Thread PL: 71,065 GnashNear death experience or just an out of body experience? Kaito had it pretty vague. All that mental stress he was undergoing recently was just relieved like that. Obscureness. All the human could remember was he met something divine. The godly positive energy of that mystical creature had awakened a new spiritual power within the human's body. This distinct power, Kaito felt like he could do anything; he felt like a God in flesh. Don't we all, though? Back to the topic, Kaito's orange Gi was completely soaked over due to the morning dew. He found himself lying down on the grass, his arms and legs stretched wide. The faint light of the sun had just started tearing through the clouds by the time Kaito stood up, wavering a little bit. He peered around. With those same brown hues. Although, not quite the same. The brown color had gotten more... cold. The usual smile on his face wasn't present either. He had gotten back in his gloomy days; Kaito usually was like this whenever he'd woken up after a lucid dream, but the feeling Kaito experienced was so different. The human looked like he had come across the bitter truths of this reality, and his feelings couldn't be healed anymore. Kaito took small steps. "Beryl's ship shouldn't be too far from here..." He leaned over some trees as he walked. "If I remember correctly, I was assigned a job. But... But what was all that about? Was it just a nasty dream, or did I actually astral project? It all felt real, though..." Kaito rubbed his sleepy eyes. "Astral projection or not, I've still managed to ditch my work. I just fell asleep like that. What if a wicked power decided to take over this area when I was asleep? Not only I ran the risk of getting killed, but my reputation would also receive an unrepairable hit." The golden-haired human slowly floated above the large pine trees. Luckily for him, things appeared normal. He didn't spot any notable change in the environment, so that meant no one had stepped during the time Kaito had passed out. The human ascended to the point where he could see the majestic ship of Beryl. A simple outward stretching of his dominant hand, Kaito flared his white aura. It was so bigger and denser compared to the other times. Just what had happened during this whole time? Were those fake illusions really this meaningful? Or they weren't fake at all? Of course, the majority would lean on the former. There's no way a mere human being could meet a God, even in his dreams. However, Kaito stood by his beliefs. He felt he was something special, a blessed soul. Overestimating yourself much? It didn't matter to the human. He was joyfully soaring through the skies; he felt divine. Flying in a serpentine manner, Kaito arrived at the ship. Even if anyone would greet the human, he'd ignore them. He headed straight to the gravity chamber. He had to correct his fatal mistake, after all. He failed to overlook that area, simple as it is. The human just wanted to... get stronger. Quiet. No one was in there this early in the morning. It still didn't matter to Kaito. He was so enwrapped in his delusions, he didn't even bother to turn the gravity increment on. His muscular fists ripped through the static air, causing minor whirlwinds to clash with the chamber's metallic walls. The human eagerly continued...

“Breath in… Breath out. Breath in… Breath out.” The Namekian coursed oxygen throughout his lungs, allowing the air to smoothly enter through his mouth and glide along his pearly whites. His green eyelids cast shades over the deadly yellow hues residing beneath, those of which would turn any normal being with fear into a blubbering baby. His usual attire was equipped; Tight black gi-pants, strapped in below by leather boots colored blue. His blue tonfa were secured tightly to his left thigh by a pair of brown leather straps that were stitched into his pant leg. Draped over his torso was a simple black vest with his signature white cloak. The cloak was bound to his body by the metal pauldron encompassing his right shoulder. He had his hood engulfing his large emerald cranium, providing even more of a shade than normal. Around his forearms were fingerless leather bracers layered over the top with blue metal guards colored in the same hue as both his boots and pauldron.
Gnash was stationed underneath a giant oak tree that sat in the middle of an opening within the forest surrounding Taichou’s spaceship. He was taking up his weekly meditating process, cleansing his mind and circulating his energy throughout his seven-foot-eight frame in order to make sure that he kept it under control. Gnash was a being with an exceptional power level. He possessed massive energy reserves compared to most of Earth’s warriors. He had to spiritually recognize his new level of strength and process it so that he could sufficiently utilize it in battle when need be. “Just hold it, Gnash. Hold it, and release slowly.”
“Aaash! Ash!” The bubbly ball of chunky pink flesh made his presence known as he waddled towards his Namekian guardian, who happened to be floating in mid-air. Clutched between his fingers was a white envelope with the name “The Sentinel” written across it. Gnash’s eyelids jolted back into his skull, revealing two golden orbs burning vibrantly within the shadows of his hood. “What is it, Zammy?” He spoke in a polite tone, allowing his toes to touch down against the grass below. He let the Majin slip the envelope in between his fingers before using his talons to create a precise slit along the top. He pulled a piece of paper out, unfolding it while scanning his eyes across the page.
“Alright, it seems as if Taichou needs me to meet him at the spaceship for something. It seems urgent.. Though this is quite the weird moniker across the front.” Gnash flipped the paper over, glancing across the name inked onto the base. The Sentinel.. It was odd, for sure. But he had to admit it was badass. “Zammy, let’s go.”
