Things had been relatively quiet since the Arcosian Emperor's declaration to the galaxy concerning the return of the Arcosian Empire. More so than Abzerute had considered possible if he was to be honest with himself. There had been no signs of any Solar Saiyan Empire activity along his borders, or on any of the worlds within Imperial space. Ostensibly though the Galactic Patrol had been quiet as well, not a single envoy from them, nor from Earth's government. Although he suspected in the latter's case was due to their experiences with his predecessor Wyntre going to meet with them, instead of the other way around. They would figure out soon enough that he would not be coming to their world to sort out any negotiations, rather they would come to him. An Emperor did not travel to meet with Presidents on their world to arrange alliances, that's just not how it was done. It would make him appear weak, and right now he had to be strong. The Arcosian Empire was slowly returning to its former strength, but he still needed to meet with this Friion person who led the Friion Force as they were calling themselves, in order to sort out where their loyalties lay. He was also awaiting the return or even a response from Captain Koldar Frost who was apparently on Earth last he'd heard. With these two military leaders still in the wind, the bronze Arcosian had to be certain where his Empire's strength lay. His hold on the worlds was still new, and a touch tenuous but it was holding for now. Raiti-Zacro was his, so long as he didn't interfere with the pirates smuggling operations, and he would keep his part of that bargain with them, so long as they continued to target only the worlds and routes owned by the Solar Saiyan Empire. The Beppa-Seijin obeyed so long as their leader obeyed, and since Abzerute had bested him in single combat, the bronze Arcosian was confident in their loyalties. Viceroy Sleet wouldn't try to make a move against him so long as he held his throne on Yardrat for fear of his world's destruction. The only loose potential was Queen Contrate of the Brenchian Gemini system. For now, Abzerute held her loyalty through fear of the destruction of her worlds through a supernova caused by his tampering with their binary suns... but how long that fear would hold was anyone's guess. One misstep and the Empire could shatter again... Abzerute would not allow that to happen. He had made a vow to see the Empire reforged, stronger than before, and he would not allow it to be shattered again. There had been no word as of yet on the Namekian situation though, which he wasn't sure if it was good news or bad. It could be good, since there hadn't been any reports of unusual weather on the planet, or any sudden appearances of titanic beasts, which meant that the Saiyans had yet to find someone there willing to remake the Dragon Balls. On the other hand it could be bad because the Saiyans could have left the world, in which case where have they gone off to instead? The situation in the galaxy was quite... tense, like the calm before the storm. There had been no new moves from any of the factions, almost as if they were all simply biding their time for something to happen. What that something was, Abzerute had no idea, and that concerned him. However, there was little he could do about it right now, and instead had to focus on the task at hand of running the Empire. Mostly that was handled by the staff members who saw to the day to day operations of it, and was mostly left up to each of the worlds respective governments. He had left those intact so that they could continue to function, rather than trying to install a brand new system, which would only have taken up time and resources. However as Emperor, he had a duty to hold hearings and open councils so that those with issues that the governments on the worlds couldn't handle themselves, could petition him to try and have it resolved. Thankfully the petitions had been very scarce, and were for the most part several citizens seeking to pledge their allegiance to him personally, as if it was meant to mean something to him, or that by doing so they would gain some sort of special favour with him. The brown-nosing was quite... irritating, but was something he found himself putting up with, if only for the sake of keeping the Empire intact. He just hoped today would be a short one so he could get back to training. Abzerute sat in his throne and gave a wave to the guards. "Send them in and let's be done with it." he ordered, setting the stage for the first petitioner to appear.

Thread PL: 8,321 Suppressed Form Active~
Polara's pod would come into the sky of Yardrat, the Arcosian inside currently asleep for the time being. However, during the pod's descent, it began to unfortunately malfunction. The loud beeping inside the pod as the interior flashed red caused the Arcosian to wake up and grunt. The pod was going to burn up, and was.. SELF DESTRUCTING. Polara immediately roared out, kicking her legs into the door to try and get it open. It opened with five seconds left, and the Arcosian flew out of the pod and away from it, as it exploded before touching the ground, the fragments burning up in the atmosphere.
Great, now how will I get around. Stupid thing's broken. Polara wondered, narrowing her eyes for a moment as she then sensed a rather large ki, one that felt about double her size. Looking in the direction of the ki, she spotted a brown- skinned Arcosian with bright green bio-gems. Blinking, she figured that it would possibly be the new AE leader. Anticipating the meet, Polara would slowly descend and begin walking over to Abzerute. Her voice would resonate across the now-silent area, with no tone to it.
"Greetings, are you the new leader of the Arcosian Empire?"

