Light streamed in through the blinds of the Reville living room and fell directly on Articho's eyes. He sighed in frustration from his spot on the couch. The sunlight had woken him up once again. Always from the same place in the blinds where the cloth had torn and a piece had fallen off. His mother refused to replace them because it was just one place and they had them drawn back most of the time. He would sleep in his own bed, but he was letting Sasha stay there for the time being. He would switch ends of the couch, but the end he rested his head on was the only one with an armrest he could use to prop his head up on. He sighed again and heaved himself up off of the couch.
The young hybrid yawned and rubbed the sleep from his eyes as he walked to the kitchen. His footsteps were heavy across the wooden floor and his stomach growled as he reached the pantry. Without looking, he groped around until his fingers brushed a cereal box. Articho grabbed it, got a bowl and spoon from the cabinet, milk from the fridge, and sat down at the table. He made himself a bowl and ate it quickly. His appetite had returned since meeting with Ninjin again. He made himself a second bowl and ate it quickly, as well. He would have had a third, but the box was empty and they hadn't picked up anymore recently. Another sigh. Articho moved his tail to scratch a spot on his back and found that he wasn't wearing a shirt. Or pants, for that matter. He was clad only in his boxers. That was a problem. All his clothes were in his room, where Sasha was sleeping. He sighed again. This was not his morning.
Articho stood up from the table and dropped his bowl into the sink. He walked upstairs and down the hall to his room. He pushed the door open slowly, floating a few inches above the ground as he did, and entered the room. He floated as quietly as possible over to his closet and placed his hand against the wood. He gave a gentle push and the loudest creak he had ever heard resounded from the wood. Articho froze, the noise having thrown off his carefully laid out plan of getting dressed without being seen or heard. Making a snap decision, he pushed the door open the rest of the way and jumped into the closet. He slammed the door behind him, not caring if the creak had woken up Sasha in the first place.
"Dammit..." he said quietly as he leaned against the door.

Sasha was lying facing the door to Articho's room, awake far earlier than she normally would have been. She never slept well in strange places, the unfamiliar noises and smells keeping her instincts from letting her sleep. Of course, she never let on that she didn't sleep well because that would be discourteous, but sometimes she wished she were back at home, in her own room, where she could sleep peacefully. She was about to restlessly turn over to see if that would enable her to get at least a few minutes more sleep, when the door began to open. Sasha quickly brushed her bangs over her eyes so no one would notice they were open and lay as still as she possibly could, hoping whoever it was wouldn't notice she was awake. She watched as Articho eased the door open, floating a few inches off the ground. She also noticed the distinct lack of clothes, which explained why he was sneaking into the room. Sasha panicked slightly, glancing down to make sure the blanket was pulled up far enough to cover her bra. She wasn't wearing a shirt, that just made it even harder for her to fall asleep, though she couldn't imagine why that'd be so. Reassured that the blanket covered everything but her bare shoulders, she looked up just in time for the closet door to creak so loudly and unexpectedly that she jumped. She then watched as Articho bolted into the closet and slammed the door shut. The entire event so unexpected that for a second or so she just sat there a little stunned. Then she began to laugh, grabbing her shirt from where it lay on the floor and putting it on.

Gleciar had been the first to wake up that morning. He had gotten up before the crack of dawn and went to the roof to watch the sunrise. It was a surpricingly nice view from the roof of the small house. But once it was over he climbed down and jumped through the window just in time to see Articho sneak into his own room. He knew his best friend was nowhere near outgoing enough to try anything, even if he had little to no clothes on... He must be looking for some clothes... He let out a small chuckle and sat down on the frame of the window waiting for something to happen.
Then suddenly the loudest creak he had ever heard came out of the room and boomed throught the whole house. Then a slam of the door! He was doing his best not to laugh, but when he was about to give in Sasha started laughing herself, so he gave in and joined in. Probably not being heard at the distance that he was. Good thing of living with Namekians your whole life? Your hearing gets much better to get used to their comunication.

