Rontonyte
Starting Planet: Anywhere [Except Vegeta/Arcose Space]
Type: Alien A
Starting Power: 400-800
Appearance: Generally, Rontonnytes are fairly tall and of atheletic builds. Though they are more 'triangular' in shape rather than broad or square-like. Their skin looks metallic and often comes in dull colours. Instead of hair they grow a varied amount of spines on their head that are darker than their regular skin. They also have no 'normal' facial features besides eyes; which have a neon glow to them, and can be any colour that is different from their skin.. Yet they can somehow still speak... Quite the oddity. For clothing, most prefer cloaks and 'medieval' types of clothing that don't restrict movement.
Background: These stalwart warriors originate from the far western galaxy on a planet known as Rontoh'bel. This planet is strangely egg shaped rather than spherical, causing a strange array of wildly changing biomes. It is geographically divided into two sectors; the Highlands and the Long Wilderness, which encompass the thinner and wider parts of the planet respectively. These sectors are kept seperate by what is known as the Bladed Canyon, and endless pit that crosses the middle of the planet. Crossing it on foot is seen as impossible because of the extreme level of gravity that the canyon exudes. It is said that horrendous monsters dwell in it, yet they only come out when presented with a worthy challenge...
The Highland capital of Tolemac is governed by the House of Calbryn, under the guidance of Queen Exia Calbryn and King Ron Deight. Residents of Tolemac and neighboring settlements tend to very adventurous and fiercely brave. The Long Wilderness capital of Lisardggy is vast enough to have been split into two parts; the science-driven metropolis of Dragsa and the mystical valleys of Miehleh. Lisardggy is ruled by a pair of siblings. First Thinker Miselten governs Dragsa while Spirit Seeker Valchyne watches Miehleh. Tolemac and Lisardggy mostly keep in contact via telepathy since the gravity of the Bladed Canyon is so treacherous. If physical visits are required, a system known as the 'Catavaulter' is used to launch people over the gap.
In recent years, some Rontonytes have requested that the Catavaulter technology be a base for spacetravel. Naturally, Miselten and their team of scientists were successful in this endeavor, allowing many of their people to have journeys across the vastness of space...
Name Pun Theme(s): Rontonytes follow the theme of blades and weapons, mythical or otherwise.
General Examples:
Simatari, Kazeshi, Gladyus. (Scimitar, Wakazashi & Gladius)
'Canon' Examples:
Exia-Calbryn, Rondeight, Miselten, Valchyne (Excalibur, Arondight, Mistilteinn & Falchion)
Unique Characteristics:
- Bladeborn - A Rontonyte is born with a weapon that represents their inner potential. They can gain offensive techniques in a unique way as well. This is done via
Zeni, thus 'purchasing' another weapon at a cost of 500z, much like the android shop's built in weapons. The techs their weapons have are locked to that weapon (and cannot be changed/removed/whatever). To gain NEW for each weapon (or to improve them), you will need to gain the standard 6000 PL per tech.
- Sheathspace - A mystical space where a Rontonyte's weapons are stored. They can spend 1 turn switching a weapon out to use the techniques associated with it, and cannot use techs while doing so. The weakness of being unable to use techs while switching can be trained away at 10,000 PL
- Weapon Empathy - Rontonytes are born with an innate understanding of weapons, and can speak in the 'Language Of Blades' as well as feel the emotions of weapons.
- Symbiotic Weaponry - Weapons that a Rontonyte has ownership of can only be used by them. Even if they were to attempt to allow another to use their weapons, the gesture would fall short.
Hybrid Traits:
- Battleborn - A Rontonyte can be born with a weapon that represents their inner potential, and it also shows traits of their other parent. [For example a Rontonyte/Saiyan will be born with knuckledusters, a Rontonyte/Ryashi will be born with a whip and so on]. These hybrids cannot however gain more weapons and tech's via zeni. If a hybrid has dominant Rontonyte traits (thus with their transformations being flavored as Rontonyte ones) they won't need to amass more weapons, as Hybrid modifiers and requirements are different.
