The Pixie Blue arrived into Namekian space in near-record time. Pin had put everything she had into the engines, eager to finally get back to his mission. He knew his passengers were likely eager to stretch their legs and see the landscapes of the lush and unusual planet below. As the Pixie began its entry into Namek's atmosphere, Pin activated the "fasten seatbelt" sign for the passenger area, hoping that Kay-El, Ban, and that damn cat would be safe as he safely guided them to the planet's surface. Pin didn't want to land just anywhere. He knew that Mayze was smart enough not to go gallivanting all over the planet without leaving some indication of his location, so Pin returned to the last place he'd seen the General - Moori Capital. Landing the Pixie pretty much exactly where it had been the first time, Pin killed the engines, opened the boarding ramp, and exited the ship without so much as a word to his passengers. " General," he said into his scouter, initiating an open broadcast within the scouter network, " General, this is Pin. If you're alive, come in. I've returned to Namek." --------------------------------------- Thread PL 73,060, Active PL 438,360 Heavy Weights ON Weighted PL 109,590 MayzeKay-El

Mayze smirked as he received a communication alert from his scouter. He opened the rather insecure communication channel in time to hear Pin announce his return to the planet Namek. The android had been destroyed back when Mayze had fought Xylo and Kizuki. Now, Pin was back, and likely with a few new upgrades to sport too if the general had to guess.
“This is Mayze and I’m very much alive,” he said rather simply, “Welcome back to the planet of slugs, Pin.” the general quickly scanned the information running across the screen, looking for the source of the communication. It took him nearly a second to find it. The android was located at Moori Capital, or rather, more like Moori Crater now. Xylo had destroyed the city with a huge blast during the battle.
The general took off from his current location, making his way toward the ruined city, “Enroute to your location, Pin,” It didn’t take long, only a few minutes, for him to reach the android’s location. He noticed the same ole ship that they both had arrived on Namek with some time ago. The scouter wasn’t incorrect, Pin was definitely here.
His scouter beeped, detecting the bounty hunter’s power level. It had increased quite substantially since Mayze had last seen him. The general smirked before descending, landing a few feet from Pin. He crossed his arms, and spoke, his voice stoic, “Nice to see you in working order Pin. And before you ask, the devil knight’s have been… eliminated,” he finished with a slight grin.

After a long night and longer flight, Kay-El frowned. The gravity training she did the night before definitely took its toll and she finally, finally, managed to get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. No nightmares to wake her, drenched in sweat, and no nerves writhing in her stomach like a pile of maggots digging into dead flesh to keep her from falling asleep to begin with. She’d go back in the chamber later, but for now she wandered the ship until she found a decent window to look through. Not only did it offer the incredible view of the planet from afar, she felt like she really was out there surrounded by stars, headed straight for a planet so unlike any she ever saw. Yes, it was blue and green for the most part, like both Earth and Shikk - but unlike those two, Namek seemed to be reversed! The planet got closer and closer until, finally, they set down upon the blue grass.
Blue grass! And the sky and water in the distance, as green as grass...well, home’s grass, anyway. The trees looked like Broccoli and she wondered if they were edible - probably not. Then again, much plant life was edible to some degree, you just had to know which parts and how to handle them. That’s what the chef back at home said, before she died. Thinking of Mary brought on a wave of sadness that didn’t last long, Kay-El got over the guilt only recently. Mary’s death had not been her fault and she couldn’t keep carrying the weight of the world on her small shoulders, anymore.
The five year old headed towards Pin’s usual hangout - that didn’t take her long to figure out - and when she approached she heard his voice speaking out to some General. “Pin!” she said, her voice excited and carrying the exuberance and joy only the youthful could. The small, black kitten trailed at her heels, following her everywhere she went. Nana was somewhere tidying up or something, she was sure, which left Kay to see if they could go exploring together. Then another voice came on the line, probably that General, and she slowed her pace walking over to her half brother. It wasn’t long before the stranger showed up and she stood with Pin at the door as he came in. Kay-El looked up, and up, and up at him ‘til her neck hurt. At three feet exactly and forty pounds, everyone was a long way up…

"This is Mayze and I'm very much alive," Pin heard over the scouter channel. He pumped his fist in the air triumphantly as the General welcomed him back to Namek. It seemed his worries had been misplaced. General Mayze had emerged victorious. The might of the Super Saiyan was once again weighed, measured, and found to be exemplary.
Once Mayze arrived at the Pixie, he clapped the impeccable warrior on the shoulder. It seemed the Devil's Knights - he wasn't aware that they'd named themselves - had been soundly defeated. May they rest in distress.
"It's good to see you alive, Mayze," Pin said, for the first time deciding to be more informal with the man. He somehow felt like they'd grown closer through the camaraderie of battle. "I think you'll find that I'm in better condition than I was the first time we landed on this blue mudball."
Pin heard the little footsteps of Kay-El coming. The girl seriously needed to work on her stealth. As she approached, Pin put his hand behind his head, casting his gaze slightly downward from Mayze's face.
"Also, sir, I...uh..."
Then the girl was there, all three feet and forty pounds of her. All five years, staring wide-eyed up at Mayze. Pin had absolutely no idea if Mayze was any good with kids, no idea if Mayze would find the surprise of a young kid to be a good thing or a bad thing.
"General Mayze, this is Kay-El," Pin said, gesturing to the girl. He looked down at Kay and said, "Kay-El, this is General Mayze. He's a big deal in the Saiyan Empire so I need you to show him the same kind of respect you show to me and Ban, okay?"
Pin looked back up at the General and let out a small chuckle. "Kay is, uh...well, Kay is my sister."