Articho stayed leaning against the door for a moment. He could hear laughter coming from the other side. Sasha was awake and may have been for a while now. Which means she probably saw him in his underwear. Perfect, absolutely perfect. How would he play this off? He needed to distract her somehow. Something that would take her mind completely off of it. But what could he do? The hybrid continued thinking as he grabbed a shirt and pants from his closet and threw them on. He rolled the sleeves up on his shirt to his elbows while his tail worked its way out of the small hold he has in the seat of his pants. An idea began formulating in his mind as he tugged on a pair of socks and slid his tennis shoes on. He recalled the time they had all spent in the hospital. It was a long shot and more than a little crazy, but it would be better than having that image of him in his superhero themed boxers at the forefront of her mind.
Articho took a deep breath to calm himself before knocking on the door and asking, "Are you dressed, as well?" He waited a few moments for confirmation before stepping out and stretching his arms slightly. He hoped that his face wasn't too red from blushing, even though it was burning hot enough to melt iron. "So, Sasha..." he tried to say as a casually as possible. "Ninjin gave me the day off today from practicing the Super Saiyan form, so do you want to go into town or something? I did ask you on that date a while ago." The young hybrid tried to grin confidently, but it came out skewed. Good job, bonehead, he thought, chastising himself for coming off as more awkward than confident.

Sasha continued laughing as she got up and put her skirt back on. (Superheroes? Really? He's such a dork!) she thought, the image just making her want to laugh harder. She calmed down as she reflected (He acts so cool but he's just as awkward as anyone) she thought, chuckling a little at the thought as she re-seated herself on the bed. She thought she heard someone else laughing, but couldn't quite figure out the direction. She thought it was behind her, but when she looked through the window at her back, there was nothing there. (Odd...) she mused. She heard Articho knocking on the closet door like he was coming in from the hall or something like that, asking if she was dressed. Apparently Sasha was feeling particularly giggly today, because she had to stop herself from laughing again as she informed him that she was, in fact, dressed. He came out from inside the closet looking extremely embarrassed and awkward. (Oh my gosh he's so embarrassedandit'ssoadorableIjustwanttohughimandpethisheadandtellhimit'll all be okay!) Sasha had to restrain herself from making any sort of move; she knew she liked to be hugged and told it would all be okay when she was embarrassed, but that just might make it worse for him. She attempted to restrain herself from further thoughts of hugging Articho in various states of undress and embarrassment as she listened to his awkwardly delivered proposal, which did not help matters, especially the awkward grin. (Date? Was it a date? I remember him asking me for a meal, but never clarified that it was going to be a date... I think.) Sasha was finding it very hard to do that right now, actually. She put it down to mild sleep deprivation, totally not distracting thoughts at all, nope, not here! (Actually the sleep deprivation might be contributing to the distracting thoughts, usually I can keep my mind on track much easier...) By this time she realized that she had been thinking too long and hadn't given Articho an answer, letting an awkward silence pass between them and causing him to look ever so slightly crestfallen and more embarrassed than he had looked before, if that was even possible. Or was she imagining it? "Yeah, that sounds like it'd be fun." she replied, rushing out the words as fast as possible as if to make up for the long pause and causing herself to blush as well.

Gleciar shut his mouth with his hands as soon as Sasha stopped laughing. That was close... Man... They really must not find out I'm listening in... But... Ugh... Can't see anything from here! Should I look through the door? Its still varely open... I could watch and run fly out the window as soon as they started heading out... No, too risky. I guess I'll just listen.
After a few moments he heard a knock followed by... Uh... Seriously? Is he serious? Wow. Huh... He... dumbass. At least she is wearing something, unlike him. Or maybe he was now... He did spend a little while in his closet. So... What are you going to do now, genius? He waited for a few seconds until he asked her on a date. He instantly covered his mouth and laughed as hard as he could, considering it would be muffled by his hands. Though he fell through the window and stopped a few inches from the ground. That was close. He thought as he started flying towards his room's window.
Man... If she says yes. God... This should be interesting. He thought as he positioned himself under the window frame to have a much easier time listening in. And after a really long silence... She said yes. The Arcosian couldnt help but smile at that. GOD! I cant wait to see Arti's face! It'll be priceless!

