Pin finally finished some routine maintenance on the Pixie Blue. All outer systems and sensors were secured in place, landing gear was oiled and repaired, and he'd finally removed the last of those pesky cosmic barnacles that had somehow gotten attached on his way to Earth in the first place. He'd stayed on Earth far longer than anticipated, and after receiving a mysterious, garbled transmission from Namekian space it was finally time to leave.
He landed in front of the boarding ramp, where he was waiting for Kay-El and her Nana Ban to load up whatever belongings they happened to have. The little girl had recently joined the White List as a Hawk before dropping a fairly enormous truth bomb on Pin. When he'd told her he was leaving, she'd expressed a desire to come along. He'd been surprised, but all things considered he wouldn't mind the company while traveling, and Habana would probably be impressed that he'd managed to recruit such a young fighter with such great potential.
Pin also still had a lot of questions for the girl.
"Kay-El, are you sure you still want to come? I'm sure you've got friends here who would miss you, and the universe is a harsh place sometimes. I know you can take care of yourself in a fight, but we might get in over our heads out there. If you want to back out now, that's fine. I can always come back to Earth to visit. But once you get on that ship, there's no going back until you have one of your own or until my mission is complete." -------------------------------------- Thread PL 70,316 - Effective 421,896
Thread PL: 55,454 | Heavy Weights on: PL: 13,863 The Pixie Blue was a decent sized ship from what Kay could see. Pin’s warnings didn’t go in one ear and out the other, she did weigh them, but this had been her dream - to travel with Pin and get to know him. At least he hadn’t kicked her out and called her a liar. Looking over the ship she took in everything from the storage room to the weird poster outside the Gravity Chamber of some Saiyan lady all naked. Nana tried to cover her eyes, but she’d seen Saiyan ladies naked in the past and didn’t really think it was a big deal. The important parts were covered, anyway, so it was boring. And that was probably the most boring thing on the ship.
“I’m sure,” she said, looking over at Pin. Nana had found a room for herself and was probably already cleaning up something. She wanted to go off and explore, find out more about the Saiyan Empire first hand rather than hand outs and scraps from the table she used to get back home and then later on Earth. “Thanks for letting me tag along, Pin…so what now? Where are we going? How long will it take to get there?” Her usual burst of questions spilled out as she looked up, and up at Pin with dark, wide eyes.
Pin smiled at Kay-El as she bombarded him with questions. He tried to be polite as he answered, but really he was screaming internally. What the hell had he gotten himself into?
"We're going to the planet Namek. It's inhabited by green people with little antennae. They're mostly peaceful by my understanding, but the only one I've ever spent any real time with tried to kill me and a coworker, so..."
Pin trailed off, shaking his head as he secured bundles of supplies and other cargo.
"It won't take very long at all to arrive, actually. The Pixie here is one of the fastest ships you'll find anywhere, so it'll feel like no time. Still, best to get comfortable. Make sure to strap yourself in, too. Safety is important, you don't wanna go ass over teakettle as we're reaching escape velocity."
With that, Pin stepped into the cockpit and sat in the Captain's chair. Flicking switches and pressing buttons, the engines roared to life. The ship shuddered slightly as the landing gear came up and slid into their housing. Pin took the control wheel in hand and guided the ship up and out of Earth's atmosphere, off towards the planet Namek.
“I was supposed to find you on Namek originally!” Kay said excitedly and then went on about how their pod got knocked off course in an asteroid field and she’d landed on Earth instead, the Pod busted completely! She wanted to know more of his stories but perhaps this wasn’t the time. Deciding to take his advice, she was thoroughly impressed with the ship in general and said so before strapping into a seat.
Eight hours was definitely an improvement over the twenty four it took to get to Earth from Shikk. Honestly, she’d gone out of her mind with boredom. Poor Nana. Making sure her pet cat, Pounce, was secure as well she added, “Oh, Pin...this is my cat, Pounce.” The small kitten had been a stowaway on her journey from Shikk and she couldn’t bear to part with him now after they’d been through so much together. Pounce even saved her life once! -- Pl please
