Val's flight made a sound not unlike a jet engine. Wind shrieking past his duster, sending it and his scarf flapping as he carried his two wards tightly in his arms. His aura flaring as he tried to push every last inch of power out of his system. This was more then trying to make Vivi stop screaming, at least now it was. The energy signature behind them was another Saiyan. And one a little less friendly then Val or Raisu were. "By Brina's frosted breath, he just won't give up." He growled, jostling the scared little girl in his arms and her dead friend. The Saibaman hadn't been alive when Val scooped it up; but if it had been Vivi's friend he knew a few tricks on how to bring it back. The Empire Grunt followed close behind, gaining slowly, but gaining none the less. The journey north had gone well, taking the flights in small hops and skips to keep his little friend from having a heart attack; for whatever good it did him. Maybe he shouldn't have gone so far so fast in the beginning, or maybe the Saiyan had been following them since they left South Capitol. It didn't matter now; he was hunting them. I could probably take him Val thought to himself, casting a glance over his shoulder. The little orange dot that was his hunter hadn't grown for a few minutes. Showing just how hard the two were pushing in the flight. But the moment he started losing he'd go for the girl. Gotta make this quick.
"Vivi. I'm really sorry 'bout this." Val started; swinging his flight up to nearly vertical. Going as high as fast as he could; breaking apart a cloud in his energy wake. Turning the large puff ball into many smaller puff balls. The Empirical Saiyan did the same at more of an angle. Gaining in closing in on them. Before his little ward could ask what he was sorry about.....he dropped her. And Yoda's body. "I'll handle him before you hit the ground! Promise!" Val yelled over the wind, he'd gotten the time just right. No sooner then he'd let go of his wards then he found he was in desperate need of both his limbs. Fists and legs connecting in a flash of impact. Flaring back and forth quickly and roughly; Val could only thank whoever was up there listening that it was a low class warrior that was sent after them. The trick wasn't beating him; it was ending him quick enough so that his tiny amigo didn't end up a smear on the ground.
Still, Val was confident. He had at least two minutes before she ended on the earth. As long as she didn't try to dive; but he had no inclination as to why she would even think about doing that. She was probably crying. That idea broke the old soldiers heart a bit, but it had to be done. He'd rather her mad at him then dead; he would buy her all the candy in the world once this was over with. But for now; his callous fist smashed through his foes chin. Sending the opposition wheeling. The follow up attack kept him on his toes; flashing fists pummeling in and out of the now open guard.
Hang on Vivi, just try not to die.

(Thread PL: 30,856. Weights on. Weighted PL: 7,714.)
Raisu was running along the road, fast as he could. He was fast, at least fast enough to keep his new associates in sight. He'd love to be able to fly alongside them, but he couldn't. At least for now. He would be able too soon, though. He'd met so many folks who could fly, and each had commented on his own lack of flight.
Just how far north was Lucia? The world seemed to blur by. He never really ran this fast. He'd always been one to take the time to go slow and enjoy his journeys. But now was a very different occasion. If he'd taken the time to enjoy his way up north, he'd lose them. Or, worse, he'd be attacked and sidetracked. Or they would be attacked, and there'd be nothing he could do to help. And that seemed to be the case.
An energy signature was rapidly approaching. A pursuing Saiyan? It must be. Why couldn't they let anyone go in peace? Raisu turned his eyes to sky, and he saw them, speeding along. Arlic's aura was burning bright like a beacon as he went through the air, leaving streaks of energy. And the Saiyan behind him was doing the same, rapidly approaching with his ill intent. Did he intend to fight Arlic? While he was carying the thief girl? There was no honor in that, no challenge.
But what was Arlic doing? Raisu could barely see him as he sped up in the air, ascending. Was he intending to lose the Saiyan in the clouds? Raisu could see him no longer, but only feel him and the pretty girl. And suddenly, the two signatures parted ways. Raisu's heart sank. He had dropped her. And then came Arlic, speeding out of the clouds to engage the Saiyan. Shit, thought Raisu. The girl, she was still falling. But what could he do? What should he do? He couldn't engage the Saiyan from here.
"Crap, crap, crap," he said, his voice marked by his breathing. He had no choice. He sped towards the thief's signature, praying that he would make it below her before she hit the ground. What could he do? Catch her, maybe. That's the only thing that formed in his mind. Fear grew in his mind. He just had to run, and hope he could make it.

Aside from the slight shivers that could be seen running through out her body Vivi was frozen, stiff like a board and not from the cool blowing winds which swept across her exposed body but from fear, straight, pure, deadly fright held its hand at her heart causing her to remain still as a deeply rooted tree. She was no fan of heights, even less so than she might speak to avoid any teasing from others, but now as she clung onto Apple man for dear life the fear could easily be seen in her body language even more so in her wide purple eyes, like they could pop from her head any second. It had not been her choice in the matter, in fact Vivi would have much rather preferred to stay and deal with the Saiyan than continue to soar through the skies as she was now, she could handle pain well enough, her fears, not so much.
They had been flying for quite some time at this point, it could have been hours or seconds for all Vivi knew with her mind being in a constant state of panic, time seemed like nothing now, for all the girl knew this was her life, forever being lifted into the sky until she died. Eyes glazed over slightly no attention had been paid to her surrounds, only the faint, white glimpse of clouds as they rolled passed them, she hadn't even taken notice of the Saiyan that had been hot on their trail for some time. The Saiyan was but a faint dot in the corner of Vivi's awareness, having shut almost everything done but the need and will to survive the rest of the world was a blur to her yet the dot was always there, always following. Somewhere in the back of her mind the thoughts lingered of what the colored smudge could be, whatever thought that did come to surface was quickly sent cascading back down into emptiness of her fear drenched mind.
On the way there Vivi's soft complaints had virtually become none existent, finding that it took far to much concentration to move let alone speak she had abandoned the effort not long after she had been swung from her feet and forced into the sky. It was only now, when Apple man spoke from a long gap that any resemblance of understanding came from Vivi as she muttered a small grunt to show she was listening, or at least responding to someone speaking.
"What was he sorry for?"
The thought appeared in her head for a moment before it was sent crashing back into her sub conscience by a washing wave of fear, deep down Vivi knew she should have asked, should have taken some interest as to why he was apologizing for something, perhaps he said that towards bring her up here in the first place... but he could have said that after they landed.
Her question was answered quickly, much more so than Vivi would have liked as with a burst of acceleration the angle which that they had been cruising at for some time changed. While once parallel to the surface of the world they rose, straight up towards the growing clouds above them, and she screamed. Had the movement not been so sudden she might have merely just kept quite or passed out from the overwhelming nature of it but now her high pitched voice wailed out across the sky with fear laden deeply in it. Locking up from her frozen state her body squeezed all the harder onto Apple's man as now her nails were digging much deeper into his clothes and skin, normally Vivi would have taken concern not to hurt the man but in her fear driven state all she could focus on was making it out of this moment alive and in one piece.
"This was indeed something to be sorry for!"
Vivi thought as she now dismissed her early thoughts as to his apology.
Heart slamming against her rib cage Vivi could feel her breath growing all the more shallow than before, it was unclear of how much more of this she could take and what was coming next for the poor girl would be far to much for her. In a wide arch of his arms Vivi's eyes nearly popped from their sockets as Apple man release her from his grip and the pulling weight of gravity could be felt taking control of her body.
"Noooooooo!"
Vivi yelled as she made desperate attempts to latch back onto the man but to no luck could she fully take a grasp on him, her nails clawing and tearing at his jacket in a wild failing motion as with every ounce of strength she had went into reaching out to him.