Articho's face couldn't have burned a deeper shade of red. He had embarresed himself to the point of no return and he couldn't think of any way to try and recover from it. Sasha was still laughing, though, and she didn't seem too upset over his sudden intrusion. It was a little surprising, honestly. She had been very quiet and kept more to herself before. She seemed to be warming up to him, which was nice. At least it meant she didn't hate him for what happened to Benetto, something he was determined not to talk about unless she brought it up. It would prevent any complications during the day.
The silence between them quickly grew uncomfortable, prompting him to rock back and forth on his heels as he waited. He had expected hesitancy from Sasha given her usual nature, but he was still surprised by the answer she gave. Articho stared at Sasha blank eyed for a moment. The hybrid didn't think he'd get that far with her. He stayed silent for a few moments and studied her for a moment. Her face was quickly becoming red, not as much as his own, but it was getting there. He couldn't ell but think that the blush on her cheeks made the girl across from him look pretty cute, too.
Articho realized how long he had been letting the silence stay and cleared his throat. "So, uh," he said hesitantly, "you ready to go now?"

As the silence stretched out after Sasha had given her reply, she got more and more embarrassed and fidgety. (ShitIblewithe'sgoingtochangehismindoh noooooooo) was the most coherent thought she had at that moment, though there were many more ballroom-dancing around in her mind, so fast that she couldn't really register each individually, just collectively as a massive swirl of panic and embarrassment. Then Articho asked her if she was ready to go at that moment, and everything froze for a split second. (He... Okay, he hasn't changed his mind. That is good.) Sasha thought, imposing as much order on her mind as she could with that statement. This time she made sure to immediately respond, saying "I don't know, I think we both might want to go back to bed for a bit and start the day over with how it seems to have been going so far."
That may not have been her best idea, as she said that without thinking it through as much as she should have. Though she'd meant it as a joke, it hadn't come out as joke-y as she'd wanted it to. It had actually come out sounding awkward and tired, which had not been her intention at all. Hastily she added, "But if you're up for leaving now, I don't mind going as well." (Darn it! Maybe I should go to bed and start over, nothing seems to be going quite right, and I think my slight sleep deprivation is messing with my thought processes...) she thought, letting her gaze fall to the floor, cheeks burning in shame and wishing that she could vanish into the bedclothes and never be seen again.

Gleciar couldnt help but roll in the air as he contained his laughter. He shook his head and kept listening. Articho wanted to go out then and there... God, this is too good of a chance to pass by... Fuck it. He quickly and quietly flew back into the house all the way to the living room where he flopped on the couch before taking a deep breath and jumping to his feet, then stomping his way to Articho's room and knocking loudly on the door. "ITS NOT EVEN 6 am, ARTI! DONT BE A FOOL! HAVE YOUR DATE LATER! HAVE BREAKFAST AT THE VERY LEAST!" He shouted before turning around, walking to the kitchen to make himself a sandwich.
Once in the kitchen he grabbed a loaf of bread, some butter wich he used to cover the bread and took a bite out of it. I bet those two are so freaking red right now! HAH! He couldnt help but snicker and skip around a bit, before taking another bite and snickering some more. Maybe I should have been more tactful... I mean he is my best friend and they like eachother... Nah. A good shakedown is fine... And fun for me.

Articho nodded a little too vigourously at Sasha's suggestion. His face contrasted sharply with his blue eyes, showing how embarresed he was. Where was all of his confidence that he usually showed? His projected image had simply crumbled away and the awkward teenage boy he kept under wraps had wormed forward. It, like his face, was a sharp contrast to his typical self. The hybrid couldn't help but think of what his mother would be doing if she saw him now or heard about it later. She'd be laughing for a short time, then probably have a minor crisis over her boy growing up. His thoughts then trailed to his father and , for the first time, he wasn't angry. Sure, Articho didn't know his dad, but he felt like his father would be frustrated, then pull him aside to give his son some sort of advice on the Saiyan way of asking someone out. He couldn't have begun to think of what that would be, though. Perhaps he would ask his mother.
"Yeah. You can get some more sleep," he said after a few moments. "I'll get some exercise in until... noon, maybe?" Articho offered the new time and waited for a reply before hearing a yell come from outside. His eyes narrowed as he looked towards the window. "Gleciar..." the hybrid hissed quietly. He looked back at Sasha and gave her a mischevious smirk. "On second thought, I've got a lizard to chase off. Have a good rest of your morning. I'll see you later."
Articho walked out of the room and gently closed the door behind him. He quickly and quietly ran down the hall and down to the kitchen. He saw Gleciar sitting at the table with some bread and butter. The hybrid crossed his arms. "Have you even heard of a thing called 'privacy'?" he asked as he crossed his arms. "Because, I would like mine. We can hang out later, alright? Do you really want to third wheel this date?"

