Cipher was silent as he flew above the city of Ocariin, the most recent events going through his mind. When he first came to Konats, he had simple expected the challenges of establishing a religion on the planet. But now, things had gotten much more complicated. The Kashvar's dislike for him had made things a little more challenging, but now the actions of Plato made things much more difficult. The young man was trying to stir up a war between the konatsians and the kashvar, and was trying to drag Cipher into the fight. While he didn't approve of the Kashvar's actions, he wasn't going to get involved in senseless killing. So what was he to do? He had to get more information before he decided on his course of action. He couldn't speak to the kashvar, and he knew what Plato would say. There was one side left he hadn't spoken to.
And that was why he was touching down before the konatsian palace. While it was definitely a palace, it was humble compared to others he had seen. He had heard that Konats was ruled by a monarchy and a senate. He had made sure he had informed them of his arrival before hand. No sense in scaring the hell out of the ruling government. Outside, a couple of stewards were waiting for him. "King Cello is awaiting you," one of them spoke out, giving a formal bow which the disguised android returned. He followed the two of them inside. "The king has been most interested in your White Queen prophet," the steward said as they walked, "And to be honest, so am I. Is there anything you can tell me?" "I perform sermons at the temple weekly," Cipher explained, grateful when the steward nodded and he had avoided having to give an imprompt sermon in the middle of the palace.
Eventually, the three arrived in a large chamber, a massive window overlooking the city below. Sitting at a desk was an old, but regal konatsian whom Cipher assumed with King Cella. "Your excellency, may I present to you, the prophet." the steward presented as Cipher bowed to the king. The king rose from his seat, returning the bow. "Thank you very much. You may leave us." The stewards bowed and took their leave, leaving Cipher and Cella alone. The old kind smiled and gestured to a seat. "Please, have a seat. I have been very interested in meeting you Prophet. You've made quite a name of yourself here." Cipher nodded and took a seat before the king'd desk, the king taking a seat as well. "I wish I had come under more pleasant circumstances your majesty, but there's something I wish to discuss with you." Cella's brow furrowed. "And what circumstances are these?" Cipher leaned forward on the table, tenting his fingers. "I'm sure you're aware of the pale konatsian who's been stirring up conflict in the city."
Cella sighed and sat back in his seat. "Indeed I heard the reports. Very disturbing indeed." Cipher nodded. "He's been trying to convince me in his little crusade against the kashvar. He's told me some interesting things regarding the arrangement that brought your world to this galaxy." The king was quiet for a moment before he closed his eyes, a look of resignation on his face. "The hundred children..." "You don't deny it?" The king shook his head. "Doing so would only make me look like a fool. No, I'm sure you're well aware of it. One hundred konatsian children for their experiments, in exchange for the safety of our world." Cipher nodded quietly. So Plato was telling the truth after all.
Cella let out a ragged sigh. "I can understand how you must feel. To do something like that. But you must understand, a hundred lives in exchange for an entire planet is a very small price by comparison." Cipher nodded. "I agree, it isn't an easy decision to make. You were doing what was best for your people." Cella paused, clearly not expecting that response before nodding. "There's also a bit more to this than you may know. Are you aware of the war between the Konatsians and the Kashvar?" Cipher nodded. "Indeed. A truly devastating period in history." "Well, the whole affair involving us travelling to this part of the galaxy was what ended the war. With the Kashvar virtually saving us all, the hostilities ceased, and this world entered an era of peace." Cipher nodded as he listened, a thought occuring to him, "Is that why the terms of this arrangement were kept from the people? To maintain the peace?" The king smiled at Cipher's understanding, nodding. "Exactly. If word of this gets out, it might stir up hostilities and reignite the war all over again." Cipher nodded. Though the price was small compared to the benefit, the idea of turning children over for experimentation would stir up a lot of anger. "Hostilities may be stirring up again. He's been revealing the truth about what happened to the people. I can try to keep them calm, but there's only so much I can do." The king looked down, clearly troubled by this. "We cannot allow another war to ravage this planet, not after all the lives that were lost before..."
The room was quiet for a moment before Cipher spoke up, "The pale konatsian, he claims that the Kashvar are planning on using those beasts to attack the Konatsians." Cella's face went grave. "A disturbing notion. Though I have my doubts about that." Cipher tilted his head to the side, curious. "What makes you so certain?" The king leaned in on the table, steepling his fingers. "The war I mentioned, the one that devastated our planet. What you may not know Prophet is that they had their beasts even back then, and they were losing that war." Cipher blinked, a bit surprised by this. "The kashvar were losing?" Cella nodded. "Indeed. While the Kashvar are arrogant, they're not fools. They know that simply starting another war would end badly for them, and the migration was possibly the best thing to happen to them. They were able to survive, as well as gain the respect of the konatsian people." Cipher lowered his head in thought, pondering this new information. "If a war with the konatsians isn't their intention, then what do they plan to do with all those beasts?"
"If you want my theory, I'd say they're building up an army to take off world," Cella proposed, "There are many worlds out there, especially in this part of the galaxy. I wouldn't be surprised if the Kashvar are setting their sights on some of those world, want to bring other races under their rule." Cipher was quiet for a moment, contemplating this. The konatsians did have deep space travel, and it would be foolish to assume they had no knowledge of anything outside of their world. The kashvar were the kind arrogant enough to try and make a power grab in the galaxy. But if they did... "In that case, the Kashvar must be stopped," Cipher spoke up, "There are many powerful threats out there. The Arcosian Empire, the Solar Saiyan Empire. If the Kashvar draw their attention to Konats, it could mean complete disaster and devastation for everyone here." Cella nodded in agreement. "What do you plan to do?" "I don't know just yet," Cipher lowered his head, disappointed that he hadn't come up with a solution, "But time is running short. With the pale konatsian running around, it wont be long before he causes tensions to snap." "I'll do what I can to keep him at bay, but if I get too involved, it might stir up the people against the konatsian government as well." "I understand completely."
Cipher slowly rose to his feet. "I'm sorry to have to meet you under these circumstance, but I must take my leave. There is much I need to think on." The king rose, giving a formal nod. "I understand. I wish you luck Prophet, for the sake of my people." Giving one last bow, Cipher turned to leave. A thousand thoughts were going through his mind. He had to make the kashvar see reason, to stop whatever it was they were planning before they rained hell on Konats. But just how was he going to accomplish this?