It was an overwhelming sensation of nausea that sank in the pit of her stomach once she knew there was no way she was going to be able to latch onto the man and for the moment the only thing keeping her aloft was the excess speed she had gained from being launched into the air, once that ran out... she would fall, fall all the way down to the earth below. Tears formed in the corner of her eyes as she turned to look towards Apple man.
"Why...."
It wasn't even a question, just a long draw out comment as her eyes fluttered for a moment till they dropped to hid her teary eyes from the world.
With her vision faded out she lost all consciousnesses of what was to come next, she hadn't been sure if her body wished to spare her the panic from falling from such a height or if her heart had merely given up with the blood surging through her veins near the speed of light but she was out, falling through the sky. Silently her body was battered by the ever increasing speeds which she fell at, like a purple blur she fell all the faster towards the approaching ground, completely unaware that she was coming upon her death.

With a few final blows; the old soldier charged his aura around his arms. Arcs of bio-electricity running down them before both palms were smacked into suprised foes chest. Snarling in the heat of battle; Val let the Valkyrie Pulse run through. Sending the Empire Grunt back with a burst of energy; his limbs and body in general twitching in after bursts of static before the foe started plummeting to the ground. Val had little time to check the outcome however; already turning and flaring down after the dwindling form of his friend. He was mentally swearing, trying to push ever last little bit of power he had into his flight. Speeding faster then he ever had, his sight starting to darken; the force on his body tremendous. Still; Vivi was small, and Val was probably twice her weight. And aiming down too. He could make the barest impression of Raisu down on the earth. Better not risk him having to catch the tiny one, the impact might still kill her.
Arm reached out, closing the distance between him and her. And he did; of course. Arms wrapping around the knocked out girl as his body slammed into the rock and dirt of Earth. Gauging a wedge in the ground like a dud missile, skidding across it and leaving a trail of destruction as broad arms did their best to shield the lass. It felt like his back was being burnt raw by a flame thrower; like a ship entering orbit without any armor on it. Finally, the crushing skid ended. Leaving the Saiyan with his ward tucked neatly into his chest. Spitting a glob of blood to the side where it was hastily absorbed into the freshly dug up earth. Head fell back, grunting in pain as his vision swam. "Hah. Let's see a chubby Majin do that sh*t." he coughed. Good thing the alien was already dead, else he'd have had to try and grab it too. At least Saibamen can fly. How the hell did Raisu get around?
He got up slowly, cradling the little xeno in his arm. Waving the other limply at the approaching form of his hybrid amigo. "Hah! You see that crap Rai? Weak grunt thought he could work one up on old Val, but lemme-" His boasting was cut off as a beam of light impacted his back. Sending him sprawling in the dirt. Still doing his best to shield the girl; he tossed her forward. Hoping she'd roll somewhere hidden before he collapsed. Eyes white; he was already uncousious before he hit the floor. The whump of heavy form falling; the shocked Saiyan Grunt standing battered but alive on the lip of the crater.
Let's hope Vivi wakes up, or Raisu can fight after sprinting across a country.
Cause, you know. Knocked out old soldier.

Raisu felt one final burst in the air above him, an attack from one of the Saiyans battling it out. A signature faded away, growing faint. Still alive. The other sped towards the thief girl, attempting to intercept. Raisu could barely make out the speeding bullet of a man, but the now familiar gruff energy of the man made it obvious who it was: Arlic. He'd beat the Saiyan pursuer, and just in the nick of time. The girl was rapidly approaching the ground, like some kind of human anvil.
Arlic caught her with barely a second to spare. Raisu's heart skipped a beat. He'd seen close calls before, but never quite like this. Arlic slammed into the ground, his body acting as a shield between the girl and the harsh ground. He sped along the ground, ripping up dirt and vegetation as he went, like some kind of land shark. That had to hurt, thought Raisu. Even for someone as durable as a Saiyan. Or perhaps not. Raisu knew enough about fullblooded Saiyans that it was not outside the realm of possibility for this to be a daily occurrence. Crazy as all hell, but not impossible.
Crazy as it sounded, Raisu was actually a bit jealous. There was something about the idea of that the got him going, something that put a feeling of light hearted anxiety in his chest. He'd really have to learn to fly soon enough. As much as he enjoyed running and walking, it just wasn't practical. He felt this lack of practicality as his chest heaved when he came to a stop in front of the now dust and dirt laden Saiyan. He grinned as the Saiyan begin to stand and speak. Thank Kami the older man was okay, now they just needed to get to Lucia and this would be all over. They couldn't be far now, Raisu began to think. He opened his mouth to comment on the rather insane display that had occurred before him, but that thought was cut short by a flash of light.
The Saiyan fell back and onto the cold, hard ground, but not before tossing the girl away from him. Raisu's mind fluttered to three different places: the girl, Arlic, and the now very obvious Saiyan standing on the edge of the crater. All three very much alive, but only one conscious. And the one who happened to be standing seemed very angry.
Raisu sighed between breaths, his chest still falling and rising from his sprint. Nothing could ever be that easy. There was only something or someone who just had to interfere and make a pain of themselves. And these days, it had to be Saiyans. Angry, hard to kill Saiyans. Those with whom he shared half a heritage, sometimes to his dismay. Raisu's tail twitched, that Saiyan appendage. Oh, he was ready for a fight. He welcomed it even. It would be good exercise, and he liked the thrill of it. A small grin peaked over his face. This would be good.
And then his eyes flickered back to the girl and Arlic. No, it wouldn't. He couldn't really cut loose. Not here, while there were two people knocked out and vulnerable. If it weren't for that, this would be a downright easy fight. The Saiyan was already injured from his skirmish with Arlic, and Raisu was relatively fresh, despite the run. He could feel his second wind coming, adrenaline leaking into his muscles. Sure, he was tired, but this is what he was born to do.
If it weren't for these weights, he wouldn't even have to try. But taking off the weights would take time, leaving him exposed. Or worse, leaving Arlic and the girl unprotected. Those who were backed into corners or on the brink of death often did desperate things. Desperate, scummy things.
"So, I guess I can't convince you to just leave?"
Raisu spoke to the Saiyan, but he already knew the answer. It was only confirmed when the Saiyan laughed at him, shaking his head derisively. Damn, thought Raisu, no such luck. He'd jsut have to get up close and personal, and hope to keep the Saiyan distracted. He charged at the Saiyan, screaming, channeling that same speed he had moments before as he was fleeing towards Lucia.
He dived at the Saiyan with a flying kick, a blow that landed square in the chest and sent the Saiyan sliding back into the crater. Still standing, of course. Nothing can ever be easy, came a thought as the Saiyan charged Raisu, fists up. The two began to trade blows, exactly as Raisu wanted. Now, hopefully the rest goes just as smoothly. But somehow he knew it wouldn't. Life was never quite the simple.

Her face was still, not a single movement from her lips, or her eyes as they were shut gently in a almost sleep like state Vivi found herself in. Her body continued to fall through the sky after Apple man had tossed her from his grip; for whatever reasons he had chosen to do so she hadn't come to an conclusion before passing out from the stress which the situation pressed down on her shoulders. Hair whipped wildly around her face with her continued descent through her blue surrounds, occasionally Vivi could come crashing down upon a cloud only for her form to reappear seconds later as she breached through the underside of the puffy white creations, each time it happened gentle wisps of white would flutter about in her wake only to be caught in the winds and blown away. For the most part it was a gentle ride with the winds buffering her clothes about in a haphazard fashion as they did her hair, and if Vivi hadn't been terrified of heights it would have surly been a flight which she would have enjoyed.