"Noon sounds like a good idea." Sasha replied quickly, turning redder from the (genuine?) concern Articho was showing her. She stifled a yawn and nearly choked as she heard Gleciar yelling. (So that's who I thought I heard laughing? How long has he been listening in? Has he been watching?) she thought, panicking a little. Embarrassing herself in front of one person was bad, even if she didn't like him in some fashion; but to embarrass herself in front of his best friend as well made it ten times worse. She was so embarrassed that she couldn't even bring herself to laugh at Articho's exiting words; she just mutely nodded and buried her burning face into the pillow and willed herself to sleep for a little longer. Eventually, she slept.

Without even reacting at Articho's words, Gleciar took another bite of his sandwich. After taking his dear sweet time chewing his food he swallowed and grinned at his best friend. "Yeah, I do know the word's meaning. But when Im climbing back down from the rooftop and watching the sunrise, just to see you enter your room nearly naked... With the cherry ontop of the sundae being the fact that if you had sensed Sasha's energy you would have known she was awake... I couldnt help to listen in. It was too priceless." After he finished talking he took another bite, this one chewing and swallowing in a few seconds. "Plus... You asking her on a date a few moments later. Come on! I c-" It was that moment that he couldnt help it any more and he laughed out loud until he ended up wheezing.
Once he was done laughing he spoke again "And anyway, I dont wanna be a third wheel... I just found this whole thing funny." He with a smirk before rolling his eyes. "But sure we can hang out at another moment. In two days in fact, if we survive tomorrow. We'll throw a big party in Benny's house or my cave. I dont know. The thing is I just want to relax and and enjoy the posible day before my death." He said turning his expression grimm... for about ten seconds, after which he threw the sandwich into the air catched it with his mouth after jumping off his chair and swallowing it. "But hey! Go on! Enjoy your date!" He said slapping his back playfully. "But really... At this hour?" He muttered under his breath as he left the kitchen and went back to the livingroom and turned the tv on. Man, I really need one of these for my cave. These last few days with this wonderful machine.. and I think Im in love~! If we survive this and the whole spaship thing goes well, Im installing one in every room!

Articho frowned as he watched Gleciar continue to eat. "I was focused on not trying to make noise and wake her up. Plus sleeping doesn't make your energy any lower if you can't already do that. Why were you sitting on my roof, anyway?" His grown had turned into a scowl. Gleciar's laughter was loud and it might wake up his mother, if she wasn't already awake. And if she woke up earlier than her alarm clock woke her up, she was a serious force to be reckoned with. Articho's earliest memory of pure terror had been when he's woken his mother up being loud. The hybrid nearly shuddered at the thought. "Keep your voice down," he hissed. "You want my mother to come and kick you back to your cave?"
Articho watched Gleciar move to the living room and turn on the TV, his arms still crossed. "We're not going now," he explained. "She's getting some more sleep and I'm going to get some exercise in. You do whatever, just keep the volume down and don't eat all the food." The hybrid walked up behind the Arcosian in the chair and leaned down. "Because if you do," he said in a quiet, menacing voice, "be sure to tell Benetto I said hi." With a smirk, Articho turned around and left his house. He stood in their yard and shadow boxed at nothing, his thoughts wandering as he let the hours tick by.
-------------------------
Articho's watch beeped loudly as the time rolled around to 12:00 noon. The hybrid dropped the Boulder he'd been balancing between his shoulder blades back into its original spot. It hadn't seemed like that much time had passed since the fiasco in the morning, but clearly it had. He made his way back inside, stretching his arms over his head as he did. He quietly walked upstairs and to the bathroom, where he took a short, hot shower. He didn't have many thoughts as he stood in the water. There wasn't much else to think about.
He turned the water off and left the shower at 12:08 in the afternoon. He grabbed his change of clothes and finished dressing by 12:10. Articho ended up outside of his door, his hand raised above it. He thought about waking Sasha up and taking her on that date, but he was hesitating. Was this the best idea? He wasn't sure if Sasha felt forced into it or if she was doing this out of pity. He wanted to have fun, but he feared it would be awkward. His mind's version of his father was shouting at him to grow a pair and try. Almost against his will, Articho rapped his knuckles against the door three times and he talked to Sasha through the door.
"Hey, Sasha," he said. "It's noon and I figured now was a good time to wake you up. I'll be downstairs if you need anything."
Articho hi stepped back from the door, staring at it for a moment before quickly turning and going back downstairs.