Within ten minutes, to two arrived at Beryl’s spaceship. They wasted no time in ascending the metal staircase and entering Taichou’s humble abode. Gnash’s radar quickly picked up on a familiar ki signature residing within the gravity chamber, a room in which Gnash had gotten acquainted with over the past few weeks. Too acquainted. From the looks of things, it was his old buddy Kaito. The hooded warrior stopped in front of the door leading into the chamber, holding his arm out. Zam-Zam bashed against it, clumsily stumbling backwards. “Allow me to check in with Kaito for a moment.” --- “Do you want Zam-Zam to go to the kitchen?” Gnash placed the palm of his hand against the door, prompting it to slide into the wall to its right. “No, you can come on in with me.”
The duo entered the gravity chamber, eyes immediately locking onto the human who was expertly slinging fists and elbows and knees through the air. Gnash raised his hand, waving it back and forth to try and catch his friends attention. “Kaito, over here!”
Had his friend taken a moment to acknowledge the Namekian, Gnash would further embark into the expansive chamber. The Majin followed behind, waving both of his arms through the air. “Hai Kaitooooo~” Gnash shot his friend a look of disbelief, eyes following up and down Kaito’s figure. “Wow, you’ve grown a lot Kaito. I’m… I’m shocked. I can’t believe you’ve developed this much power in such a short amount of time.” Gnash nodded his head, smiling. “Zam-Zam is impressed too! You could use all of your power and speed to create Zam-Zam some sandwiches!”
“If I may ask, what’re you doing? You don’t have the gravity on. I don’t think you do.. Are you just training? Were any of the other members not available to spar with you?” Perhaps the other members were off on missions or tasks assigned to them by Taichou himself. “I’m actually here to chat with Taichou myself, but if you could use a training partner, I have some time to spare. It doesn’t seem as if he’s arrived yet.”

Kaito's mental toughness was only decreasing. The human wasn't even sure whether that spiritual experience was remotely beneficial to his psyche.
Those with sufficient amount of knowledge on martial arts could note how bad Kaito was doing with those punches. No weight, no force, no momentum. Just some fragile little strikes which even a baby was capable of doing. It was clear as day, that rare experience sure had had a lot of effect on Kaito's mind. Seemingly, a negative effect. The human was tired. Even though he had slept like a sheep for 12 hours on the wet grass, he felt like he had been working on an overnight shift. Normally he'd simply stop and head to bed... but no! How could he leave it off like this? Everyone was getting ahead of him. He even failed to accomplish a simple task given by the Patrol higher-ups. No, this wasn't a way to continue...
The laughable punches of Kaito carried on. The human's legs fluttered, clearly a giveaway that they weren't competent to keep the human up anymore. Right now, he was truly a desperate living shell of what he used to be. The always-laughing youth had turned to a depressed torn fragment. "No..." The human faintly lets out those sounds; his cry for help. No one was there for him, though. Obviously; everyone might just as well abandoned him. Oh, sure. Why not? Who would want to stay alongside a weakling and good-for-nothing like Kaito Zen? "Kaito... Zen...Kaito...Zen..." He hazily repeated. "Zen... Grandpa... Denkichi... Denkichi Zen... Am I really worth of keeping the Zen in me...? Am I worthy to be a successor of him..." Kaito's powers finally gave out. He loosely dropped on the white tiled metallic floor of the gravity chamber and stared at the ceiling. "W-Was this it...? Am I...-"
A familiar sound didn't let Kaito finish his thoughts. Oh, how much did Kaito miss this voice... This voice full of self-esteem and doubtlessness. So unlike the human. He lifted his head faintly and brought it to an angle where he was able to see who was coming from the doorway. Blurry green and pink colors. Kaito had to blink several times to clear his vision out. The dark circles under his eye skin were doing their job. The human sighed in relief. It looks like they didn't abandon him after all. Or at least, Gnash and Zam-Zam didn't.
Of course, it would suck for Gnash to see his friend Kaito in such a state. He couldn't afford to lift a finger, let alone stand up and greet Gnash like a normal person would do. That being said, the human just lied there, his eyelids barely hiding his brown hues completely. "Gnash..." Now, this was a lame situation. If Kaito kept this up, his image would totally get ruined, if it's not already. How could he just lie down when his friend Gnash arrived? At least, solely for the respect, Kaito had for Gnash, he had to get up. He didn't care whether he was completely powerless, he had to. The sweet Majin Zam-Zam cracked a joke, which unbeknownst to him, had cheered up the human, even for a little bit. After struggling a tad, Kaito brought himself on his feet.
"Don't kid around, Gnash... This is nowhere as powerful..." Kaito spoke with his faint voice. He was panting heavily as if he had traveled the planet back and forth. "I mean... just look at you." This would be the last line where Kaito actually made sense. Everything that followed this line would be incoherent talk. "He told me... Gnash... I met a God. He told me I was basically a nothing. I felt like a 1/10000000 in front of his presence... That majestic frame which shadowed over Venus...!" Kaito's eyes widened. A smirk escaped his face. Now, it was more than clear that Kaito's mental broke down; the human crossed his sanity line.