In her peaceful form it very much looked like Vivi was sleeping, her thoughts even lingered forming into shapes, places and even people, however it was more of a nightmare for even in her unconsciousness state, she wasn't sure how, but she knew that she was still falling but couldn't do a single thing about it. She wondered if this was hell was like, facing ones worst fears possible while being completely defenseless to what may come from it all, at least in reality she could only fall to her death once, in hell she imagine it would be on a repeat for all of time. The thought didn't help to calm her much, after all, chances were with the life of thieving she led Vivi would most likely wind up in the sulfur pits of hell for the crimes she committed, personally Vivi didn't consider what she had done to survive much in the way of being a bad person, for the most part she thought herself kind, and compassionate, then again, it wasn't as though she could pass judgement on herself when the day came... or in this case that day was today.
----
"I can't! I'm afraid!"
The faint voice rang out from the corner of her mind, a voice from a distant memory, it was her own.
"Come on ye 'ittle lass, nothing to 'orry 'bout."
The response came from a worn, gruff voice, one that had lived a long life and weathered through many obstacles to get where it was now.
"Nuuuuu!"
Her voice rose with a rattling shake of her head towards the man's request, she was adamant to stay were she was now, clinging onto a I-beam of a building while an older man tugged heavily on her outstretched leg.
"Ya 'aking this 'ard on a old man! Now, let, go!"
He pulled once more his words straining with the amount of effort he put into trying to break Vivi's hold onto the scarp of metal, to no luck did Vivi budge and inch, her nails driving themselves all the deeper into the metal's surface.
"By Natolis left testicle girl, when did ye become so strong!"
He hollered loudly, finally giving up on the action of removing Vivi from her position he released her leg with a sigh, not a second after he had done so Vivi quickly wrapped both legs around the safety of the pole with a gentle sigh of comfort.
"Let me get this 'raight. Ya ok with rocketin' down upon a 'anet while in a ship and tearin' through its 'kies but takin' a tour of the vast mountains of Hikila is to much for ye??"
His rough voice rose with question, his hands landing to fall onto his hips with slight disappointment.
"To high! To scary! I might fall!"
Vivi cried softly, her wails being muffled by her face pressing into the poles surface.
"What's the difference? Either way we're still going to be thousands of feet above the planet and-"
At the mention of height Vivi began to cry loudly, her body shaking heavily with each sob that broke through her lips leaving the old man to sigh with a open hand placed over his face as he turned to face the opposite direction.
"Look there's nothing to be afraid of. It's a guided tour, with all that safety crap and I'll be there the whole time, you can even hold my hand."
He paused for a moment to let his words settle into Vivi's head.
"That sound fair?"
He questioned, but hearing no sounds of babbling the old man turned around to see Vivi looking from over her shoulder at the man, her cheeks streaming lightly with tears.
"Really?"
She sniffled softly, her nose rosy pink from its constant running.
"Really, really."
He chuckled with a warm smile coming to his lips to see that had gotten through to Vivi so easily; she wasn't a hard person to convenience as long as friendship or food was involved.
Standing to a rise Vivi whipped the back of her hand against her eye to ward off any more tears, coming to the old man side her fingers wrapped around his large thick hand, worn from years of working with them; Vivi liked the feel of them, kind like a leather chair that had been sitting around for far to long.
"...Can we get ice cream too?"
Vivi sheepishly asked, her foot lightly skidding across the ground while he eyes glanced at him with a rosy tint coming to her face.
"Ah lass... What will ye do without me? One day ya going to learn how to deal with 'ights without me."
Hand coming to rest on Vivi's head he patted her gently while a light purr humming from Vivi's throat.
"Don't worry. I just won't go anyway high up without you."
The memory flashed in her head leaving her to think just how wrong she had been to ever think she could go the rest of her life without coming in direct contact with heights.
----
It was then that Vivi felt a sudden force against her body which caused her to shudder in her unconsciousness state, something had run into her, and it wasn't stopping there as Vivi could feel her body being bounced about time and time over though none of it really hurt. There was something wrapped around her, warm and protective like a blanket but built like a tower shield that kept any harm from nearing her and then they stopped. No longer was the rushing winds bellowing around her face or the constant feeling of falling... had she died? Vivi would have thought death would have been much more painful that what she had experienced, then again, she had never died before, falling into a hard surface should have at least amounted to some pain, she thought.
Her senses were slow to come back from her dream state with the memories low to fade back into the depths of her mind, she was aware of her surroundings, aware she was moving and that someone was holding her, it was not her eyes that told her who it was but her nose.
"Apples...."
The word floated in her mind with her nose twitching gently against the air; while Apple man mostly smelled like a burning plant there was a fine undercoating to apples to him, something Vivi had picked up on when she first met him.
Her worries became to find slightly knowing that is was in his caring arms, however there was still some anger towards the man since he had deiced to toss her into the air like a rag doll and while he had no idea of her fear of heights it still wasn't a very fond thing to do. Things were quick to change in those few second, with the coming explosion which sent Apple man reeling in pain, at the same time Vivi was flung off once more as she come to a tumbling stop some distance away.
"That once hurt."
Vivi groaned gently with her body choosing this moment to awaken once more, unlike her usually day time naps this rest had not been so restful.
In a groggy state Vivi slowly pushed herself onto her elbow, eyes casting down ware she took stock of the small cuts and bruises that ran the course of her body, most of them were in exposed area's were her clothes hadn't helped to protect her body. Dusting herself off Vivi's eyes trained around the area to fall upon Pretty boy facing off against a rather bulky, and tall man, already Vivi could tell that this new face was not a kind person, his eyes were far to dark for that. She reeled backwards a bit at the sight of Pretty boy going at him with such speed but her eyes were quick to turns towards the other two forms that lay nearby, those of Yoda and Apple man. Vivi had no recoil at seeing Yoda's still form as she knew he had been dead for some time but Apple man, that was another reaction.
"No!"
Feet sliding weakly across the dense rock Vivi skid across the distance between then and then came to a running stop at his side, her hands bracing against his arm.
"Are you ok?"
She shook him gently hoping he was just resting there, but the smell of burning flesh was thick on the air and coming from his body, he was hurt, how bad, Vivi couldn't say for she wasn't well versed in all things medical aside from small cuts.
"No, no, no."
She shook him a little harder then stopped, if he was badly hurt it would be a poor idea to move him so, it could make the wound worse and having no idea just were he had taken the hit she couldn't be sure how to best move him.
"Please be ok...."
She spoke softly with her ears drooping against the hem of her hat.
Off to one side Vivi watched as Pretty boy and the other man went back and forth in the fight and while Vivi wished to help she wasn't sure how much, if any, she would be, if anything she might just get in the way, after all she could hardly see the movements of their body; how was she supposed to face against someone like that? Her eyes glanced over Apple man still form and then back to where pretty boy way facing off against the other man, while Vivi knew she couldn't directly face off against the brutish man she had other ways of helping.
Running her hand through Apple man's thick, coarse hair once Vivi leapt to her feet once more and swiftly began to run for cover, all the while her energy signature dropping as far as it possibly could go.

The Grunt let a pained noise from his throat as he faught the hybrid. If it had been a fair up fight; Val could have handled it. But it had not been; and he was out of the game for the time foreseeable. Matching blows with Raisu for a short time, but the damage was done. After being forced to fly hard to keep up with the fleeing old soldier; and getting the full bang of Val's Pulse in the chest; he just wasn't up to par for another protracted fight. But he was a member of the Empire, and a darker Saiyan. Refusing to give up until he was knocked out; collapsing into the ground as a battered mess of broken bone and skin. The dust settled; and luckily it was for the odd trio.
