Raisu came to a stop along the shoreline. It was a lovely sight, the sight of the sun high above the ocean, the sun glinting off the waves, and the waves ever so gently pushing at the shore of the beach. It was so peaceful in that moment. Raisu sat down in the fine, brown sand of the beach. He didn’t care if it got in his clothes or shoes. He just had to take this moment to enjoy the sunlight and the calmness of it all. After all, moments like these were so fleeting these days. One had to hold onto these kinds of times, lest they all be taken away. It was nice to take a break from the fighting, the training, all of it. He’d even taken his weights off for this beachside walk, a rarity these days. And besides, perhaps it was for the best that he went without them. One would never know when a Saiyan invader was about to come down on them,
Raisu’s tail twitched in the sand. It felt good to allow it to move out in the open air after keeping it hidden for so long. He hated to do it, but he had no real choice. So many people were scared and angry at the Saiyans these days, even hybrids like him were a subject of ire. Funny how the people of Earth felt that way. Raisu himself hated the Solar Saiyan Empire. They destroyed his home, everything he knew and grew up with. There was a certain shame in him. These were people he shared a common nature with, attacking other people he shared a common nature with. It was as if his two sides were at war with one another. Who did he belong too? The obvious answer was Earth. He’d grown up here, lived amongst its people. He considered himself an Earthling in almost every regard. Why wouldn’t he belong to Earth?
But there was the underlying primal tone to his nature, the Saiyan blood that drove him to fight and grow stronger. It was a part of him, an ugly part that reared its head whenever the going got rough. It was what drove him forward through adversity, granting him the will and power he needed to overcome. And that is why a case could be made for the Saiyan side of him.
Raisu sighed. He shouldn’t be thinking of this. Not now. Not when he promised himself he’d have a small moment of peace. He looked up the sky. He wasn’t even bothering to suppress his power. Maybe he’d get a visitor. Welcome or not. He could certainly use the distraction right now, whatever kind they might provide. Be it fighting or talk, he just needed something other than his own nature to focus on. If not, he would simply look up at the sky and wait for whatever he was feeling to pass. Perhaps fate had some chance encounter prepared for him. Or perhaps not.

[Thread PL 1,700 at the time of thread] Sometimes he had days off. Other people would fill in for him. Oriki still carried his sword on his back, but wore casual attire instead. Blue swimming shorts with a spiky pattern, a brown long sleeved shirt and black trainers. The sun always shone in this island, some sort of... magical effect or curse or something. Today he planned on strolling along the beach just so he could have a swim.
The steps going down to the beach from the jetty were uneven, poorly made. But what the beach had in beauty definitely made up for the poor concrete. But when Oriki walked down, he saw a man with a tail. A Saiyan. Oriki didn't like Saiyans. They were an arrogant race who did nothing but destroy anything that was in their way.
The young human treaded carefully as he did not know what the Saiyan had planned. Maybe he came here to destroy the village? Or he was a messenger to tell everyone they were about to die? Oriki was about to draw his sword when he thought for a minute - he remembered what Viro had said. "Always make sure you know who and what you're dealing with." He took his hand off the sword handle and unclenched his fists.
Oriki walked a tiny bit closer until he was 10 feet away from the Saiyan. He concentrated and tried to sense the Saiyan's power level. 30,856. Damn. Oriki took his hand off his sword and unclenched his fist. He knew that this Saiyan wouldn't hesitate to kill him.
"What is your business here?" he asked, ready to pull his sword at any moment. Oriki had never been this scared in his life.

And suddenly, a presence. A ki signature, larger than the average human's. It drew ever closer. Risu's mind followed it all the way down the beach. Whoever it was wasn't bothering to hide their presence. So, he'd meet someone on this beach after all. But what was his intention? To fight? The signature was not particularly large or menacing. Not anyone who could pose a threat to him, at least. But he'd known folks who could hide and conceal their real power before, so one could never be too careful.
And then the presence drew close enough. He spoke, demanding to know Raisu's business. A man's voice, around the same age as Raisu by the sounds of it. He'd been wrong on the age front before, though. But what was his business here? Did he even have business? Sometimes it was hard to say if he did or not. He'd come here with no real goal.
"Hey, man. Just relaxing."
He looked at the man and grinned. He was armed. A sword, by the looks of it. Though convential weapons weren't much of a threat to Raisu anymore, those who were more than human could still put enough force behind it to do some damage. Hopefully he wasn't here to use it.

The Saiyan thought for a bit before responding to Oriki's question. His tail twitched in the sand, something that made Oriki tense. "Hey, man. Just relaxing." replied the Saiyan. Just relaxing? "Then why here?" Oriki asked. He was unsure why a Saiyan would be relaxing on the beach of a village. Maybe they'd turned good? The only news the village had was over 3000 years ago, when they had finally gotten a signal from that stupid aerial of theirs.
As he awaited the Saiyan's reply, he narrowed his eyes. Why did he come here?