Mayze slightly grinned when Pin clapped him on the shoulder. A little bit of camaraderie was always nice.
The android began to speak, being slightly more informal than what was typical of him. Mayze didn’t mind however, he sometimes tired of the formality that came with his rank. So, it was pretty refreshing to hear someone call him by his first name only.
“Yea, I su-,” however, before the saiyan could finish speaking, the sound of footsteps interrupted him. Had Pin brought someone along from wherever he had come from? He arched a brow as Pin nervously put his hand and looked glanced downwards. Evidently, he was anxious about whoever was walking towards him. Mayze himself was very curious.
And then she was there, and boy, was she tiny. A mere girl, brought away from god knows where. What was Pin thinking, bringing her to Namek? She could easily jeopardize the entire mission! His face morphed into an annoyed frowned, and he sharply sighed.
Mayze stood with a slight aura of annoyance as Pin introduced him to the girl. The android then turned back to him, and actually announced that the girl, was in fact, his sister! He supposed that answered some of the questions that he had, had. And now he at least understood why Pin had brought her with him. However, that didn’t mean Mayze wasn’t annoyed by this latest development.
“I see,” he sighed. The warrior paused a few moments before continuing “Hmph, whatever, I guess it doesn’t matter that you brought her here,” he bit his lip before continuing, “As for the current situation on Namek, well, I’ve tried to make contact with the leaders multiple times to no avail. It seems they’ve gone into hiding after the latest fiasco, and they really aren’t in the mood for diplomacy. Can’t say I blame them, what with Earth blowing them up, and Xylo’s assault right after they came back. Heh, I’d be pretty paranoid myself.
He subtly motioned his head towards Kay-El before continuing, “As for the uh… orbs,” an eye flickered to the girl for a moment to see if there was any reaction to the words, “I’ve been unable to locate the whereabouts of the devices."

If Kay had been trying to be stealthy, she’d have suppressed her Ki and flown rather than walk nonchalantly through the ship’s hall. As it was, she didn’t really know what to say. She wasn’t nervous, Pin was there, after all. And she wasn’t as slow as he seemed to think. The girl nodded at Pin’s words, not liking his tone one bit, but she didn’t let that show on her face. She wasn’t stupid, she knew enough to be respectful to other people, that was just common sense to the half Saiyan. The fact that Pin seemed to think she’d, well, she didn’t know what he thought she’d do. Run her mouth off at this stranger who she didn’t know and had no reason to dislike? Whatever.
After Pin made introductions, she smiled, about to say it was nice to meet him despite how annoyed he appeared. But when Mayze just started speaking to Pin once more she gave up, and her shoulders slumped a little in disappointment. As a child, a lot of people tended to ignore her. Back home on Shikk, she’d learned to use it to her advantage because a lot of the time people talked about things they doubted she understood. Maybe she didn’t understand everything the two spoke of, but she memorized it all nonetheless, paying attention. If she was going to impress these people like Pin seemed to want her to, she’d play the part and be ‘obedient’ or, as her adoptive mother liked to say, ‘children should be seen and not heard’ before she beat Kay.
In that environment, she grew up fast, and only faster still when she landed on Earth instead of her intended destination of, well, here. Namek, Pin’s last known whereabouts. Clearly the universe worked in mysterious enough ways that they found each other after all. She schooled her features, letting the ‘adults’ talk, and scooped down to pick up Pounce who was nuzzling against her ankle as they talked about ‘orbs’ and other things they didn’t try to let her understand. When they set off to pick up his ‘work friend’ after his debilitating defeat on Namek, she had no details other than the bare bones, dumbed down version he gave her. She knew he’d done it, and she was okay with it. Someday maybe he’d trust her, and maybe she’d trust him, but for now she was content to let sleeping dragons rest.

Pin took note of Kay's disappointment when Mayze barely acknowledged her. He knew that feeling. He'd try to make it up to her later, but at the moment there was important business to attend to.
"If the leadership won't meet with us, it would be best to pull out for now. No point trying to force the issue, it might just make us look more like invaders and less like potential allies. I may recommend to the Queen that we send a few relief teams to help rebuild from the damage of our battle. No doubt that there are some Namekians who think we made it worse, regardless of Xylo's intentions."
When Mayze referenced "orbs" and "devices", Pin rolled his eyes. He understood the idea of wanting to be discreet, but even he know that Kay-El was no threat in this particular instance. Hell, the girl probably didn't even know what they were, and the worst that could happen would be a game of 20,000 questions later.
"That's unfortunate. If we can't speak to the Namekian leaders and can't find any sign of the Dragon Balls, our presence here is completely moot. It's possible the balls don't even exist."
He looked down at Kay, then back to the ship.
"Unless either of you want to stick around, I've got no problem getting right back in my chair and taking us back to Vegeta. Thoughts?"

