The warrior known as Sangu was slippery as he was resourceful. Alexander had expected a lack of subterfuge from the man given the fact that they had agreed to a fair and impartial fight. An honorable one. Sand in the eyes did not seem to trigger any of those words in Alexander's mind, but perhaps the entire thing had been a ruse from the beginning, and had lured Alexander into such a fight. Well then, if things were going to be that way, then he too would no longer rely on simple arts, but he would utilize all the tricks that he had in his repertoire- there was no reason for him to not do so, if Sangu wasn't going to play by the rules that he had originally set.
His eyes had closed instinctively as the sand came close, though he could still feel those particles just beneath his eyelid as his punch hadn't quite had the impact he wanted. While it might be normal for any who are struggling with sand in their eyes to panic and rub their eyes, which would cause things to become worse by scratching the whites, or worse, the pupil, Alexander merely kept his eyes closed, even as he felt the other's grip in his arm as his momentum was used against him. The boy knew this move, and while blind, he had little to rely on, save for his own senses of his current position in the air. As he neared the ground, he slammed his feet down to cushion the fall, needing to keep the air in his lungs for what he was about to do.
He had anticipated the arm bar before it had even happened, and due to this, he had gathered the Void in his left, the power shooting across his chest from his right wrist to his left palm. As Sangu continued to pull on the arm, which would either force Alexander to quit the fight or risk a broken arm, he instead let the void gather there, quietly as he gave a small grunt from the arm bar. Without warning, his palm pointed directly at Sangu's sternum, he unleashed a point-blank Void Bolt into the man's chest. If that didn't make him let go, he'd get another. Alexander'd had broken limbs before- he wasn't particularly scared of the results if his arm did break. It would recover in time- it always did.

Sanguinis had agreed to an honorable fight in terms of even numbers. Such was the way he was taught, and knowing that he'd need to pull out all the stops he did the sand trick to stop the full force of the warrior of the void. The Ace of Diamonds was honorable, but at the same time, he was crafty. He'd spent a recent stint training amongst the Warriors of the Fukkuroh Forest, which were in fact ninja. Needless to say, he'd learned a few dirty tricks.
He KNEW Voss was powerful, the strange energy he'd felt coming from the young man worrying Sangu a bit. He also knew that power was useless without a vertical base, which he had THOUGHT he'd taken away from Alex with the hold. But as he felt the hot sand on his back and sweat on the palm of his hands, it was no big suprise that the Void Bolt had caused him to release his death grip on the boy's arm.
It took two, but the man rolled backwards and took a knee. He held his chest as he stayed there for a moment, singe marks on his bare chest. Honestly, he hadn't expected the kid to have such a technique at his disposal and he shook his head. "Well, Alexander, I must apologize for the sand in the eyes. Not a very kosher technique, I am sure..." he pushed himself to his feet, the light breeze causing his hair to lift up slightly, sand swirling about his feet.
The two began to circle one another, Sangu's hands before him in the stance of a Tiger Kung Fu practicioner, hands almost claw like in appearance. The two men closed in on one another, Sangu striking with a high right cross. As Alex would through his arm up to block, Sangu would follow up with a straight jab, then drop low with a sweeping kick. If Alex left his feet, the Ace of Diamonds would fire a point blank ki blast right into his chest...strong enough to stun, but not kill...