Raisu shrugged. Why here indeed? It was not as if he had set out to come here. He'd simply gone where fate had taken him. He laughed, and grinned at the boy. Was he trespassing? He had to admit, he hadn't considered that possibility. He was so used to just going where he pleased these days. No one stopped while he roamed. But now? It was certainly unexpected, but it was possible.
"Eh, I was messing around in the southern islands. This seemed like a nice place, so I stopped here."
He stared at the boy a moment, before speaking again.
"Sorry if I'm not supposed to be here."

The Saiyan shrugged as he looked back to the sea. He looked like he was deep in thought and thinking of a reply to answer Oriki's question. He wasn't quite fond of Saiyans, and if one was here, then who knows what it could do. If the Saiyan planned on destroying the village, Oriki would put up a hell of a fight since this was his... But then Oriki had a thought. The village is struggling with the GWM at the moment, and maybe Oriki could ask this Saiyan for help... How the hell didn't they see a flying person with a tail come in?
Then the Saiyan replied. "Eh, I was messing around in the southern islands. This seemed like a nice place, so I stopped here." Oriki took that as a compliment. The village was indeed beautiful, and quite big at that. The majority of the island was the forest that had thick, spruce trees that had beautiful bushy green leaves. There was also the worshipping area, far off into the South. It took up a small sector of the island and there was a path that led to it. The area was surrounded by pink leaved trees.
Then there was the town, which was a small village with Japanese style buildings. The Saiyan stared at Oriki for a moment before speaking again. "Sorry if I'm not supposed to be here." he replied. Oriki shook his head. "I don't get you people. First off you're attacking us, and now you're just... all apologetic?"
"You're not supposed to be here, no... but I think you are trespassing, and I think we could compromise on something..." Oriki awaited a reply. Hopefully this would get rid of the GWM for good.

Raisu frowned and squinted at the man. What did he mean by that, Raisu hadn't- And then it hit him. He'd noticed Raisu's tail. The swordbearing man knew Raisu was of a Saiyan descent. And for all he knew, Raisu had been part of the invasion. Raisu sighed and shook his head. This is what it was like to be living in this world.
Not that it mattered. The boy quickly changed the subject. So he was indeed trespassing, but apparently there was room to negotiate on that end. Raisu nodded. He was intruding after all, he might as well go with the flow. But just what did the boy want? Was it money? Labor? Or something else entirely.
"Sure, we could figure something out. What you need?"
He looked at the boy expectantly, and then it came to him. Something to add as an after thought.
"Oh, yeah. I grew up on Earth, just like you. Not a full Saiyan, if the hair didn't give it away."
He grinned as he said this. Raisu had no intention to be rude, but he felt it needed to be said. He had to correct judgement passed on him when he could. Couldn't let sterotypes define him, could he?

The Saiyan frowned and squinted at Oriki. After a pause, he replied to Oriki's question about the help. "Sure, we could figure something out. What you need?" Raisu looked at Oriki as if he expected something. "Oh, yeah. I grew up on Earth, just like you. Not a full Saiyan, if the hair didn't give it away." Oriki frowned.
"Earthling or not, you're still the same to me and the villagers. I still don't like you, but you know the saying... the enemy of my enemy is my friend." he spoke in a brash tone. Oriki walked 3 foot closer to the Saiyan. "If you're going to help me," he said as he crouched down, "I need to know your name." After that reply, Oriki continued.
"A mercenary group took over my- our- village and my father is one of the commanding officers. I need to get rid of the Grey Wolf Mercenaries, or GWM for short. I also need to kill my father." Oriki said that last part quietly, he didn't like it when he or anyone else spoke about the 'Traitor of the People'.

The man seemed not to care for Raisu's birth or nature, not that Raisu blamed him. The world was in chaos. One had to be careful who they trusted. If one didn't, they might end up six feet under the next day. Raisu, in his good nature, was a little to trusting. He'd be glad to help the boy with whatever he needed, if it led to proving himself. He didn't even stop to consider that the boy himself might be laying a trap for Raisu. The boy had asked Raisu's name, a good sign in Raisu's book.
"Raisu."
And then he moved quickly into the meat of the topic, while Raisu listened intently. So, a merc group had taken the village? And his father was a commanding officer? Raisu raised his eyebrows in surprise. What a mess. Nasty business, really. But at least he was up front about his goals: get rid of the mercs and kill his dad. Simple solutions for a messy problem. Hell, Raisu could even understand the part about his father. Raisu wasn't a fan of his own.
"Sure, sounds simple enough. We'll free your village, pal, and make sure they don't bother you anymore."
Raisu cracked his knuckles in anticipation. They couldn't be too tought. A few punches here, a couple kicks there, maybe a ki blast for show. It'd be down right easy. Raisu stretched, the warmth of the sun a comforting feeling. He looked at the boy with a grin.
"So, you know mine. What's your name?"