Sasha had been half-awake and clinging to the remnants of sleep as hard as she could when the knock came. Sighing in surrender, she opened her eyes and said, "Alright, thanks for the wake-up call. I'll be out in a minute..." She sighed and grabbed clean clothes and ducked into the bathroom for a shower.
She swiftly undressed and turned on the water as hot as she could stand it. She let the water stream over her for a moment, her bangs straigntening and completely obscuring her eyes under the watery assault. She drew in a deep breath, and then let it out, her shoulders sagging slightly. Despite her feline heritage, she had always liked the water. It helped her feel calmer and more relaxed, and usually helped her think more clearly, somehow. Unfortunately, today that combined with the heat of the water made her feel sleepy as well, so she hurried through the washing process, much as she wanted to stay under the water.
(Well, this isn't turning out like I expected... then again, the concept is a rather tired one in romance novels, isn't it? Smooth, cool male meets mousy, nerdy female. They fall in love and it turns out the smooth, cool male is not as smooth or cool as he seems to be. After a lot of awkward dancing around, one of them, usually the guy, asks the other on a date. Then something happens to cause a crisis in the relationship and one or the other, usually the girl, runs off... the other pursues and protests their undying love. The other immediately accepts them back and then they get married and live happily ever after...) "...which means only three or so fights a week." she whispered to herself as she rinsed off, wryly quoting a favourite author of hers. She sighed and turned off the water, grabbing a towel and drying herself off. (Still... I always liked those old romance novels, even if they were cliché...) she thought, carefully braiding her still-damp hair. (They had a sort of... comforting regularity to them. Though... now that I think about it, I hope our relationship doesn't follow the formula. I like to think I don't have to be protected ALL the time like those romance heroines... Just... most of the time? Ugh, sometimes I feel so useless!) she huffed as she began putting on clean clothes. (Everything seems to be WAY more powerful than me and I just... what's even the point anymore? I can't catch a break at all... even big brother is... well, was... more powerful than me. And I can't seem to catch up...) She sighed and squared her shoulders, opening the bathroom door and heading downstairs. (Well, moping won't help, that's for sure.) she thought to herself as she looked around for Articho. (After all, I'm supposed to be enjoying myself today!)

Articho was sitting on the couch, thumbing through the pages of a comic book. It was about the same superhero whose symbol his boxers were emblazoned with. His own exploits equaled and probably surpassed the superhero's, but he didn't really care. It was better to see someone else in the dangerous situation to save the world. He wouldn't stop throwing himself at the dangers Earth faced, but it was nice to leave the responsibility to someone else sometimes, even if it was just a fictional character.
Footsteps clicked down the stairs, prompting the hybrid to look up from his page. Sasha was there and he smiled in her direction. He flipped the comic book closed and set it on the table beside him. It was an older issue and he knew the ending. It was a cliff hanger, with the hero at the mercy of the villain. Maybe he'd pick up the next issue, but he could probably predict the ending of that one. This was the hero's individual run comic. They wouldn't kill him without another hero to pick up the slack. "Afternoon," he said as he stood up. "I suppose you're ready to go now. Anywhere you want to go in particular?"