The old soldier slammed his fist into the dirt; knuckles sinking a few inchs into soil as he hefted himself up. Wiping trickle of blood clear as he tottered onto his boots. Nearly crouching as he got his breath. "Gettin' too old for this crap." he grunted; chest heaving for a few minutes as he slowly got his strength back. His shoulders flexed; old bone and worn muscles cracking audibly as he got some of his strength back. The tested endurance of a pure-blood Saiyan shining under his age and grime. His dark eyes cast to the knocked out form of the grunt; and he hefted a hand. "Vivi, look away." With teeth flaring in a pained snarl as the dark blue beam formed in his palm. "Grim Gun." He mumbled; the flash of energy seered the eyes white; all that was left of the once opponent a burnt and scorched patch of ground. Stepping over to the tiny girl; he scooped her back up without a second word or glance back. Eyes glazed over in an almost icy sheen. He walked for a few moments; leaning over to scoop something up near the fallen Saibaman. Planting it into Vivi's hand with his own suprisingly gentle digits. The still wet seed staining her palm. "Plant it. Yoda'll come back." he grunted. Then beconed for Raisu to come over; obviously planning on picking the smaller hybrid up.
"Not going to be able to go fast. But it'll get us where we need to go."

Finally, the hostile Saiyan collapsed. Bruised and battered, he fell to the ground before Raisu. Raisu's breathing was hard. Running across the countryside, than getting into a fight with a Saiyan grunt was not the easiest on the body. Not that the Saiyan had been too much of a match for him. The Saiyan has already taken quite the beating from Arlic. Raisu stared at him as he laid broken on the ground. Damn, he thought, these guys were durable. But it was over now. Raisu's mind reached out and brushed against the Saiyan's aura, the faintest of signatures still pulsing. Alive, but beaten to all Hell.
And soon, Raisu felt a presence beside him: Arlic. He stood in front of the grunt, and raised a hand. The veteran warrior raised a hand, and words came from his mouth: 'Grim Gun'. The name of an attack, as was evident by the flash of light that came from the man's palm. Raisu's heart skipped a beat as the light washed over the Saiyan grunt. Why kill him, thought Raisu. He'd been finished. No way he'd be getting back up.
And, his business completed, the Saiyan stepped away, leaving Raisu alone where the Saiyan used to be. A staggered sigh escaped his lips. The Saiyangrunt had probably killed plenty in his day. Hell, he'd probably killed plenty today. It was the Saiyan invasion after all. But it just didn't sit well with Raisu. Killing put a bad taste in his mouth. He didn't have the stomach for it, really. What did that make him? A coward? Times were tough, and one couldn't afford to be soft. But that's what he was: soft.
The Saiyan called out to them. Time to leave it seemed. Raisu nodded, and stepped away from the scorch mark of where the Saiyan used to be. He joined the thief girl and the Saiyan, and waited for whatever came next. His eyes glanced over Arlic. This man had seen a lot. The killing of a grunt was probably nothing too him. Raisu couldn't judge him for it, not really. It was who he was, how he'd lived. It was how many people lived these days. It just wasn't for him.
"And here I thought, I was going to have to run all the way to Lucia."
Raisu grinned, just a little. Had to break the harsh air of the Invasion somehow.

Vivi had meant to sneak around the boulders that riddled field in which she had come into a rolling stop upon, in doing so it would enable her to over come the weakness against the man who fought against Pretty boy, the two of them going back and forth, each hit rippling the air and causing her ears to flicker about. She wasn't strong, nor nearly fast enough to compete with any of the people here today however if she could get a sneak attack in it was possible she could inflict great damage before the foe had time to defend himself, while it might not defeat the bulky man, or even wound him terribly a secondary front to defend would surly give Pretty boy an opening in which he could inflict serious damage; at least that been the idea of it.
Out of her vision and only known through the sense of her hearing alone Vivi heard the collapse of one of figures as she crouched low, in a prone position behind a concealing rock. A strike of horror went spiraling through her chest thinking it might have been Pretty boy who had fallen at the hands of his assailant. Slowly she moved, first it could be seen that her ears were poking from rim of the rock, followed by hat, then her small face eventually edged its way out towards the clearing. A sigh of relief came from Vivi, her chest releasing a long pent up hold of breath. It had not been Pretty boy who had fallen by the other man, his bloody, misshapen form now sprawled out across the ground. At first glance she thought the man had been beating to death, such a slow and painful manner, she thought, but the raspy, uneven movements from his chest proved that he was still very much alive if not close to the edge of death. Even though the man had ill intent in his eyes Vivi was glad that he had not been slayed; killing wasn't something Vivi was fond of, even if that person had killed others, she could never bring herself to kill another.
Shoulders dropping slightly Vivi scurried from other the top of the rock, skidding down its rough face she landed on the ground with a kick of dust from the impact of her soft leather boots on stone below, in the commotion of everything the earth around the area had been shaken up quite a bit, as obvious from the cracks that now dotted the field. It was hard to believe that people this strong could have a visible effect on the world around them and only just today she had met three alone. Vivi was beginning to wonder if people of such a strength as Pretty boy and Apple man were more common that she might think, and the fact that she had never met one before this point was astonishing.
"Wow Pretty boy, you move fast!"
Vivi chimed happily, she was glad to see it had not been him on the ground even if she felt sad to see the other man in such a way.
It was the shattering sound of earth and its vibrations which caused Vivi to jump, thinking they were under siege again her heart slid into her throat followed by a croaking yelp of fright. It took her a few seconds to realize that it wasn't another foe but Apple man as he rose from the ground, he was in a better condition that the other man by a long shot but the wear and tear on his body could be easily seen, with blood running from the corners of his mouth and the torn and battered clothes he wore.
"Apple man!"
Vivi yelled, more loudly than need be but it was hard for her to control her emotions when they came to rise.
Running over to his side once again in a running stop, dust scuttled around her feet as she crouched down next to the man.
Pulling a small cloth from one of her pockets Vivi began wipe small bloody patches that lined his body, at first glance it had seemed he was riddled with deep wounds across his body but as she cleared the blood away the cuts were much smaller than their blood trails first showed, over all they were superficial, warranting nothing more than rest and a few band aids; neither of which Vivi could give nor had.
"I'm glad you're alright, had me worry there for-"
Vivi began but was cut off before she could finish as Apple man broke through her words, telling her to close her eyes.
Before Vivi could question as to why that was she found out in a flashing arc of his hand with a rippling wave of energy which was directed towards the injured man who still laid on the ground. Had Vivi known what it was Apple man had planned to do, had she been fast enough to even see the movement she would have stopped him without so much as even thinking about it, but she wasn't. In a blink of an eye the man was nothing more than a pile of ashes which quickly was swept away in the winds.
Vivi was stunned after seeing that, it wasn't as though she hadn't seen people die before, after all, she was a pirate and it came with the territory; sometimes people loved their items so much they would rather die than give them up, and so they would. It was the fashion in which Apple man had killed the man that sent shivers down her spine and a cold hand clasped around her usually warm heart; it was an execution. The wounded man hadn't even had a chance at that point, not even so much as a last words, or a moment to pray to his gods, or god; even the pirates Vivi had worked with gave their enemies a chance for that, as was their code of honor.
She couldn't say anything; what was there to say after seeing that? Vivi should have closed her eyes, even looked away but her thought process had been no where near that of Apple man's. It had been in her mind they were simply going to leave him there, so his buddies could pick him up, not to kill him on the spot. She paused in her thought however, the man might not have been so merciful as to let them go, or even give them their final words, it was that which kept her mouth shut. Vivi knew nothing of these people, even less so of the planet and what was happening, it wasn't her place to judge, so for the moment she kept her thoughts to herself.
While in a deep thought Vivi hadn't even noticed Apple man getting to his feet, picking her up or going over to where they where now. Coming upon the twisted and broken body of Yoda he was now resting half way buried in the earth with his blood splattered across it from the great impact upon the ground. There had never been a real mean to bring him away from his resting spot, she would have been glad enough to leave him where he passed but he had gotten caught up in all of this just as Vivi had.
