Otto had finally found the capsule corporation building hidden in plain sight. It had been right across the street from the noodle shop that he had his third encounter with Drake Heln the whole time. He had been lucky enough to come across it as he was doing his rounds around the block outside of his power armor, when his arm brushed up an old sign covered in thick vegetation. At first he didn’t realize that he had found it, because the capsule corporation logo was missing from it. What he recognized was a group of serial numbers on the bottom right of the ‘office warehouse” that bore a resemblance to numbers he had seen on the bottom of the sign of the archive building. Otto didn’t check, but he knew that he had found the location that he was looking for.
He returned later in the day, adorned once again in his power suit. He approached the back door of the building, which was overgrown with weeds and had several beer bottles strewn about. The door was surprisingly firm, magnetically sealed, but Otto managed to pull it open after a bit of a struggle. As he entered, Otto found himself in a relatively unassuming room where a couple of cots had been left out. A bookshelf was the most eye drawing thing in this room, crammed full of books. He recognized most of them, older editions of basic cybernetic manuals. It wasn’t really the up to date treasure trove that he was hoping for. Aside from that their was a picture framed up on the wall…
“Our team,” Otto was able to make out in the top right corner as he dusted off the photograph. Underneath each of four figures were neatly written signatures. An elderly man on the left side with a clipboard signed as Potas. On the right side another elderly gentleman with a kind smile who had signed as Beekah. Standing in the center next to Potas was a gorgeous looking young woman with a bright smile, signed as Soufa… Next to her was a confident looking man, quite a bit younger looking than the two old guys, but still quite a bit older than Otto. His name was signed Breech. To his surprise, it also indicated below that Breech had been the leader of the team.
“Wow, he must have been really intelligent to be leading a bunch of old fogies… Imagine what he might have accomplished as he got older, and it might even be here in this building,” Otto said, excited about the thought of looting this teams secrets for himself.
“Nothing in here really, looks like a living area…” Otto said as he pushed through the room and into a door that lead to an unlit hallway. As he walked in, it automatically lit up, though the lights were a dim red. He was sort of amazed capsule corporation had kept the auxillary power running all this time… but maybe they had an interest in keeping all of their labs capable of running in case someone needed to use it.
Otto stepped into a laboratory full of tables that seemed to be cluttered with all sorts of mechanical equipment, test tubes, alembics, and more. Several white boards adorned the wall, with faint unreadable remains of mathematical equations on them. But what really caught Otto’s eye was a computer sitting on a desk at the far end of the room. With a boyish glee he rushed towards it and pressed the power button.
As the computer came online, a large C logo presented itself on the screen. The username “Breech” popped up onto the screen and Otto eyed it carefully. He removed his helmet and began to ponder how he should go about cracking this machine. He did not want to mess up and lock himself out of the computer, else he might just end up losing a chance at getting the information he was looking for.
He got up, he couldn’t risk it. He began searching the desk for anything he could find that might help him. For the most part it looked like mundane paperwork, and then he found an old picture again of the lovely female from before- Soufa.
“Score, i’ll at least have this lovely lady to keep me company if this was all a bust!” Otto said, beginning to open the storage compartment of his power suit. As it opened, a decrepit looking old sandwich flopped out. Otto held his nose for a minute and then threw it across the lab. How could he have forgotten that delicious sandwich that @katsu had bought him in there all this time?
Otto then realized that something was written on the back of the photo.
“Happy anniversary!” followed by a date. Otto held his chin for a moment after storing the photo away. He smiled and moved to the computer, punching the wedding date of the couple into the machine. Otto pumped his fist in the air excitedly as the computer opened up to him.
Then his grin went from a smile to a frown… there wasn’t anything on the desktop. He began clicking around, but everything seemed to be in default mode. Had the computer been wiped? Why did it still have the password…
Otto began digging around on the console. Things had been deleted and scrambled, but the machine hadn’t been wiped. For hours he began picking at the remaining code, remnants of the old file images that had stayed on the computer. He plugged his power suit into the machine as well and it began running a cracking system. He began to notice a pattern in the code hidden beneath the surface.
After quite a bit of tinkering, something flickered on the screen. A much older man was on the screen and a video began playing, after squinting for a moment he noticed that it was the same scientist that he had seen as a younger man in the dormitory.
Dr. Breech if you wouldn't mind inserting in a description of Breech's video log like we discussed awhile back I would appreciate it! Also if I messed anything up just let me know so I can change it! [heavy weights on]

A time weathered scientist slowly sits down in front of the camera. Despite his incredibly disheveled appearance, the man looks incredibly calm. In the background of the recording the entire lab looks worse than the man himself; files strewn across the floor, and beakers cracked on the table. The room is cloaked with a dim red light, suggesting the lab is on auxiliary power. The Scientist coughs once, before he begins to speak.
"This is Doctor Breech Aris. Log Date: 3-15-2784. It has been one week since I failed my experiment on Doctor Potas. Since then, I've gone into hiding for fear of being reprimanded. The experiment was supposed to give my compatriot eternal life in a robotic vessel, but instead..." He looked down at his hands; they trembled lightly. "...I failed him... I failed everyone... Especially you, Soufa."
He frowned, looking away from the camera. He wipes something from his eye, before turning back to face the camera again. "It's been... God... Who knows how long since you died, my love. Ever since, I've been trying my hardest to bring you back... And... And I'm so close!"
The Doctor laughs; it's a noticeably weak laugh.
"I just need more time, that's all I need. Then one day, maybe soon, I can bring you back... I know I can!"
Suddenly, the mans expression changes from one of happiness to one of seriousness. He speaks again, though this time it seems he's focused the message to someone specific. "I've left our son, Jean, in Beekah's care. To my knowledge, the boy has decided on leaving to start his own Capsule Corp off-shoot when he grows into an adult. Maybe one day I'll hold him in my arms, rather than holding all of this work..."
He pauses. It seems he's holding back some information about something. "I'll be secluding myself... Somewhere.... Until I finish my research. Once it's done, I'll present my findings to Capsule Corp in the form of my Dear Wife, alive once again."
He holds back tears once more, as he utters the words "Happy Anniversary."
The Video Ends.

Otto watched the video intently as the disheveled looking man discussed his research and the coming reprimand. Otto felt a tinge of guilt after the man mentioned the death of Soufa, the lady whose picture he had stored in his chest compartment. He unfastened the compartment again and removed the picture, and respectfully returned it back to its spot in the old desk. After doing this, he restarted the video again and again to capture the finer details.
“Jean… under Doctor Beekah’s care…” Otto began, “Perhaps I can find an address here, surely his son will have some clue as to where Breech went off too,”
“It sounds like the guy was doing some pretty heavy work, I am sure if I can find the lab where he worked before he died or retired, there will be a treasure trove of knowledge… especially without Capsule Corp regulations to hold him back,”
Otto spent the remainder of his time digging through filing cabinets. He found an address for Doctor Beekah, as well as the earlier research logs of Soufa… he didn’t open her work yet. He would look over it later...