Alexander gave a grunt as his hand was finally pulled free from Sangu's grip. The arm bar hadn't been expected, and he was quite impressed at the sudden conversion into something so quick and effective. Even so, he wasn't one that would let things lie, and that was where the void bolt came from. Given that it utilized Void rather than Ki, Alexander had no need to charge its power- he could release it nearly immediately as a burst of that empty energy, devouring all that stood in its path. Sangu had taken to a knee, and Alex moved, his lower body leaving the ground for a moment before his entire body cracked like a whip and he stood, the heavy coat once more falling around his shoulders as he stared down the other.
The sand still burned at his eyes, and he could see more or less all right, but there was a definite blur in his vision. He would have to remedy such a thing for the future and find some sort of preventative measure against such techniques. "Apology or not, the spar has become something more now," Alexander spoke, obviously slighted from having not anticipated such a thing. His expression seemed no different from before, but it gave off a cold edge that hadn't been there prior, and he stood, watching the other as he moved to stand. "I hope that you're prepared for that," the boy continued, the even tone in his words conveying no anger, but at the same time, it felt as if there was a slow burning flame emanating from the young man, rather than any explosion of animosity.
Alexander merely stood, his hands still at his sides. His arms were once more slightly bent at the elbow, but he held little more of a stance beyond that. Sangu went to mimick styles that he'd seen before, but nothing that he had any real knowledge with. Instead, he merely watched, waiting for the imminent attack. It came then, from a wild right cross, which the Void User blocked easily with his left forearm. The other came in, and as it was little more than a jab, Alex didn't even bother to avoid it as it clipped the side of his face. The man moved to drop low then, seeming to emulate what Alex had done prior.
Coating his right arm in Void, Alexander merely hopped backward, just out of range of the sweeping kick. A ki blast followed, but Alex had never taken his eyes off of his foe, and his right palm caught the attack as it approached. The Void lurched forward as if it were alive, like a swarm of red ants upon a black one, devouring the ki as his hand held there. Strange, grey liquid splashed to the ground, sizzling loudly as it ate away at the sand. "So, you do use ki. I thought as much," the boy monotoned before a burst of void ripped from his palm, headed straight at Sangu while he moved, hopping back once more, putting even more distance between him and the other.

Indeed, this battle had become something completely different. In retrospect, Sangu had no idea what made him use such an underhanded technique as to kick sand into the eyes of Alexander. He'd taken the time to apologize at the very least, but that wasn't enough in the situation. As the Void blast sped toward him, he narrowed his eyes in concentration and everything seemingly went into slow motion for him. He was sure that getting hit by the blast would not feel good, so he took evasive action. The distance Alexander had created has given him a slight advantage as his physical for blinked out of slight for a moment, leaving behind an image with took a strange stance and seemed to be charging a ki blast.
The Void Blast passed right through the charging image of Sangu, and Alexander would soon feel a massive impact striking him in the left jaw with all the force the human could muster. Sangu had used the After Image technique to damn near perfection, and any martial artist had to admire his technique as he followed up the punch with a hard knee strike to the abdomen. "You may be stronger than me...and I may be fighting a losing battle..." Sangu would leap into the air with his arm drawn back, and thrust forward. "...but you will not defeat me without me leaving a lasting impression!" , slamming his boney knuckles into the right temple of the boy with such force that shockwaves would send sand flying backwards.
Landing on his feet, he bent his body backwards and threw his legs over his head, flipping away from the stunned Alexander Voss with incredible speed. The beaten and bloody Sanguinis was seemingly becoming more powerful...even Alexander could sense it. Sangu threw his arms out to the side, two crimson balls of ki forming in either palm, his own power level spiking beyond what was believed capable to begin with. His aura flared in a frightening manner as he charged his attack, knowing that if Alexander tried to absorb it then it may just be too much for the man...he'd need to exert Voss' physical form....after all, Voss was only human too!
As his power reached it's peak, Sangu clasped his hands together at his chest and then thrusts them forward, a large beam of blazing, spiral red ki exploding forth and parting the sand storm between them..."FURY GRENADE!"
This escalated quickly...

