From inside of his ship's command bridge the bronze Arcosian looked upon a star chart of the Arcosian Empire, or rather what it had been prior to the Saiyan Invasion that had ripped its heart out and laid waste to several sectors in the process. Overlaying the star chart was a map of the Empire as it was now, with small borders forming inside of the original to denote where smaller groups had begun to take root and assume control over the regions. Ragtag groupings of pirates, with little more pride to their names than the titles they've seen fit to gift themselves with. It was a poor display for what the Arcosian Empire had once been... and he intended to rectify this matter as swiftly as he could.
Right now however, Abzerute did not believe he had yet the strength capable of bringing these errant and wayward systems back into line. He had no army, and he had yet to confront Koldar about his plans so he could not count on that front being viable for reasserting the Empire. His only minion was a single Majin female who could split herself into two beings, but that came at a cost of splitting her power equally between the two versions of herself, which was not ideal for dealing with multiple foes, unless she already vastly overpowered them to begin with. His resources consisted solely of a single vessel with a basic artificial gravitational field generator chamber that could only reach fifty times the human planet's natural gravity, although the ship held the power and spacial capability to house a chamber capable of eighty times Earth's gravity.
Which brought him around to thinking about his recent training session against the dark skinned human scientist Beryl Roarke... even as the bronze Arcosian grew stronger each time the two of them sparred with one another, so too did the human become stronger. The gap continued to remain between them, which only served to infuriate Abzerute further. What confused him however about the human, was that Beryl was terrified of him. The human scientist boxer who's power level dwarfed his own outside of his True Form, was terrified of him... and yet considered him to be this friend thing that humans are so fond of having.
He had never fully understood the concept of this friendship to begin with himself. It just seemed like a manner of disguising the fact that you were using others for your own gain with a pretentious and self effacing title. He had tried to figure out what Beryl Roarke gained from himself, and couldn't find anything aside from the same reason that Abzerute was using the human scientist. To increase his power and hone his techniques. And yet... he continued to claim that he sought nothing for himself... that he put himself through the torture of training with the bronze Arcosian for Abzerute's own sake... that he genuinely sought nothing for wanting to help aid the Arcosian people after the recent tragedy inflicted upon them by the Saiyan invasion.
This did not sit well with the bronze Arcosian. The idea that someone could truly be that altruistic... so he set the human a test. Try and discover a way to reverse the Tree of Might's process using the Tree itself. Whilst the organism itself was dead, its genetics could still no doubt prove invaluable to research. Everything in existence had its opposite. Light and dark, positive and negative, life and death. If an organism could drain an entire planet of life, then it stood to reason that there was an organism that could cause a planet to flourish. If Beryl was as altruistic as he claimed to be, then he would achieve this goal, if he was truly being honest about his desires to help the Arcosian race.
But Abzerute couldn't rely on just Beryl to accomplish this task, and so he had been conducting his own search through the histories he could locate, trying to locate anything that could reverse the destruction of life wrought on Arcose. Even delving into information regarded as mere legends and fairy tales, given that the effects of this Tree of Might would be considered as such... but the only thing he could locate was some obscure mention of dragons roaming the galaxy with immeasurable yet fragile power. Whilst he looked through histories, he had his Majin minion(s) combing through any and all news reports from across the galaxy, just in case any lucky scientists or such had stumbled upon a procedure that could be adapted to a planet wide level of operation.
So far, neither search had borne any fruit... until today that was.