Mayze inwardly winced when Pin mentioned the Dragon Ball’s by names, however, he supposed it was no big deal. The girl was only a little child after all. It’s not like she’d know what it is, much less understand what they do. Still though, there was always a chance the girl could mention it in an off-hand manner to somebody, and he didn’t want the humans to know why the SSE had had a presence on Namek.
When Pin mentioned leaving this boring-ass planet, Mayze could hardly stop himself from leaping from joy. There was nothing on Namek, absolutely nothing that wasn’t dull. It was just vegetation and the occasional town off in the distance. There wasn’t any training equipment he could use to distract himself either. Needless to say, his time on Namek had not been exciting.
“There’s nothing for us here to obtain, so leaving would be in our best interest,” he sighed, “The Queen’s likely respecting a report sometime soon anyway. Although, I don’t really want to tell her we achieved nothing and that our allies betrayed us… but oh well." he finished with a shrug.

Dragon Balls! Why was everyone so obsessed with them? Her face showed just a hint of dismay which could be read however the other two wanted. Sometimes she thought they were a myth. Really, though, there was no one for her to tell in regards to any of this even if she did know anything. Nothing in life worth having wasn’t won without a fight. The lesson got drilled into her head early on and, Dragon Balls or not, if you wanted something bad enough you had to put in all the required work and effort. So much hard work and effort for one wish, with all the other forces working against you out to get them too, didn’t seem worth it unless what you wanted was something so awesome and impossible the Dragon Balls were truly the only way to achieve it.
Like bringing someone back to life… With a soft sigh, she scratched Pounce behind the ears and the kitten purred happily, licking a scratchy kiss at Kay-El’s nose which made the child smile. The small, dainty, pointed canines showed briefly before she realized Pin had asked them both for an opinion on whether to stay or go. Mayze seemed conflicted but ultimately said they should just go and she shrugged. Having no other business on Namek than ‘finding Pin,’ which she managed to do on Earth, she said, “Whatever you think is best...I’m not picky.”
Looking back towards the doorway, she wondered where Nana was. Truthfully, Kay wondered why she even came out here to begin with instead of just asking Pin later how things went and then remembered he wanted her to meet some of these people that intimidated even her Guardian who once served in the SSE’s military. Although Pin was probably her guardian now, as the only actual family she had left - their mother didn’t count and could go rot at the bottom of the ocean for a thousand years drowning over and over and over again if she had anything to say about it.

Pin nodded along with Mayze's assessment. He also didn't want to go back to Vegeta empty-handed, but sticking around on Namek longer than necessary wouldn't change the fact that the mission had been a bust. Pin kicked himself internally. This had been a great opportunity for him to bring home a victory, to really prove himself to the Queen, and it had all fallen apart.
Kay didn't seem to care either way whether they stayed or went. That made things easier. He'd worried that the girl would want to look around and explore Namek for a while - she was inquisitive and adventurous like that. He hoped that she wasn't just trying to please him and the General, only to be upset about it later. If it came to that, Pin could always bring her back here. He had a star ship, after all.
"Alright then. Whenever you're ready to depart, I'll be in the cockpit."
With that, Pin turned around, scratched Kay's cat behind the ears, and walked away into the Pixie Blue. _____________________________________________________ Departing thread, PL please.

Everyone seemed to agree that leaving Namek was the best option, even the girl. To be honest, Mayze thought Pin's sister might have wanted to stay and explore the surroundings, or whatever it was kids do. Thankfully, she wasn't up for the idea, there wasn't much to see on this green ball anyway.
Although the general wanted to bring back good news, he knew that, that wouldn't be the case for awhile. The chance of bringing home something worthwhile was gone. He had been hoping for a great victory and possible alliance for the empire. Hell, maybe even the dragon balls themselves Instead however, he'd have to bring news of their allies' betrayal and subsequent destruction. Boy, was he dreading informing the queen of that.
With a subtle sigh, the saiyan followed Pin into the Pixie blue. [Exit] [Pl please]

And the three went different ways. In a ship of this size, there weren’t many places to go, as Kay-El already discovered. Heading into the space she shared with Nana she answered any direct question the woman had but left out pretty much all the details, not really sure what to make of them, herself. About as soon as the landed on Namek, they departed, having gotten what - or whom - they’d come for. For better or worse, Vegeta here they came, and Kay was almost, sort of, kind of excited at the prospect. There was nothing actually tying Pin to her other than circumstance, at best, he could have turned her away and she’d once feared just that. But he hadn’t, he’d accepted her and she was slowly beginning to feel as if she finally had somewhere she belonged. -- Adding to t2g Twc: 1304