The Void Bolt had missed its target, through a clever use of dodging that Alexander had not yet seen before. He gave a small sound of discontent as he saw the remaining form of Sangu remaining behind where he'd been standing those moments ago. Alex frowned then, before his emerald gaze slid over to the side where it seemed Sangu had moved to. The man had given away his location by talking, and that would be his downfall. Alex let the Void build within his right arm then, the power beginning to flow throughout his body as Sangu leapt upward, heading towards him. The man continued talking, but Alexander's ears had gone deaf to his words. Not out of spite, or out of a petty scorn from getting the sand knocked into his eyes. No, it was simply that while he had entertained this spar, he could feel the Void beginning to grow, demanding control to eradicate the man before him from existence, and he could not do that to a fellow human fighter that he had respect for. Quite simply, this battle had gone on long enough. As Sangu would draw close, still arcing through the air toward the Void User, Alexander's power no longer held its limit. Beyond that, he poured that energy from the Void into his limbs, strengthening them, drawing that power to greater heights. Unlike other fighters, which had that unleash of power that destroyed the ground around him, Alexander's was a subtle, soft change. Aside from the density of the Void gathering around him, and an increase to his power level, there was little that would indicate that he was gathering this vast amount of power. The blow to his temple did little, Alexander's gaze watching Sangu with an even, unbroken expression as the grains of sand blew away from them, the shock waves from the impact carrying outward. He watched, a cold expression on his face as he saw the other beginning to charge up that power in his hands. It was ki, Alexander knew, but it was a little different than what he'd seen before. The vibrant, crimson energy radiated outward and it seemed that the fighter was reaching a new limit of his own strength, surpassing what he'd thought possible before. Alexander would have been proud of him, to an extent, but he was currently fighting off the influence from the Void to not just defeat, or to kill the man that stood before him, but to utilize its unique trait to erase Sangu from the material plane. The blast that rocketed toward him was powerful, but Alexander was not weak. He extended a hand, the Void whirling there, like some sort of hungry, fanged beast as the red beam slammed into him. The brunt of the blast sent Alex's coat flying backward as the force of it slammed into Alexander...but the man did not move. His arm was outstretched, and a single hand caught the attack, stopping it from going further as a stream of silvery-grey liquid spilled from where the ki and Void met. The liquid hit the sand at his feet, causing it to sizzle as it ate away at the ground. "Your power is to be commended, but it is not yet enough to defeat me. If you wish to pursue this folly, I will make you regret it," Alexander spoke, the barest tinge of another's voice echoing his own. -- Current PL: 429,744 OOC Note- you may want to dial back on the Godmoding a little, even in non-KP battles. It doesn't bother me in the slightest, but I know that some people will get upset at auto-hits and that kinda thing. Just something to keep in mind

He chewed his lip a bit as he felt the void user's enormous energy. He'd felt such power before, but only from the hybrid Etoru who had given him the fight of his life. His human pride wouldn't allow him to give up, no. But at the same time, though his fists were trembling at his side, he knew that he couldn't match the young man's strength. He sighed, shaking his head. "Allow me to apologize...the heat of battle can make a man make rash decisions..." he chuckles. He knows that he has gotten under the skin of the cool and calm Alexander Voss. "...and I rarely have a chance to show anyone my true strength."
His true strength was nothing compared to his true potential, however this battle has taken place in a time before his training with Ayumu. He shakes his head and drops down into a low stance, circling Voss for a moment. He will not let a fellow human see him as being weak, because if that were to happen then word would spread. They'd say that he was incapable of being a protector of human kind. "One more exchange, Alexander. Just one more. Then you and I can go our separate ways."
Upon making this statement..."Your power is commendable as well, but I'll be dammed if I don't get at least ONE hit on you in this current form!" ...his firey aura blazes, and he explodes forward as fast as he can go. Coming close to Voss, he aims at the man's chest with an open palm strike which, if it hits, will knock Voss backwards. If this hits then he attempts to follow up with a sharp uppercut, charged with ki, leaving the ground momentarily and pivoting in midair, knee aimed at the boy's jaw. "Bo-ma-YEE!"

Alexander gave a small sound as he shook himself, the man struggling to get in control of that which dwelt from the other side. From the Void itself, he felt the pull of She Who Watches, her thousand eyes watching his every movement and commanding him silently to carry out those dangerous, and often abominable, actions. He didn't really want to tear Sangu apart- the man had gotten a little...exciteable in his battle, and the sand itself had merely flipped a switch, caused a slight trigger from Alexander that called upon the powers of the Void to keep him alive...which had resulted in his current state. The other apologized again and Alexander could feel parts of him wanting to be sympathetic and understanding, but yet other parts of him, those controlled by the Void, to be callous and uninterested in what the man had to say.
With a supreme force of effort, he forced the influence of the Void away, though he still kept its power at his hand. "A rash decision is fine, as long as it is also sound," Alexander spoke, having to focus on each and every word to keep the Void from creeping back in. It was like he was holding shut a door, draped across it while also trying to explain to people what was going on...and each attempt to explain only caused it to be even harder for him to keep that door shut. It was a dangerous line he was walking, but he'd done so without assistance so far- he'd continue on his way here, as well. "But I am curious to see this true strength of which you speak," Alexander spoke, his calm emerald gaze not at all showing the tumultuous emotions that were going on in the back of his mind.
"One more? Fine. Make this one your best," Alex spoke. He commended the fellow's bravery, that was for certain. The difference in their strength had become paramount, now. The fighter before him, the red-haired male knew the disparity that he was up against and yet even then did not shirk down from the challenge. He had the heart of a lion, and Alexander was rather interested to see where he might go, given enough time and training. But for now, he would simply watch and wait to see if the man could back up those words with action. That would be the ultimate form of understanding, here. Men could speak with words all day- it was what his father did for a living. But fighters like himself and Sangu, they spoke with their fists.
The blazing aura of Sangu surrounded him as the man shot forward, coming toward Alexander in a rush. Alex moved, his own open palm meeting the man's wrist as the palm strike came too slowly for Alexander to be struck by it. Undeterred, Sanguinis followed through with an uppercut, to which Alexander leaned back away. He'd found the hard way that there was very little way to counter an uppercut, aside from striking the foe as they knelt down to coil their muscles. But he was certain a blow from him now, even held back, would do some real damage. However the power of the uppercut surprised Alexander a touch as it actually took him airborne, and the knee that came around was unexpected as it did, in fact, connect with his jawline.
The boy's head shifted to the side from the blow, before Alexander unleashed a wave of Void from his body to knock Sangu back. He didn't attack, not really needing to. The man had wanted one particular facet of the fight to go his way- he wanted to land a blow on Alex, which he had. "The knee was unexpected. I've never seen an attack like that," Alex said simply. "But I will be prepared for it, should it come a second time," he mused quietly.