The bronze Arcosian looked down at the newcomer Arcosian as she entered the hall, raising an eyeridge at her question. "I am indeed the new Emperor of the Arcosian Empire, and whom might you be?" he inquired of this female, or at least female sounding Arcosian. Amongst a race of people who could alter their physical appearance through transformations, it was always a touch on the tricky side to gauge exactly where a person stood on the scale.
Not that he particularly cared mind you, but there were always those who were picky about how to be addressed... especially after Wyntre's involvement with Earth. That world was a nightmare for this sort of debate, bloody primate species. He tapped his fingers away at his throne as he awaited her answer, preparing himself just in case she tried something as foolish as an attempted assassination right here and now. According to his Scouter, she wasn't anywhere near his weighted Suppressed form's level of power, but it didn't pay well to be too careless.
History was rife with the list of dead rulers who had fallen prey to an unassuming slayer, even before the concept of power levels was even a thing. Great leaders had been toppled before, and his reign over the newly reforged Empire was still in its infancy. It would not bode well to fall now.

"My name is P'Thermia, also known as Polara Thermia. I served under Wyntre's rule during my years of service, serving as a general to the army. As of the destruction of Arcose, I fled with my family, whom I eventually lost in space. I am here today because of the Z-TV brodcast finally having reached my ears. I decided to see if this was true, and if you need someone to help you, I could aid in this." Polara them swiftly bowed to Abzerute, the Arcosian having her own manners for being so weak. It was clear she had a rather sharp mind as well.
Polara looked over Abzerute, wondering exactly what he'd done so far to revive the Arcosian's rightful empire. "I didn't leave without my own injury. Sleete, my husband, was killed on Arcose as far as I know. I lost my youngest son seven years ago and my older two sons about a year ago. I may not look strong, but I have some experience under my belt. I still remain loyal to the Empire as to this day." Her voice had a serious tone the entire time, the Arcosian not backing down from the new Lord.

So she had military experience, serving as one of Wyntre's own generals. That point in her favour was quickly dismissed though when she admitted to fleeing and deserting her position of power, her duty to the remnants of the Empire. Her attempt to cover her arse with her tales of loss involving her husband and three sons, and oaths of loyalty to the Empire caused the bronze Arcosian to sigh. He rubbed his forehead, pinching the bridge of his nose before sighing once more.
"And do you expect to be reinstated to your rank of general, that you left behind when you fled from Arcosian space?" he inquired of her, wanting to see what precisely it was she hoped to gain from this. The only reason anyone mentioned their rank they once held was for one of two reasons. One was to try impressing the one they were telling it to. The second, was to try and reclaim what they had formerly held, or never held in the first place.
Even as the woman spoke, his Scouter was already going through the records to locate this Polara Thermia in order to validate her claims and testimony. Being the Emperor had its perks, such as unrestricted access to every file and dossier in the Arcosian Empire's records. So far, everything was checking out... so far.

Polara shakes her head as Abzerute speaks, pinching the bridge of his nose. "No my lord. I know what I have done was wrong. I come to apologize and ask if there is a way to prove my loyalty once more to the empire under your rule." She has honesty in her tone, as she met Abzerute's eyes with her own chilly blue ones, her eyes never wavering as she spoke. Her body stance was relaxed, indicating that she was not lying, otherwise she would be far more tense.
"I hide nothing from you, secrets are not something you should have when speaking to the new lord of Arcose. I have nothing to hide." Her voice was low, still keeping her calm. If she was lying she would be far more nervous than she was now, but as of now she was currently at ease with what was coming out of her mouth. "You may start me out as a grunt once more should you wish, or banish me. Either way, I accept whatever you shall do my Abzerute, my lord." She proceeded to bow again, showing yet that she had manners and clearly didn't intend to be instantly reinstated to the rank she had been before.
"My loyalty never wavered, even as I left I felt like I made a fool of the empire. I would like to assert the fact the Empire is not fools, and I would like to see the Empire arise to crush all the Saiyans that caused our downfall in the first place. I probably share the same intentions as you, to reforge the Empire's rule over the galaxy as it had been long ago." Her voice would finally quiet after the statements, as she waited for Abzerute. Standing once more, her eyes met his as she awaited his response. Eye contact was a sign of respect in her book.