Placing something wet and sticky in her hands Vivi snapped away from her shocked stare only for her eyes to drop towards her cupped hands where a strange seed rested. Before she could get a chance to answer Apple man spoke, his words confused her however and even with her curious nature Vivi kept quite, she hadn't much of a mood to speak right now, her thoughts still lingering on what had happened before. A slight nod of her head was all Vivi responded with, placing the seed into her shirt pocket right above her heart she could have sworn she felt another beat along with the beat of her heart, the idea of shrugged off quickly with the notion of flying once more.
"Please no. I am terrified of heights. Can we walk? I can just walk. I an fine with walking."
She spoke quickly hardly leaving a gap between her words as she did so, clearly Vivi was adamant on never leaving the planets surface unless she was in the safety of a ship.

So, these two were unused to the ways of war. Killing didn't stain his soul or hands anymore, and if he had to drown the Empire in blood to keep his town safe. So be it. That ment these two were under his care now. Power level didn't matter in wars, being the one to hit whenever you could is what won the battle. Honor would get them all killed, and Valliere was not a fool. Broad arms picked both of them up. Ignoring Vivi's protests as he looked over the horizon.
"Do you really want to walk kid. Unless the Saiyans decide that the battle that ended one of their soldiers isn't worth the time."
They'll send someone to check it out, even if it's a Saibamen squad; that'd be too much with him carrying his two ground trapped friends. His head shook, giving the little girl an apologetic look as his energy flared back to life. Staggered a bit from his recent bout with death, the other arm wrapped around Raisu. Hefting the smaller hybrid up into his arms with a flash of pain. His knees nearly buckled but he managed to take off. Going slow, for both his own sake and Vivi's.
It took only a few more hours, the wide plains turning to forests, which lead to mountains. The township of Lucia was tucked between them. A river roaring through its midpoint, the population was a rough ten thousand, and windows were tugged open. People coming out to check as their guardian landed down in front of the town hall. The largest building, with gleaming chunks of broken starship used to build its support beams. It was soon obvious why it was so far off any real city. Aliens and the refugees of the Saiyan War trickled here, swelling it until all walks of life thrived. Val was the only Saiyan.
As he landed, he nearly dropped the two tagalongs, taking a few stumbling steps as his vision swam. He'd have fallen, if a golden haired woman didn't support him briskly. Amethyst optics glancing over the two new comers. Despite her small appearance she supported the old soldier easily enough, gentle hands rubbing him down for wounds. "Lass, Raisu, this is Serenity. My wife." He flashed a grin to try and take the worst out of his lovers glare; obviously thinking the two younglings were to blame for her husbands ragged appearance.
"As always; getting in over your head. The Hybrid has double the power level then you but let me guess-" Her voice swapped, perfectly mimicking the aging mercenaries. An android ability without doubt. "Fighting isn't about power level. It's about heart." Her voice clicked to normal, whispery tone. "Stupid, stupid Captain. You're the only one with a power over ten thousand here and you nearly get yourself killed. James!" She called, a bulbish red alien helping Val stand. "Take him home."
Dusting her icy dress, the android took a moment to regard both Vivi and Raisu. Sighing mentally, she bowed halfway.
"I'm Serenity. Medical Android and Mayor of Lucia. My husband is the informal Sheriff and Peacekeeper. A pleasure, you two must be hungry. I'm sure the Captain was too busy trying to kill something to feed you." She flashed a warm smile; bright eyes glinting with humor.

Raisu allowed himself to be carried through the air. He could have ran. In fact, he felt almost guilty putting more of a burden on the older Saiyan. He didn't have it easy. That fight and crash landing must have taken quite the toll on him. Raisu, on the other hand, was relatively unharmed. How odd it was, being stronger than someone else for once. Most of the folks he met these days, it was the other way around. He had to admit, some part of him took pride in that. Being stronger, being useful. It wasn't everyday he could feel both.
As they flew through the sky, Raisu watched the ground below them fly past. It was lovely, like a bus but faster and higher up. He could get used to this. Man, he'd have to learn how to do this on his own. It seemed everyone and their mother could. It sure was lame being a member of No Fly Club. It couldn't be hard to figure out. No, he gave himself a day, he'd get it. Maybe after his visit to Lucia.
In the distance, Raisu spotted the village. It was a small place, tucked away from the woe and chaos of the world. Beautiful, really. They came in for a landing, Raisu's stomach lurching as they came in closer to the ground. He'd have to work past that, if he ever learned for himself. They touched down, the older Saiyan stumbling as he did. Raisu flinched, waiting to smack into the ground, waiting for Arlic to drag him to the ground with him, but it never came. A woman had appeared to support Arlic, a woman with golden hair and amethyst eyes. Who Arlic shortly introduced as his wife. His wife, who shortly laid into him. Yelling at him, going on about power levels and, to Raisu's surprise, mimicking the Saiyan perfectly.
The wife called over an alien, James was his name, and beckoned him to take Arlic away. The android turned on them next, this time a smile on her face, introducing herself. Serenity was her name. A lovely name, indeed. She offered welcomes and food. Raisu grinned at that.
"It's nice to meet you, ma'am. I'm Raisu. And that sounds great."

"Yes! I would much rather walk!"
Vivi's voice rose with a high pitched crackling that could be easily heard with the levels of terror quickly running up the length of her body at the mere thought of having to be lifted into the sky once more.
Much to the cat girls disappointment her words left hardly an impression on Apple man leaving her eyes to glint with a fine layer of tears; fear was now in a vice grip around her heart. Vivi would have gladly protested the idea in more depth but from the look in the mans eyes she knew there would be no point in trying. Rather than going around to convenience the two of them to walk Vivi bit the bullet in the only way she knew how, she panicked.
"Noooo! Please! Noooo! I don't wanna! I don't wanna!"
Tears rolled down her cheeks in thick streams, trying to wiggle from the man grasp her legs kicked wildly back and forth like a child in a tantrum hoping to find some small saving grace which would free her; with no luck Vivi soon found out that no matter which way she moved around the man's strength far out paced hers even in his current condition.
Feeling the slight imbalance of Apple man with his knees bending Vivi involuntarily took in a large gasp of air as her body froze in place, once more she was like a statue. Lifting off from the ground the three of them took the skies and off away from the brutal skirmish leaving the ill thoughts behind them. Even with the decreased rate at which they flew above the Earth Vivi was out for most of the trip; eyes wide with tears streaming from both corners yet if someone were to speak to her it was as though no one was home but the lights were on.
It wasn't until some time later that Vivi began aware of a change in their flight, they had been traveling slow before but now she could feel them going all the slower, their altitude beginning to drop and with each passing second they descended all the closer to the ground. It wasn't until the man's grasp released on Vivi and she fell face first into the ground that she fully came to from her trance like state from the full impact of the ground.
"Ugh...."
Vivi moaned softly, her grunt muffled greatly with a great heap full of earth in her mouth.
She was slow to get up at first, after having been stuck in one positions for a long period of time her muscles were stiff with blood slowly flooding back to her limbs, at this point it felt as though most of her body had fallen asleep sending painful tingles through her. On her hands and knees Vivi made little attempt to move from her fallen position, at this point she wasn't even sure she could stand on her own, her mind was fairing little better than the rest of her still just as numb and nonreactive as the rest of her. Having been completely unaware of where they were going or just how long she had been out of it for Vivi hadn't even noticed she was on solid footing until her eyes slowly opened.
"Land...Land? LAND!"
Head bobbing up Vivi shouted with joy at the though of being on the ground once again, it was like a sailor who had been at sea for to long and just spotted a stretch of land for the first time in months.
The sudden movement was not one her body was quiet ready for and just as Vivi rose from her knees in victory they buckled in letting her upper body fall forwards, once again smacking her face into the hard earth below with a deep crack.