He knew that sound. It was the sound of a man losing control of himself, and his power. He didn't know the extent of the control that the Void had over Alexander, but he sighed as he could see that it pained the man greatly. Here this man was, trying to hold back in an attempt not to hurt Sanguinis. He shook his head. As much as he hated it, he had to concede. "We should stop this. As much as I hate it, I can see that you are struggling to control yourself. I've no idea what this Void power is, or what it entails but..." he frowned, dropping his guard. "...I cannot allow you to risk injury on my account."
Sanguinis knew that Alexander was a warrior the same as him. He knew that the man would be more than a little disappointed that he was cutting their fight short, but still, there was no reason for either of them to end up hurt for this. He smiled, and shrugged his shoulders. "I've had a lot of fun fighting you, Alexander. You're a true warrior, and quite honestly I would rather have you as an ally than an enemy. So what say we call this a draw?" He said...offering his left hand for a handshake to the boy, knowing of his preference.
The sign of respect was as genuine as the warrior's soul within the chest of Sangu. He admired Alexander's power and fighting prowess, and was showing that with this simple gesture. He didn't feel fear, but he didn't want Alex to hurt himself any further.

The male could not deny the wisdom that emanated from Sangu at that moment. Alexander had liked to think that he was some sort of unreadable wall- that no matter what was going on within his brain, that none would be able to discern it. He had been proved wrong, it seemed, by the simple observation from Sangu that he was struggling to hold back. The release of his power limiter should have been an obvious sign, but Alexander hadn't exactly been paying attention to what he was doing at the time- he'd been focused on winning the fight, having forgotten that this was just a friendly spar between two warriors. That hadn't changed, and yet here he was, forcing things that shouldn't be to happen...and Sangu had seen right through it.
"...I see," Alexander spoke after a moment, before his eyes closed and he considered the rest of the man's words. "A true warrior? Hardly," he responded, though he didn't really know if that was true or not. He felt his own...difficulties...put him out of the running as far as that was concerned. Though if another thought that, then he supposed they couldn't be too far off. He didn't know what more to say from that point, however. The other seemed to have enjoyed the fight, which was good. "And I you. Your tenacity is remarkable," he murmured, though he didn't know just what sort of power lay buried within Sangu. He ki sensing skill was far from accurate and he couldn't really tell what the boy brought to the table, only that he'd shown no fear, even with the odds stacked against him.
At the mention of a draw, Alexander's eyes flashed open, and his muscles tightened. Thoughts of wiping that smile off his face entered Alexander's mind, but he forced them down and away, his cold gaze on the other. "A draw it is then," he said softly, using his left hand to shake, as they had done prior. He could sense no inkling of fear from this warrior and he wondered, vaguely, if that bravery he held might be also mistaken for foolishness. Running into a battle headlong, heedless of the opponents' strength was a recipe for finding yourself at the gates of the afterlife.
He shook his head, looking to the sandstorm as he moved his scarf up again, covering his nose and mouth. "I suppose I will venture once more into the storm. I do hope we meet again, Sanguinis. And on friendly terms," he offered, before he turned, his form disappearing into the raging sands.