The Saiyan's name was Raisu. Everyone had funny names these days, even Oriki himself. He couldn't judge. As Raisu stood up and cracked his knuckles, Oriki rose up from his crouched stance. "Sure, sounds simple enough. We'll free your village, pal, and make sure they don't bother you anymore." Raisu sounded determined, almost as if he was trying to prove himself to Oriki. The Saiyan grinned and stretched.
"Straight to the point, I see." Oriki turned around and gestured for Raisu to follow. Raisu moved on to ask Oriki's name. Well, he couldn't just tell him his real name. That would compromise his life, for if Raisu was with the Saiyans, then... things would get ugly fast. "Sable." that's what codenames are for, right? Oriki led the Saiyan through the village.
"You might want to hide that tail. People don't take kindly to Saiyans here." Oriki grinned. "If you touch anyone..." He continued walking through the village until he arrived at the bridge that went to the forest. Oriki ran over the bridge, then turned around. He pulled out a piece of cloth from his satchel.
"You can't know where the secret base is now, can you?" he asked. Oriki went to blindfold Raisu, and if he went along with it Oriki would then pull the blindfold and lead Raisu through the forest. They finally arrived at the forest and Oriki knocked in a pattern on a wishing well. "Scarred Bandit." he spoke. The hatch would open and Oriki assumed Raisu could fly.
"Jump." Oriki pushed Raisu in and followed him by climbing down the ladder. "SABLE, WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?" called out Kitashi. Damn it...

So the boy's name was Sable. Simple and easy to remember. He made a mental note of it for now.
Oriki led Raisu through the village. A nice place, noted Raisu. He suggested that Raisu ought to hide his tail, a good suggestion in truth. He went to grab his tail, hurriedly stuffing it in his pants as they walked. Not the best way to do it, but it would suffice.
There was an edge to this boy, implying violence if Raisu tried to harm anyone within the village. Raisu would never, but the idea that the boy would attack him proved to be an amusing one. Raisu far outstripped him.
They stopped, and the boy took cloth from his satchel. He intended to blindfold Raisu, in order to keep his base secret. Raisu nodded, letting himself be blindfolded with ease. No need to rock the boat. They walked for some time, in silence.
They came to a stop. The boy knocked, then spoke. Scarred Bandit? Must be code. How fun, thought Raisu.
Jump, came the command. And so he did. He fell to the Earth, hard, landing on his knee. He was, he assumed, at the bottom of a hole. Footsteps above him, someone climbing. On a ladder, perhaps. And then shouting. A man yelling at Sable. Raisu grinned and turned his head about.
"Uh, 'this' is Raisu. And you are?"
And the

Kitashi, Oriki's other friend, stood over Raisu looking at him like he was his next victim. "Who are you, and why the hell did Oriki send you down here?" he growled. Surrounding the Saiyan were about a dozen men, all armed with swords and guns, wearing bandannas and armour. Oriki suddenly leapt down and hit the ground with a thud. "It's a Saiyan. See the tail?" he gestured for Raisu to show it.
"A Saiyan?" yelled the men. One of them went to attack Raisu, but Oriki jumped in front of him. "Apparently he'll help us with the 'Wolf' problem." said Oriki. "He'll be treated as a prisoner." replied Kitashi. "That's fine. Never liked Saiyans. Especially not since they attacked us." Kitashi nodded slowly, then pointed at three men.
"To the cells." The three men pointed swords at Raisu. They led him to cells where they attempted to threw him in. If Raisu played along one man would hurry off back to Oriki and two would stay for guard. The cell was rusty and grubby, with the bed being just a mat on the floor and a small lantern on a broken wooden table. The resistance obviously didn't like their prisoners.

Raisu could not say he was happy with the reception he'd been given. Such racism and ignorance abound in this place, even if they were nervous and scared. The way they talked about him, might have been the worst. The way they talked about him as if he wasn't even there, as if he was not a person. Yes, he could understand that Saiyans had attacked their people. Anyone would hate that. Hell, Raisu had been prepared for prejudice when he came in here. But he'd not been expected to be talked about like an animal. But he'd shown off his tail for them anyway.
And now they wanted to cage him like one. Not that the cage would be able to stop him. Raisu was a little too strong for that. Surely they had to know that. Unless it was some kind of special cage. If it was, maybe he'd be in a little trouble. Just a touch.
But for now, he'd just play along. No need to upset folks anymore than they already were. Especially now that three men were pointing swords at him. Again, not that he feared convential weapons. But, fighting these folks wasn't what he was here to do. Raisu let them lead him to the cells, still blindfoled. The dank smell of the cells pervaded. If he couldn't see them, he could smell them. Raisu couldn't imagien they tended to these often. He let them put him inside the cell, and he frowned.
"What a warm welcome," he said aloud, "You people sure know how to treat a guy."