"Ugh...."
She grunted once more before finally giving up allowing her legs to fall under the weight of her body as they slumped off at an odd angle to her sides; through the clumps of dirt in her face sound of small sobs could be heard coming from her.
At this point Vivi hadn't even taken notice of the people around her let alone what was going on with Apple man, all to often she found herself in her own world with her own troubles, so far they revolved around trying to get the dirt from her teeth and standing up. It wasn't until the prospect of food that Vivi's hears twitched heavily, all to often it was food that did the trick and her ears had been well trained to pick up on that word.
"Food?"
Her head shot up from the ground sending off a sprinkle of dirt and grass; no longer was Vivi's face flawless now with green smears of grass and clumps of dirt threatening to fall from her skin any second, and while her smile might have been one to warm hearts at once it was now splattered brown where the ground had mixed with her own saliva to create a thin smear mud.
Sighing lightly Vivi pushed herself onto her hands and knees once more this time with now found vigor, hips raising high above the rest of her body Vivi began to shake about wildly clearing away small bits of dirt and grass that had become attached to her skin and clothes, though all that most could see was a rapid purple blur as she did so. It was a quick, not a very proper job but after a few well placed shakes she was visibly cleaner than before, though others nearby might have been sprayed with whatever she threw off.
"That's better."
Vivi noted with a small sigh of relief, taking a stand for the first time on weak, slightly shaking legs. It was then that Vivi took her first real glances around those that stood around; aliens, at least most of them. Having been new to the Earth Vivi had assumed that most who lived her were human, or at least humanoid but with her eyes wandering around the crowd of people who had come at their arrival she noticed that humans were few in number around them. She also took notice that particles of dust and dirt clung to their faces from when she had shaken herself off before leaving her to blush slightly at the fact.
"Hehe...sorry."
Vivi apologized softly, her hand covering her mouth with embarrassment as she did do.
Finally her eyes turned towards the woman Vivi assumed had been talking the whole time, she was a young looking, long vibrate hair like the light of the sun hung from her head in long strands, smooth, flawless like skin and a warming smile that could match with Vivi's any day of the week. Instantly Vivi knew she was going to like this woman, and with a name like Serenity what wasn't there to like.
"Hiya!"
Vivi chimed in happily with a slight wave of her hand in a haphazard manner.
"I'm Vivi! And this is Pretty boy!"
Mentioning the man standing next to her Vivi flicked her finger to direct towards him.
"He's nice, or at least I think he is, I really just met him but he's got a nice smile so I'm sure he's a good guy."
Vivi spoke like a machine gun her words seeming to fly from her lips as she did do without a pause or even a moment to gather breath; far to often this was they way she spoke until she was blue in the face or till she passed out.
"Anyway! Nice to meet you! And did I hear someone mention food? He did feed be already, two apples but I could always go for a bite or just whatever you put in front of me."
She spoke once again in the rapid fire speech, already her face growing pinker by the second with the effort she put into talking.

The aging Captain was seen off, mumbling something about rum and wanting another go at some Changeling whose name eluded his hazy mind. Half helped and half carried; the soldier needed the assistance up the stairs and to his humble abode above the cafe. More a bed and a closet then a real room; boots yanked off, followed by the rest of his clothing before haphazardly falling into bed. Grunting to himself quietly as he felt the embrace of a long days work impact him as steady as any attack from a foe. He'd apologize to the little alien girl tomorrow, or the next day, depending on how long he'd be asleep. But it was what it was, and he'd rather her mad at him and alive then happy and dead. He'd seen enough young faces vanish in the fires of war to rather her hate him and go on for a long life. Serenity would take care of the two; and the entire town would care for anyone their Sheriff dragged in. Hell, that was how half the town was there; and they all got along just fine.
The android led the two aliens, well alien and hybrid alien, along the cobblestone path. Night was coming, the mountain air turning from bright blue to a husky purple and orange. Puffy clouds streaked with the last rays of the days light; turning the world into an odd hue itself unique to the Northern Lands. "So, a Hybrid Saiyan twice the strength of my husband shows up, and an odd little alien form I have yet to identify." The blonde haired woman mused out loud, tapping her chin in thought with the two in tow. "The worst part, this is by far not the oddest thing he has done. You know how Saiyans are. So eager to bench press their foes they forget that they're still only....human. Mortal, I suppose would be the better phrase." She smiled wryly at her own thoughts, guiding them through the double doors to the Twin Lakes, the little hole in the wall dinner of Lucia.
The business was as usual, a quarter full with the sound of light talk and clinking of silverware making the homey little restaurant feel as it should. Warm in the could hills, and the blonde android had a table set for them with a few quick words. She vanished for a bit, the small cluster of Lucians looking over to glance at the two out of place aliens. By and far there were nods of approving and friendliness. Any friend of the Captain was a friend in the town, and before they knew it the food was there. Plates staked high with pancakes and meat, a staple in a land where you worked hard and ate more then you should at dinner. She tugged one of the chairs back, taking her seat and gestured for them to eat.
"It's always best to brief the new arrivals while they eat." She stated simply, flashing another small smile of greeting. "Little Lucia here's about half a decade old. It was founded when we all escaped a slave ship. It was old Vallliere who did most the work; if you haven't noticed his metal limb."
"Stomped that Arcrosian through a wall! Saw it meself, solid metal in the shape of that ugly suckers face!"
"Quiet, you know that Val almost died and that changelin' still be muckin' about. Took the Captain's arm."
"And he took it's eye! And it's power level was in the hundreds of thousands! Cap ain't scared of no Acrosian."
"No, but we gotta be scared for him! He's too dumb to get scared."
The chatter died down at a glare from Serenity, the medical bots optics sweeping like a lazer of silence at the growing argument. Suitably contained, she returned to her wards.
"Please, disregard the folk. They get rather excited when talking about Lucia's history with new arrivals. The gist of it is, you are welcome here as long as you need. The Captain made it obvious you are his friends, and Lucia never says no to new hands. Although Jamie made it clear that some little lass was stealing his apples."
Word got around fast in a small town, and the albino alien was still sour about his crop getting stolen. Although if you rubbed his head for five seconds he would forgive anything so long as it lacked in serious. Before the two knew it people were shouting out encouragement, or offers for help. From a place to sleep, to a meal, to a hot shower. The odd mix match, the dredge and riff raff of the galaxy were all stuck together; and that ment Raisu and Vivi were not part of the strange melting pot of a family. Helped in no part due to the high approval the Captain had among his people. It was rather odd for all of them to admit a Saiyan was their guardian; but half a decade could change any stereotype. Vivi was the subject to plenty of attention as well, being a race that they had yet to meet. Raisu, being half of what Val was, had the people convinced he'd be the deputy or some sort. The rumors spread like wildfire, and before the two knew it they were stuck with questions about everything. Where they were from, what they liked to eat, what they wanted to do, how old they were, everything. New people were always interesting after all, and the war was as big a threat here as anywhere; but the people of Lucia refused to let it halt their lives. They'd keep working and leave the worry of fighting and war to Val and the other fighters of the little township.
Once the plates were cleared, Serena resumed her careful leadership. The cafe was only a few buildings down, and the worn wooden stairs on the side led up to her and her husbands abode. "We're saving up for a house. Once the government pays the bounties it owes Val we'll have it. He's already started planning." She explained, opening a door to the little hallway, a few empty motel rooms popped open for the two aliens.
"Miss Bowie said it's on the house for a while. We rarely get travelers, and she makes her zenni off the cafe downstairs anyway. But first....."
Palms scanned over each of them in turn. Checking internal and external wounds with the precision and experience of a....well, a robot. "Nothing but bumps and bruises." She tsk'd, wrapping Vivi up with some soft linen bandages. "I know little one~ Old Val can be a bit of a brute when it comes to flying." She cast a glance at Raisu, doing the same to him. "Sleep and food for you, young warrior. Maybe a few shots, when was the last time you went to a checkup?"