- Lesser Weapon Empathy - Rontonyte hybrids are generally born with an innate understanding of weaponry. They are unable to fully speak the 'Language Of Blades'. Instead they simply feel the weapon's emotions.
- Pseudo-symbiotic Weaponry - Weapons that a Rontonyte hybrid has ownership of can be used by them and people that they fully trust.
Transformations:
Rough Edges - x3 - A Rontonyte's initial transformation. Nothing changes aesthetically aside from the weapons they happen to be using start to look a bit more... Feral, lets say. While rage or desperation isn't exactly required, this transformation is harsh on the body, causing the user to operate at 33% less power after the transformation runs out, if used for longer than 3 turns per thread.
*Honed Edges - x3 - Trained version of Rough Edges, can be used at will with no downsides. - Requires 25,000 PL & 2 Weapons
Sharpening - x7 [Permanent] - After properly training their previous transformation and their physical body, a Rontonyte will then train their mind and spirit. Whilst searching their soul, they will come across a unique realization; thus unlocking a truly sharpened edge. Aesthetically, a Rontonyte that has reached this level shall see their metallic skin gain more sheen and their form will become more chiseled. - Requires 70,000 PL & a personal epiphany/intense meditation training.
Dual Wielding - x16 - Reaching the next step of evolution in the life of a Rontonyte requires the acquisition of more reliable weaponry. Upon doing so, a Rontonyte must then train to deeply understand each and every weapon at their disposal, forge a closer bond with the spirits in these weapons and show leadership and courage to the spirits. When they have done so, they can reach a new form that allows them to wield two weapons at a time. Standard swapping limitations still apply for either weapon, and a turn must be used to switch. - Requires 150,000 PL & 8 total weapons in possession.
Knighthood - x23 - Having obtained great power on their own, the next rite of passage for a Rontonyte is to forge strong bonds of friendship and respect. This can be done through battle or just by socializing, or even both. Some Rontonytes can reach this level by finding the perfect rival and learning from clashes with them. This form replaces Dual Wielding yet retains the ability that it gives; wielding two weapons at a time. What changes here is that TWO weapons can be swapped out in one turn instead of just one. Aesthetically, dermal armor begins to grow, representing the bond of friendship or rivalry. - Requires 250,000 PL & True respect earned from another being OR by making an arch rival.
One With The Sword - x40[Permanent] - To progress further, a Rontonyte may engage in a form of sacrificial ritual wherein they must fight the spiritual projection of a weapon that they feel closest to. Should they lose, this form will not be obtained, but they can always try again. The other method of reaching this level of power is more desperate; perhaps during a fight to the death, should they have a sufficient level of trust between a weapon, they can skip the more formal ritual and unite through blood and steel instead. Aesthetic changes include the armor of the Rontonyte adopting qualities of the weapon used. The techs associated with this weapon can now be used at any time due to being permanently united with its user. A Rontonyte can still dual wield and switch two weapons in one turn as with Knighthood. - Requires 400,000 PL & 'Sacrifice' of 1 weapon.
Call To Arms - x48 - The Final stage in the evolution of a Rontonyte, armor only fitting of a true knight emerges simply via the will of the ones worthy, representing every part of their journey thus far; their anger, their sorrow, their fears, blood, and tears. Their friendships, their enemies and their ideals. Very few end up able to reach such phenomenal heights, as it requires such a vast amount of energy and unbreakable bonds of loyalty to their comrades, mental mastery and unwavering conduct of their personal knights code. Even though it is not a permanent state, it is highly unwise to challenge such a being as their mastery of combat is barely rivalled. In this form, they can use FOUR weapons at once, yet they can still only change two per turn. Engage only if you are ready for the might of a legendary knight of Rontoh'bel! - Requires 500,000 PL, 16 total weapons in possession & Telekinesis OR 460,000 PL, Telekinesis & Saga Defeat
