The very forces of the planet, thought Raisu. That sounded... rough. Did the man really have the power to harness the power of the planet like that? Raisu found the idea of that farfetched. And besides, he wasn't scared, even if the Saiyan could do it. Raisu was strong. He'd trained at ninety times the Earth's gravity! This would be nothing to him, a son of Earth. Raisu flew forward, and grit his teeth as prepared for the impact of the attack.
Each one his Raisu's chest in rapid succession. And he hadn't expected so much pain. The tiny balls did have some punch behind them. Not enough to stop Raisu, that was for sure, but enough to make him feel it. Slightly, he could feel something cracking. His ribs? Or joints? It was hard to say, but the adrenaline was keeping him going.
"Nice trick!" Shouted Raisu, "But you're gonna have to hit harder than that to stop me!"
And with that, Raisu was going to answer with his own technique: his White Sunburst. He was getting close now, close enough to warrant the use of this technique. Raisu threw both his hands up and quickly expelled a blast of white ki through them, the conical blast made with the intent of engulfing his foe.

He grinned as he witnessed the lack of experience show itself again. The kid took all five of the blasts directly in the chest. That was a bad idea for most anyone. The way this attack worked could severely damage the body from the inside out. To take an attack head on like that meant many things though. One you were strong enough to resist most of the damage or all of it. Two you didn't care and would take the hit for a better advantage. Three you were simply an idiot and didn't know any better. To his dismay he saw what this time happened to be. This kid was twice his own power. He could see the effects take hold but not to the extent he hoped. What came next was something that made him grin, though he was stunned at what it meant.
He was fighting at full strength and nothing seemed to effect the kid. And his attack was a mere trick at this point. And at this range he wasn't going to be able to dodge it, and he couldn't deflect or block it without some major damage. But he could lessen the impact of it happening. He pushed his ki once more, and slammed his hands into the ground. The shock and his seismic tapping kicked up another large chunk of dirt and rock once more. With that between himself and the blast he cross his arms and did his best to brace himself for the impact. Even then....this was going to hurt.
When the blast hit the rock, he held his breath. Dust, rock, debris and energy pelted him and then slammed into him. At first he slid back only an inch or two before he lost his ability to keep his footing. Knocked back and rolled by the blast he felt the damage done. He hadn't felt this banged up since he was a kid, weaker than his father. At the end he stared up at the sky, coughing lightly from the damage done. He wiped a small smear of blood from his lip and slowly began to force himself back onto his feet. He couldn't go another round. He could barely move now after that. Finally on his feet he stared at the kid with a grin.
" Nice one. Your the first to ever beat me since I left my fathers training. Your green but strong. What's your name kid? "

Finally, it was over. The pain still throbbed in his chest. But he'd won. Not that there had ever been much doubt in his mind. Raisu had felt the difference between them from the beginning. But still... That Saiyan had fought very hard indeed. It was impressive. It almost reminded Raisu of himself, flying in the face of a stronger opponent. It pained him to admit, but perhaps Raisu the blood Raisu shared with this race was strong after all.
Raisu shrugged and looked at the Saiyan with a small looked of amused confusion. It sure seemed that his foe had changed his tune. Interesting, thought Raisu. And this guy was a Saiyan? Weird. Raisu had not met many fullblooded Saiyans. In fact, he could count the ones that he had met on one hand. But, Raisu was confident in this next thought: Saiyans were weird. No doubt about it. Still, he was keeping his eye on this Saiyan, even if their fight was over.
"The name's Raisu. Raisu Hanamura."
Raisu was unsure. What was this guy getting at, complimenting him all of a sudden? Or maybe it was not a compliment at all.
"Why?" He asked.