Serenity led the two of them of them down a cobblestone path. How quaint, thought Raisu as he walked alongside the thief girl. Vivi, he supposed her name was. Simple enough, and easy to remember. She wasn’t from Earth, was she? He’d seen beastfolk before, but not quite like this. Less fur, more human. Odd, really. Not that he minded or particularly cared: he was rather beastial himself, with the tail and all.
The sun was setting, the last rays of the dying sun just barely lighting their way. It would be night soon enough. As Raisu looked about the village in the sunset, he was surprised just how pretty it was. It was always something he loved to do, stroll through idyllic little villages like this. His mind went back to the last little village like this: one of the townsfolk had been kind enough to let Raisu, a stranger, sleep in his barn for the night. Country people were different. Maybe a bit kinder, and most definitely a lot more trusting. Maybe it was the simplicity of the life, away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets, it put something in their minds that their city counterparts just didn’t have. Or maybe it was just something in the fresh countryside air. Like this mountain air. Crisp, much different from the dirty air of the city. Hell, even the sky was prettier out in the country. His eyes turned up to the heavens, which has been dyed the most lovely shades of purple and orange. You didn’t see that in the city, no sir. Or at least Raisu had never seen it. And he had grown up in the South Capitol, which had it’s own kind of lively, neon beauty. But nothing like this, not at all.
Serenity spoke as the walked, commenting on the state of the duo. She quickly identified with as a Saiyan hybrid. What gave it away, he wanted to ask. The hair and the tail? And then on Vivi, whose appearance had obviously stumped her as well. What a mysterious girl, thought Raisu. Certainly pretty though, whatever she was.
Apparently, this was common for Arlic. What Serenity said spoke to Raisu. Press one’s foes? He understood that feeling well, he truly did. When he fought, something primal woke in him, demanding he push back against those who pressed him. And he understood feeling immortal. When that fire was in his blood, he felt like he could take on the whole world, like some kind of hero from myths and legends. Regardless of the fact that Raisu had met plenty of people stronger than himself. He knew that for a fact. He’d met plenty who out did him.
Like BREU, Raisu’s mind again going back to the last village. The drunken android had been plenty stronger than him. Hell, he destroyed an entire town. And Raisu had just barely stopped him. Probably wouldn’t have if the Namekian hadn’t come along. How lucky he’d been in that regard. Occasionally something went his way. Not often, but just often enough to keep him alive.
“Hey, I understand where your husband is coming from,” said Raisu, “Fighting is fun.”
The woman led them to this little hole in the wall diner, the ‘Twin Lakes’. Nice place, he thought. Raisu had eaten in worse places. Much worse. Like that time he’d eaten from a shady burger cart on the streets of South Capitol. Man, had that made him feel sick afterwards. It had just been so greasy. And kind of hard. And possibly still alive. Compared to that, this diner would probably be five stars. They entered the diner. Not much of a crowd, but that was to be expected. It was a little diner up in a hidden mountain village. He was almost surprised that they even had one. There was chatter all about, aliens and the sort talking to one another. It was almost surreal, stepping into the diner. He’d never seen such a wide variety of different races. What could he say? He was a sheltered Earth boy. Until recently, he’d never even thought he’d have the chance to sail among the stars. But now, that was within reach. And he’d never been more excited for such a possibility. To dance among the stars had been a dream of his. This diner was like a little slice of what he had expected, here on Earth.
The aliens looked at them, as if they’d not expected a hybrid and some kind of strange alien girl to wander in at this time of day. Not that he blamed them. It was so secluded up here, visitors must be a rarity. But, to their credit, they looked at the two newcomers and nodded their approval. Friendly folks, thought Raisu. Must be that country air.
Serenity beckoned them to sit and eat, having taken a seat for herself. Best to brief new arrivals while they eat? What was he getting into?
Apparently Lucia had been founded after they escaped a slaving ship with Arlic’s leadership. Apparently, it had been quite the harrowing experience, Arlic fighting a significantly stronger Arcosian. Impressive, thought Raisu. He’d met an Arcosian once, Polar, and had learned that they had quite a few tricks up their proverbial sleeves. So, the Arcosian had been the one to take Arlic’s arm. And Arlic had repaid the favor by taking his eye. Amazing, really. How many fighters could close the gap like that? And survive with an angry alien after them?
All this talk of fighting put a fire in Raisu. Maybe he’d try his own hand at the veteran Saiyan. Always a good time to fight a fierce opponent. After the man had had a chance to rest, of course. No fun fighting someone who could barely move.
Apparently word had gotten around that the girl had been stealing. Lucky her, thought Raisu. Who knows how they would react to that? Country people might be nice, but they were a little funny, too. Hard to gauge them sometimes.
And Arlic was a bounty hunter? Impressive. Must make quite a pretty penny off that. At least enough to afford said house. Raisu grinned at that. Well, good luck to them, he thought. If Arlic was as half a good as man Raisu thought he must be, he deserved it.
Raisu pushed his empty plate away from him. “Thank you so much,” he said. It had been good eating. Best he’d had in awhile. He’d have to hit up the cafe before he left again. And then she set to examining them. Vivi’s come out fine, a little bruised but fine. Serenity let her go with just bandages. Raisu came away from his check-up largely the same. Thank Kami, he thought. Last thing he wanted to hear was that there was something wrong with him. But no, she simply prescribed food and sleep, two things Raisu loved to hear. Also, maybe some shots. Raisu shivered. No thank you, he thought.
“I appreciate the check up, ma’am. Thank you, but I think I’ll get by just fine with the food and the sleep. I’m sturdy, you know? I’ve got that Saiyan blood.”

Purple eyes fell onto the draped form of Apple man, his weary, weakened body half walking, half being carried along by one of the strange alien citizens of the small hidden mountain village. Having compassion for all forms of walking life Vivi felt the need to give the man a hand to where ever it was he was being taken, she had seen first had what had happened to him and her thoughts raced about how serious the condition he was facing. From what little Vivi knew of the man it was easy to figure out that he was strong, not just in body but in willpower, having carried the two of them for miles through the blue skies above after having his body torn and battered as it was now took a considerable amount of effort and energy; while he was great to mask the pain and trudge on a person could only take so much before their body succumbed to the damages which had been inflicted upon it. In her time traveling among the stars Vivi had seen many injuries ranging from simple lacerations to limbs being clearly torn from a person, with all that experience she had Vivi knew that the man was not in the best of ways and she might have come running after him to aid in some way but she paused in thought. Vivi lacked any medical skills, even applying a band aid might have been a stretch to her abilities with mending wounds, in the end she would only bother to get in the way of others.
Ears flopping gently above her head, Vivi came to the decision that while she wished there was something for her to do, there really wasn't; what the man needed right now was a warm bed and plenty of rest, the best she could do was keep the man in her thoughts and hope he made a full recovery. The choice wasn't fully based alone on her thoughts, her lingering eyes landing on the woman that Vivi had come to know as Serenity, Apple man's wife; clam and collective she did little to aid her husband to get to their housing rather she did the same as the others and watch him hobble away, if someone as close to him as a wife didn't usher Apple man away in a terrible hurry then Vivi realized that he would be alright in time. A uncontrolled movement stirred Vivi's body as she danced lightly from foot to foot at the thought of being so useless towards the man who had taken her to a safe haven and probably saved her life in more ways than one. She hated just standing around and watching, it was more than just boredom, it was the need to help but being unable to. Luckily for Vivi her thoughts would quickly be sidetracked with Serenity dragging them down the stone laden streets towards a nearby restaurant though it lacked a fine polish of an upper class arrangement, feeling more rustic and homey.