The way she kept making eye contact with him as she spoke in her defence, acknowledging her mistakes and submitting herself to his will... it almost felt like she was challenging him. Challenging him to make the first mistake, to blink first. The bronze Arcosian couldn't be sure that that was her intention, or if she was even aware of that connotation, but he could not take that particular chance. Something did cause him to smirk though, concerning her statements as a file came into view on his Scouter that seemed quite pertinent.
"You may have nothing to hide as you say." said the Emperor, "and it may be true that you have yet to utter a lie so far in my presence... however, that does not mean you have uttered the whole truth either." he said. "You said you had lost your children, after your husband had been killed. That would lead many to believe that your children had perished as well... is that the truth?" asked the bronze Arcosian, letting this female play the next hand in this little game of cards. Of course, whilst she worked herself out of that particular hole, he pressed on.
"As for us sharing intentions, I will be content for now with ensuring the security and survival of our corner of the galaxy before I even consider going on some fool's crusade for the old glory days." said Emperor Abzerute. "Unless you believe we should be trying to strike out against the Saiyan's right now, as we are? Having only just recently managed to stop the tedious infighting that had arisen with Arcose's destruction." he asked of the former general, wishing to see how far she could take this calm exterior of hers. Where were her nerves, what were her breaking points... if she was to serve him in a military capacity again, he had to be certain of these things.
"Since Arcose's fall, where have you been lurking then Miss Thermia? Earth perhaps?" he mused, pointing a finger towards the view monitor which showed the remains of the pod that she had arrived on Yardrat in. "The extrapolated trajectory of your former pod would suggest so." said Abzerute, rolling his shoulders a little. "Since you're just recently from Earth, perhaps you could inform us of the current political and social situation on that distant world. Especially since the fall of their Kami on Kanassa." he inquired of Polara, gesturing for her to speak.
"Leave out no detail. Who is in charge of their government, who is in command of their military, where do they stand on the Solar Saiyan Empire, and where do they stand on the Arcosian Empire?" he asked, leaning back in his throne as he awaited Polara's report. She wanted a way to prove her loyalty to him? This would be but one of his tests this day. He may actually wind up enjoying this session today.

As Abzerute seemed to ponder what she said, Polara awaited a response from the other Arcosian. When he did speak, however, she remained calm upon being addressed. "I do not know the fates of my eldest sons. The only one of my children confirmed alive is Defrosch." She told him, keeping her stance relaxed until he spoke something that caused her tail tip to lash in an irked manner before she calmed herself. "Lord Abzerute, I am no fool. It would be stupid to lash at the Saiyans as we are, both of us know this." Her tone had faintly cchanged, before she closed her eyes and proceeded to calm herself back down into her relaxed stance from before.
Upon being asked where she had been previously, she waited again for Abzerute to finish speaking before replying with an even tone. "I have been searching for my family since Arcose's fall. I failed to find Sleete, Nor'Poel and Hayll as of now. Earth was a last ditch effort to find them, but I managed to locate my youngest son there."
As she pondered for a moment, her tail flicked before she would continue to speak. "When I left, there were fights breaking out left and right for reasons unknown to me. I sensed their kis but stayed out of it. There have been some bits of destruction as results of the fights, and it seems as if the planet is in disarray. I do not know if they have a new Kami as of now. They deeply dislike the Solar Empire, and I do not know where they stand on us, my lord." She concluded, looking at Abzerute the entire time she spoke.
(Busted this out on my 2DS, enjoy!)

Well that was disappointingly easy to rouse her anger. thought the bronze Arcosian to himself as Polara reacted to his words in regard to the Solar Saiyan Empire. She mentioned that Defrosch, her youngest son, was alive and well on Earth, and that Earth seemed to be having some issues of its own with fights breaking out left right and center. He did find it odd though that when he had inquired about their leadership, she only spoke of the Kami. Did she believe that their Kami was the sole executive of power on Earth maybe? Or did she simply have no real understanding of the political situation on Earth?
It was hard to tell sometimes. He would need to have some words with Captain Koldar whenever he returned from Earth, mainly to get his own view on the situation as well as up to date information. An active military officer would have a keener eye than one who was more concerned for searching for their family. He stroked his chin as she finished up his report, pondering over the situation as she had described it. A single report he would not trust on its own, no. Information regarding situations on other worlds had to be verified and ratified, various eyes and ears... but, what to do with her for the time being?
His fingers drummed at the armrest for a moment before Abzerute spoke. "You say you are loyal to the Empire, and would wish to prove your loyalty to me." he said, reaffirming her earlier statement. "If your surviving son, for as much as we are aware could be your only surviving child, if he were to try and strike against me, what would you do?" the bronze Arcosian inquired of her, wondering just how far she was willing to go, what promises and deals would she make? Would she forsake the Empire for the sake of her son? Or would she side against him? Would she try to merely imprison him, or would she try to kill him if so ordered?
Not that Abzerute expected to actually give such a command. If her son did try to strike at him, he would handle him himself whilst she watched on. Do not ask of others what you are unable to do yourself. As much as he detested what Wyntre's fascination with Earth had led to, the little dirtball of a planet did occasionally come up with some decent thoughts on the subject of ruling and leadership. But of course, she did not know this... for all she knew, he could very well order her to execute her own child. This would be interesting to see how she would react. A mothers love for her child, weighed against her loyalty to an Empire. He wondered which way the scales would tip...