He gave a half grin. The kid was uneasy, still defensive. Good. That meant he wasn't entirely stupid. To let your guard down at this point would invite trouble. Even if the opponent was unable to fight back. One could never tell. Closing his eyes a moment he breathed slowly, evenly, focusing his mind to ignore the pain that coursed through his body from that last attack. Even still, he hurt like hell. It was time to at least mask the pain he felt and keep himself composed. The words and look from the kid made him chuckle. It seemed his own actions confused Raisu. So with a nod he spoke again.
" Well met Raisu Hanamura. Why? Because you have earned the right to be called by your name. Or would you prefer I continue calling you a boy? " He gave a sneer, that cold arrogance still there. " I am Sake. Now it would appear I owe you some answers since you won this little match. " He had lost. That stung him repeatedly. Showing his lack of progression. How could he loose so easily? And not just to this kid but to himself? Clearing his mind of these thoughts he focused on Raisu again. " Now what is it you wanted to know? "

Sake. Raisu would remember that name. Rarely did he forget a name. Not only would it be bad manners to forget a name, but in this case, he felt it might be prudent to remember the name of a foe. Who knew when the man might turn up again, and in what context. Still, he thought, it was nice to get a little respect from the man. It certainly calmed his blood a little, that Saiyan blood. The same kind of blood that ran through his recently defeated foe. An ugly truth.
"Well," said Raisu with a small sigh, "I, uh, don't even remember anymore."
He grunted. This is what fighting did to him. It got him all riled up and raring to go. It took over his mind, for better or for worse, and it was like an eraser to the slate of his mind. He scarcely had a straight thought. If only he could recall... And then he had it! The explosions. Those frickin' explosions had been the entire cause of this mess.
"Wait, I remember! You! What were you doing out here? Those explosions, what were you doing? Training, destroying, what?"

He arched an eyebrow and then laughed shaking his head. " Don't remember? Yeah a good fight will do that to you. But it also points out how green you truly are. " He bit back a wince of pain that was caused from his laughing. This Raisu was curious indeed. And it was blatently clear that he knew nothing of his bloodline. And that was shameful. When the memory returned the expression was funny. But the words that came threw him back into a cold, seething anger. Not at Raisu, but at himself. " Oh that. " His jaw clenched as he too returned to that moment. Letting it circle in his mind. The ground trembled beneath his feet, but only barely.
" That was me being angry. Being frustrated at realizing something that no warrior should ever face. " He forced himself to calm down and finally he simply sat down, too drained to bother to keep himself up on his feet. " I was always strong. When I was taught how to fight that was all there was for me. I don't train, I cant because I have no taste or drive for it. I fight, and by fighting grow but when all that is in my path are weaklings...growth stops. "

To be strong, thought Raisu. Isn't that what he was trying to do these days? To get stronger> And it had often led to frustration for himself. Raisu shifted uncomfortably on his feet, looking at the falen Saiyan. Yes, thought Raisu, he could sympathize with frustration. He knew it well. He'd hit a wall before, a wall he could not surmount. His wall was the Super Saiyan transformation, something he could not pass.
It was odd. Raisu never thought he'd be able to sympathize with a Saiyan. But here he was, nodding, understanding. Stranger things had happened, though. On some odd, twisted level, he knew what the Saiyan meant.
"Right. I get it," said Raisu with a sigh, "Hitting walls sucks. I've been there, too."
Raisu shook his head and frowned. There was still something he didn't get.
"But I don't get your aversion to training. It's about bettering yourself, you know? Sometimes you need to test yourself in other ways if you want to grow."

He looked up at Raisu and shook his head. At that age how could he have hit any walls? But then again who was he to know the trials and problems faced by some fighters that grew up on this planet. So it was possible for that to happen anywhere. It still didn't lessen the anger he felt at himself for being unable to find a way around or through this problem. He simply gave a nod and decided to pick at something he had noticed. " You don't know much about your bloodline do you? About the saiyan heritage that your part of? By my guess....you were never taught. "
He frowned at the question Raisu asked him. " I don't have the patience for it. Training in my eyes, even as a child was always repetitive and lacking in true challenge. I saw it's point and need to learn how to fight and to learn the motions and abilities for battle. But as a means to get stronger? It just didn't feel right. Fighting is how you grow stronger, because in a fight there is no set pattern to follow. You fight, you win, or you loose. You never know what will happen. But it seems that fighting is no longer enough and I do not know how I can get around this problem. At least not on my own. "

"Well," began Raisu shaking his head, "You can't do everything alone. Even fighting people takes at least two, though that's kinda weird to think about as a group activity. Like, I don't normally think of it as something I go out looking for partners for, you know?"
Raisu laughed and shook his head. For a moment, he stood in silence and thought on it. Getting stronger... He supposed that training could get boring after a while. Hell, he was probably there himself. He seemed to do so much of it these days, a change of pace would do him some good.
"Tell you what," began Raisu, "If you're looking for someone to fight, I'd be happy to do it. It'd be nice to beat someone up on the regular, you know? Maybe beat some manners into you."
Raisu grinned, confident. Cocky even.
(Sorry about the late response. I really thought I had posted this weeks ago and the last few days have been busy.)