"I'm the legacy... I'm Him! A GOD!!"
Of course, all that part emphasizing Kaito being weak was just a product of his mind. His disarrayed mind, actually. The human was just fine and actually pushed himself to further limits. He multiplied his powers threefold; no real reason. Just him being an enthusiastic maniac upon realizing he was a God. The white shiny aura ruined the random objects being present in the chamber by sending them flying against the walls. Meanwhile, the human just laughed in an evil fashion.
Due to this sudden plot twist, Kaito wasn't even able to hear the rest of what Gnash said. The human wouldn't be aware of what was awaiting him next, either.

The duo stopped dead in their tracks on their advancement towards Kaito, hues trained to the downed human. Gnash’s yellow eyes widened in shock when they locked onto the black bags situated underneath his friend’s eyes. Had he not been sleeping? Had he been training himself overtime and sacrificing rest? If that was the case, this had to be stopped now. Pushing yourself beyond your limits and setting new bars was one thing, but breaking your body down tenfold just to do so was absolutely ridiculous. Maybe he was wrong, and this was something else entirely. Either way, it was very apparent that Kaito was not feeling well at all.
Even Zam-Zam had noticed. As Gnash took a step forward to evaluate his comrade further, the Majin wrapped his hand around his white coat and yanked him back. Tears were welling in his beady little eyes and his bottom lip trembled. He was worried about Kaito. Despite their initial meeting with the human calling him fat, they’d bonded over the last month or so. He didn’t want anything to happen to Kaito. “A-Ash… Ash… Is K-Kaito okay?” He sniffled, sucking up whatever mucus that tried escaping his nostrils. Gnash calmly removed the Majin’s hand and pat his shoulder. “Zammy, it’s ok. Kaito is going to be ok. Just step back. I’m gonna go make sure he is OK.”
The young blob of pink chub backpedaled, standing near the door that led out to the rest of the vessel. He poked his index fingers together, biting down on his bottom lip to keep the waterworks from spiraling out of control. Gnash turned himself around, only to see his friendly struggling to lift himself off of the floor. “Nowhere as powerful as what, Kaito? Or who?” It was clear now that his buddy’s mental state was teetering over the edge. He wasn’t in the right state of mind, and his body surely could use a bit of rest. Gnash approached this with caution, his tone calm and steady. Freaking Kaito out was the last thing he wanted to do right now.
He blathered on about how he’d met a god, and how insignificant he felt in the eyes of this so-called deity. His eyelids retracted back into his skull, mouth curling into a devilish grin that caused even Gnash to freeze on the spot. What the hell was happening to his friend? Did someone cast some sort of curse on him, or were these the effects of training yourself to the brink of insanity? “Kaito.. Buddy. What god are you talking about? The Kami? Are you speaking of the Kami? Were you able to go and meet him?” The Kami, de facto leader of the Z-Fighters, resided within the Western regions of this world. Last he heard, the Kami disappeared. So there was a fat chance of Kaito actually having been able to meet with him.
Zam-Zam quickly ran up beside Gnash, holding his arm out towards Kaito. Gnash flung his elbow out to the side, sinking it into the hunk of colored flesh that was Zam-Zam’s stomach. He bounced the small Majin backwards as tears streamed down his rotund features. “Zammy, stay back! This isn’t something you want to get in t-” Gnash whirled his hues around in time to see Kaito unleash a burst of magnificent power. White energy lashed out in a three hundred and sixty degree radius around the golden-locked human. The whirlwinds produced from such a force destroyed many of the tiny machines floating around in the gravity chamber. The sudden burst was enough to send Zam-Zam and Gnash wheeling backwards. Zam-Zam was knocked off of his feet, rolling towards the chamber walls like a bowling ball. Gnash however managed to keep himself upright. He slid back on his heels, arms flying up towards his head in an ‘x’ formation to protect the vitals.
“A god?! What the hell is he talking about?!”
Kaito’s boost in power was astounding, proving that he’d raised himself far beyond a comprehensible level. This strength burst didn’t come without a maniacal laugh that resounded throughout the chamber. “Gnghh..!” The power level didn’t stop rising until it was about double Gnash’s current state. Good lord, did the human train his ass off.
“Kaito! Calm down, please!” Gnash proceeded forward, stretching his right arm towards his friend. His cape was nearly torn from his shoulders by the gusts of wind being produced from Kaito. This was bad, this was really bad. He turned back to Zam-Zam for a brief moment, speaking loudly and clearly. “Zammy! Get out of here! Get out of the ship, now! You wait outside while I handle this!” If one of his best friends really was spiralling out of control, then he had to get Zammy outta’ there. He wasn’t on a high enough level to be able to contend with Kaito, not yet. With a reluctant squeal, the Majin booked it out of the chamber. He was going to go find help, hopefully one of the other Galactic Patrol members.