Polara watches as Abzerute falls silent, pondering something she could not decipher from looks alone. Her tail flicked from side to side as she awaited Abzerute's next words, keeping her calm exterior once again. Her face guard was up, eyes giving nothing away of what she herself was thinking. Hmmm... What exactly is he thinking? Her question wouls swiftly be answered, partially anyway, and she listened as he spoke.
When he asked what she would do if Defrosch was her only live son, and if he were to strike back, she froze temporarily, only for a split second. Ohhhh dear... never thought about that.. shit. What would I do? I couldn't kill him, or bear to imprison or hurt him.. She looked at Abzerute, face guard remaining up. "If I were to have to face my son, I couldn't harm him. He is my youngest, and my only living child as far as I know." She replied, answer short and to the point. At least she was being honest.

He smirked as she froze when he had asked his question. Aha, something she hadn't accounted for. thought Abzerute to himself amusedly. Seems that for her experience in the field of battle, or supposed experience, he mused as he recalled some who had gotten their positions through influence alone with no experience, didn't prepare her for the possibility of family turning against her. When she gave her answer, he slowly nodded. It was as he had half expected. She was a mother, he was her youngest child. It would only make sense that she would not find herself able to bring him harm.
However.
"I see. Well, if he were to come here and try to stike against me, I would wish to face him myself anyway, as I would against any that would seek to bring an end to me." said the bronze Arcosian before he leaned forward a little in his chair. "Now, I would never order this of you, but hypothetically speaking..." he said, leaving the question hanging in the air between the pair of them. With the current topic of conversation, it should be easy for her to piece it together and figure it out. If she couldn't and he had to say it for her, then he had to wonder how exactly she had becaoe a general, if she couldn't figure out a simple thing such as this line of inquiry.

Polara sighed, rubbing the bio gem on her head before her hand fell back down to her side, tail slowly flicking as Abzerute began to speak once more. A bit of concern arose in her heart, making the tip of her tail twitch faintly. "Of course it is highly unlikely he'd even come here, unless you posed a threat to Earth, Lord Abzerute. It seems he has no intention of leaving the planet anyway."
She closes her eyes for a minute, before speaking again. "He fled Arcose only because my husband was a fool, mistreating the boy. Hypothetically speaking, if we pose no threat to Earth, he would not attack or set foot in Arcosian space from what I know of him. That world is blindingly colorful.. gives me somewhat of a headache. And for the love of Arcose, louder than a raging war."

The bronze Arcosian sighed as she danced around the subject, giving reasons as to why the situation would never even come up in the first place. He shook his head before speaking. "Perhaps I should be more direct then." said the Emperor as he looked at Polara. "If I were to order you to attack your son, would you obey that command?" he inquired of her, resting in his chair as he awaited her answer. It was an order he would never actually give, but she wished to prove her loyalty to him and what better test of someone's loyalty than to pose such a scenario to them? Would the mother strike her youngest son if she were ordered to?
Regardless of her answer, Abzerute had much to think upon. And with the threat the Solar Saiyan Empire posed to them, he didn't really have that many options left open to him if he wished to ensure the security of the reforged Arcosian Empire. "I've decided that you'll have a probationary position as one of my commanders." the bronze Arcosian declared.
"Given your experience it would be a waste to relegate you to the lower ranks again, simply because of what transpired on Arcose." he explained before he continued. "Your first order of business however is to get stronger. You have my permission to utilise the artificial gravitational field generator chamber on my ship to achieve this. Currently it is able to simulate gravity levels eighty times that of Earth's, although I hope to increase that level in the near future." Abzerute instructed of her.
"Any questions?" the bronze Arcosian inquired of his new commander, wondering how she would react to this little gesture on his part.

"No, Lord Abzerute. I would not be able to strike my son." Polara replied, being straightforward and honest of her answer. As Abzerute declared her position, she remained calm on the outside but internally she was startled. She bowed to Abzerute, expression blank. "I have no questions."
"As you wish." Replied the black and blue female Arcosian. "Where is your ship, if I must inquire?" Polara asked, and upon getting an answer she went to leave, to indeed become stronger if she could. Her navy blue aura flickered gently around her as she took off for his ship.

"It is currently in orbit over the planet." he informed her when she requested the location of his ship. "I'll let them know not to fire on you upon your approach and to escort you to the artificial gravity chamber for training." the Emperor said with a smirk before he waving his hand to dismiss her. "I expect to see some improvement upon our next meeting Commander." the bronze Arcosian said as Polara left, shaking his head before looking to the rest of the chamber. "Alright, I think that'll do me for today. Have the ministers handle the rest if any come." he ordered before he began to depart. Today had been most... interesting.
