you have to learn from training… your mind if probably stronger than mine, I can easily tell it, you just need to push yourself more. If you want me to tell you a secret, there is apparently plenty of person on Earth stronger than me, and we all get there through training and nothing else…’’ Core would admit to the girl amusingly.
When she said that there is no preparing, Core shook his head lightly. ‘’ There is some things to do… first, make sure you’re on the right side, if you’re fighting for a bad reason, you won’t be at your best. Second, don’t try to fight alone, if they are many, try to be as many on your side, don’t let your friends down and they won’t let you and finally, give it all you got, if death in the play on a fight, do not hold back ever, and if the person is trying to kill you, killing him is perfectly fine, as long as you don’t do it too brutally, just end it the quickest you can, it’s for your life… never forget that…’’ Core would simply tell her, it was his own secret, the way he would act if such a thing would happen to him.

"Fighting for a bad reason..." Aimai considered that for a moment. What was a bad reason? Evil things, she assumed, but the world wasn't always so black and white, even she was aware of that. Besides, what if she didn't have a reason to fight at all? Aiami frowned. She wanted to protect the people she cared about, and she would fight the Saiyans if they came back, but that's defense. And everyone fights to protect the things they love, she assumed. If she trained and got stronger, what would she do with that strength? It was a question that had haunted her before, and just like before she wasn't sure of her answer.
She was sure that she was going to have to find an answer sooner rather than later, however.
Aiami looked up and over at Core with a raised brow, her inner conflict briefly overshadowed by her desire to hear more about something Core said. "Transformed? Forms? I'm not sure I understand. What's that mean?"

The young Arcosian could see that his last statement brought some confusion into the girls mind, so he would try to reformulate his though into something that could be a bit of a clearer version of what he meant. ‘’ Well, a ‘good reason’ is a reason that makes sense for you, your good reason could be a bad reason for me, that’s why you have to fight for your own ideas, not for some that are imposed to you… that’s why I became a vigilante, I am already a protector of the Earth of some sort, but I wanted to seek justice in my own way also, because the group I am a part of isn’t really active recently…’’ Core would admit to the human girl, hoping that it would show her a clearer version of what he wanted to say at the core of his speech, though he doubted it would.
When the girl started to ask about transformation and forms, Core would smirk under his cowl, that was something he’d like to explain. ‘’ Well you see my friend, all races in the world, or most of them, when trained enough, achieve many transformation or phase that makes them stronger… take me for an example, I used to be able to transform into many forms, then I reached this one, which was stronger than the previous ones and now I’m stronger permanently, another example, the saiyans when reaching a certain peak of strength, can transform into a golden warrior called the ‘super saiyan’ which increase their power temporarily, humans also have that kind of power, but they’re usually phases, which means they’re permanent.’’ The young Arcosian would explain to her simply, this night of fighting crime had become a bit of a chat more than anything else, but it was only because the night was so damn calm.