He looked up at the kid. So little did he know about what it meant to be a true warrior of the sayain race. Maybe, there was something to this encounter other than what had been. But would it be worth it? would it be something to follow? So many problems could pop up but then again this was like a battle. Random and the results could be varied. He did understand the words as they were but felt them to be hollow to some degree. Then Raisu made an offer that made him kind of curious. He chuckled at the cockiness of the offer. " I am a warrior, manners are not something I need. But you bring up an interesting concept. "
Taking in a deep breath he forced himself back onto his feet. Hiding the pain that rushed through his body from taking so much damage. " A better offer. I can't progress on my own, I know this. You have no idea what it means to be a saiyan. You help me improve, train me through battle and i'll give you knowledge of the blood that runs through you. I've seen the look and know you have felt the rush of battle. But you have no clue to why. If your up for that then...we can certainly gain a lot from each other. "
( lol. no problem dude. I know life can be chaotic so i'm never in much of a rush. )

Raisu frowned. To be more in touch with the Saiyan blood in his veins... He was not quite sure how he would feel about that at all. His was the blood of warriors, the blood of conquerors. He hated it. The race of his father had invaded the home of the race of his mother. His home. And Raisu hated them for it.
But there was part of him that needed to understand. Raisu could not explain it, but he felt compelled to learn what it meant to be a Saiyan. He knew what is was to be human, to be a son of Earth. But the other half of himself was a mystery to him. And that just didn't sit right with him.
"You know what?" He asked quietly, almost to himself, "You're right."
Raisu sighed and bowed slightly to the Saiyan. This might be the beginning of something grand. Or the reaffirmation of Raisu's hate for his warring half.
"You've got yourself a deal. You get stronger, I learn what it means to be a Saiyan. I think we both get something out of that."
To learn what it means to be a Saiyan. Maybe that's what he was missing. Maybe that was the missing ingredient, what was keeping him from reaching that golden state, Super Saiyan...

He watched Raisu's expression. He was clear the thought caused some doubts within that mind of his. To learn about a race he didn't know anything about, and a race that had recently apparently invaded this planet without much success. Being raised on earth this was Raisu's home so he understood the hesitation. But still, not knowing what you were capable off was something that could hurt you in a battle. Then Raisu spoke, it was soft but it was noticeable. Of course he was right in this matter. But still, it was a choice one had to make on their own.
He chuckled and nodded. " Very well then Raisu. It seems we shall teach each other. This could get fun indeed. " He managed a genuine smile. One that wasn't cold or arrogant. He extended his hand to the young man. " Let's see what fun we can get into together then. But after I get over this beating you handed me ok? "

Raisu grinned, just a little. It seemed that there might be a mutual respect budding. Raisu took the fullblood's hand and shook. This was definitely not how he had expected the day to go, but he'd take it. Any day he didn't get beaten to a pulp or have to beat someone senseless was a good day.
"Alright. We'll be in contact, I guess. If you need to find me, I hang around the Southern Islands, these days."
And with that, Raisu flew up and away, leaving the Saiyan behind. As he sped away, Raisu could only think of what the future might hold.
(Thread exit! I'll take zeni, please! And so sorry this got dragged out! The semester has been a killer.)

He gave a firm and short shake of the young mans hand. Noticing the light grin as well. Yes this one would learn, and teach. They both would get a lot out of this. He had to rest, to heal now so their next encounter would have to wait. He gave a short nod to Raisu at his words. " Alright then. I'll look you up once i'm able to move around without the bruises complaining. " With that he watched him take flight and leave. This was going to be more interesting than he had ever hoped for.
( Thread end! Power level please. ) ( no problem dude. )
