Raisu stared at the man a moment, putting the face to the name. Treylech? He could remember that well enough. Raisu had a feeling it would not be the last time they met. Best he remembered it for now. How many people had he met in the past few months? A lot.
"Hey, no worries. I was just doing what I thought was right."
Raisu nodded along with the man. There was plenty for someone like him to do. It was just a matter of finding work, and dealing with the small matter of his past.
"Hey, bounty hunting could work. I mean, it wouldn't be my first choice, but..."
Raisu shrugged. It wasn't as if Trey had many options. He might be joking, but it was a real option.
"You tried fight clubs? Not the cleanest places, but they pay out."
Raisu was tossing out suggestions now. And fight clubs did work, at least for him. Raisu remembered the fight club he'd brawled in, what, four or five months ago? It had certainly paid.

"Fight club?" Treylech never had anyone he could genuinely call a friend before, so he had never heard of a fight club before, much less fought in one.
He hesitated for a moment. "Actually, before you answer that, I have something that's been bugging me. How exactly did you catch up to me and find me while I was hidden? You don't exactly look like you've run hundreds of marathons."
He knew the guy could move quick, but it was hard to fathom exactly how fast he must have been going to actually catch up. Not to mention the fence. But the fact that Raisu found him so easily was what left him so flabbergasted.

Raisu smirked. So he didn't know anything about ki signatures. Man, he thought, these are basics. Raisu couldn't imagine running around without knowledge of this stuff, or at least being able to sense ki. It had saved his skin a number of times. He'd almost be blind without it. Now, how to explain it to Trey? For all Raisu knew, this might be his first exposure to the idea of ki. And then there was the fact of his Saiyan blood. That surely made a difference.
"Well, uh..." said Raisu as he tried to find the words, "I'm kind of not so human."
Raisu unfurled his tail and let it bob in the air behind him. He didn't like to walk with it out these days. Tensions were kind of high after the Saiyan invasion. Not that he blamed people, but still: he preferred not to attract a lynch mob.
"Then there's the fact that you kind of stick out like a sore thumb. I mean, like, in terms of Ki. See, ki is life energy. Strength, too. It's complicated, but!"
Raisu spoke as he went to tuck his tail back into his clothes.
"It's kind of like energy. See, I like to think of Ki as the great equalizer. Sure, I'm not the buffest guy. You said that much already. But those versed in the arts of Ki tend to be a lot stronger physically. And Ki can let you do other things, like fly. And there are some people, like me, who can sense other people's ki. That's how I found you. Your ki is huge compared to the average person's, and pretty distinct, too."

Ki? Energy? These were enough to grasp on their own, but an entirely different race? Raisu was certainly clever at fabricating tall tales. Treylech was certain he knew most of the facts about combat.
Didn't he?
"So what you're saying is you're a mutant monkey with a sixth sense?"
He gestured to Raisu's tail. "That's all cool, but it must have been expensive buying a fake tail that moves. But it was kind of cool that it just so happened to move at just the right time to make it seem like you could control it.
"And energy that can make you super-powered? Heh. That would be pretty cool. I love that you were trying to suck up to me by saying I stick out with how much stronger I am. That's pretty good.
"I don't believe that monk stuff, though. Ki is just a way to call luck something other than.....uhhh......well, luck." He waved his hand as if to dismiss the reality he didn't know.
"It was probably just luck. There's no way you could actually take me on. I don't run. I just fight."

Raisu raised an eyebrow and snorted. Confident, thought Raisu. Cocky even. Not that he could blame him. It would be a lot to take in if it was his first time hearing about Ki. Though his comments about Raisu's tail did strike kind him kind of the wrong way. No one had ever accused him of faking it before, that for sure. Sometimes Raisu wished he was faking it and that he could take it off as it suited him, but that was neither here nor there.
"I mean, I didn't really mean to suck up to you," said Raisu, a grin on his face. He knew what he was going now.
"There are plenty of people stronger than you. Myself included. You just happen to be higher up that the average human."
Raisu shrugged, trying to maintain a vaneer of casual confidence.
"Don't believe me? We could throw down."

(Lol. Trey is a jerk sometimes, but he has no idea he's opening his mouth wide enough for his foot.)
A friendly bout? One without the express intention of death? Interesting. But judging a person based on a gut feeling was a mistake, and Treylech was willing to correct that.
"A fight without trying to actually break someone? Sounds good to me. But not here. Don't wanna get busted by the police for disturbing the peace and assault charges again."
'Not like I do it on purpose...'[/b] he thinks to himself. He didn't know where to go, though. He never fought without agression.
No. That wasn't true. He fought in the World Martial Arts Tournament once before. "How about the tournament arena? Fight using arena rules to keep it fair."

(Haha, yeah. It's a fun way to see a character react, though!)
Raisu nodded. He could deal with those rules. A fair fight was a fun fight, even it might not be exactly fair. He would certainly go easy on Trey. Would it be his first time fighting someone more than human? Raisu remembered his first encounter with those who broke beyond human barriers. Though, hopefully, this encounter would end with less murder.
"Sure, that sounds good. Don't want to cause any problems here, that's for sure."
Raisu gave the would be thief a thumb's up. It would be an educational experience, that was for sure. Maybe it would be a good opportunity to try his hand at teaching.
"So, you can go on ahead. I'll meet you there."
(Do we want do our fight in this thread or make a follow up thread in the arena proper?)

(Let's make an immediate follow up thread in the arena. Make it proper. You can start this time.)
Treylech stared awkwardly at Raisu as he flashed a thumbs up. It took a few moments before he was fully able to comprehend what he was seeing. Eventually he glued together enough words to give a proper response.
"Right..."
Okay, no proper response. Generating a new response, please wait...
"I suppose I'll meet you there then." Treylech nods.
Grrrrmmmmmmm
"Right after I find something to eat."
(Lol. You broke Treylech with a thumbs up.)

Raisu nodded. This should be interesting, indeed. The boy would certainly learn a lesson, and maybe it would inspire him a bit. Learning the inner workings of Ki had certainly changed Raisu, and for the better too.
"Alright, see you in a bit."
And with that, Raisu stepped away from Trey and walked down the street. Perhaps he'd find his own food before going to the arena. After all, it was only a sort fly away. Not that Trey would know that.
(Lol, I love Trey's responses to things. And yeah, I'll make the thread and try and get it up tonight. Also, I suppose I'll toss this up for grading. I'm taking zeni. You?)
