Traits would be whatever the person chooses to make those characters. They wouldn't be mechanically oriented... However, that would actually be helpful to have them fill out, as a necessity for getting a handle on their character to overall improve on their writing. Even having 3 separate sentence like so would make things easy to work out:
"Pieter is a courageous warrior.
He is kind, if he is shown kindness.
Lastly, he likes to think about things in his life."
Simple to work with and it leaves plenty of room to work with, but it establishes a foundation for a character.

I dunno, I prefer a more show-y approach to character personality than just listing it. A lot of people can say "Oh, my character is angry and doesn't work well with others" to try and balance out their traits, but then make threads where they're always running around laughing and working with a group of people.
It's easy to just list some traits on a list real fast. Harder to actually display them.

While I agree consistency of personality is good, characters develop over time, and nobody can read another person completely, which is what explicit personality profiles will lead to people doing IC. Not everyone, but there will be individuals.
When people meet Hyoza, they don't know what's going on in his head, they don't know what he'll do - I know, and that's all that is needed for him to be portrayed consistently.
I'm not against letting people include a personality section (indeed, i approved several apps with them included), but I do not care for it myself.
I don't give a damn about a hypothetical character's hypothetical personality until I meet them, and I want things to unfold naturally, as they should.

If you'd like for it to 'be revealed' as you get to know a character then why do we have a history section which reveals so much more about a character? Also, while I understand that Character Growth is a thing there is no stopping someone from updating their information when said character begins to change. If people can't keep their character's personality consistent then I'd argue that they aren't a good writer. The point isn't to 'list some traits real fast' but more describe what makes your character your character.

Also, while I understand that Character Growth is a thing there is no stopping someone from updating their information when said character begins to change. A history tells you where a person comes from - it's there to show thought has been put into the character and that they can be integrated into the setting effectively. Personality traits can be extrapolated from histories in many cases, but that's not why they exist. My way may not be your way, but that doesn't make it incorrect or illogical. This is an artistic medium, and personal taste is more relevant here. Like I said, got no problem letting people have a personality sub-section in their profiles (I approve apps with them fairly often). But I ain't gonna read 'em unless I'm having to approve them, and I don't support making it 'the standard'. It should only ever be optional. This comes down to personal taste, I find. To some (me included) personality trait lists are just a quick and easy way of finding characters yours will mesh well with. If you like that, fine. But to me, and prolly others too, it just feels artificial, in a setting where crafting a fun and believable (in the context of DBZ, at least) story is the goal.

Personality is entirely indicated by how you actually RP the character and not by a 'personality' section on an app. Its a deliberate omission.