The pace was slow between the three of them, like a tour they were led through the town streets allowing the two new visitors eyes to wander about the lovely scenery of small haven. Vivi hadn't much noticed at first with all the commotion that took place upon their arrival but the village, while a bit small for Vivi's tastes was quite a site to behold with ones own eyes. Beautiful shades of colors lit the skies above the ranging mountains giving them a haunting beauty in a dull shimmer, the cooling night sky only helping to emphasize the glowing colors that shinned from the grey, snow filled peaks which broken clouds as they passed by. Off in the distance Vivi could make out the swift rushing sounds of water from a nearby source, to loud to be a fountain, perhaps a river, she thought though her eyes had yet to fall upon it. Vivi had to admit, if her love for exploration had not clung so tightly to her heart she would have deeply considered staying her and making alive around this village but her ways would conflict far to much with these people. She was at heart a thief, and always knew she would be, these people, kind and rather simple folk had no place for a person of her nature here. The thought saddened her slightly, it wasn't the first time such a thought had stung her eyes with bitter tears, over the years the effects had dampened slightly so it was easy enough to mask it with a gentle shrug of her shoulder.
Off in the distance from Vivi's little world she could make out the soft words that came from Serenity, Vivi never had any means to be rude to the woman as she spoke, most of what she had said completely went through one ear and out the other for Vivi her mind in deeper thought than her face would ever show. A gentle nod from Vivi's head was all the response the cat girl gave, her eyes still wandering around the village towards all the people they passed and the odd assortment of buildings that rested in the earth. Each building was different than the last, they all shared similar features however, Vivi assumed that because these people came from so many different places they brought a little bit of their lives from before here giving the city its slightly irregular houses; overall, Vivi decided she liked the differences, every direction her eyes would wander something new would catch her attention.
Coming to face the building head on from up close gave Vivi a better picture of it, simple yet it filled its demand from the people who lived here. Like the other buildings they passed Vivi could make out the small differences in its structure, most likely created that way by whoever owned the place to bring a small piece of their home with them. It was a warming thought one that brought a small smile to her face as Serenity escorted through its wide, wooden doors. The first thing to hit Vivi was the strange smells that wafted into her face, smashing into her nostrils with a powerful kick leaving her to recoil slightly from the overwhelming sense. Spices, alcohol and other aromas that Vivi couldn't quite put her finger on but the smells alone was more than enough to set her mouth watering at the thought of finding something to sink her teeth into.
Taking a over look of them room Vivi noticed that for the size of the structure it was woefully under populated with only a few handfuls of people scattered across the room; softly spoke words and the clinking of silverware as they enjoyed their meals and their friends company. Vivi couldn't remember the last time she ever stepped foot in such a place, eating out was a rarity among her people, most of the time they would dine on whatever the ships cook prepared and meals were usually eaten alone and when the time could be found for it, let alone eating with silverware, that was for fancy rich folk, she thought with a light giggle through a cupped hand.
Gathering a table for the two of them Serenity vanished for some time leaving Vivi and Pretty boy to take a seat at their small table. Sighing softly from the comfort of sitting Vivi scooted her chair closer towards the table in wait for whatever was placed before her, food was food after all, raw or not she would eat it without second thought, after all she never knew when she would get the chance to dine like this once again. With some time before their meal would arrive Vivi had some time to look around at the people and thinking alike her eyes fell upon others of those which sat around the room. It was a warm and friendly scene with light smiles being thrown towards the two of them and Vivi was happy enough to greet them back with a just as inviting smile.
Their meals arrived some time later and in bigger bulk than Vivi was accustomed to seeing all in one place without hordes of others dashing out to get whatever they could before it was gone. Most of what was laid before her on the table was unknown to Vivi with her experience of human dining a foreign concept to her but it was the smells and looks alone that set her hands ripping in the stacks of fluffy, flat cakes and piles of meat without second thought. Like a wild animal Vivi consumed whatever dared to be placed before her with gusto, barley stopping to breathe between mouthfuls. She couldn't say she was starving but it had been some time since she had eaten a meal of this size and wasn't about to let an ounce of it go to waste.
Vivi enjoying hearing a story during her dinner as so often was the case when she dined with her old captain, his stories leaned much more to the adventurous side than Serenity but all in all her light, sweet voice did the trick just as well and it wasn't as though Vivi had much to say at the moment nor she could with her air way stuffed with mounds of chewed food. Vivi found it humorous to hear the other dinners chime into the woman story with their own little tid-bits of what they had heard from Apple man's tale of fighting against some powerful being. Having heard stories of the sort before Vivi often knew that many parts were over exaggerated from the truth and from the voices of those that spoke she assumed so was the case but she wasn't about to poke in holes in what the believed after all they seemed to enjoy the tale as they thought it existed and she wasn't about to ruin that for them. Sadly though the banter was quick to die down from the glancing stare of the woman, her eyes falling on to their raising voices like a knife, soon all was quite once more as she continued to speak.
At the mention of Vivi being a thief she shrugged her shoulders lightly at the thought, she was who she was, and there wasn't much which could change that.
"Look! The fork is stuck on my face."
Vivi giggled as sure enough while she was busy devouring the flat cakes before her a fork had gotten stuck to herself in all the confusion.
It was clear Vivi didn't care much for whatever rumors might be spreading around about her sticky hands, or sticky face in this case and made quick note to bypass any conversation on that point. It wasn't as though Vivi was planning to steal from any of these people after all they had given her a free meal, in a sense that was stealing which filled the need to swipe something while no one was watching.
With cleaned plates and stuffed bellies Serenity led the two of them out of the dinner and towards a small house that rested some ways up the street. Vivi moaned at the idea of having to walk such a distance with her stomach filled to capacity, all she wanted now was a toasty bed, not to walk up a flight of stairs but she assumed any beds for her to rest on would be up the flight of stairs they faced. With a grimace Vivi sucked it up and followed the woman up them and towards the small hovel. Opening the door wide for them Vivi peered into the dimly lit hallway to see a series of rooms which ran down the course of the corridor, each one most likely containing a small room with a bed. Mentioning the free of charge rooms Vivi whelped happily at the thought of having a place to sleep without the worry to pay for it, though if push came to shove she could just sneak out before payment was due, it wasn't as though she hadn't done it before.
Taking a step forward Vivi made attempt to wander into a nearby room but before she could it was Serenity who stopped Vivi dead in her tracks. Vivi's first instinct to such a rapid reaction was to recoil and ready herself to fight, however the caring eyes of the woman stopped Vivi from doing such a thing. Hands flew across Vivi's body with lightning speed there was also a sense of care in the gesture that caused Vivi to stand perfectly still as the woman examined her closely. Taking a few seconds before it registered Vivi came to realize that the woman was simply checking her well being and it became all the clearer as she was quick to bandaged Vivi in an assortment of cloth with a mixture of kind, coaxing words that caused Vivi to purr softly.
"Nah, he's alright. I like getting rough anyway, much more fun than being to gentle."
Vivi giggled with flushed cheeks as her off colored joke before scampering off into one of the nearby rooms and with haste she flopped down into the first bed she saw. Face buried into the sheets Vivi purred loudly at its soft embrace allowing her body to go limp in body molding surface and she kept like that for a few moments before her head lifted from its surface.
"Pretty boy! Come here!"
Vivi hollered a little louder than was probably necessary.
She would wait for a moment before he entered if he did at all before turning over her shoulder to glance at him.
"I was curious, why do you have a tail. I mean, its not like mine, its all thin and scraggy. Are you like me? But without the ears?"
Vivi cocked her head towards one side with a odd look at him, one of her hands pulling gently at her own furry ear which prodded from the top of her hat.
